    Re: Wrestling Predictions for 2018

    Not-so-bold predictions:

    • Roman Reigns will beat Brock Lesnar for the Universal title and that will start his longest world title run to date
    • It'll be the year of Tetsuya Naito in New Japan; he'll dethrone Okada this week in a match Meltzer will give at least 5 stars to and will hold the title at least until Dominion, but likely longer than that.
    • Triple H will yet again have the worst match at Wrestlemania when he faces Kurt Angle
    • The Undertaker comes out of 'retirement'
    • Daniel Bryan will wrestle again
    • Satoshi Kojima wrestles his final G1 tournament, the final dad to fall.
    • Impact Wrestling rebrand and change the name of the company again
    • Neville finally gets his release and will not be the only 'significant' voluntary walk out of WWE this year
    • Ciampa costs Gargano the NXT title and they have a match Wrestlemania weekend
    • Authors of Pain are the most successful call up of the year

    Bolder predictions:

    • 205 Live dies and the CW division just becomes a Raw exclusive.
    • Talking Smack returns as a weekly show
    • Tiered pricing introduced to the WWE Network and ICW and Progress finally are added to the package
    • A WWE UK show still doesn't happen, the title just stays as something defended on NXT and other UK independent shows
    • Asuka goes through all of 2018 undefeated (well, not pinned/tapped out)
    • The Elite peak at the 10k show, they hit a respectable number but not 10k and at least one of the group signs with WWE.
    • David Starr wins the 16 carat gold tournament
    • Ilja Dragunov has a breakout year on the indies (it's really just his family commitments that make this a bold predictions, I have my doubts he'll take international bookings)
    • Chris Jericho is not 'one and done' in New Japan. At the very least I expect him to be on their US tour.

    Another year long title reign

    Others

If any prediction should end up being totally wrong, it’s Sexsmith becoming Progress Champion.

I can see it happening even if it's for one show (like The Pastor's reign).

I still really hope if that happens they announce it as 10k anyway and Bullet Club fans get super pissed whenever someone brings up the legit number. It's my dream. Not sure who would sign to WWE or who they would want really. Maybe Scurll or Omega are the only two I even see as possible.

    - I think Jericho will wrestle once at WK, once during WM weekend and once on his cruise, all against Omega, and will have a very limited number of other matches for NJPW proper as well as a match at WK13. Somehow the thing that would excite me most is a tag team run with Gedo but that won't happen.

I agree with most of yours, Ed so I'll try and have a few more:

    WWE:
Jason Jordan connects as a heel after his turn and is a successful upper midcarder by year's end.

Becky Lynch turns heel and gets a push as the women's Ace of Smackdown.

    Hideo Itami leaves the company.

Johnny Gargano gets called up to the main roster...so does Tomasso Ciampa.

The XFL comes back and it leads to Tim Tebow getting built to wrestle a match in WWE.

    -

    NJPW:
NJPW signs a new US television deal that increases their visibility and popularity.

Kitamura goes on excursion and becomes a ROH Champion before Year's End.

A member of LIJ turns on the group and specifically Naito.

Taguchi gets a Junior Title run.

Goto has a bunch of great performances but does nothing of substance for most of the year due to bad booking.

Shibata announces an in-ring return date before Year's end.

    Indies:
EVOLVE wins their lawsuit with FloSlam, then gets added onto the WWE Network in some form.

Chuck Taylor becomes ROH World Champion.

Celeste (Kaitlyn) has a hot indie run of great matches after coming out of retirement and helps elevate the women's indie scene.

PWG brings in Jack Sexsmith and people stupidly mark out for him there and talk about what an amazing talent he is. (Bonus prediction: BOLA gets massively overrated by people who are there live)

Mike Quackenbush is a dick to someone at some point.

    Joshi:
Mayu Iwatani wins the ROH Women's Title tournament and gets well deserved props from stupid American ROH fans.

Tsukushi wins the Ice Cross Infinity title at RibbonMania 2018.

Act Yasukawa comes out of retirement for one match to wrestle Yoshiko for SeaD and they embrace after Act beats her.

Yamashita is the breakout star of Joshi in 2018.

Alex Lee becomes champion in both OZ Academy and Sendai Girls.

    Other:
    Will Ospreay signs with WWE.

NOAH has an AJPW from two years ago-esque resurgence.

Hideki Suzuki wrestles in and subsequently wins the Global League.

Suwama and Ishikawa have a year long tag titles reign in AJPW.

    Miyahara wins the Champions Carnival.

BJW Flounders under Daichi Hashimoto's reign and they flip the title back to Sekimoto again.
I'm a good looking guy, but you show absolutely no interest in dating me! But...you're so nice to me.

    Re: Wrestling Predictions for 2018

A lot of what I've predicted has already been mentioned, but here goes:

    WWE
    - 205 Live is killed off in it's present form
    - There will still be no WWE UK show by the end of the year
    - Finn Balor moves to Smackdown & becomes it's new "star" as AJ moves over to Raw
    - Kurt Angle will actually finally call it a day in ring following his WM match, whomever that's against

    PROGRESS
    - Jinny dethrones Toni Storm as Women's champ
    - Jack Sexsmith will not be World Champion. However, he will be a tag champion & his team will dethrone Grizzled Young Vets
    - CCK will break up with Brookes turning on Lykos
    - Travis Banks & TK Cooper will feud

    Re: Wrestling Predictions for 2018

Jinny’s defintely dethroning Toni. Time to move Jinny from winning the Dahlia feud and going straight to a bitchy title reign. Sort of surprised it didn’t happen during Unboxing (sorry spoilers).

I’m excited for TK Cooper to come back. He was on a path to have a breakout year last year and that awful injury really fucked things up. I think he’s gonna come back with a really strong year. Probably turning on Banks.

    Re: Wrestling Predictions for 2018

Welp coming out of WK12 I would say the following is a certain

    • Reigns gets a 4th coronation of being "the man" and it still doesn't work
    • Taker comes out of retirement
    • Daniel Bryan returns at Wrestlemania 34
    • 205 Live either dies a slow painful death or WWE do the right move, tape it and move it to before SD
    • The WWE network goes up in price (possibly after Mania itself)
    • The Bella's return (They have missed out on way to much HISTORY~)
    • AOP, Black and one of Gargano/Ciampa get called up. Maybe Almas & Drew too.
    • A big indy name makes the jump to the E to cover for those NXT guys (Possibly Zack Sabre & Will O'spreay)
    • Okada's reign of DOOM will last until 2019
    • Jericho will make a good few appearances over the year in New Japan
    • Naito doesn't get the Dome main event again at 13 (bold prediction but i'm sticking with it)

Probably more but that's all i can think of right now.
