    ----

Very good card IMO. Bout time Ospreay finally beat KUSHIDA and I think it sets up Ospreay vs Hiromu at the Dome nicely. Wonder if KUSHIDA might be in the Super Jr Tag Tourney this year. I'd mark if Shelley came back. Curious to find out who Roppongi 3K and Knife guy are. Looks like we'll get Suzuki vs Goto/Yano at Power Struggle along with Ibushi vs Tanahashi. Tag Titles are tag titles, I'm fine with the elimination match, makes sense. YOSHI-HASHI vs Omega in the pipeline too... not sure if that'll be a ROH show defence or not, I doubt it. Maybe Beretta vs Cody as well? Idk. Naito and Okada to retain, obviously. Should be a fun event.

Also here is the card for NEW JAPAN ROAD. Takes place on the 7th.

    Spoiler:

    Tag Team Match
Ren Narita & Yuji Nagata vs Manabu Nakanishi & Tetsuhiro Yagi

    Singles Match
    KUSHIDA vs Hirai Kawato

    Eight Man Tag Match
Jushin Thunder Liger, Ryusuke Taguchi, Shota Umino & Tiger Mask IV vs Suzuki-gun (El Desperado, Taichi, TAKA Michinoku & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)

    Tag Team Match
Ten-Cozy (Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima) vs Bullet Club (Leo Tonga & Yujiro Takahashi)

    Tag Team Match
Hiroshi Tanahashi & Togi Makabe vs Katsuya Kitamura & Tomoyuki Oka

    Tag Team Match

CHAOS (Hirooki Goto & Toru Yano) vs Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki & Takashi Iizuka)

    Main Event
    Ten Man Tag Match

CHAOS (Gedo, Jado, Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI) vs Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, EVIL, Hiromu Takahashi, SANADA & Tetsuya Naito)

I mean it's a very nice last 3 or 4 matches on the show with predictable results, and about 2 hours or so I can skip. The tag title 3 ways are trollsome at this point by Gedo.

i'm interested to see which direction they go with in Ospreay/Kushida because Will never beats Kushida. Eventually Scurll will end up challenging for the belt given ROH/NJPW is where he's committed too right now.

You think Ospreay beats KUSHIDA and maybe Scurll challenges him at Power Struggle or something?

Who knows mate, I guess that's a possibility because I don't see them doing Scurll Vs Ospreay at WK.

Predicting the WK match is so tricky because all these guys could easily slot into a random trio and be placed lower in the card as they're all aligned with a stable. I'm starting to think Hiromu won't be in the Jr's title match because they've been regressing him and if EVIL gets pushed to say a NEVER title match, then Hiromu's gonna end up in the trios match.

Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale, Leo Tonga & Yujiro Takahashi) vs Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi & SANADA): What a horrible shame Hiromu's booking has been since April. He looked like the man to elevate an entire division, now he's stuck as a furry who gets One hit-KO'd by Ospreay. Awful.

CHAOS (Hirooki Goto & Toru Yano) vs Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki & Zack Sabre Jr.): What a horrible shame Goto's booking has been- Oh wait. I could be down with an extended Goto/ZSJ program but then our despair hits when we realize we're likely nearing a Yano title match at the Dome.

IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Title Match: Taguchi has been a non-G1 NJPW MVP candidate and who knows who RP3K is. Considering who TJ carried last month it should be a great match.

IWGP Heavyweight Tag Title 3 Way Elimination Match: Gedo is a terrible booker.

CHAOS (Beretta, Jado & YOSHI-HASHI) vs Bullet Club (Cody, Kenny Omega & Marty Scurll): YH's team losing going into a YH title shot. Sweet. Beretta & YH as a team could be pretty

hot. Beretta vs Cody angle too?

Hiroshi Tanahashi & Togi Makabe vs Juice Robinson & Kota Ibushi: Juice looks to be taking the fall here & that sucks. Trying to get a good tag match out of Makabe might be worse.

IWGP Jr Heavyweight Title Match: ONE PUUUUUUUNCHHHHHHHHH Ospreay gets another title shot for no reason at all in yet another bit of godawful booking. These two have been up & down in their match quality but can be great. Too bad they're both horrendous division Ace candidates. Not interested.

G1 Briefcase Match: I feel like this feud needs to end and I hate these briefcase matches where the challenger has a 0% chance of winning, but their match quality has been very strong.

IWGP Heavyweight Title Match: For as many sins as we see up & down the card, the main event has been very well done and EVIL should be going into the Dome as a priority player to really elevate to a true main event spot. Still, the result isn't in doubt at all so I can't get too excited, Should be another great match though.

Re: NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling 2017

Sho and Yoh's return was welcome, glad to see them in a company that will actually do something with them. Not so sure on the Dragon Gate style gimmick, but I didn't like EVIL's return gimmick either so maybe it'll grow on me. Taguchi is teaming with ACH for the Jr Tag Tournament so Ricochet is likely to be going to WWE in 2018.

Kushida/Ospreay was better than their BOSJ bloated finals. The reduction in time really helped them I thought. Poor Hiromu.

MOTN was Naito/Ishii for me, these two never cease to not have a great match. If Naito cut a Destino nearfall out of every big match he's had this year I'd call him a wrestler of the year candidate but it irks me so fucking much that it's always seems to be 3 finishers before a match ends in Naito matches.

Okada/EVIL was such a disappointment. Too long and nowhere near as good as their G1 match, and given you know the result going in, it doesn't make for much of an entertaining watch.

Re: NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling 2017

I am really excited to see the return of Sho and Yoh. These guys did great on their excursions and was really over with the crowd upon their returns. Hope this can signal a new era for the Junior Heavyweight tag team division. It's been very hot potato for a few years now. This could be the start of something new, hopefully. I think this is the end for Ricochet, he had a good run in New Japan and I'm glad he is ending it on a high. Very good match, exactly what Sho and Yoh needed.

As much as I love Ospreay, I feel like Himoru should have gotten the shot here. I hope he get's the title back at Wrestle Kingdom. I liked this match, shorter then I thought it would be but still great. Wasn't too over the top like their previous matches.

That match with Ishii and Naito deserves a clap. Masterful from both men, Naito was great as always and Ishii well did what Ishii does. The only criticism I have is the finishers, way too many. Naito is heading to WK as expected but that didn't hold down the match too much. MOTN.

Okada vs Evil whilst underwhelming was still good match. The officiating in this match was atrocious but I'm starting to think that it's Red Shoe's gimmick now. The result was never in doubt and they tried everything they could to protect EVIL.

Can't wait for Tetsuya Naito vs Kazuchika Okada at WK. It's time for a change and Naito is that guy.
