Depends on the team Mourinho puts out. Leeds could dump Leicester out, and Brizzle could dump out Palace, not expecting any other shocks though.

Arsenal are into the last four of the Carabao Cup for the first time since 2010/11. Wenger’s never won this competition before. Hope he plays his first team for the next round. Would prefer Arsenal to get Man Utd in the Semi final.

I don’t think think Jose Mourinho will want his £450 wine now. What a fantastic result for Bristol City. The holders Man Utd are out.

    Semi final draw
    Arsenal vs Chelsea
    Man City vs Bristol City

Wish we got Bristol City but hopefully Wenger plays his strongest team against Chelsea. Looks like a Chelsea/Man City final.

Whilst I'm not happy that we are out, it means that we have less games then our rivals which will greatly benefit United. Credit to Bristol though, they deserved to win.

Brizzle deserved that win. They were brilliant and made United look very ordinary at times.

This could be very interesting. Surely Wenger sends out the big boys against us. If so I hope we do the same. Need to take a lead to The Emirates.

Zero idea what to expect out of Arsenal. Wenger is MASSIVELY unpredictable with his lineups at this point. He typically seems able to motivate the team against rival clubs and/or in cup matches.... but who knows. Could see Arsenal field a semi-first choice lineup and get run over (likely) or go all in, play disciplined, and actually earn a win (unlikely).

Man City will do what Man Utd couldn't do...also expect penalties in the London Derby.

    Sanchez who?

Great win, happy that we made the final. Always great to beat Chelsea. Didn’t expect Arsenal make the final. We haven’t won this competition for 25 years. Wenger’s never won the League Cup. It’s going to be a tough game against Man City. Should be a cracking final.

Can't say a ton. Didn't get to see the match and didn't really expect a result. But still chuffed to make a final. No expectation of downing City, so good run, lads.

They're playing the re-arranged game on Wednesday or Thursday aren't they? Would be great to see Wenger lift this trophy as he hasn't won it before has he? Be funny to see Arsenal beat them twice in a week :D

Yeah I'm all behind Arsenal today. I had no idea until I read a preview for the match that Wenger has never won this trophy, I know he's historically used this competition to play his kids, but I guess I always assumed he'd won it at some point. Obafemi Martins still haunts them.

I think it would be incredible if the greatest team the world has ever seen get knocked out of two competitions in the same week.

Re: Carabao Cup 2017/18 Discussion Thread

Looking forward to the final. Don’t feel confident for this game. Both teams suffered embarrassing defeats a few days ago. We lost to Ostersund in the EL. Man City will be up for it after their shock FA Cup defeat to league one Wigan. Even if Arsenal play a strong team, Man City will probably beat us, even though Arsenal usually deliver in Cup finals. If Wigan can do it then so can we.

Wenger has never won this competition before, about time we win this. The Cup final loss against Birmingham hurt but it was great when they went down to the Championship. Would be brilliant if they went down to League One.

Ozil and Ramsey are expected to return but Mkhi is cup tied. We need a strong performance today. Predicting City to win this 3-1 but hopefully I’m wrong and Arsenal win.

Re: Carabao Cup 2017/18 Discussion Thread

Feel somewhat less than confident as well. I'll be moderately happy as long as we don't get embarrassed. Obviously would love to win. Never coveted the Carabao and was a bit amused when United - specifically Mourinho - enjoyed it so much last year. But a trophy is a trophy, even if its the least important actual trophy you can win
