    ^ The MVPs

I just finished the Tag Hell In A Cell. Very good match. The comedy sucked but I thought it was super chaotic and didn't feel like they were just breezing through spots. I actually loved the Kendo Stick stuff. Xavier Woods is having a low-key great year.

These were the two best non-blood Cell matches in a while, maybe ever.

So this year we've gotten the festival of friendship, the DIY breakup, and now a possible Sami Zayn heel turn.

Has the WWE ever caused this much emotional scarring in one year? LOVE AND KINDNESS ARE DEAD.

Overall a very up and down PPV, two solid matches, followed by some very iffy matches, then comes full circle with an excellent match to finish. Lots to look forward to heading forward though.

Re: WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 Discussion

Alright show, HIAC matches were the highlights. I do think about half the matches on the show went too long and when you look at a 30 minute overrun, it's hard to argue against that. It doesn't make me want to watch SD any more than I did yesterday though with Jinder, Corbin and Natalya holding titles. The heel dominance on this show is suffocating and that's not going to get better now Sami Zayn is heel.

I don't think I need to repeat my thoughts on New Day/Usos, but after seeing the whole show, it's my MOTN for sure.

Orton Vs Rusev was good, but really needed to kick on just as the match ended for it to have reached anything more than that. Sucks what they are, or more to the point are not, doing with Rusev.

In the midst of 20 Baron Corbin LD jokes, there was actually a really good triple threat I thought, especially when AJ/Tye interacted. I hate the result, and I hope to god this means AJ is moving back up the card.

Then the show started to drag for me. Charlotte/Natalya was heatless and a bit long in the tooth for me if you're just gonna throw the match out for a DQ finish.

The pop from the live crowd for Fashion Files was awesome to hear.

Nakamura/Mahal was better than Summerslam...kinda...because Shinsuke seemed more up for it, but it was still a shit match and at this point it doesn't even matter if Nakamura managed to pull a Bret Hart Summerslam 1992 carryjob out of his arse, there is nothing redeeming about another Jinder Mahal title match where Jinder Mahal retains the title. This guy is the pits. I don't want to hear about how good a heel he must be if people hate him this much, when he retained the title, there was barely a reaction and no-one boo'd and that says it all. The fans don't care enough to boo. I cannot believe they've sacrificed Shinsuke Nakamura's first main event run just to job to Jinder Mahal.

I didn't even watch Roode/Ziggler because I didn't care about the result and I'm not even curious to see how mediocre it is.

The main event isn't without it's flaws; it's overly long and slow at points on a show that already was overrunning, Shane's punches particularly at the start were comically bad, there's the illogical rope break nearfall spot and the Owens bump through the announce table is a bit underwhelming after 5 minutes of build to some super scary spot. That said, I think this comfortably fits in the top half of HIAC matches ever and Shane McMahon might be the best spectacle wrestler ever in WWE history. They told a good story, it felt different to the other HIAC match on the night, the stuff on top of the cage was nerve wracking, Owens had his best showing all year, and the ending to the match is the only hook to check out the Smackdown results Wednesday morning. On paper Sami Zayn is like Rey Mysterio, he's someone I feel should never be a heel, but the way he's been so annoying in segments this year he's already hard to like so maybe a heel turn will work out for him! Shane's had more in-ring time this year than Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and actually shows up for all of his matches. I look forward to whoever is put in his path next year at Wrestlemania, hell I'd have him win the title off Jinder the way things are going.

I agree that both cell matches were the highlight and rightly so. Everything else for me ranges from 'this was awesome' to 'zzzzzzzzzz,' but the quoted bit is the real takeaway. I would pay decent money to see the creative meetings where 'Mahal over Nakamura multiple times' is being pitched and see Haitch's reaction, just to see his face.

Re: WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 Discussion

Decent enough show overall. Certainly not the worst WWE show we've had this year but wouldn't rank it among the better shows either.

Both HIAC's were fun for the most part. The SD tag title HIAC was far and away the MOTN for sure. Owens/Shane was good but at 40 mins it was just way to long to fully keep my interest. Almost fell asleep watching it at times. The Zayn plot twist at the end is an interesting move for sure but i dunno if it will work. Zayn is one of the few natural babyface guys around so whether or not he can pull of a truly convincing heel will be interesting to see.

Outside of the HIAC's the triple threat was a pretty fun match, for some reason i didnt see Corbin winning the title but i'm not surprised it actually did happen. The womens match was meh, Orton/Rusev was meh, Roode/Ziggler was meh & i didn't even bother to watch Nak/Jinder, just watched the last 5 seconds to see if i predicted it correctly then kept it moving.

All in all an ok show.
