A Nightmare Before Christmas and The Year Without Santa Claus are goats. Sad Grinch didn't get more love. Home Alone 2 and Charlie Brown are great shouts though

I love it but I wanted to give a little love to another old school classic that wasn't getting much. It'll be in the next update.

Re: WC's Fave Five Christmas Movies~!

I recently saw Jingle All The Way and while I was surprisingly entertained by most of it, two things that bother me:

    1. Why do they never explain why Arnold’s character pretty much has fucking amnesia and can’t remember a goddamn thing?

    2. Might be the worst Phil Hartman character ever.

Grinch sucked. Charlie Brown Christmas Special is dope and has the best soundtrack ever. Home Alone 2 is great and our president rules in it.

    OHMSS awesome!

Yeah Mitch my brother you broke my heart with no love with A Year Without a Santa Claus. I mean the Miser brothers have been in other Christmas themed films like A Miser Brothers Christmas which I think was done in 08? Home Alone 2: Lost in NY it's a must watch every Christmas for me. So many great parts with Kevin tossing Bricks off the Roof hitting the Wet Sticky Bandits, or Marv getting electrocuted yeah to me I love the sequel vs the original movie.

That Grinch flick can kick rocks. Hopefully the old one places higher or Santa's gonna roll over in his grave.

Nightmare Before Christmas is alright. Surprised to see it this low.

Re: WC's Fave Five Christmas Movies~!

Alright, let's keep going and finish up all the movies that were voted outside the top ten...

14T. Fanny and Alexander - 40 Points (Creeping Death #2)

14T. The Night of the Hunter - 40 Points (Creeping Death #3, Fuji Vice #5)

13T. Eyes Wide Shut - 50 Points (Creeping Death #1)

    13T. Mickey's Christmas Carol - 50 Points (Thundercat #1)

    12T. Black Christmas - 60 Points (BD22 #1, Lucha Bear #5)

    12T. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - 60 Points (Fuji Vice #2, Thundercat #4)

    11. Love Actually - 70 Points (Panther #2, Postman Dave #3)

    10. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - 80 Points (RaiZ-R #1, Panther #3)

So, Rudolph is the old classic I voted for over Charlie Brown Christmas, mainly because I felt bad that it wasn't really getting any love. It's such an indelible part of Christmas that I felt a decent showing for it was required. I left Black Christmas off of my list but it's a great horror movie and my personal fave of the two Christmas-themed films that Bob Clark directed. Like a few others on this list, I don't really consider Night of the Hunter a Christmas movie in the strictest sense, but it does happen to be one of my personal faves so I voted for it anyways.

Next up, the top ten begins with a couple of movies that, up until recently, could be seen on television every year.

Wow I can't actually believe someone went in on Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with me. Cheers Raiz.

Well that's two thirds of my Christmas tradition knocked out. Only one remaaaaaiiiiins. Love KKBB and Love Actually, for entirely different reasons obviously. Love Actually is obviously a very schmaltzy and saccharine movie but it's also super funny and imo hard not to enjoy. Always look forward to my Christmas viewing of it.

Wow some of these movies I never even knew were Christmas. I knew I'd be the only one on Mickey's Christmas Carol, I like most versions of Christmas Carol but that one, for whatever reason, was a staple in my family.
And what is up with only Fuji and I showing Rudolph some love!? I thought for sure that'd be top 5

I didn't really consider any of the movies up there for my own list but I do enjoy Cool Runnings, Jingle All The Way, Krampus, The Ref and Silent Night, Deadly Night. In fact, I own the latter on both DVD (with Part 2) and the new Shout Factory Blu Ray. Still wasn't enough to make my list so I'll ask RaiZ not to "punish" me.

Next up, a whopping 10 movies get us through the 20 and 30 pointers~!
I'm actually kinda shocked you didn't vote for it man but I was well aware it was likely to be low on anyone who was voting for its totem pole. I'd never seen it before last year and it's legitimately terrible but in that so much fun to watch way. Unlike...

Then again I voted for a movie where Seth Rogen is stoned for two hours (ISN'T THAT ALL SETH ROGEN MOVIES FRACT EHEHEHE) so what do I know about Christmas flicks.
Jingle All The Way is trash. Utterly hideous bullshit with only one redeeming feature; the wonderful Phil Hartman... and even he is fucked in that film by being such a fucking awful human being in it. It's well and truly the most over-rated piece of garbage I've ever seen.

Meanwhile, The Night Before is fun, has a heart and actually feels Christmas-y rather than a sad commentary on how Christmas isn't about peace, love and good will to all but about having the latest, most expensive, shiny do-dad.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is Fave Five of all time for me. Not just Christmas movies (or movies set at Christmas) but any type of movie at all. That and Almost Famous swap around in the top spot all the time depending on my mood. A few years back, I would watch Kiss Kiss on repeat; the DVD would start the film after the menu went untouched for a minute or two and I would just let it play, basically on a continuous loop in the background as I fell asleep or as I did other things. I love it.

It suffers from having too big a cast to really get to know the characters and having a few dodgy story developments; like Rick Grimes creepily stalking his best mates girlfriend and the pervert heading to America to fuck all the American women who actually fall for him and don't just think he's a creepy dork... but in general, it's a fun film.

Mickey's Christmas Carol was number six on my list. I had it on VHS as a kid and watched it all the time.

KKBB was on the list I did for TGO last year. I knew my list looked weird for some reason other than the obvious. It wou so have been #5 in Die Hard's stead.

Nicky is correct, Bill Nighy is God.

They also fat shame a lady skinnier than most of the cast but I still like the movie.

Re: WC's Fave Five Christmas Movies~!

Merry Christmas morning WC, here's the next part of the list...

    9T. A Christmas Story - 90 Points (TCON #1, Necro #2)

9T. The Santa Clause - 90 Points (Dook Gulak #1, Kairi HoHo #2)

    8. The Muppet Christmas Carol - 100 Points (Postman Dave #2, RaiZ-R #2, Panther #4)

Never been all that high on A Christmas Story but I really thought it would have a better showing on this list. Ditto with The Santa Clause, which is fun but nothing I've ever been blown away by. Muppet Christmas Carol is great and was a late cut from my list.

Next up, just three more before the Fave Five~!

I mean Christmas Story is good and all but years of having it forcefed to me as the Christmas movie by TBS has soured me. Never cared much for Santa Clause. MCC is great. Also really shocked that Rudolph was so low
