The Cowboy Done with Impact Wrestling

    http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/jam.../#.WgUpCNCnHIU

After fifteen years with the company, James Storm is saying goodbye to Impact Wrestling — and the wrestler thanked Dixie Carter during his farewell speech at tonight’s TV taping.

Sources with direct knowledge tell us Storm’s exit is legit. We’re told he recently made the decision to depart when his next contract option came around for multiple reasons.

During his goodbye speech at the TV taping in Ottawa on Thursday, The Cowboy thanked the fans for their support. He also thanked Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett and Bob Ryder — but not Anthem Sports.

Sources tell us Storm is free to negotiate elsewhere starting tomorrow, but right now there’s no current word on his plans for the future.
Thank you Storm for the great memories with Beer Money, and AMW. Storm is the last of the old guard from TNA and I'm shocked it took him this long to realize is was time for that old Cowboy to find a new journey to go on. Remember he was working NXT shows what a few years ago and I was saying back then stay with NXT and move up to the Main Roster, because I felt their was nothing for him coming back to TNA. He came back and my fears happened for him and he was doing nothing worthwhile even with the AAA/Impact short feud and the feud he had with EC3 for a few months. Where ever he goes whether WWE still has interests in him, he'll be successful I think a new home will be great for him and he's probably one of the most realist Wrestlers in the business. The way he talks, the way he acts isn't something he playing up.

I think the problem he'll have now is he told WWE no to go back to Impact so that'll probably count against him. It also goes on how well he's saved etc now as to where he'll be looking to go next. As for Impact...the reboot continues.
I have a plan so cunning......

Yup the reboot continues and it kinda started when the Hardys left right now that I think about it.

Has any wrestler besides AJ had such a quality run in TNA than Storm? Great wrestler, great talker, fairly consistent. I'd love to see him in WWE but I doubt he will at this point.

I would say Roode would be apart of that discussion as well. When he became World Champion for the first time, still one of the most enjoyable title runs I remember watching as a fan. Storm never got to really run with the ball when he had it, but you can fill two or three pages with great moments from Storm in his career. Boozer Cruiser RIP.

Who the fuck knows what he’s going to do because I don’t think he’ll really be a must sign for the WWE after getting a cup of coffee and leaving pretty much.

They've been rebooting ever since they stopped booking D-Ray 3000.

Roode's not a great wrestler so he's immediately removed from that conversation.

I don't see him as a must-sign regardless but I always figured that cup of coffee was Trips doing him a solid for negotiating purposes, to up TNA's offer and such.

Re: The Cowboy Done with Impact Wrestling

At least back when it happened, there were zero reports of any bad blood between Storm and the WWE for his decision to return to TNA. IIRC, Storm claimed that the WWE understood his decision and told him he'd be welcomed back at any time. Besides, it's the WWE's own fault for putting someone of name value on their TV, promoting it on social media, and advertising it on WWE.com when they knew he didn't have a contract yet. That's something TNA would have done.

I don't see any reason for the WWE to hold back from signing Storm. At this point, he'd be a perfect guy to keep on NXT and see if there's any desire for him to advance to the main roster or just to remain on NXT like Samoa Joe and Asuka.

James Storm had a good run in Impact, a great run in fact. I'm sure he will end up in WWE for the last few years of his career.

Yup as long as they don't make him into a Cult leader like they did at one time with Impact. Let's not forget the DCC lol.

I'm hoping he comes to WWE, pretty confident in saying he could have a good feud with anyone on the roster right now.

    Man, I miss D-Ray.

At 40 Storm is just young enough to win the NXT title, so I could see it. If nothing else, I could see him being picked up as a producer. Or... he could go the NWA route with Magnus and Billy. At the very least with LU being renewed, the indies prospering, ROH still being a thing despite all evidence to the contrary, there is a lot of opportunity for him.

Don't see that happening to be honest. I was listening to Colt Cabana's Podcast the other day and Omega and the Young Bucks were on there. They talked about how they don't really have say on who joins the Bullet Club as a whole as much as people think. It comes down to the big brass for NJPW and honestly I don't think Storm would want to join.

Can you even prove this? Just because they aren't as buzz worthy as far as hardcore fans go, they still do fairly well for ppvs and shows. From the looks of things, they do way better than any other indy company in the US. They have pretty good attendance for their ppvs. It wasn't that long ago, within the last year, they drew their biggest attendance.

The thing is ROH has their own casual fans now.

    Booking aside of course

Can I prove ROH lacks buzz? What a weird question

They do well thanks to shitty Elite/BC and they have their audience, but they absolutely lack buzz.

You doorknob, I wasn't saying can you prove they aren't buzz worthy. I asked can you even prove they aren't a thing? You are implying they are they are down and out.

You do know they are way bigger than Evolve right?
