Yeah it's a tasty card no doubt Shake. Omega/Jericho is going to bring in alot of fans who haven't watched NJPW before, look forward to how that Match plays out. Omega considers his Match-up with Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom more important than Okada/Naito and he might be right. Jericho is a known property in Wrestling outside of WWE, and for him to face a top star in Omega it's pretty fucking huge.

    As for Naito/Okada..Naito..

    Wait HoHo what about..

No..no...it's Naito's time give it to the man.

It might be important to the US expansion and getting US viewers but to New Japans as a whole, Okada vs Naito is bigger in my opinion. The ace vs the biggest star arguably is a big deal. I guess that's what is so special about this card that people don't even know what's the biggest match.

    Re: WRESTLE KINGDOM 12 - January 4th 2018

It's impressive and I think this will be the WK that gains the most attention ever from overseas, but it might be lacking in the match quality department. I do think they're relying an awful lot on Okada/Naito to deliver because that's probably going to be the only match that could be a blow away MOTYC. I like Jay White a lot, but he has zero track record for a match this big and the crowd weren't particularly taken with his beatdown of Tanahashi; personally I like that they're trying to make a new star, but it has it's risks. Omega/Jericho is extremely interesting, but I have no idea how good it'll be. I certainly don't think we're looking at a WK11 situation where you can argue the big 4 matches were all great in their own way.

The Jr 4 way I'm hearing a lot of moaning about, but I don't mind it because we're at least going to see something we haven't seen before at this show. I'd wager the same 4 names are going to dominate the division in 2018 so we'll see every incarnation of a single match all over again. I'm really happy about seeing a straight 2 on 2 Jr tag match because I think it again shows just how into Sho and Yoh New Japan are to give them that rub. It'll all be for nothing if the Bucks just beat them though and we're back to playing hot potato with those belts. This is the most interesting those belts have been.

If Cody has to have a singles ROH title defence on the show, you might as well stick him in there with Kota Ibushi who might be able to get something magic out of him.

My best guess for Suzuki is that he's gonna end up facing someone from his block in the WTL for the title and that's why his is the only singles belt that hasn't been scheduled a defence yet. Realistically with LIJ as trios champs, that only gives Suzuki possible opponents in Goto, Tacos, Juice and Nagata. Nagata/Suzuki again at the Dome? I'd be down for that, but my bet is Juice/Suzuki.

I would love Goto vs Suzuki for the belt, give Goto back the belt. Raise it's prestige again.

Goto wouldn’t raise it too much, honestly.

Not sure why people think this is a blowaway card in terms of quality. Okada/Naito will be cool but probably too long. I have higher hopes for White/Tanahashi than some, but I like White a lot. Boo Cody, boo Omega, boo Bucks.

But if you love the Elite/BC guys, I guess for you this card is real great.

I’m with you. People should be excited about this card in terms of the freshness. Not the quality.

Unique card that should get a lot of global attention. That's a good thing.

    Re: WRESTLE KINGDOM 12 - January 4th 2018

White/Tanahashi is the match I think will be the best for in-ring quality and I expect a great match. White is the goods and Tanahashi is arguably the best big match worker on the roster still.

Omega/Jericho is the biggest match on this card by far and I say that as someone who dislikes both of them greatly. I have dirt poor expectations as a match however. Naito/Okada could be excellent but who knows, their last match at WK wasn't special but Naito has grown a lot in these years so it should be good stuff at least.

I said it before but I think it's a terrible shame that the Jr. Tag Titles are more important than the Jr. Title due to some truly atrocious booking leading to yet another crappy KUSHIDA title reign that killed the belt's prestige and Hiromu getting turned into NJPW's answer to Eugene killing any hope of the division getting a push. I don't know how anyone could care about that 4 way match.

My prediction for the NEVER Titles are Nagata/Suzuki & YH/Goto/Ishii vs LIJ for the 6 Man Titles while KES/War Machine/Guerrillas of Destiny have a tag title match. In a perfect world I would prefer they build up Goto a bit but truthfully it doesn't really matter. The NEVER Title is a complete joke at this stage and no matter who wins it has some pros and cons: Pro is Suzuki has been so horrible that they immediately get a huge boost to the title and hopefully they can restore it to the high point Goto had it at the start of the year. On the other hand the title is worthless so it will take someone who is great in ring to turn it around. I like Juice but he isn't that guy to me.

Cody/Ibushi should be good, someone had to take the fall this year and it happened to be him and they should have a solid under card match. Ibushi has been so great I won't doubt in him.

I also think they'll be some kind of surprise/gimmicky match similar to the Tiger Mask W match last year on the under card with either celebrity or other promotion (AJPW) involvement.

Wait, you think this will lead to Kushida getting the win? I just assumed Takahashi would get the win here. He has to win here, right?

I hope he does. I really like him as a character yeah he can a little bit too goofy at times, but I can see this guy being a NJPW IC Champion or even better one day.
