With the shakeup happening now and the Saudi Show a week beforehand I reckon this show is gonna be very half arsed in the end

If there was one thing to grumble about on SmackDown it was the baffling booking decision to revisit Orton/Mahal and not give Rusev the win over Roode.

I don't know why it took me so long to click, but Bank Holiday Monday PPV BAYBAY

Pleasantly surprised so far that the card is 6 singles matches and a tag. When they announced duel branded PPVs I was expecting multiman matches all over the place.

... but we're getting a pointlessly thrown together tag team match with zero consequences and very little importance other than getting Strowman and Lashley on the card, a ridiculously un-necessary Daniel Bryan match against Big Cass, a US title match ripped right out of 2008 and two interpromotional matches that are just gumming up the works for the guys involved and making it hard for them to advance on their respective brands.

All that, plus the fact that they sacrificed build for this card in order to jerk Saudi Arabia off last week and I'm excited about next to nothing on this card.

Joe/Reigns should be a good match but it got nothing to do with wrapping anything up or progressing forward so it really shouldn't be happening at all. I hope I'm proven wrong and this card delivers but as things stand I'm pretty sure I'll be skipping most of the matches.

Bayley vs. Ruby Riott on the Kickoff show. Should be decent. I'm a fan of Ruby in the opportunities she has been given.

Also I'm staying up for this as my work pattern allows me. Think it could be a very good show even if most of the results are extremely predictable.

    Re: WWE Backlash 2018 Discussion

All that, plus the fact that they sacrificed build for this card in order to jerk Saudi Arabia off last week and I'm excited about next to nothing on this card
Joe Vs Roman has been built since Raw after Mania
Cass Vs Bryan has been built since the superstar shakeup
Nakamura Vs AJ has been going on for months and turned up the heat after mania
Bliss Vs Nia has been going on for months and the moments of bliss started before the Saudi show
Charlotte Vs Carmella has been built since the SD after mania
Hardy Vs Orton has been built since the superstar shakeup episode of SD.

Look, I know you didn't like the decision to run the Saudi show, but what your saying is just false and you're doing it to take yet another shot at the Greatest Royal Rumble. There's been plenty of build to these matches that happened before the Saudi show, during the Saudi show and after the Saudi show.

I mean if anything, it was the Saudi show that was sacrificed TV time for build, there were matches that got no build whatsoever for that show.

    ---

I think it looks a really good show on paper. Hyped to watch it tonight.

Nothing really looks like it's going to be great. Should be a fine show. Maybe my low expectations means for a good show.

Reigns Vs Joe is still one of the best TV matches of the year for me, don't sleep on it.

What if the tag match is just an excuse for Strowman and Lashley to turn on each other and set up a feud? Wouldn't have a problem with that.

Looking forward to this show especially for Nak/Styles and Joe/Reigns.

I liked it but probably not as much as you did. It'll probably be good but right now, I'm not feeling anything towards the match.

Preshow time ladies and gentlemen and Renee Young is looking I mean

Forget using the Time Gem in Infinity War, just have Renee walk around the room and it could stop time just like that.

Are we all in majority that Cass has been a big fail since coming back? I never liked Cass when he was alone or with Enzo, but I trust Bryan to bring something outta the guy tonight. This Match could be a sleeper for the PPV tonight.

Nah he's been fine, his promo the first week was great but I just don't want Daniel Bryan in one of his first feuds against a big guy who clearly Vince believes is superior to D-Bry.
