Two of these are Korakuen Hall 'Road To Destruction' shows whilst the other three are the main 'Destruction in...' shows - Fukushima, Hiroshima and Kobe. ----

Lastly, NJPW have uploaded Michael Elgin (c) vs Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Intercontinental Title from last year's Destruction in Kobe event. It's well worth a watch - the best match of the tour last year. English commentary option is available They have also given away KUSHIDA (c) vs BUSHI for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title at Destruction in Tokyo for free also. Only Japanese commentary available, though. You can find access to them at this link: http://njpwworld.com/pg/o_original_0075 -- the link also includes Kazuchika Okada vs Tomohiro Ishii from G1 26 (English and Japanese commentary), Kazuchika Okada vs Hiroshi Tanahashi from G1 26 (English and Japanese commentary) and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Kota Ibushi from G1 25 (Japanese commentary only.)

    ----

This tour is gonna be fun as dicks. All aboard the Kitamura/Elgin teamup. That's gonna be fucking amazing. Also NJPW need to stop doing this tour in Hiroshima and Fukushima with a name like that Juice has now challenged for NEVER, Intercontinental and US title all within a single year. What a year this guy is having.

    you beat me to it.

Hyped on the title matches. They were build extremely well after the G1. Hoping for Sabre to pull the upset.

New heavyweight Beretta making his resurgence in..... tags.

So yeah i'm still reletively new to New Japan

War Machine vs. Guerillas of Destiny and Killer Elite Squad in a triple threat match for the IWGP tag team titles
Why is this title match happening on all 3 shows ? is this something New Japan actually do? Or is it simply a case of "card subject to change"

Also Evil/Okada is gonna be so damn dope.

Nope, it's intentional. They did it with New Beginning this year iirc. It's basically just rematches. Happens from time to time. My guess is that they're gonna do some hot potato action.

    Re: NJPW Destruction 2017

I guess someone's gonna have to do the job and merge them or some shit

I haven't looked at the Non NJPW World cards but there's a distinct lack of ZSJ. Not surprised since I guess certain gaijins are saved for big shows... but I feel like he's probably gonna lose. Kinda wish he'd win so Tana can take a break. At that, I wish Juice would beat Omega. That'd be so damn good. I'd really like Omega to go on a skid after beating Okada. But it won't happen cause of the botched announcement of him having a US title match in ROH. If Sabre beats Tana though, I guess that makes Ibushi vs ZSJ a go. But I feel like ZSJ vs Tana is opening up the path for Suzuki vs Tanahashi at the Dome.

Hey man, Beretta's teaming with YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto... it's a step up (?)... but maybe Gedo's holding him back just like he is those two

Shouldn't go unnoticed that Kota Ibushi, not Tiger Mask W, is on one of these shows.

Will Ospreay back in some decent tag matches

Tiger Mask W is finished so I doubt we see the character appear again.

We'll never find out who that brave soul was under the mask. Real shame. Gave Okada a great fight.

Wonder if Ospreay might get a shot against the winner of the Junior belt? I keep thinking he might be put into the Dome title match.

Elgin vs Suzuki should be good, I see Elgin getting the win for repayment of all the losses elgin has took recently.

That road to destruction main event though. Don't know but that just stands out to me more then the other multi-man tag matches.

Due to an injury, Kenny Omega has been replaced on all cards, other than Kobe, by Leo Tonga (younger brother of Tama Tonga and Tanga Roa) -- it's a left meniscus injury.

Hopefully Kenny makes a full recovery for the match with Juice. OP will be updated.

    Re: NJPW Destruction 2017

Can't recall seeing much, if anything, of him, tbh. He was brought into NJPW in November. I've seen a few comments say he's got more potential than both Tama and Tanga, though. I think he faced Henare on the NJPW NZ show but I don't think I watched it.

He's really tall too. Taller than Bad Luck Fale. So... that's something.

Holy cow, Tetsuya Naito vs Tomohiro Ishii for the G1 briefcase. What a match that'll be.

Like the matchup. Makes sense. Ishii's been the second guy in the CHAOS hierarchy for a while now and he and Naito have had this beef going for the last two years. Ishii's pretty much a kingmaker at this point. Should be sick as usual. Shit's so faaaaaaaar away though.

Yeah I noticed that almost every opponent Okada has, faces Ishii first.

Suzuki vs Elgin is a great main event. Elgin is probably winning it, allowing Suzuki to challenge for the IWGP IC title at Wrestle Kingdom.

Yeah, I don't know with the new Lumberjack stipulation. I think it allows for Elgin to come across super strong though (as he should). I do think that we will get Suzuki vs Tanahashi eventually but I guess I feel like ZSJ vs Tana would be happening at KOPW instead of now (with Ibushi vs Tanahashi happening before) -- I guess Ibushi/Tana is the bigger match though plus it's not like we have short term memory or anything. I think ZSJ/Tana will help set up the eventual WK match though. I kind of feel like Shibata vs Tanahashi was the WK match -- and it was going to be Shibata winning to continue him forward. I believe Tanahashi is getting a farewell run with the top title at some point but remains to be seen. It'll probably break the forthcoming monotony of Naito/Omega/Okada. Tanahashi vs Omega for the IWGP Heavyweight Title sounds nice - and it's a way for us to revisit that feud.

Did anyone watch the first Road To show? Haven't seen it yet but probably going to watch it today after the current ongoing Road To show.

Ugg I hate though stipulations, totally unnecessary. Should be a good match still. As of the ZSJ vs Tanahashi, they have been building towards that since the first day of the G1 so that match makes sense even if Ibushi vs Tanahashi is the bigger match. I would keep Shibata out still as a precaution but if he feels it's fine, i would have him in a singles match against someone like Yoshi-Hashi to have a more laid back and less intense match. I do want Tanahashi to one last reign though. Maybe around King of Pro wrestling time

I watched the main event which was pretty good, the Takahashi and Ospreay exchanges were amazing, hope they get a match soon. It's funny that the most thing New Japan get critiised for is the many tag matches but they are still pretty good most of the time.
