Fright Fest 9: Never to be Certified Fresh

Considering the fact that this is Fright Fest 9, I'm going to just take the easy way out and copy and paste the intro from Fright Fest 8.

It's September 21st and it's Stephen King's birthday. That seems to be as good of a reason to officially kick out the latest Fright Fest thread. As always, Fright Fest is an annual October thread where I will review one horror movie every day of October (Let's just assume that at some point I will get behind and have to post two reviews in a day at least once) to celebrate the greatest month that baby Jesus ever made up. In past years, I've reviewed a little bit of everything. Going to the theater to see the latest horror, silent films, foreign from all around the world, classic Universal Monsters, 80's slashers, full horror series, some of the best horror movies ever made, and of course many absolute dreadful horror movies as well. Who knows, I may even cheat and cover a few horror TV episodes at some point as well.

Like in past years, I'd like to cover as many films as possible that were requested by the members of WC. If you'd like me to review a horror movie, take a quick look at the spoiler below to see if I've covered it yet and if I haven't, request it in here. The likelihood of me reviewing your request is greatly helped by requesting it as soon as possible, which is part of the reason why I create this thread early. If you're only getting around to requesting a horror movie on October 28th, chances are it'll be too late.

After doing this seven eight previous times, I can't imagine there's anything else to say. Below you'll find links to the seven previous threads or if you click the spoiler, individual movie review links will appear. Once Fright Fest officially begins on October 1st, I'll be adding Fright Fest 8 Fright Fest 9 links in the spoiler as well.
    A personal message to ‎CocksyMitch:

    Spoiler:

If you'd still like to take advantage of my offer to let you choose which movie I cover on Day #1 to make up for my accidental ignoring of all of your requests last year, send me a PM ASAP of the movie of your choosing. Make sure it's just one movie. Then if you have any other requests, that may or may not be covered, request them in here. Do not include your Day #1 pick in here, so that we keep that movie a surprise for October 1st.

I won't bother re-requesting since I did it the other day.

Looking forward to the frightfully ferocious fun!

Re: Fright Fest 9: Never to be Certified Fresh

Stoked. Fright Fest has become an October tradition of mine and quite possibly my favorite thing about this entire forum, excellent early morning coffee reading before I'm off to work.

My requests for this go around are Return of the Living Dead 3, Childs Play 2, and an 80's Cannon Films classic Lifeforce.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qej5nlRb9VM

Would love to see some more reviews for episodes of Tales From The Crypt also.

This goes for both Shinobi and anyone else that is interested in me covering a bit of Tales from the Crypt episodes, if there's specific episodes you'd like me to cover, let me know. Considering the fact that I'm likely going to pick a couple of random episodes at some point in the month, I'd prefer to just cover the episodes the readers would prefer I read. Check out the reviews archive to see which eight episodes (I think?) I've already covered.

How about Threes a Crowd and Four Sided Triangle from season 2. I actually could have swore you already reviewed those but couldn't find them in your list in the OP. I know for a fact you reviewed Lower Birth but I can't find the link and can't remember what year that was. Didn't you also review Yellow?! Total Mandella Effect!

My favorite episodes were always Abra Cadaver and What's Cookin from season 3, would love to see you review those.

I believe I've only reviewed literally eight episodes, so the vast majority are still unreviewed. It looked like I've covered:

S01E02 - And All Through the House
    S01E06 - Collection Completed
    S02E03 - Cutting Cards
S02E15 - Mute Witness to Murder
    S02E16 - Television Terror
    S04E10 - Maniac at Large
    S04E12 - Strung Along
    S05E08 - Well Cooked Hams

I'm fucking trippin balls right now, you didn't review Yellow and Lower Birth!?!? I was almost 100% sure I read your reviews for those. I even remember you made a gif of baby Cryptkeeper from the end of Lower Birth? Maybe I was seeing into the future?

Are you referring to some old gifs from 2014ish? If so, I believe I have them all reuploaded to Imgur, I just need to take the time to edit the posts to fix the gifs.

It's weird, I don't actually like horror movies, yet I still read & look forward to this thread.

I want a thread of Jim reviewing every episode of The No Sleep podcast. That'd be neat.

Ah yes, the requests that included the original Halloween, a movie I reviewed last year and one that you even replied to in Fright Fest 8.

Would love to see some more reviews for episodes of Tales From The Crypt also.
I watched Lifeforce earlier in the year for the first time, so I don't know how tempted I am to see it again just yet. It's a pretty underrated Tobe Hooper film though.

Since Cult of Chucky is already going to be reviewed at some point, I've had it in the back of my mind for months that I'll be reviewing Child's Play 2 as well.

Return of the Living Dead 3 has had bad timing. It missed out last year due to the fact that the unedited Blu-Ray was set to be released shortly after October, which meant reviewing the edited version would be foolish to do. It also means I've seen it previously in 2017 already.

Tales from the Crypt are always a possibility though. They're fun and easy to do.

I've already watched 2017's IT three times in September, so I'm not sure if I'm ready to make it 4 times just yet. It Comes at Night is a 2017 horror that I've purposely been saving to watch for the first time this October.

That sounds like torture. While I am a listener of the podcast, so many of the stories struggle with knowing when to end. They either end abruptly before everything is explained or it goes on and on and on, far beyond me stop caring.

I guess The Shining and House of the Devil are my picks.

Edit: Oh and let's just throw Mother of Tears in for good measure May too if we're scant for requests, but I'd sooner read the other three.

Oh if its gonna be like that let me also request Triangle and Cube mmkay

Cube is fucking awesome. If you've never seen it (speaking to non-Jim people, because I am certain he has seen it) please just download or find it and watch without any idea what it is about. <3

Which Triangle? The one that came out last year or the Melissa George one?

*Edit* I'd also recommend posters check out my movie log for 2017. If I've already watched the movie this year, especially recently, it may not be too appealing to me to watch it again so soon.
