Done deal. Hopefully we make a push to make last 16 although, I still think we're a ways off.

Group A: SL Benfica, Manchester United, FC Basel, CSKA Moscow

Group B: Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Anderlecht, Celtic

Group C: Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, AS Roma, Qarabag FK

Group D: Juventus, FC Barcelona, Olympiakos, Sporting Lisbon

Group E: Spartak Moscow, Sevilla, Liverpool, Maribor

Group F: FC Shakter Donetsk, Manchester City, Napoli, Feyenoord

Group G: AS Monaco, Porto, Besiktas, RB Leipzig

Group H: Real Madrid, Bourissa Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur, APOEL FC

I'll take that group. Sevilla and Spartak Moscow could be tricky ties but its a winnable group.

Group C & Group H are the ones to watch this year. Some potentiallly great matches in those ties.

    Good old Celtic

Tottenham's draw the most tasty of the English clubs with getting Real and Dortmund.

Hey Shake bro, come to Besiktas. We have bottlers and chokers.

Not the hardest or easiest group. We can finish any place (maybe except for the 1st place), but I wouldn't get my hopes up, considering our record of bottling. (please god at least help us finish 3rd so we can play in Europa League.) At least it will be nice to see Aboubakar again in Vodafone Park, and at least we have it better than Celtic, lol.

United have probably got the easiest draw and should win but last time we apparently had the easiest group we dropped into europa with Van Gall. Hopefully we don what is expected and make it through.

Celtic, Spurs and Quarburg I feel sorry for all of you.

Re: Champions League 2017/18 Discussion Thread

I would say United have the easier group. Benfica always have talent and they have started the league season strong, but they lost some important players. CSKA are weaker than recent seasons - their 3 main defenders are legitimately a combined 100 years old. Basel are no stronger.

Liverpool's group isn't much strong, but I would generally take Sevilla above Benfica and despite a poor start to the season, I think Spartak Moscow are a better side than CSKA.

I think Spurs will qualify above Dortmund. United will qualify with two games to spare. Liverpool to top their group and City just about finishing top.

Atletico will be tough for us but I expect to qualify. Don't think Roma will cause us too much trouble.

Re: Champions League 2017/18 Discussion Thread

I think we could find ourselves in a situation where all 5 English clubs could qualify you know. Spurs know they only need to better Dortmund to make it through, and they got a chance at doing that.

There's a few of groups where you see the 3rd/4th seeds cause issues. I would expect Liverpool join Sevilla in getting out of there group, Napoli should join Man City in getting out of their group, Red Bull could shock one of Monaco/Porto, and the above mentioned Spurs.

Then bring on Bayern vs PSG and Juve vs Barca haha.
I have a plan so cunning......

I think there's a strong possibility all five English teams qualify.

Re: Champions League 2017/18 Discussion Thread

So Arsenal's draw looks.... oh... WRONG FUCKIKNG THREAD, my bad.

I'm not so convinced that Tottenham will do what everyone thinks. This totally isn't because I really like Dortmund and loathe Tottenham, I swear. Dortmund have the chance to be quite good this year. Yeah, it looks like they are losing one of the best young players in the world to Barcelona, and I don't expect they will invest that money before the window closes. But they have a drop in replacement, which happens to be another of the top young prospects in world football. There are some questions with the new manager (whom I love from his time at Vitesse), but the early returns from Dortmund are solid.

Easy groups for Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool. Tricky group for Chelsea but I hope they advance as I'd prefer Roma in the Europa. Tough group for Spurs, hope they drop into the Europa League.

Just booked tickets for the Man City and Napoli game. Three of us went down for the Barca game last year and doing it again. Should be a good night.
