I love Finlay but he’s never really been a great talker. I remember Smackdown had a house show here like 12 years ago and he cut just a terrible promo.

To catch up on the backlog essentially, now that the MYC is gone they've got an extra hour to fill on Wednesdays.

Makes sense...probably due another set of tapings to go down shortly then...especially if they plan on doing two a week.

Not caught the second one this week yet, but from the first effort I did enjoy Flash vs Coffey and Gibson vs Dar, two very good efforts indeed.

This is slowly becoming one of my favorite shows. I loved Dunne/Burch, there’s already been some bangers, and it’s just been a unique presentation.

Re: NXT UK General Discussion Thread

    sooo. Zack Gibson, yeah.
Liverpools number 1. (my number one) and NXT UK number one "bad guy" .

Now I know its early days and some guys are trying to make their name... but he is starting to stand out as the biggest star.. alongside Pete and Tyler. People seem to genuinely HATE him (which is a good sign) . I cant think of anyone recently getting a reaction like that except for maybe Ciampa, and ive never seen a crowd take their shoes off , such a bizarre thing to do, but I find it hilarious..

A signature win over Dar, and an exchange with Trent Severn probably means Gibson positioned in that top spot right now and is going up against the team of british strong style. Ultimately (I hope) endING up with a title victory in his hometown next month.. if not from Dunne himself, then the tag titles is an option, announcers were dropping hints about his partner, Mr Mayhem

Also I wanna know what people are thinking about the Coffee's , ive not seen much, but its always good to have a couple of bruisers to feud with the crowd pleasers of ... okay its mostly just Andrews carrying this, but when Travis gets back he will surely swing the odds. I've not been massively impressed so far, but I'm putting that down to matches involving Flash (don't like him) and the need to put the ruthlessness over, and are continuing with their unfair beatdowns now for story purposes....

Devlin Vs Ligero and Rhea Vs Dakota are my picks to watch from this week's double hitter.

Re: NXT UK General Discussion Thread

Watched Devlin vs Dunne for the UK title and I'm not sure what to think about it. Mixed feelings. Jordan Devlin was awesome. Everything he did looked great and impressed a ton. Dunne did not though. Not entirely sure what it was but everything he did during the match annoyed the hell out of me. His joint manipulation spots just came off as clunky, jarring and felt out of place. It never flowed within the match they were doing and felt he did the spot just to do the spot without much reason behind it, if you get what I mean. It came across as him going "now I'll do my arm stamp spot on the stairs now. And oh, I'll do it over here now". Dunno. He just felt off to me. And they didn't have much bearing on anything in the match which didn't help but it generally never does anyway.

It was one of those weird matches where one wrestlers was awesome and the other was not. Not sure what to make of it really. Anyone who is a fan of one or both of these guys, give this a watch. You'll get into the match much better than I did.

While I'm not in love with Dunne's arm stamp spot in every match either, I don't see much difference between Dunne doing it in different variations in one match, and Devlin doing a variant of the spanish fly 3 times in one match. Both sort of show a lack of ideas to fill 15 minutes of action.

I didn't see the issues you had with the match, I thought their performances were quite even and Devlin certainly wasn't outclassing Dunne, he just had the flashier moves. Really good main event better than anything I've seen on WWE programming this week. Think it's elevated Devlin to where if he gets another crack at the title, more fans will buy into the idea he might win.

Re: NXT UK General Discussion Thread

Dunne & Devlin was good stuff, if anything they purposely built a match where Devlin got more shine because he could use it a lot more than Dunne especially in WWE. Dunne was great for his role in the match, & was also apart of the best part of the next episode when BSS came together. Devlin was good too.

Wasn't too keen on Rhea/Toni but Toni's injury makes me not want to go too hard on it. Hope for the best for Rhea as champion until they pull the trigger on Toni down the line.

Binge watching through the past couple weeks of shows. Every week seems to get better and better (in my opinion). Loving the Coffey Bros / Wolfgang versus British Strong Style feud.

Did Nigel and Vic really try to tell us that GYV just started tagging?

Very good tag match this week/Takeover's tapings between European Union and Webster and Andrews. Aichner and Dieter obviously have been working hard on their act and coming up with double team moves, I came away really impressed with them. I'm now convinced this brand has 4 really good tag teams when at first I thought it was Mustache Mountain and everyone else.
