3 interesting shows booked. I'm loving the look of the Osaka show with all singles matches. Hiromu Vs Will

No Chris Jericho, so I assume Naito Vs Jericho is happening either on the US Tour, or Sakura Genesis. Most likely the US tour because they'll want Jericho there for that.

Re: NJPW The New Beginning - Starting January 27th

Kazuchika Okada vs Sanada is my most anticipated match. They had some good matches in the G1 in the previous years so this should be excellent. Though I looking forward to Suzuki vs Tanahashi, Tanahashi looked really injured at Wrestle Kingdom and I'm worried that the match will not be up to certain standard. Suzuki is taking the win here I think. Notice the Osaka show has an abnormally large amount of single matches, maybe that's just me but I'll be fine with that. It's a change from the normal card structure. Hirooki Goto vs EVIL should be pretty good, hope Goto can keep up the momentum gained at Wrestle Kingdom, just hope Gedo doesn't give the title to EVIL. Not that I don't like him, just I feel Goto should have a proper run with it. Will Ospreay vs Himoru Takahashi should be pretty decent. Takahashi for me should've won at Wrestle Kingdom and I expect he will win here at win the Junior Heavyweight Title. The special match between YOSHI-HASHI and Tetsuya Naito is pretty interesting, I expect Jericho to show up and attack Naito again

Okada vs. Sanada sounds like the potentially weakest defense of Okada’s historic reign. Sanada’s work doesn’t entice me much and it just doesn’t feel like Okada will turn it on for this.

I hope Elgin loses to a Young Lion.

Boy, I am excited for White & Roppongi 3K vs. The Elite. Looks like a great set of shows, really looking forward to White vs. Omega also. Can see White winning through Cody interference, and I can see Minoru taking the IC title as well. Tanahashi really needs a break.

That makes a lot more sense because Osaka seemed really low on the number of wrestlers at the show

    Thanks Mikk.

Not far off what I would predict, the only question mark being over the Ospreay/Hiromu match. I think they might actually try to build up Ospreay for a bit and keep the belt on him until after BOSJ giving us a BOSJ final without Ospreay for a change.

I wouldn't be opposed to them building Ospreay tbh. I think him not losing the title in the first place would've been better.

White in CHAOS is such an odd fit. Him teaming with Yano and Roppongi 3K seems so strange and something that could lead to a little in-faction drama, especially given how he's already started out by questioning Okada's position and apparent refusal to defend the title against his faction mates. I just can't see him in CHAOS all that long really.

It is a weird fit, but I guess necessary the way New Japan operate. It was one thing to keep him off the road to Tokyo shows, but now he's back full time with them he needs to be on all these shows to build to his Kenny Omega match. I did think there was something a little different about him joining, only attributing it to selfish reasons of knowing he can't take down the Bullet Club alone, already sowing the seeds of him leaving warning Okada he is gonna come for his title one day.

Jury is still out on this whole gimmick for me.

I find him very intriguing in this persona and it seems that regardless how people feel, we are all talking about him and paying attention to what he does, that's a good thing at least.

The Osaka show headlined by Okada/Sanada has sold out 26 days in advance. Impressive.

Very good. Business strong after Wrestle Kingdom so whilst I'm 99% sure it would've sold out anyway, it does shows there is interest in a Okada/Sanada match. Any word on the Sapporo shows yet?

Day 1 was okay, Suzuki vs. Tanahashi was great. Tanahashi is the perfect wrestler. The finish was incredible as well. The rest was alright. I kinda slept through half of Day 2 so idk how it was. The Young Bucks had their best match, that I've seen anyway, and the main event was amazing.

Re: NJPW The New Beginning - Starting January 27th

Great shows, ranking today's higher than the Saturday show but both were good in their own right, I'll probably get around doing a review of each match eventually and getting them here. But the final match was something I didn't expect on the second day, the fact that Jay White won the title, just after coming back from excursion just surprised me a little. It's probably been done before like this but not whilst I've been watching. That I remember at least. But the finale of the show, showing more of the Bullet Club's problems is a small segment I really enjoyed. And Kota Ibushi coming back in to help, from what I've seen of Golden Lovers, they were one of my favourites but they came about before I started watching, hopefully now I can watch them live.
