WWE The Tale Of II Brands: A BTB Event

    A BTB EVENT

    The Tale of II Brands
BROUGHT TO YOU BY WOKE WILLIS AND THE EC

“Those who do not move, do not notice their chains”

In 2013, it was widely believed by most of WWE’s employees that a new era was about to begin in the company. Things were going just fine for WWE, as they had assembled a talented and star studded roster, created a prosperous developmental system and were preparing to launch an unprecedented streaming service which would undoubtedly be a game changer for the promotion.

Meanwhile, shake ups were taking place in the front office, as Vince McMahon was slowly loosening his grip on the reigns of WWE programming. His daughter Stephanie McMahon-Levesque and his son-in-law Paul Levesque (aka Triple H) were gaining more influence over WWE’s day to day operations. The increased power had them giddy to institute some changes, which they would do immediately following WrestleMania 29.

First, it was announced that the WWE Network would be launching earlier than expected as the original debut aiming for February 2014 for Wrestlemania 30 but now being pushed up almost a full year as it will launch the night after the Smackdown after Wrestlemania. WWE Network which will play host to WWE PPV's moving forward will start with none other than the biggest event of the summer, live from Wembley Stadium.

WWE would officially be switching from its “scratch” logo to the more sleek and modern logo that had been used to promote the Network.

Secondly, the brand split would return after WrestleMania. Two little known writers, Jay Willis and EC James, were surprisingly promoted to head bookers of Raw (Jay Willis) and Smackdown (EC James) respectively. A draft would be held to once again divide the roster among the shows. New General Managers would also be appointed to run the shows on air. The goal of revisiting the brand split and promoting the two young writers to powerful positions was to challenge each show to produce the best content each week, and in turn, drive up ratings.

A new PPV schedule was created which, to the surprise of the many, cut the number of events all the way down to four. The only PPVs which remained would be SummerSlam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. It was reported that these changes were made to put more emphasis on Raw and Smackdown, and make each of the remaining PPVs feel more special. Many rumors stated that TV and/or WWE Network specials would be a possibility going forward for the company, though nothing was confirmed at the time.

This amount of change was jarring for fans when the news broke, but was generally met with praise as fans and critics realized that the WWE was looking towards the future and taking risks in a way that they hadn't in years. However, only time would tell if this new approach was for the best. As WrestleMania 29 concluded, WWE fans waited eagerly to see what the next chapter held. The first step in the transformation: the draft, which would occur on the first episodes of Raw and Smackdown following Mania.

A New Era Is Upon Us!

    Preview

With the ultimate success that was Wrestlemania 29 from MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ. So much jam packed action, from John Cena defeating The Rock to win the WWE Championship, to Del Rio defeating Jack Swagger to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. The crowd last night was rocking along with the WWE Universe as they watched The Undertaker extend his winning streak at Wrestlemania to 21-0 as he defeated CM Punk, Triple H picking up the win against Brock Lesnar in a career threating match.

With everything that Wrestlemania was, this episode of Raw will be the show to change everything, as Vince McMahon once said "It's time to shake things up a bit" and that will be the case this Monday on Raw. On WWE. COM, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon announced the return of the draft, as both Raw and Smackdown will go back to being it's own brand with championships and talent. With two picked GM's selected by Triple H and Stephanie to lead the brands into the new era of brand wars.

With so much going with the night after Wrestlemania usually bringing us a "special" crowd, we start moving forward into a new era in the WWE and it starts with the WWE draft. So many surprises on who will land where and what will happen, as the WWE Universe much like the WWE rosters are left in the dark for what will transpire and how the WWE as we all know it will be changed, forever, so buckle up, and get ready for a wild ride that will surely leave us all stunned.

This week starts the launch of the WWE streaming service WWE Network and after the draft is done on Smackdown this Friday, the world will eb able to access the greatest wrestling streaming service ever, with every PPV from WWE, ECW and WCW and exlcuise content, which will then bring us to the first ever PPV to stream live on the WWE Network with the 2013 Summerslam live from Wembley Stadium in the UK.

Draft Nights One and Two Breakdown

Raw drafting 5 and Smackdown drafting 4 on Raw
Smackdown drafting 6 and Raw drafting 5 on Smackdown

And the rest of the draft will be completed with a supplemental draft on WWE.com immediately following the Smackdown Draft Night.

Tune in and watch history be made and WWE changed FOREVER!

Will be following. I despised most of 2013, and it was a huge catalyst to why I stopped watching WWE altogether until recently, so I already know this will be better because there was SO MUCH that could have been done with that 2013 roster, but we all know how everything shaped out

Raw WWE Raw Aprill 8th 2013 - WWE Draft: Night One

    2013 WWE Draft
    Night One
    East Rutherford, New Jersey
    April 8th, 2013

Raw opens up with a jam packed post Wrestlemania crowd that is still buzzing over Wrestlemania 29 that just passed. With John Cena finally able to defeat the one man that it seemed he could not, The Rock, to become the NEW! WWE Champion. But that is not all, as not only is this the post Mania Raw, but tonight, the battle lines get drawn once again as Smackdown and Raw host the 2013 draft. Small rules regarding the draft are shown on the titantron.

    • WWE Champion John Cena has been automatically assigned to Raw, while World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio has been automatically assigned to Smackdown.

    • The brands will alternate picks, with Raw receiving the first pick as a result of a coin toss.

    • Each brand gets 25 picks. There will be 10 picks on both Raw and Smackdown, with the remaining picks taking place in a supplemental draft.

    • Tag teams and stables qualify as 1 pick.

    • After SummerSlam, superstars are eligible to be traded between brands.

    • Free agents can be signed at any time.

    • Each superstar and championship will be exclusive to the brand they are drafted to. Appearing on the opposing show is prohibited. Raw and Smackdown superstars can only compete against one another at PPVs and other special events.

Tonight we will learn who will be the New General Managers appointed to run both Raw and Smackdown. So many questions and so many answers tonight as Triple H’s music hits and out steps both he and his wife Stephanie McMahon. The two walk towards the ring with massive news. Once inside the two put over how great of a night Wrestlemania 29 was last night and with that behind them they are onto bigger and better things as tonight, they shake things up a bit and usher in a new era here in the WWE, starting with tonight's draft. The two talk about how they looked for the two names to step up and be the GMs to lead the WWE into this new era and usher in a new brand war. They say they have found them, and they will be standing at the podiums on top of the ramp to select their roster as tonight Raw gets 5 picks and Smackdown gets four, with Smackdown this week will have Smackdown get 6 and Raw getting 5. For both GM's to draft ten each between Raw and Smackdown shows this week. Both GM's will look to drart the core of their roster as they go head to head for brand supremacy. Without any further ado, Stephanie McMahon announces the general manager for Raw, declaring that the "she" that will be running this show will be none other than..... NIKKI BELLA!. The crowd looks a bit shocked and confused as Nikki walks out from behind the curtain and stands at the Raw draft podium. Stephanie McMahon co signs Nikki as someone who will do great things for Monday Night Raw. Triple H congratulates Nikki on the job but for him, he needs a GM that knows how to steal the show, and be the oak tree for any wrestlers that he picks to learn from and take their careers to the next level. The general manager of Smackdown is none other than..... SHAWN MICHAELS! Shawn Michaels walks out and struts like you would expect from HBK before walking over and shaking the hand of the Raw GM Nikki Bella. Stephanie and Hunter leave the ring and head up the ramp as they congratulate the two on their new roles in the WWE as the draft is just seconds away from starting. Nikki Bella has the first pick for Monday Night Raw, but before she makes her selection, she announces that her first pick will get a WWE Championship tonight on Raw against John Cena.

CM Punk’s music hits but no one steps out. His music hits again but this time Paul Heyman steps out and informs Nikki that she has proven how great she will be at this job by her first pick alone, but unfortunately CM Punk will not be here tonight as he has placed himself on a small sabbatical. So there will be no CM Punk tonight. The crowd of course don't like this but tonight there will be no CM Punk. This brings Shawn Michaels up for his first pick of the 2013 draft.

He first thanks Triple H and Stephanie for the opportunity, then applauds Nikki on a great first pick. HBK says his first pick is a no-brainer. With one pick he plans to acquire two former world champions, perennial main eventers, and the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions..

Fire erupts on the stage as Team Hell No’s theme hits. The champs come out to a roaring ovation. Michaels shakes both men’s hands and returns to the podium to state that thanks to this pick, Smackdown is now the hottest show in all of wrestling, and the future is brighter than ever with these two on the blue brand!

    Wrestlemania 29 Rematch
    Mark Henry vs Ryback

    Match Summary

During the entrances we're shown a quick "earlier today" split screen video where Ryback is being interviewed backstage. He talks about his defeat at Wrestlemania to Mark Henry. Henry may have beaten him but he is still standing and ready to enter in tonights match to rip Henry in half and get his revenge on him before they possibly end up on different shows.

Mark Henry mouths off to Ryback about beating him at Mania as this begins to fuel up Ryback. The start of the match was more like the Mania match with two massive men trading strikes till Henry gets the upper hand on Ryback and hits him with a massive running closeline. He begins to berate him as he kicks on him and throw him around. Henry telling Ryback that he will never beat him, Henry tries for a Military press but Ryback breaks out and hits Henry with a spine buster and then a closeline thats ends The World's strongest Man over the top rope.

Henry though lands on his feet and then drags Ryback under the bottom rope to the outside of the ring and throws him into the guard rail. Henry does it again but this time with more force, he takes Ryback from there and hits a running power slam on Ryback. He taunts to the crowd and even gets in the face of a fan, which allows Ryback to leap up and hit Henry with a Meat Hook closeline. Henry slowly up to his feet and hits him with another Meat Hook closeline. Henry is woozy as Ryback rolls him back into the ring, as he breaks out in a feed me more chant and charges for another Meat Hook but Henry out of nowhere with a massive leaping shoulder tackle. Henry covers Ryback but Ryback quickly kicks out.

Mark Henry slowly to his feet calls for the World's Strongest Slam and picks up Ryback but Ryback shoves Henry back and with aderline Rush quickly gets Henry up for a MASSIVE SHELL SHOCK!!! As the crowd goes crazy over Ryback getting him off of his feet and hitting his finisher and he covers for the 1...2.........3!

    Winner via pinfall: Ryback

After the match, Ryback gets the crowd hyped with the feed me more chant as he revenged his lost against Henry at Wrestlemania. Ryback is interviewed by Renee Young. She asks him about the draft and where does he want to land, Ryback isn't concerned about where because he is hungry and he is hungry for WWE championship gold and he is looking to eat.

The attention is back to the podium as both GM of Raw Nikki Bella and GM of Smackdown Shawn Michaels stand and wait for the next selections of picks to begin. Nikki Bella is up for the next pick for Monday Night Raw. Though as her last pick kinda blew up in her face as she set for CM Punk to be here tonight and wrestle for the WWE Championship against John Cena. But CM Punk is not here tonight and really no idea when he will return to the WWE as Heyman his representative announced that he is taking a break from the WWE for the time being. She stands at the podium ready to make her pick and she does as she selects.......

Brock's music doesn't even hit as Paul Heyman walks out and now everyone is pissed as it doesn't take rocket science for everyone to realize that Brock Lesnar is not here tonight. Heyman once again compliments Nikki on her eye for talent as her both two picks were Heyman guys but just like Punk, Brock isn't here tonight as he just didn't feel like showing up to be honest. Brock Lesnar though will dominate the Raw roster just like only Brock knows how, but the reign of Lesnar, just doesn't start here tonight though. This frustrates Nikki but she has made the pick and now has to live with it as everything turns over to the Smackdown GM Shawn Michaels.

Michaels shakes his head as Nikki’s second pick is also a no-show. He steps up to the podium and says that his second pick is in fact here tonight. In fact his pick is one of WWE’s hardest working and most reliable superstars. A guy that has carried Smackdown in the past and who will be an important part of the brand's future… with the fourth overall pick...

“Voices” blares on the PA system as the crowd lights up. Orton comes out on to the stage and does his signature pose, then shakes Michaels’ hand. Orton comes up to podium with a short and sweet message. He says the last couple months he's lost a little bit of his edge and let himself get distracted but with WrestleMania over and a new era upon the WWE he is focused on getting back to the top and reclaiming what is rightfully his - the World Heavyweight Championship! He says that no matter who else Michaels brings to Smackdown, it's Orton’s brand now and everyone else is just along for the ride. With that, his theme hits once again as he returns to the back. JBL and JR say it looks like the old Orton is back, and though he made some bold claims, if there's anyone who can back up their talk, it's The Apex Predator.

    Yoshi Tatsu vs Sheamus

    Match Summary

Sheamus waiting for Yoshi to come out, as you can tell though he is a face that he is not taking this match serious at all. Yoshi Tatsu comes out with a new look as his hair is wet and covering his face and he is wearing all red tights with graphics of Japanese Devils all over them. He enters the ring as Sheamus doesn't care really to even try to make something out of this.

    Yoshi and Sheamus
go face to face as the match begins. The match begins as Steamboat with his quickness gained the upper hand. With his quick kicks, it looks to annoy Sheamus as Sheamus tries for a strong closeline but Yoshi with a leaping knee strike and then a kick to hits Sheamus mid section, Sheamus though bounces back with a knee to Yoshi mid section and then begins to pound on him.

He takes Yoshi and throws him on the turnbuckle and hits strong chops and then open hand slaps, he hits Yoshi with a power slam and then drops down with a elbow.
Irish Curse follows as Sheamus is rolling and he is really looking confident, as he waits for Yoshi to get up and hits him with a White Noise and he covers but Yoshi is able to get his foot on the rope before the 3.

Sheamus calls for the end and calls for the Brogue Kick, but as he runs for it, Yoshi leaps up and hits Sheamus with a
Bicycle knee strike and this knocks Sheamus loopy as Yoshi runs off the ropes and hits another Bicycle knee strike as Sheamus drops to a knee and Yoshi with a stiff looking Spin kick and Yoshi covers as the ref counts the 1...2......3

    Winner via Pinfall: Yoshi Tatsu

The crowd is shocked with Yoshi picking up what might just be the biggest win of his career. Beating a multiple time world champion and even knocking him out cold. Yoshi leaves the ring without saying a word as he just put the WWE on notice and even Sheamus who did not take this match serious at all, and now he regretted it.

Raw GM Nikki Bella is seen walking backstage as she is approaches by Cody Rhodes. Rhodes who is rocking a new look a she has shaved off his mustache. Rhodes suggest that she takes him tonight in the draft. Nikki Bella who is telling Cody that she has a few names in mind for the draft for tonight and well she hasn't really thought about him. As Rhodes tries to explain why he is worth having on Raw, the true A show of the WWE, a female comes from behind and wraps her arms around Cody. Cody reveals to Nikki that this is his wife, Charlotte -Flair-Rhodes, the daughter of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Rhodes tells Nikki that she needs this kinda of rich legacy on her show and as this happens, the WWE Champion John Cena. Rhodes tells Nikki that since Punk isn't here, he wants to be next in line to get a shot at the WWE Championship against Cena. Cody goats Cena into the match as Nikki tells Cena if he wants to accept he can, as Cena, fresh off of his historic win over The Rock to become WWE Champion, John Cena accepts and tonight, he will put the title on the line against Cody Rhodes. Nikki walks as she makes her way back to the podium as she is next to draft and she announces the 3rd pick of the 2013 draft as....

Out comes the Shield as they walk through the crowd and get to the podium and finally a draft pick made by Nikki that is actually here tonight. The trio get on the stage and by the podium as the hounds of justice make it things short and sweet. Raw will be their yard and everyone who lands on the show will see why they are the most feared trio in WWE history. The trio walks off as you can tell that they mean business.

As The Shield walk off the stage, Smackdown GM Shawn Michaels passes by them and pauses, as he and the group have a little stare down before continuing their separate ways. Michaels approaches the Smackdown podium. He says that his next pick may come as a surprise to many, because his next pick is someone he has an extensive history with, most of it being bad. But he isn't going to let some bad blood from the past get in the way of him making the best decisions for his brand. That's why with his third pick...

“BREAK THE WALLS DOWN” echoes through the building as the one and only Y2J comes out onto the stage to the approval of the WWE Universe. For a moment he stands in front of Michaels who has extended his hand to him as a sign of respect. After a moment of suspense, Jericho shakes his new boss’ hand and the crowd gives a pop. He reaches the mic and yells that Smackdown is Jericho! He puts the roster on notice that this year is the year that he reclaims the top spot and cements himself as the GOAT! He finishes by thanking Michaels and saying that he is honored to be working for a legend like HBK, and together, the two of them are going to make history one more time! The crowd continue to cheer as he leaves the stage once again shaking hands with Michaels on the way to the back.

Sheamus is in the locker room as he is apporched by Renee Young and she asks him about the shocking upset victory that Yoshi Tatsu just picked up over him earlier in the night. Sheamus admits to not taking Yoshi seriously and he paid the price for it. Young asks Shemaus if by doing show, it may have hurt his stock where he might get drafted in the draft. Sheamus will not let this defeat get to him but one day he will meet Yoshi in the ring again and he will prove to him that Yoshi got lucky off of his arrogance but that won't happen again and he will have a Brouge Kick waiting to take his head off.

Backstage we find Shawn Michaels getting some coffee at the catering area as he waits for his turn to pick again. Suddenly, ballroom music is heard and Fandango and his dance partner, the debuting Summer Rae, twirl up next up to Michaels. Michaels looks at Fandango expressionless as he glares at The Showstopper. Fandango asks what gives… Fandango reminds Michaels that just 24 hours ago, he defeated Chris Jericho in his WrestleMania debut, yet Michaels has the nerve to choose Y2J over him in the draft? Fandango says he won't hold it against Michaels, as long as he does the right thing and chooses him with his next pick. After a long pause, Michaels says that Fandango has made quite the impression and it hasn't gone unnoticed. But Jericho has a body of work that few can match and brings a champion’s pedigree with him. But Michaels says tonight Fandango can cement his status as a rising star and possibly earn himself a spot on the Smackdown roster. He tells Fandango to head down to the ring and Michaels will send an opponent his way. Fandango nods and he and Summer Rae start heading ringside.

Fandango w/ Summer Rae vs The Big Show

    Match Summary

Fandango got to the ring after an elaborate dance routine with Summer Rae. He waited for his opponent and to his dismay, it was none other than “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show. Despite the tall task in front of him, Fandango went right after Show, only to get overpowered and tossed around for a couple minutes. He scrambled to the floor to regain his composure while Show ordered him to come back. Fandango slid in to break the count and then immediately back out to the ground. After a while of stalling, Show reached over the ropes while Fandango had his back turned talking to Summer Rae, grabbed him by his head and pulled him up to the apron. Fandango snuck in an elbow which staggered the giant while he rushed to the top rope. He dove off the top only to be caught by Show.

Show threw him over his head in a fallaway slam, but Fandango landed on his feet. Show whipped around and swung at Fandango, but Fandango ducked under. Show turned around and Fandango raked his eyes, disorienting him. Show swung wildly but Fandango dove out of the way so the ref took the blow.

Just as soon as the ref went down, someone popped out of the crowd and slid in the ring… none other than “The Viper” Randy Orton! He tried an RKO on Show but it was defended. Show whipped him around and put his hand around Orton’s throat. Fandango slid in and landed a low blow on Show though, which allowed Orton to nail the RKO! Orton yelled at the downed Show and laughed with vengeance. Fandango approached him with a smile and offered him a handshake, only to be given an RKO as well! Orton popped up laughing wickedly. The ref began to move a little so Orton quickly dragged Fandango on top of Show and disappeared into the crowd as the ref regained consciousness and counted the 1, 2, 3!

    Winner via pinfall: Fandango

Nikki Bella at the podium quickly sets everything up to make her pick as she selects with the 4th pick of the 2013 WWE draft.

Out comes Cody with his wife Charlotte Flair-Rhodes as the two stand at the podium as Rhodes promises to become WWE Champion tonight and when he does, the Rhodes and Flair family can rejoice as finally someone with a great legacy can bring great honor and reputation to the WWE Championship. The two walk off as the announcers put over how tonight can be Cody's night and he can walk away from tonight's historical Raw the NEW! WWE Champion and Cena shouldn't be taking Rhodes lightly tonight.

As Rhodes and Flair waltz to the back, Michaels comes back to the podium for his last pick tonight. He is pleased to announce that his fourth pick will be bringing more championship gold over to Friday nights.

Cesaro’s music hits as the US Champion makes his way to the stage with his WWE Shop t-shirt on and his belt around his waist. He daps up HBK them gets to the podium, where he congratulates Michaels on making the best pick possible, and wisely avoiding Fandango. He says Michaels’ only mistake was not drafting him sooner but, nevertheless, he'll represent Smackdown with pride and do everything in his power to drag the brand out of the pits of despair, and make it an “uppercut above” all other wrestling shows. His music hits once more and he leaves the stage as his new GM just kind of shrugs at his arrogant comments.

"Mr. Money In The Bank" Dolph Ziggler w/ AJ lee and Big E Langston vs Local Enhancement Talent

    Match Summary

Before the match, Ziggler cuts a promo on ow he has got the word that whatever show he gets drafted too, his Money In The Bank contract will allow him to case in on the champion of the show that he is drafted too, so doesn't matter if its Del Rio, Cena or even Cody Rhodes, he tells them to watch their back because he doesn't have much time left before it expires. And he will be either WWE champion or World Heavyweight Champion real soon.

Ziggler finds himself facing a local talent and he begins to make a mockery of the poor guy. Ziggler though doesn't let this match get any further as he drops him down with a Zig Zag and but instead of going for the cover, he locks in a Sleeper Hold on the talent and puts him to sleep rather quickly and the ref calls for the bell and declares Ziggler the winner.

    Winner via Submission: Dolph Ziggler

After the match, Big E picks up the talent and drops him down with the Big Ending as the three stand tall. The announcers put over how Ziggler can be the one to shake everything up as he can cash in and become champion, but he doesn't have much time left to do so. And also, he little clique of AJ Lee and Big E can be separated after the draft.

Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee are backstage as they cross the path of Kaitlyn, the WWE Divas Champion. AJ approaches her and lets her know that don't get too comfortable with that championship, as she will be coming for that belt and she will do something with that title that hasn't been done for a long time, give it creditably. Kaitlyn is just assumed about this as AJ gets in her face. Kaitlyn mood changes as she tells AJ to back up. Lee smirks as she skips away with Ziggler not to far behind her.

Cody Rhodes is backstage talking with his wife about how big of a opportunity he has tonight and he will not let is lip through this finger. Charlotte enforces that this will be their night as Cody will be leaving tonight THE NEW! WWE Champion. Rhodes looks focused as his father, WWE Hall of famer, Dusty Rhodes walks in. He first congratulates him on getting hitched but that tonight needs to take the backseat as he is a massive chance here and that is to become the man. But he knows how tough it is to beat someone of the caliber of John Cena and he needs to bring his A game if he wants to leave here as champion. Cody tells Dusty that he is telling him what he already knows and that tonight, he will be the man, and he will lead Raw into the future and the new era will belong to the Rhodes-Flair family. Dusty is hyped up as he watch his son tune in and prepare for his shot to become the WWE Champion.

    WWE Championship
John Cena (c) vs Cody Rhodes w/ Charlotte Flair-Rhodes

Cody Rhodes looks more than focused as this might be the biggest the match of his life, challenging for the WWE championship. With his wife Charlotte Flair- Rhodes at ringside, he set to do something that his brother and not even his father have ever done and that is become the WWE Champion. John Cena's music hits and out he comes, the crowd well being a post Mania crowd is really giving Cena hell and he looks like he was already pretty much expecting this. Cena enters the ring as the introductions are done and Cena looks prepared to expect the match of his life from Cody Rhodes a she wants to become WWE champion and well he might not get many moments to try and capture the most prestigious prize in this business.

The match begins and Cody is all over Cena, as the ref has to try and break things up, Cody tries for a early Disaster Kick but Cena ducks it and hits Cody with a snap suplex, Cena finds himself in control early in the match as the crowd is just filled to the ceiling with Cena sucks chants.

Cena grounds Cody and really keeps him to the mat as at ringside Charlotte rallies for her husband to get back into the match, but Cena, being more custom to a big match environment works on Cody and every time it seemed like Cody as building up some steam and some momentum, Cena being the veteran was able to cut it off and gain control right back where he had it.

dy tries to fight back as the crowd is totally behind him, with each right they cheer while of course on the other hand, with each punch Cena lands the crowd boo's. Cena thought will not let this distract him like most matches where the crowd is 100% against him. Cena with a power bomb that knocks Cody loopy as he then his the side slam and looks set for the 5 knuckle shuffle but Rhodes is up as Cena is doing the move and hits a massive bionic elbow and then follows up with a DISASTER!! The hold is broken by the ref, as Rhodes is back on the attack but Cena blocks a punch from Cody and hits a belly to belly and then waits for Cody to get up and hits him with side slam, and then drops a 5 kunckle shuffle, he waits for Cody to get up and then lifts him up and drops him down with a AA! But Cena follows with a STF! As Cody is in trouble and his dream to become WWE champion is falling down and burning right in front of his eyes.

Cody screams in pain as he tries not to tap and is about to until Charlotte gets on the apron and distracts the ref, Cena breaks the hold and heads over to get this settled as from nowhere Rhode tries for a Diaster Kick! but Cena see's it coming and ducks as Cody kicks the ref. Cena tries for a AA but Cody blocks it and then hits a CROSS RHODES!!! And then another CROSS RHODES!! for good measures as he covers but there is no ref and Cody has the champ beaten in the middle of the ring. The crowd is going wild as Rhodes realizes that the ref is down as he goes to wake him up.

While this happens, Charlotte is arguing with the Raw announcers on how this match should be over. She then takes the WWE Championship at ringside and tries to hand it to Cody but Cody refuses to win this way, as this small exchange of words happen, Cena is up and Cody turns around into a AA!.

Cena see's the ref slowly getting up and then locks in the STF in the middle of the ring as Charlotte has no choice but to watch her husband tap out to Cena as Cena successfully retains the WWE Championship.

Winner via Pinfall and still WWE Champion:
    John Cena

After the match, John Cena is handed the WWE championship as he waits for Rhodes to get to his feet. Cena gives Charlotte a nasty look before going over to Cody and offering a hand as that was a hell of match. Cody shakes it as he leaves the ring and is joined by his wife who is upset that Cody didn't use the title belt to knock Cena out and win the championship. JBL puts over how Cody almost shocked the world tonight and became champion, but he calls Cena big match John for a reason and that is why he is still WWE Champion.

Nikki Bella is in the ring this time as she said that her last pick for tonight is so huge that she wants to make in the middle of the ring. She talks about how this is a HUGE! return for this superstar as he is one of the greatest superstars in WWE history. A former WWE Champion, a former King of the ring winner..... she selects.... Nikki notices that the music hasn't hit yet and she begins to worry that her last pick of the night will end up just like the first two and not be in attendance tonight. She is seen wording something to a producer and she is upset as she is yelling at them before the music hits and the 5th and final pick for the night is announced....

    Spoiler:

Kurt thanks the fans for never forgetting about him and giving him that kind of ovation and that he will never leave them again, that he is back and back for good.. a nice beautiful moment which is interrupted by...Sierra, Hotel, India, Echo, Lima, Delta...... The Shield then ambush Angle as theys stomp on him and beat him senseless in the middle of the ring just like many others. Angle who is defenseless as he is thrown to the outside of the ring and The Shield clear the announce table and TRIPLE POWER BOMB! Him through it. The Shield stand over a brutalized Kurt Angle as Nikki Bella is in shocked as she stands over by the podium and watched her epic surprise return ruined by The Shield. Monday night was one for the books, as the WWE embarked on a new journey, dividing the roster among Raw and Smackdown and introducing two new General Managers in the process. Friday night, Smackdown is taking things to the next level.

On night one of the draft, the WWE Universe was treated to a plethora of surprises, culminating in the return of the only Olympic gold medalist in WWE history, Kurt Angle! However his triumphant return was spoiled by the omnipresent Hounds of Justice, The Shield.

There's only one way to find out, and that's by tuning in to Friday Night Smackdown on Syfy.

After the show, join us on WWE.com for the supplemental draft which will determine the fate of the remaining superstars and hang around for the much anticipated launch of the unprecedented WWE NETWORK. Hoping there's some background done on current stories and such, because unless I missed it, the Charlotte/Cody story caught me entirely off guard, not against it but confused a bit. Excited for the rest of the draft!

Re: The Tale Of II Brands: A BTB Event

Im intrigued with where you are going with Nikki Bella being the GM of RAW. I love HBK as the GM of Smackdown. I’m not sure how I feel about Heyman’s announcement of Punk. I hope there is more to it later in the show. Also, any BTB that puts HBK and Dainel Bryan together is a good BTB to me.

Good match to get Ryback his win back which he should have had at WrestleMania. I want to see Ryback with the middle card belt of his brand.

I hope to see a feud between Nikki and Heyman that leads to Paul winning the GM job. Punk and Brock are good picks for RAW. I like Orton to SD. I think your building SD to be the wrestling show which is realistic.

Wow, character development for Yoshi and a nice surprise win for Yoshi. I am intrigued for sure to see where you go with Yoshi.

Charlotte married to Cody is kinda cool to imagine. Merging of two historic families should be fun to play out. I wonder how Cody gets Dusty and Ric to get along. I hope to see Cody in the main event picture.

Nice picks by both RAW and SD. I love Jericho going to SD b/c ur really building that as your wrestling brand. I like the Shield being on RAW and I kinda wanna see them in a feud with Heyman’s guys especially if you do Nikki vs. Heyman.

Fandango’s push continues and him with Summer Rae is pretty good. Im assuming both Show and Fandango will go to SD, since we kind of started an angle here tonight. Curious to see why Orton pulled Dango on top of Show.

Uppercut Above has to be Cesaro’s catch phrase…its perfect…like seriously. Again, SD is getting another wrestling wrestler and I love it. Very intrigued by Cody and Charlotte again. This has been a good reset show.

Ziggler w/ Big E and AJ was one of my favorite groups. I hope they do not get broken up and all end up on SD. Ziggler for champion please.

I enjoyed the match between Cena and Cody. I don’t think I like the dissention between husband and wife this early into the BTB. I would of marked so hard if Cody went over on Cena.

Well, my idea of SHIELD working for Nikki is out the window, but I forgot that they were heel at this time period. Kurt Angle returning is awesome and I cannot wait to see who he gets to help him against the SHIELD. I def will be checking out the next show. Good work.

Re: The Tale Of II Brands: A BTB Event

    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
    2013 WWE Draft
    Night Two

The night kicks off with WrestleMania highlights. The video covers The Shield defeating the team of Sheamus, Orton and Big Show in which friction caused the latter team to implode, ending with Show knocking out both Sheamus and Orton, as well as Alberto Del Rio successfully retaining his championship against “The Real American” Jack Swagger, The Undertaker keeping his streak alive against CM Punk, Triple H vanquishing Brock Lesnar to save his career, and John Cena finally overcoming his demons to beat The Rock, winning the WWE Championship in the process. We then pivot to the next night on Raw where a brand split is announced and the first night of drafting begins. Nikki Bella is announced as the new Raw GM, while Shawn Michaels will do the duties for Smackdown. All the picks are recapped, concluding with the momentous return of five time world champion Kurt Angle which was derailed by an attack from The Shield. We flash inside the Wells Fargo Center where the new Smackdown exclusive broadcast team of Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcome us to night two of the WWE Draft!

After a brief recap of the past week and a preview of tonight's action, “You Can Look But You Can't Touch” summons new Raw GM Nikki Bella to the stage where she waits. “Sexy Boy” hits next which brings out the illustrious Shawn Michaels to a big pop. After some showboating he comes up to the podium where the two newly appointed General Managers will make their selections tonight.

Michaels says that after a historic first night on Raw, he gets the honor of kicking off night two of drafting and though there are a lot of worthy superstars still on the board, he's always lived by the mantra “go big or go home”, so his first pick will be none other than:

Big Show’s music blares and the monstrous superstars appears, looking as if he's in a foul mood tonight. Show makes a beeline to the podium where he orders his music stopped. He says that at WrestleMania, he was disrespected and his whole year was wasted when he agreed to team with Sheamus and the cowardly Randy Orton who caused his team to lose their match with The Shield. So, he did what he felt he had to do, and gave Orton a knockout punch after the match, just to remind him who the biggest baddest guy in the place is. This past Monday on Raw, Orton stuck his nose where it didn't belong and once again caused him to take a loss. Show says that he isn't going to take this kind of disrespect lying down, and invites Orton out to settle this thing face to face.

Not needing any more invitation, “Voices” hits and The Viper arrives! Michaels tries to keep things civil and come between them but it's no use. The two men collide and begin brawling on stage! Show spears Orton into the stage set up and begins delivering blows his midsection until Orton hits a thumb to the eye and lands an uppercut to send Show stumbling back. Orton takes Show down with his patented Thesz Press and begins to rain down blows until security arrives to pull them apart. Michaels gets on the mic once the two men are separated and announces that they'll get the chance to settle their differences later tonight, as they go one on one here in Philly! Smackdown goes to commercial as security tries to restore order.

We return from commercial for Raw’s sixth pick…

With the next pick for Monday Night Raw, Nikki Bella stands at the podium, ready to make her first pick of the night as she announces that she is drafting a champion… and he is the WWE Intercontinental Champion...

Miz’s music hits and out he walks with the title draped over his shoulder. Miz steps up to the podium and you can hear the resentment in his tone as he talks about finally getting drafted and how waiting this long will only be the motivation he will use to continue his ride to becoming the greatest Intercontinental Champion. While Miz looks to keep a genuine smile, you can see on his face that he is bothered by this. His music hits as Smackdown prepares for the next pick.

HBK returns to the podium and says despite things getting out of hand earlier with Big Show and Orton, he loves to see rivalries taking shape and he wants to bring more intensity to Smackdown. Therefore his next pick is someone with some serious beef with World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, his opponent from WrestleMania 29, “The Real American”!

Jack Swagger’s music plays and he and his manager Zeb Colter arrive to a chorus of boos. Colter makes his way to the microphone to share some thoughts. He says he is happy that Swagger has been drafted to Smackdown, the brand of opportunities! He says he has much respect for Michaels and believes he will be a fitting leader for the show. Colter says step one for Michaels to restore Smackdown to its former glory is grant Jack Swagger a rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship so that they can get the belt off that “outsider” Del Rio and on to a true American, who these fans can be proud to call their champion! He alleges that Del Rio not only brandished a weapon towards him last night, threatening to assault him with a crutch, but he also took advantage of a distraction caused by his “amigo” Ricardo Rodriguez to defeat Swagger… so not only is he a violent criminal, but he's also a gutless coward, and there's no place in the great nation of America for those two things!

Michaels asks for a mic from the ring crew to address Colter. He says that he drafted Swagger because he's an impeccable athlete with all the tools in the world to succeed. Michaels says he believes that Swagger can once again win the World Heavyweight Championship and build a lasting legacy for himself on Smackdown. But, that's all up to how willing he is to put in the work! In America, opportunities are not given out. They are earned, or created. Anyone can succeed in this nation, it just requires a commitment. So, Michaels will consider giving Swagger another match with Del Rio, but only once he proves he is worthy of it! Colter says he hears Michaels loud and clear. If there's anything that Colter and Swagger are, it's fair. He promises that Swagger will show HBK exactly what he's made of, and HBK will be begging to have him as his champion! Swagger’s music hits and the two “Real Americans” head off to the back.

Hunico and Camacho vs. Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd

    Match Summary

Starting us off tonight is a contest featuring two high flying tag teams. The bell rings and Hunico takes control with a kick to Gabriel's midsection followed by some clubs, before sending him off the ropes and taking him out with a spinning heel kick on the rebound. He drags him to the corner where he and Camacho take turns tagging in and out while stomping Gabriel and keeping him trapped in the corner. Camacho, the legal man, takes a break from the stomping to suddenly rushes across the ring and rams Kidd off the apron. He turns around to Gabriel going for a clothesline but Camacho ducks and catches him with a back suplex. Camacho picks up his opponent and puts him in a front facelock, dragging him back to his corner where he tags in Hunico again. Hunico hops in and lands a kick into Gabriel's exposed midsection before he and Camacho land a double snap suplex which only garners a two count. We take a commercial break mid-match as Cole says things are not looking good for Kidd and Gabriel.

Back to the action, we find Hunico with Gabriel in a headlock on the mat. The crowd wills Gabriel to fight up to his feet where he elbows himself free from Hunico’s clutches. He looks for a kick but his foot is caught, so he improvises, trying an enziguri, but Hunico ducks that as well. Gabriel instead performs a roll which whips Hunico forward towards Kidd who plants him with a forearm from the apron. Hunico stumbles back into a school boy pin from Gabriel but that gets just a two count as well. Gabriel tries to make it over to tag Kidd but Hunico catches his foot and pulls him back to his own corner where Camacho tags himself in. Camacho and Hunico put the boots to Gabriel for a while before Hunico pulls him up and places him in a full nelson. Camacho winds up for a sucker punch, but Gabriel slips out of Hunico’s grip just in time to cause Camacho to hit Hunico. Gabriel hits a roundhouse kick to Camacho’s abdomen and then grabs his head, jumps, and kicks off of Hunico to perform a tornado DDT/dropkick combo to take out both men and bring the crowd alive.

Gabriel begins crawling to make the hot tag. He is within inches but Camacho makes it up and drops and elbow on Gabriel's back. He pulls him up and goes for a suplex, but Gabriel counters out, landing on his feet behind Camacho. He dropkicks Camacho in the back which knocks him into the turnbuckle where Kidd is. Gabriel gets up and finally makes the tag which brings in the fresh Tyson Kidd. Kidd bounces Camacho’s face off the top turnbuckle pad, sending him down to the mat on his butt. Kidd squares him up and lands a big kick to Camacho’s chest followed by a standing moonsault. Hunico tries to come in for a cheap shot but Kidd dodges his superkick and lifts him into a fireman’s carry before Samoan dropping him right on top of his partner. Hunico rolls out to the floor. Kidd tags Gabriel, who goes to the top rope and soars in for a 450 splash followed by the pin and 1-2-3!

Winners via Pinfall: Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd

After the match, Gabriel and Kidd celebrate while Hunico and Camacho retreat to the back scornfully. King and Cole both say that this is a big win for these two guys who are hoping to get drafted to Raw or Smackdown so that they can move up from NXT, where they've been spending most of their time recently. King says he'd definitely take these guys if he was running his own show.

Meanwhile backstage, Renee Young is standing by to have a word with Michael McGillicutty. Renee says McGillicutty has been spending the past few months down in NXT but with the draft taking place, he may soon be competing exclusively for Raw or Smackdown. She asks where he hopes to go and what his plans will be when and if he returns to the main roster. He stands for a moment, mulling over the question. He removes the microphone from her hand, looks at the camera, then back at Renee. McGillicutty says first of all, his time in NXT has been great, it has reignited his competitive fire and driven him to earn his keep on either Raw or Smackdown. As far as where he hopes to land, it doesn't matter. He has faith in himself that he can dominate Mondays or Fridays, and he'd be grateful for the opportunity to restart his career on either show. As a final matter of business, moving forward he no longer wants to be known as Michael McGillicutty. Michael McGillicutty was a name made up by WWE. He was a pawn in the Nexus. He was a follower. He was just another face in the crowd. For now on, he will be honoring his family’s legacy while paving a way for himself, and he shall be known as Curtis Axel! He says that today is the beginning of something special, he can feel it, and he's going to make it happen, whether the WWE Universe believes in him or not.

Nikki Bella is back at the podium after the commercial break and she is all smiles. Nikki talks about scouting the wrestling world to find the absolute best talent possible for Monday Night Raw, and she has done just that, as the next draft pick for Raw in the 2013 WWE Draft is none other than…

The WWE Universe goes ape shit as AJ Styles is one of the top wrestlers in the world outside of the WWE and has always been a dream scenario for him to finally land in the WWE. The crowd can not believe it. The lights go out as “I AM. PHENOMENAL!” appears on the titantron. Out comes AJ Styles and the crowd is ecstatic as they break out a “this is awesome” chant. Finally AJ gets a chance to speak, and he announces that the Phenomenal One is here... and that the WWE will never be the same! Short and to the point for AJ Styles as he heads to the back with the crowd still jacked!

The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels approaches the podium and looks shocked as well, even letting out a “wow” and complimenting Nikki before continuing with his pick. Michaels states that his next pick will continue his pattern of bringing former world champions to the blue brand, and his pick is a guy that reminds him of himself. A former tag team star who broke out in singles competition, becoming a show stealer and always displaying the heart of a champion!

“Close Your Eyes” hits as Captain Charisma arrives to adoration from the WWE Universe. He thanks Shawn for the kind words and the opportunity. He promises to return to prominence and always give the fans 100 percent, just like he has for the past decade! He lays out his goals for the next year which include regaining the World Heavyweight Championship and delivering several match of the year candidates, all for the peeps! Christian’s music plays him out as we fade to commercial.

    Yoshi Tatsu vs. Zack Ryder

    Match Summary

The new look and new attitude Yoshi Tatsu looks across the ring from Ryder as Ryder is trying to impress and get himself drafted tonight. The match and starts as Ryder lets out a “WOO! WOO! WOO!” but out of nowhere Yoshi sprints across and hits a bicycle knee strike! He follows with a stiff spin kick! Down goes Ryder as Yoshi covers for the 1.... 2.... 3!

    Winner via Pinfall: Yoshi Tatsu

After the match, the announcers put over how quick of work Yoshi just made of Zack Ryder. Whatever this new attitude that has gotten into Tatsu, he looks like a new person and seems to have a dangerous vibe to him as he just knocked Zack Ryder to next week.

We’re in the back once again where Renee Young has United States Champion Antonio Cesaro with her. Renee puts over Cesaro being one of the top picks of the draft year and asks how it makes him feel to be bringing his title to Smackdown. Cesaro gives his honest feelings, that he feels like he deserved to be drafted on the first night, and Shawn Michaels made an excellent choice. Now, he looks to bring his game to a whole new level and become the new face of friday nights! About that time the tyrannical trio of Mr. Money in the Bank Dolph Ziggler, Big E Langston and AJ Lee roll up as Ziggler takes the lead. He says he would wish Cesaro the very best but honestly the odds are against him already. Somehow, Cesaro has been drafted and Ziggler is still on the board. Yet Cesaro is simply the US Champion, while Ziggler will soon be holding the top belt on whichever show he ends up on, and once that happens, people will look back on Cesaro as nothing but a bust! Cesaro tells him to put up or shut up, but Ziggler suggests that Cesaro instead prove his merit by defending his title against Big E tonight. After a bit of a staredown, Cesaro says he'll take on anyone, and he'll gladly face Big E tonight, and put his title on the line, because that's what kind of champion he is! Ziggler smirks and his gang brushes past Cesaro aa we return to the stage..

Nikki Bella back at the podium and announces that she is looking to assemble the best roster possible and with her next pick she does just that as Raw’s next draft pick will be none other than the "Master of the 619"

Out comes Rey, and he talks about how much he loved Smackdown as Smackdown was where he got his first break in the WWE but now that he is on Raw, he looks at the competition that is stacking over there, and he will show that he still has it. Rey tells the roster that they better watch out... Rey stops himself mid sentence and talks about Kurt's attack on Raw by the hands of The Shield. He calls Kurt a personal friend and says that what those cowards did was uncalled for and Kurt will have back up in Rey and The Shield better watch out. The announcers put over how maybe it wasn't smart for Rey to call out the Shield like that because you never know when they might strike. He definitely put a bullseye on his back. However, his music hits and he is able to exit unscathed, for now.

Michaels takes over the podium, and announces that he is taking the first chance on an NXT superstar with his next pick. This guy has had a great career before coming to WWE and has proven in his time in NXT that he can hold his own against the world's finest.

The crowd seems stunned but applaud the pick. “The Knockout Artist” comes out hyped up and gives HBK a quick hug. He gets to the podium and says he couldn't be happier, and though even he is surprised to hear his name called here tonight, this is what he's been working towards for more than fifteen years and he is not going to let Shawn or the WWE Universe down! His music plays as poses for the crowd and continues to get them pumped up.

    Randy Orton vs. Big Show

    Match Summary

The ref struggles to keep the two separated long enough to start the match. Once the bell rings, both guys go head on at each other, with Show getting the best of Orton. He utilizes a slow and grueling pace to grind down on Orton. Show executes many of his signature spots, including the big chops to Orton’s chest with his “hands like frying pans”, a sidewalk slam, and then a bearhug. At this point, the fans have turned on Show, chanting “boring” as he talks smack right back at them.

Orton escapes the giant’s bearhug and lays into him with uppercuts before whipping him off the ropes and attempting a clothesline that barely staggers Show. Show swings a big paw at Orton, but The Viper ducks and kicks him in the back of the knee, dropping him down to one knee. Orton goes off the ropes himself but is lifted into a military press when he comes back, before being dropped stomach first from way above Show’s head. Orton rolls to the floor to gain his senses but Show is hot on his trail. The big man takes a bit too long responding to a heckler on the outside, and Orton comes flying in with a knee to the gut followed by multiple double axe handles to the back. Orton manages to lug Show up and slams him shoulder first into the turnbuckle. He gets on the apron and sizes Show up, jumping off with a big clothesline that manages to wipe Show out. Orton gets up energized and stalks Big Show until he gets to his knees, at which time he plants the giant with a DDT right on the floor!

Orton rolls in, then back out to break the count. He lets Show get up, and then drives Show back first into the apron several times. With a sudden surge of anger, Show lands a big club to Orton’s back, then slings him off of him. Show charges at Orton and goes for a big boot, but Orton dodges, which causes Show to straddle the barricade. Orton gets up and flies at Show with a clothesline which takes both men into the crowd where they begin brawling. Things comes to an abrupt ending as Orton avoids a Big Show spear which sends the 500 pounder crashing through the barricade! Orton, lying several feet away looks shocked, then grins deviously, as Show lies pretty much motionless in a pile of rubble. The referee soon calls for the bell, declaring a double count out.

    Draw via double count out

Orton gets up, makes his way over and stands over Show, insulting his rival and laughing at his misfortune. Medical help arrives on the scene to help Show out as Orton makes his way to the back looking pleased with the carnage.

A couple moments pass with the commentators stating that Show could have a concussion, a dislocated shoulder, or possibly worse. He snaps out of it though, and roars for the people checking on him to back off. He grabs the ref who was also standing by to check on him, snatching him by his collar and telling him he wasn't finished with Orton. The referee tries to explain he was just doing his job, but Show is irate, as he tosses the ref like a sack of potatoes into the barricade. Officials get in between him and the ref before Show can do anymore damage. Eventually, Show starts laughing and can be heard saying Orton is going to suffer! With that, we head to commercial..

Backstage AJ Styles is talking with some backstage officials, as several wrestlers walk up and introduce themselves and welcome AJ Styles to the WWE. Styles looks to be having the time of his life, finally here in the WWE and living it up. Styles is approached by new Raw backstage interviewer JoJo Offerman who welcomes AJ Styles to the WWE, but before the interview can proceed from there, in the picture steps WWE Intercontinental Champion, The Miz. The Miz offers a handshake to AJ and welcomes him to the WWE. The Miz tries to give AJ some advice about making it here in the WWE but AJ cuts him off and tells him thank you but he has it from here. The Miz sucks his teeth as he readjusts the IC title that his draped over his shoulder and walks off.

    United States Championship
Antonio Cesaro © vs. Big E Langston w/ Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee

    Match Summary

The opening minutes involve Cesaro and Big E challenging one another's strength. Big E hits a forearm to Cesaro’s chest which Cesaro responds to with an uppercut. They go back and forth with neither guy backing down. They then lock horns and battle for dominance, once again going back and forth with neither giving up much ground. They split up and then engage in a classic test of strength with their hands locked together. Cesaro gets the advantage which leads to Big E breaking the hold and kicking Cesaro in the gut, before driving him shoulder first into the corner. From there it's all Langston as he asserts his power on the disoriented champ, doing his best to keep Cesaro from getting a vertical base.

That lasts a couple minutes until Langston finally lets Cesaro up, and goes for a big dropkick, but Cesaro backs out of range causing Langston to land with a thud on his back. Cesaro grabs the power lifter by his legs and unleashes his signature big swing on the 300 pounder! After close to 20 rotations he tosses Langston to much fanfare. He staggers back into the corner a bit dizzy while waiting for Langston to get up. Once he's up, Cesaro soars in with a flying spinning uppercut which takes Langston down. He peels him off the mat and then takes him up, driving him down with an impressive power slam! He pins, only to get a two count. Cesaro locks in a rear chin lock to allow himself some time to breath and continue wearing down Langston. Langston however summons his strength and pulls Cesaro’s hands apart, works his way up to his feet and then tosses Cesaro over his head. He measures Cesaro up and picks him up for The Big Ending, but Cesaro counters out and gives Langston a huge German suplex! Cesaro then begins setting up for The Neutralizer which prompts Dolph to jump on the apron and cause a distraction. Cesaro grabs Dolph and pulls him into the ring with a hip toss. He measures up Ziggler and Langston and comes at them for a double clothesline but they duck and he continues off the opposite ropes. He bounces back and also ducks a double clothesline attempt from Langston and Ziggler, springboards off the second rope, and flies in to finally take out the two of them with a soaring double clothesline. Ziggler rolls outside and Cesaro once again measures up Big E for The Neutralizer, until AJ Lee sneaks in and takes Cesaro out with a low blow from behind!

Winner via DQ and still United States Champion: Antonio Cesaro

As the match gets thrown out, it turns into a full fledged ambush, as Big E and AJ gang up on Cesaro, and are then joined by Ziggler.

It's three on one for a good minute until the crowd suddenly lights up and the camera pans over to the ramp to show Kassius Ohno booking it to the ring! The trio realize that Kassius is here for reinforcements and decide to get out of dodge, dispersing to the outside as Kassius slides in the ring. He stands over Cesaro daring them to come get some. Ziggler laughs and waves him off as he leads his crew to the back. Cesaro gets up and sees that Ohno has come to his rescue. Ohno lifts Cesaro up and the two stare at each other for a moment as the crowd starts to cheer. Cole mentions that these two have an extensive history that goes back before their WWE days. Finally, after a moment, the two hug and raise each other's hands in the air as the crowd goes wild. They then celebrate on the turnbuckle and soak in the applause of the crowd as Cole says this is a reunion for two guys who worked together for years to make it here to the WWE. We head to commercial as Cesaro and Ohno continue their celebration.

Back from commercial, Raw’s GM Nikki Bella is back at the podium and she makes things short and sweet with her next pick as she drafts..

Out come the Usos who look hyped up that they were selected by Nikki as they find themselves among impressive company. The Usos talk about heading to Raw and taking things to a whole nother level, and that is claiming some tag team gold. The two celebrate as they head to the back, officially among the members of Monday Night Raw.

This prompts Shawn Michaels to come back for his next pick. He says he has already brought so many former world champions and surefire Hall of Famers to the brand, but now he is bringing in someone that, as much as he hates to admit it, could one day climb to the top of the mountain and cement a legacy for himself as well.

“HALLELUJAH” is heard throughout the Wells Fargo Center as “The Intellectual Savior of the Masses” arrives in his signature robe, oozing arrogance. When he reaches the podium he tells Michaels that he once questioned his intellect, but this pick has proven that he is smarter than he looks! Sandow takes a moment to rip on his former partner Cody Rhodes who was drafted to Raw earlier this week, and states that the next chapter in the Sandow’s story will be worthy of a Pulitzer Prize, as he ascends to his rightful spot atop the pile of illiterate and unwashed muck that the WWE calls a roster! The fans pelt him with boos as he exits once more to his music, taking a bow before heading off.

We return from commercial break to find former Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett already in the ring with a microphone, looking none too pleased. He goes on a rant about the televised portion of the draft nearly being over and yet somehow he hasn't been picked. He says he is sickened by the unjust treatment he has received since coming to WWE but instead of complaining or begging to be picked, he's calling out anyone backstage who wants to come out and be made it into example! Just then, the signature horns of Alberto Del Rio’s theme music come on and out comes the champ to cheers from the audience. He is flanked by his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez who does his patented introduction before Del Rio gets on the mic and says the only to make it in WWE is to win matches and prove yourself. Del Rio says he's feeling charitable tonight so he'll do the honors of facing Barrett and giving him the chance to make a real name himself..

Alberto Del Rio vs. Wade Barrett

    Match Summary

The beginning of the match is dominated by Del Rio using his quickness to avoid Barrett’s attacks, while getting in low kicks to Barrett’s legs. After bailing out of the corner and dodging the stampeding Barrett who crashes into the turnbuckle himself, Del Rio takes down the Brit with an arm drag into a fujiwara armbar. Barrett displays his technical chops and slips out, into a sleeper hold of his own. Del Rio counters out of the sleeper, sweeps Barrett’s legs and puts him in an Indian deathlock. Once again, Barrett escapes, rolls out and quickly throws Del Rio into a single leg Boston crab. He is forced to unleash the hold when Del Rio reaches the ropes, but Barrett is sure to milk the 5 count before relinquishing.

He then pulls Del Rio up to hit a gutwrench suplex into a pinfall attempt to avail. He sends Del Rio off the ropes and hits a backbreaker which he transitions into a stretch over his knee. Del Rio gets a boot up to connect with Barrett’s dome, forcing him to let go. The champ attempts to throw on the cross armbreaker but it's blocked. Barrett manages to lift Del Rio up and drop him in somewhat of a powerbomb, which yet again gets him a two count. Barrett backs up into the corner and pulls his elbow pad off, signaling for The Bull Hammer. Del Rio gets to his feet, a bit dizzy, and Barrett comes rushing in. In a sudden fluid motion, Del Rio counters The Bull Hammer into the cross armbreaker which Barrett has no choice but to tap out too, despite resisting for several moments.

Winner via Submission: Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio celebrates his win with Ricardo Rodriguez and his big gold belt.

Suddenly, the music of “The Real American” Jack Swagger pounds over the PA, and out comes Swagger and Colter. Colter gets on the mic and calls out Del Rio to put his belt on the line against Swagger one more time, guaranteeing that Del Rio can't defeat his stud again. The champ laughs and says Swagger can't touch him between the ropes, but since he is in such a great mood and a generous champion, he will put in a good word with Shawn Michaels to make a rematch happen. Just at the moment though, Barrett blindsides Del Rio with an attack from behind. He stomps on The Pride of Mexico before tossing him out of the ring. Barrett pulls the top off the announce table and hoists Del Rio up before delivering a huge Wasteland through the table! Barrett poses and laughs at his handy work as Colter and Swagger look on from the stage and the fans rain down boos. As we cut to commercial, the camera focuses in on Ricardo checking on his best friend who is lying in waste. Barrett picks up the belt and looks at it, then at Del Rio, then at Swagger, and once again laughs deviously.

Nikki Bella is out to make the final draft pick for Raw for the night, as the rest of the roster will be done in a supplemental draft to finish things off officially. Nikki talks about her last pick tonight is her saving the best for last and perfect that this pick will be made on Smackdown, as this superstar is considered the soul of Smackdown, but now, he is on Raw. This man is 21-0 at Wrestlemania... "The Phenom" THE UNDERTAKER!

The crowd goes crazy like they would at the mention of the Undertaker and the announcers put over how big of a pick this is as Taker has always been a stable to Smackdown, but now he is on Raw. This was a spiteful pick made by Nikki as she now has The Undertaker on Raw. Of course, Taker isn't here as his music hits and a image of him officially being drafted to Raw appears on the titantron as the pick is officially done for Raw.

Shawn Michaels claps as he comes to the podium. He says Nikki has done a remarkable job with the draft, and pulled out several shocking picks. He says he's still got one trick up his sleeve himself, for his final pick here tonight. The man he's about to draft is revered worldwide, respected by everyone in the business, and somebody that is going to make Smackdown more exciting than it's ever been before! His pick is…

    “FAN-DAN-GO!”

At that moment the unmistakable ballroom entrance theme of Fandango blares throughout the arena. The man himself soon appears through the curtain with his dance partner Summer Rae. He does a waltz all the way past Michaels and Bella, down the ramp and into the ring. He finishes off his routine and then requests a microphone. Fandango smirks as he thanks the fans as well as Shawn Michaels. He thought for a moment that Michaels was actually going to let him slip but he brilliantly waited for his final pick to make this groundbreaking selection to guarantee that the WWE Universe tunes into Smackdown each and every week to see Fandango perform!

Michaels on the stage tells Fandango sorry, but he is not using his 10th pick on him. His final pick of the night is a man who he personally scouted and signed, a man know internationally as “The Real Rock ‘n’ Rolla”... FINN! BALOR!

The lights drop in the arena as metal music begins playing and the stage becomes consumed with fog. Bright flashes cut through the darkness as the music ramps up before finally the arena is fully illuminated by bright white lights and a man in all black attire with a leather jacket stands on the ramp with his arms spread out. The fans go crazy at the sight of the man formerly known throughout Europe and Japan as Prince Devitt. He stays still in his pose until the music fades and the lights come back up, at which time Michaels comes over to shake his hand.

Fandango, furious in the ring, starts throwing a tantrum, claiming he has been robbed and questioning who this man is and what he has done to deserve to be picked over him. All the while, Balor says nothing, he just watches Fandango throw a fit with a smirk on his face. Fandango says he's had enough of this disrespect! He has beaten Chris Jericho and Big Show in the past week, and now he's calling out Balor to come face him right now so he can prove that he's the rightful pick here. Balor initially shakes his head and laughs but after a bit more trash talk from Fandango, Balor begins marching to the ring, taking off his jacket as he goes.

    Finn Balor vs. Fandango

    Match Summary

Fandango gives Balor no chance at a fair fight, jumping on him and delivering clubbing blows as Balor enters the ring. The bell sounds to officially start things while Fandango backs Balor into the corner and stomps a mudhole in him. He backs out and does his signature pelvic gyration before zooming back towards Balor only to get a boot to the mouth. Balor takes advantage of the opening, taking Fandango down with a chop block, popping up and going off the ropes, and coming back with a big running knee strike!

Now in control, Balor locks Fandango in an octopus stretch for a minute, but decides to release it and head upstairs. Fandango resiliently darts up to his feet and takes Balor’s feet out from under him, hanging him up on the top turnbuckle. Fandango delivers a good looking kick to the side or Balor’s head which makes the debuting superstar tumble down to the mat. Fandango then goes for a pin but can only get a one count. He angrily starts punching Balor in the head until the ref forces him to back off.

The cocky Fandango begins showing off, feeling good about himself. As he turns around though, he catches a spinning leg sweep from Balor that drops him face first on the mat. In an instant, Balor jumps up and leaps into the air before planting a double foot stomp into Fandango’s back, driving all the air out of him! Fandango rolls away to recover, catching his breath in the corner. As he recovers and takes his first step out of the corner, Balor flashes across the ring with a huge front dropkick that blasts Fandango back into the turnbuckle with force! The commentary team inform us that's one of The Real Rock ‘n’ Rolla’s signature moves, The Shotgun Dropkick. Balor is back to his feet and moves towards Fandango who is barely conscious but begging for mercy. Balor gives him knee square in the face before pulling out from the corner and hitting a single underhook brainbuster known as the 1916! He rolls the limp body of Fandango over and gets an easy three count for the win!

    Winner via Pinfall: Finn Balor

At the conclusion of the match, Balor stands up and strikes his arms spread pose once again, standing triumphantly over Fandango. The lights once again dim down and the flashes of brightness resume as his music hits. The camera zooms in as he brings his eyes down from the ceiling and stares into the camera, cracking a subtle grin. Cole and King put over the devastating display of offense and how Balor has just sent a resounding message to the WWE Universe without saying even one word.

Cole and King say next week, the Smackdown roster will be established. Shawn Michaels has already promised to address Big Show’s attack on an official, as well as make an announcement pertaining to the World Heavyweight Championship as well as the other titles on Smackdown. Next week is the beginning of the newest and potentially most epic chapter in Smackdown’s history… Don't miss it!

    RAW THOUGHTS

The majority of this show and I'm guessing the Smackdown that follows will be draft based.

Usually you expect Raw to go with star name power over wrestling ability but with Willis at the helm it looks like Raw have mixed it up with Punk, Lesnar, Shield, Rhodes and Angle all pretty capable in the ring. Getting some miles out of Angle in this period will be golden and will push The Shield right up the card and rub off big on them.

The Rhodes-Flair combination will certainly be interesting down the line. Surely Ric Flair will come back into the fold and it will be intriguing to see how he reacts, not just with Flair and Cody but also with Dusty.

Sheamus losing to Yoshi Tatsu was a great way to start the Yoshi Porject off. Was a very talented guy but could not really get over due to his size. I'm guessing there will definitely be a Celtic Warrior reaction to this defeat.

Also I'm keen to see what happens when CM Punk returns. 2013 was the final full year we got of him and it will be interesting to see where he lands, whether he feuds with Lesnar like in reality, and whether he tries to get the title shot Nikki Bella promised him at the top of tonight's show.

Smackdown seem to have gone down their traditional route of workhorse superstars and Bryan will be the big guy to watch out for. I'm also feeling Ziggler will head over here as I don't see him staying in the main event long if he is a Raw superstar. My biggest annoyance is we won't get Bryan/Angle this side of Summerslam, if at all.

    SMACKDOWN THOUGHTS

A lot more to talk about draft wise on Smackdown although this will be short and sweet from me.

Styles and Balor. I'm guessing they are your big free agent picks although I'm hoping both are kept at the midcard/upper midcard for the forseeable future as neither are as big as they are when they actually joined the WWE. Also this is odd timing as both Styles and Balor were involved in the middle of big storylines involving Aces & Eights and the formation of The Bullet Club at this time. Intriguing to say the least but I'm a huge fan of both if you read my work.

Introducing Ohno to Cesaro is stealing my ideas and I'm telling!!! But seriously it looks like a great start for Ohno, although deep down part of me feels like he's going to turn on Cesaro and start a feud with his former fellow King. Seems like the perfect story with Cesaro already achieving success without his friend that he left behind.

Hoping that Kidd and Gabriel become a staple of the tag team division around this time. Both are pretty talented in the ring and using them in the tag division is better for both of them rather than them being jobbers to the stars of the heavyweight division.

Speaking of heavyweights The Undertaker heading to Raw is big news and it will be interesting to see who his first feud is with. Will the seeds for Lesnar/Taker start to be sewn here.

Finally the main event scene looks very balanced with Del Rio, Swagger, Barrett and possibly Dolph Ziggler heading it up. Funnily we got Barrett holding up the World title and he doesn't even know if he will be on that brand. Supplemental draft should be fun to read.

Overall guys two very enjoyable draft shows and it will be exciting to see the rosters fill out and how the shows move forward now that they are solo. Right now very excited by Styles, Balor, Ohno and The Shield moving forward. Keep it up!!!

Just give me the damn wooden spoon already!!!

First of all, thanks for the feedback bro.

As far as Balor goes, I believe The Bullet Club wasn't created yet, or it was just created at this time, but regardless, you would have to assume WWE negotiates with incoming talents weeks if not months in advance. There wasn't really any clear chance to mention that without giving away the surprise, but yeah, that's the story I'm going with.

I knew someone had to have done the Kings reunion at some point but eh, fuck it. They're one of my all time favorite teams. Hopefully I can tell a different story from you and make it something you can enjoy and appreciate.

I mean, I don't guess it's a big deal but slight spoiler: Kidd and Gabriel are coming to SD and I definitely want to make them impactful and give them more to work with than WWE ever did. As far as what exactly that entails, you're just gonna have to tune in to see.

Good observation about Barrett. I definitely thought about cutting that part but I kinda rationalized in two ways: first, him holding the title is sending a message that no matter what, regardless of where he goes, his eyes are on a world title and putting the WHC through the table is sending that message that he isn't messing around. And secondly, Michaels stated that he wants to bring intensity and hot rivalries to SD, so Barrett is basically trying to show that he belongs on the blue brand and wants to come for Del Rio's strap.

I feel good about my top guys and have plans to elevate some mid carders too while I'm at it. I think I have a competitive show and believe that SD will be looked at as the brand with potential for great matches any given week.

On another note, the supplemental draft results will be posted later today. Be sure to check it out.

    2013 Supplemental Draft
    RESULTS, INSIGHT and ANALYSIS

The 2013 Draft which took place this week on Raw and Smackdown featured just 20 of the 50 total picks that Raw and Smackdown made, but there was no shortage of twists of turns. In fact, with the stunning debuts of AJ Styles (Raw) and Finn Balor (Smackdown) as well as the return of multi-time World Champion Kurt Angle (Raw) there's very little doubt that this was the most historic and eventful draft in WWE history. Surprise appearances aside even, things seem to be progressing rapidly as Raw and Smackdown again embark on their own journeys as stand-alone brands. The Shield sent a resounding message by triple powerbombing The Olympic Hero through the announce table. Randy Orton avenged his knockout at the hands of Big Show costing him a match with Fandango, and their match on Smackdown spiraled into chaos leading to a referee being attacked. AJ Styles dismissed Intercontinental Champion The Miz. Kassius Ohno reunited with former partner Antonio Cesaro. Cody Rhodes even took a run at John Cena’s throne and came within milliseconds of winning the WWE Championship.

At the conclusion of Smackdown, new GMs Nikki Bella and Shawn Michaels sat down in a boardroom to divide the rest of the roster. Here are the results of the 2013 WWE Supplemental Draft:

    1. Dolph Ziggler - Raw
    2. Wade Barrett - Smackdown
    3. Kaitlyn - Raw
    4. Kofi Kingston - Smackdown
    5. Ryback - Raw
    6. Big E Langston - Smackdown
    7. AJ Lee - Raw
    8. Curtis Axel - Smackdown
    9. Charlotte Flair - Raw
    10. Fandango - Smackdown
    11. Yoshi Tatsu - Raw
    12. Evan Bourne - Smackdown
    13. Brie Bella - Raw
    14. Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel - Smackdown
    15. Sheamus - Raw
    16. Brian Kendrick - Smackdown
    17. Bray Wyatt - Raw
    18. Drew McIntyre - Smackdown
    19. Jay and Mark Briscoe - Raw
    20. Sin Cara - Smackdown
    21. Mark Henry - Raw
    22. Heath Slater - Smackdown
    23. Zack Ryder - Raw
    24. R-Truth - Smackdown
    25. William Regal - Raw
    26. Primo and Epico - Smackdown
    27. Natalya - Raw
    28. Santino Marella - Smackdown
    29. Tamina - Raw
    30. Hunico and Camacho - Smackdown

These picks add an extra layer of intrigue and begin to bring things into focus.

First, the Divas Championship is headed to Raw with Kaitlyn. Nikki Bella doubled down and scooped up almost all the remaining women on the roster while she was at it, giving Monday Nights a pretty deep division to lean on. On the other hand, it's notable that Shawn Michaels drafted no women, but did round up nearly all the high flyers on the board, adding fuel to rumors that the Cruiserweight Championship will soon be revived.

Also, the trio of Dolph, Big E and AJ Lee seems to have been dispersed with Langston hesding to Friday nights although Ziggler and Lee will remain together on Raw. Wade Barrett, who attacked World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio was taken with Smackdown’s first pick of the Supplemental Draft, seemingly proving that he made an impression on HBK on Smackdown. Fandango also got picked by Smackdown so his efforts seemingly didn't go unnoticed despite losing to Balor in the latter’s debut. Furthermore, the red hot Yoshi Tatsu is headed to Monday Night Raw after reeling off two big wins in one week since WrestleMania.

It doesn't look like Bella and Michaels had their fill of fresh talent either as Nikki brought in NXT’s Bray Wyatt as well as accomplished indy tag team The Briscoe Brothers, who will without a doubt light a fire in Raw’s tag team division. On the Smackdown side of things, Shawn Michaels picked up Brian Kendrick who has been out of WWE since 2009. Kendrick is a former Cruiserweight, WWE Tag Team and World Tag Team Champion and was trained by none other than Smackdown GM Shawn Michaels. After two previous runs in WWE, perhaps the third time will be the charm for “Spanky”.

Now that the draft is officially in the books, the roster as well as the General Managers will look ahead and begin plotting for the future. There are many scores still to be settled and legacies to be made. Starting this Monday night, the WWE begins a new era. Join us on a our next journey as the brand split officially returns and new stories are written. The draft was chock full of surprises, but don't expect the OMG moments to end now. This is just the beginning of something special.

Nice show enjoy the draft and think you got a pretty even roster SD def seems to be the newer blood show though I loved to see Shield on SD imo but I digress, everything here is so clean easy to read and you seem to be known as a good btb Rhodes & Flair married huh well that is unique and could be very intriguing going forward. Team Hell No as first pick that was not something I saw coming but bringing AJ and Finn in should be interesting considering this is pre bullet club right? Sandow Swagger and few others should get chance to shine more then they did in real life

Re: The Tale Of II Brands: A BTB Event

    Smackdown Review

    - First off I just want to commend you on the overall presentation and visual layout of both RAW and Smackdown. It is not too much in your face, but just enough to keep the reader engaged throughout the entire show. I also really like the recap at the beginning of the show (this Smackdown episode specifically) because it allows the reader to come in virtually at any time and jump right into the story and will be caught up to date. Right now it's not that big of a deal because it's still in the beginning stages, but a year down the line when you're on episode 48 or something, I can imagine that feature will be extremely helpful for new viewers. But on to the show...

    - I just want to say that you have both Michaels and Bella pinned perfectly, as I could actually picture Michaels in my head coming out to start the show off with the first draft pick. Very interesting first pick here on Smackdown too, but I like it! You are positioning Show to be a major player going forward and the brawl between him and Orton really solidified it for me. Show had a very strong promo that explained why he attacked Orton and the reasoning made sense, especially with Show getting to a point in his career where he needs to utilize as much time as possible. I can imagine there would be a lot of emotions running through Show, especially if he did feel indeed like his whole year was wasted because of Orton. Great building of The Shield too. They are being booked as an absolute powerhouse right now and even while others like Show and Orton are moving into big roles while being losers, The Shield are still looking unstoppable and almost unbeatable. Michaels trying to restrain Show from Orton is very believable as well and sells the hatred and revenge that Orton is trying to get back now against Big Show. Huge match announced too! I am definitely loving this already.

    - Solid picks for RAW and Smackdown with Miz going to RAW and Swagger going to Smackdown. Miz can bring over the IC belt to RAW and I don't know if you meant to put this idea out, but I could totally see the Miz being so upset that he was taken so late in the draft, and that he would have sort of a chip on his shoulder wanting to prove everyone wrong. "While Miz looks to keep a genuine smile, you can see on his face that he is bothered by this. His music hits as Smackdown prepares for the next pick." I am loving the detail of your facial expressions and nuances, it really brings your booker to life. Swagger is a good pick for Smackdown to continue the friction between him and Del Rio. Just solid booking and psychology. I personally loved Zeb during this time and felt that he was a great buffer for Swagger, who doesn't have the best promo skills but is still a damn good pure wrestler. Zeb's promo was on point with him trying to suck up to Michaels in order to get his client another shot at Del Rio. I am glad that you let the moment just kind of resonate too without HBK giving them any real answer. It continues the build and I just wonder if Swagger now is gonna start mowing down people on Smackdown in order to prove his worth.

    - I know someone else said it before, but I am loving this pairing of Gabriel and Kidd. They both are a breath of fresh air for a tag team division that I feel was struggling during this time. I like the direction and building up as well that they are fighting for their opportunity to make it onto the main roster. This gives them purpose and makes sense. I really do hope that you continue to develop them and don't jump the gun too soon on giving them a tag team title shot. I would like to see you organically show their progress so that when they do take the titles it means that much more. The match itself was very well done with enough visual representation to bring you into the match itself.

    - Very solid promo from Axel here too. I like that he is trying to separate himself from the shadow of his family, while also showcasing the legacy that he continues to live out. "Another face in the crowd" hahaa I did always feel like that when he was in Nexus, but I think pushing him to the moon eventually will be straight up gold. He always had pretty good promo skills in my opinion, and he does have one of the best workers in the entire business as a father who passed on some of that wrestling skill to him. I am curious where you go with him because I always saw him as a great heel, but judging from this promo I can see you almost making him into that blue chipper third generation like babyface. Maybe a turn on the fans at some point though may just kick him over that mountain too though. Either way though very solid promo and nothing is said or done that is meaningless. That's one thing I have enjoyed about your project so far is that it seems as though if everything happens for a reason, even the "filler" is setting up something in the future. I'm not trying to sound like I'm on your nuts or anything haha but I definitely am liking the direction.

    - HOLY SHIT AJ STYLES!! I can just imagine the pop from the crowd once Styles was announced as a draft pick, including myself. I am curious to see what you do with him coming in since at this time he is WHITE HOT from his other shit going on in various promotions. Good idea to keep his first promo short and sweet, because it definitely comes off more powerful and leaves the fans at fever pitch wondering how he meshes into the WWE environment. I am so excited to see what you do with Styles though. That right there brought in a reader in me Christian is a good pick for Smackdown too, I almost hope for a resurgence, especially with guys like Del Rio chomping at the bit over there on the blue brand.

    - Hahahah poor Zack Ryder. I can't say I blame you for this squash match because it put Yoshi over huge, and Zack really wasn't what he would be at this time anyways. I know some people may be meh about it, but I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you plan on really developing Yoshi into a premier player.

    - Pretty big match announcement between Cesaro and Big E for the US title. The exchange between Ziggler and Cesaro was classic though, and I hope that you do something between these two in the future. In the ring it would be gold, but even in promos Ziggler would be a great heel foil for a strong babyface Cesaro. Definitely a smart move to have Cesaro build up his "fight anyone" mantra with the US Championship.

    - PLEASEEEE do something with Kassius. I think a lot of people may scratch their heads at this pick, but I think under the right conditions Kassius could be a huge star on the blue brand, especially with an HBK behind him. I was a little bummed he didn't have a promo necessarily, but I'm sure that is to come. Maybe less is better on his first night at least.

    - Bro, this FIGHT right here between Big Show and Orton might be my favorite segment of the night. These guys absolutely killed each other and the description you use during your matches really pulls a reader in. I could feel the hatred between Orton and Show here and the double count out finish allows them both to not get buried, and look as strong and psychotic as ever! That DDT on the floor too was absolutely sick! The visual of seeing Big Show crash through the barricade with his own spear is fucking awesome too. I just love everything about this segment, and I've always been somewhat of a Big Show hater for a few years now, but you might've restored my faith in that he could still be in a very interesting, entertaining, and physical program at this point in his career. I also really enjoy that you let the commentators just kind of sell the moment as a big deal and the uncertainity that Big Show may be seriously injured now. It definitely makes it mean more.

    - Just want to say The Miz is the PERFECT first opponent for AJ Styles. The interaction was simple and to the point, and was just smart booking 101 between these two. Miz once again will feel disrespected and I almost grimace for Styles here going forward with a rabid and insulted Miz lol

    - Wow very surprising turn of events, but just like the other surprises, I like it. Ohno coming to the defense of Cesaro is gonna give Ohno the rub that he needs and really builds them both as babyface superstars while building Ziggler and company as the total heels in this picture. The ambush after the match on Cesaro just made me hate Ziggler and company so much more and this is exactly what a heel is supposed to do.Definitely looking forward to seeing what you do with this Cesaro/Ohno pairing as well. I'd love to see it develop into something.

    - Hard hitting match between Del Rio and Barrett here! Barrett's promo at the beginning was gold too, and Del Rio's victory was the right decision to make to build up your champion. Nothing much else I can say about this other than you made the right decision on both parts. I can be assured though that Barrett is not going to take this very lightly. Barrett and the table spot was brilliantly done too in order to get Barrett back his heat. Colter and Swagger made me laugh here (in a good way) just loving Del Rio's pain.

    - Bella picking Undertaker was great haha, but I think biggest signing of the night finishes the show off with Finn Balor coming over to Smackdown. I almost had a heart attack when I thought the last pick was gonna be Fandango. Haha I was like "oh my gosh, what is this??" But you definitely over delivered with Finn coming over to Smackdown. I feel like this has so much potential to be a really amazing run for Finn and I think unlike real WWE, you definitely will not drop the ball after the NXT call up. I hope to see AJ and Finn at some point meet (even though they are on opposite brands) because they could have one hell of a program and you could maybe even delve into those Bullet Club roots. His match with Fandango was expected, but Fandango came across amazing in it as the chicken shit annoying Chris Jericho complaining like heel...and Finn came out looking stronger than ever to close a very dominant and superior Smackdown show.

I'm curious to see how you use Undertaker on RAW, with maybe even a potential AJ Styles/Undertaker feud. Overall though this over delivered my expectations. I have been meaning to take a gander at this for quite some time but I am glad that I finally did. 9/10 with very little to critique on this. Strong showing and now I'm curious to see where both RAW and SD goes from here.

You guys are killing it though and I look forward to the future!

Intrigued that you drafted Bray to Raw, as he hadn't debuted IRL yet. I could be wrong but I didn't see the rest of the family in the draft, are they a package deal or does he come up alone? And the Briscoes is an interesting pick that might have flown under the radar... Excited for Raw!
