    Neville Done With WWE?

From Wrestling Observer and Big Dave:

The future of Neville in WWE seems to be uncertain.

Sources confirmed to us that Neville walked out before Raw on Monday and appeared to have quit the promotion, though WWE has officially denied that he's quit. Monday's Raw featured Kalisto winning the Cruiserweight Championship from Enzo Amore in a lumberjack match, with Neville not appearing as one of the lumberjacks. He also wasn't on 205 Live this week.

Dave Meltzer noted on Monday night's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Kalisto facing Amore wasn't originally planned for Raw and that the match was supposed to happen for the first time at TLC. Plans for the show had called for Amore vs. Neville in a non-title match before they were changed.

Neville's last appearance on television was during the segment where Kalisto joined the cruiserweight division on Raw last week. His last televised match was against Ariya Daivari in the main event of the September 26th episode of 205 Live, though he worked a few house shows after that.

Whether Neville's time in WWE has come to an end remains to be seen. We'll have more on this story as it develops and in this week's edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter
Well fuck. The best performer of the company possibly gone. Hopefully we get some more information soon.

    Re: Neville Done With WWE?

Really interesting timing coming off the run of a long title run where he was the ace of the division. I wonder what the tipping point is for him; was he denied the chance to leave the division to do heavyweight work? was it the lack of respect he got compared to Enzo who was able to close raws and not defend on ppv preshows? Hope to hear more details soon.

Getting Neville back on the indies is more preferable to me than him sitting in the CW division for another year facing the same guys he's already run through. He'd be a big addition to NJPW as well as the UK scene although some places might not be able to work with him like Progress and ICW.

WWE are getting the worse of a potential Neville-Ricochet swap.

This is horrible news I looking forward to seeing Neville get the CW Title back at some point. If he wanted to go away from the CW Division they should of let him, because he's been one of their money Wrestlers this year and could of been very successful outside of the division fairly easy.

Curse of the crybaby cruiserweighs strikes again? First Aries, now Neville.

He's coming off a long run as champ, he's more interesting now than he's ever been in his (WWE) career, I wonder what's prompted this? Surely he can't be pissed at dropping the title to Enzo? While Enzo isn't half the performer he is he has brought more attention to the division, that can't be denied. Was he pissed that Kalisto was switched the the CW division and given the title straight off the bat? Possibly.

While he probably wasn't gong to get much of a look in at the world titles, Neville has plenty of potential to go on to compete in for the mid card titles. He'd make a great US or IC champion, no doubt. I think it would be a mistake for him to leave.
There's no denying that he'd be a fantastic addition to another company though. I could see him joining the Bullet Club in NJPW for example.

Could be a possible lack of clear direction? Turning face doesn't really do anything obvious for him, as he's seemingly out the title picture for now and has already run through everyone else. And his character doesn't suit that alignment anyway. Being used to put over Enzo on TV is quite the step back from where he was previously.

All speculation of course. Whole thing reminds me a lot of Punk's exit, but at least Neville's on better terms with HHH.

Interesting news indeed. Hope it's wide of the mark as Neville has been the best wrestler in the company this year. I want him back in the heavyweight division now though. Nowhere to go for him in the Cruiserweight division without the title.

Agree with this. If he has become annoyed at the lack of opportunity to move on to better things, surely that should be seen as a positive as he's striving for that "brass ring". I hope it's just something about nothing and we see King Neville back soon.

Besides people denying this, I don't see it happening for other reasons. Neville is one of HHH's pet projects and pals, or used to be anyway. I can't imagine Trips not fixing the situation.

I also find it hard to believe it would be about Enzo's win since the 2 of them are good friends. On Enzo's Snapchat he's often working out with Neville.

In all fairness, I'd probably quit too, if I had to job to Enzo.

Meltzer was talking about this being similar to Punk's exit, on his Pod Cast. I can see them fixing this situation. Well hopefully anyway. I would love to see them put him over o Smackdown. He would make an awesome US Champion.

What has he got to be unhappy about? He's just coming off one of the strongest title reigns in recent memory, he's had more character development and investment from creative than most of the rest of the roster combined, he's clearly more valued than virtually the rest of the cruiserweight division.
He's unhappy because he had to put Enzo over? Doesn't wash in my book.

For the record, I'm not claiming that he's a crybaby, I'm simply hypothesizing as to why he'd want to leave. One hypothesis is that he's a crybaby about his current stature in the company, which IMO he has nothing to complain about.

Before jumping to conclusions about why he's unhappy, maybe it has nothing to do with the on screen business of things. Maybe it has to do with time off. Maybe it has to do with pay. Maybe he's sick of the traveling.

Point being...you have no idea why he's un happy, so why throw the crybaby thing around.

You can hypothesize if you want...but don't slam a guy for leaving unless you actually know why

    Re: Neville Done With WWE?

Even though he was given a long reign as head of the division, sadly it's not like it elevated the division from where it was before he took over. It gave the division an ace but it didn't change anything else. There's a stigma with that show that unfortunately never went away with him as champ. He wasn't closing out Raw's, he was hardly ever on the main card for Pay-Per-Views (which pre-shows also sadly have a stigma). His booking was elevated but not his status. I think it's honestly obvious to see why he could possibly be unhappy.

Most updates I've seen are still citing that the Enzo situation has in fact played a factor into this, but nothing still really confirmed.

    Re: Neville Done With WWE?

    Update from PWInsider:

A few updates on the Neville-WWE situation:

*There have been reports that Neville walked out of Raw. That is incorrect. He was never on the road this past weekend as he did not work any of the live events and was not backstage, at any point, during Raw this past Monday. Mustafa Ali worked the Raw house shows, wrestling Enzo Amore, replacing Neville, who was originally slated for those shows.

*The original plan for Raw was Neville vs. Enzo Amore, but that was changed over the course of the day when someone voiced that Neville couldn't get a title shot due to the current storyline. There was talk of the match being made non-title, but then, when it became known Neville would not be at the taping, the decision was made to go with Kalisto and put the belt on him as a way to tie him to the legacy of Eddie Guerrero, as it was Guerrero's birthday and he legitimately helped inspire Kalisto to get into professional wrestling.

*According to two different sources, Neville has pushed for a release with the idea of leaving the company and building his name outside of it, similar to what Drew McIntyre did prior to his return to NXT. We have been told there were several factors Neville was unhappy with. One source claimed a souring point was being left off of the Wrestlemania 33 DVD, which meant no royalties from what is traditionally the biggest selling WWE DVD of the year.

*Neville is still under contract to the company and has not been released. It is entirely possible the two sides will come to terms and he will return to the company, but as of right now, we are told he is not factored in any of the current plans for the Cruiserweight division or any other WWE brand and is not slated to travel to any house shows.

That's a very good point there Nicky and I would think the same thing like I put my body on the line for you and I was given back that same respect you've handled Enzo on a Platter fairly easily. Whether or not he's truly done, I'll be watching where ever he goes because a great talent to watch.
