Doom you might be more happy, with the news Titans are going to sign Dion Lewis and take him away from the Pats. It's a 4 year deal and boy that really helps their team making Defenses always making sure they know where he is on the field.

I'm really happy that the Titans signed Lewis to either start over or backup Henry in 2018. The Titans made a wise move in signing him.

Yeah either decision is great for them, they styles match so well with the Speed vs Bruiser. Titans are moving up in the world good for them.

I forgot to mention about the Packers signing Jimmy Graham. He's still among the best tight ends in the game and it was a smart move for the Packers to grab him. Since Nelson's released, I think the Packers should sign a free agent wide receiver, to make the offense a huge threat.

Why exactly are people still throwing huge money at Sam Bradford?

    That's just laughable to me.

He's a competent NFL quarterback and it's by far the most valuable position in the game and thus worth a decent chunk of your cap space to make sure you have one that won't cost you games?

Plus, $15 million for Bradford seems like a steal when you consider what the Vikings are guaranteeing a guy who’s never won anything.

Hard to blame Cousins though for not winning anything. He's been involved with one of the worst run franchises in NFL, as well as suffering from the whole RG3 affair and generally being disrespected by Washington. Doesn't also help that the Redskins had bottom-half defense for years now, and for this year, had no offensive weapons for him. He's now coming into Minnesota with two star WRs, a stud RB, but a below average line. I for one am pumped as hell.

Re: 2018 NFL Offseason Discussion Thread

Bradford has made a fucking fortune in his career already and not once lead a team to a winning record if I'm not mistaken. I think the idea of Bradford is better than the reality of him, but I can't really knock AZ for trying... I think he can be serviceable as long as he doesn't have to shoulder the load.

The wildest thing about free agency to me is how players will recruit other players to their team. Like JJ Watt today was recruiting Mathieu on Twitter. Say the Texans don't sign Mathieu and we bring back our same safeties from last season... seems likely that even if they didn't show it, they'd be a bit bothered that their teammate was trying to find a replacement for them. I just think that's kind of a funny little catch to free agency recruiting.

Re: 2018 NFL Offseason Discussion Thread

The Cleveland Browns are expected to sign former San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde, as first reported by the NFL Network and confirmed by ESPN.

Hyde will receive a three-year deal worth more than $15 million, including $6 million in the first year, according to the NFL Network.
However, the agreement to sign Hyde does not eliminate Saquon Barkley from the Browns' draft board, according to a league source familiar with the team's thinking. The Browns are keeping their options open, and that means Barkley remains part of the discussion with either of their first-round draft picks.

"Nobody is ruled out," the source said of the way the Browns view the draft board.

The Browns have the first and fourth picks in the draft and are expected to take a quarterback with one of the picks. Barkley, ranked the best player in the draft by ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr., has been in the Browns' discussions -- especially after he impressed at the combine. Hyde's addition to go with Duke Johnson might mean the Browns would look away from Barkley, but the source said that is not the case.
I think the Browns got a good deal out of signing Hyde. But, what I don't get is why they still want to draft Barkley after they signed Hyde? If I was running the Browns, I would rather use one of the two first-round picks on a offensive tackle to replace Joe Thomas, which he announced his retirement today. They don't really need to sign Barkley, but I guess they know more than I do lol.

Re: 2018 NFL Offseason Discussion Thread

Stupid for the Browns. Just when I thought they were turning things around.

I'm guessing they're doing it because they plan on hoping Barkley is there at 4 but it's a backup in case he's not. I hope he's not now.

Barkley is the guy you want to build your entire team around. Just like Elliot did the the Cowboys, Barkley can change an entire offense. You draft him and you get you get a good QB then you're offense is going to be successful.

Hoping Colts steal him at 3.

    Who's to say they're not aiming to run a Barkley/Hyde 1-2 punch?

Kind of echoing my point. He won't cost you games, but he sure as hell won't win you games.

He's solid enough, sure. But why not invest in something better, or aim towards a more future forward prospect?

And yeah, Kirk Cousins getting that much is absolutely hilarious. But to be fair, it shouldn't be too hard to at least have some decent success with how Minnesota is right now.

I certainly don't see him leading a team to a Super Bowl, but stranger things have happened.

Not sure if anyone here has posted it yet in the thread, but Joe Thomas is retiring after his 11 year career.

Kind of bittersweet, looking at his career. Incredibly gifted athlete, 10x Pro Bowl 9x All Pro, and 10,363 consecutive snaps played...Yet, given his 11 years were all with The Browns, he sadly never got to see much in the ways of playoffs, yet alone Super Bowls.

He reminds me a lot of my Cowboy's Jason Witten. Another steady influence, with a long and great career, yet seen little team success in playoffs/farther.

It happens in Free Agency with so so players getting big deals because teams are desperate to fill holes. Personally I don't invest that money in Bradford, saw first hand his hot vs cold games and to me the Eagles they won't say they made a bad trade we are just getting now this upcoming a pick from the Vikings from that trade a few years ago.

Minnesota trades a 2019 Fifth Round pick for Trevor Siemian and a 2018 7th Round Pick from Denver.

Decent trade. Siemian's competent enough, but I'd much rather not have to lean on him in the case Cousins blows out his knee like most of our Quarterbacks do.

Seattle who is completely cleaning house reportedly told Dallas they would trade Earl Thomas for a first round pick.

Now there's a thinker. Take your chance building D in the draft, or take a sure thing, who would be under his old coordinator again in Dallas?

First Round Pick for Earl Thomas in this Year's Draft^? Yeah the Cowboys need help everywhere on that Defense, and if was a 2nd or 3rd I would do it, but a first man where is their draft slot though?^

You know it's just a one year deal right? There's nothing stopping Arizona from trying to find another good option in this draft or keeping an eye on the future. They're covering all their bases with a super low risk move. Bradford's contract is hardly crippling and entirely reasonable to pay a journeyman quarterback for a team in their position.

Michael Crabtree has been released by the Raiders.

Sheldon Richardson is having an asking price of approximately $15 Million. Thoughts on who might sign this guy?
