Would be fucking awful if City and Liverpool are the best two teams in the country.
I would say we need at least a GK, LB, Possibly a RB (No idea what the deal is with Clyne right now but it seems like he's in the doghouse for some shit as well as being injured), a coutinho replacement mid and a proper striker/2nd good forward alongside Firmino.

I feel this is a case of the other teams around us underperforming more than us being this amazing side. Our attacking is amazing but we still have mega limitations in the middle of the park and at the back. Chelsea & Man U really have more at their disposable and should be doing much better. Spurs need to find some proper consistency but i feel they are more title contendership ready than we are. As for Arsenal once Ozil & Sanchez go they are pretty much fucked. They don't have that champo league comfort anymore so wont find it easy to replace those guys.

Arsenal looked painfully average yesterday. I expect them to lose points when they're playing the other top 5 teams, and games where being out muscled against a weaker team because they weren't up for the battle (like say Troy Deenay bullying their center halfs in the Watford game) isn't a massive shock, but to get out-footballed by easy on the eye but defensively poor Bournemouth, yeesh, that's the one team they should never lose a game against.
How much hope has Pards given you about staying up? I mean, 19th but 6 points away from 11th.

I don't think its just a matter of teams knowing they can bully Arsenal. That's been the case for a number of years. Its that, plus teams realizing how vulnerable the Arsenal defense is. Its always been a bit error prone. But the pace and reactions are all a bit off now, so the high line is particularly susceptible to a long pass. Do that a few times and mistakes will happen. Once a mistake happens, even if it doesn't result in a goal but just a chance, the defense gets rattled and mistakes become more likely. And to compound it all, Arsenal just lack creativity and verve in attack. The aspect that has always been core to Wenger sides seems to be gone too.

Starting to see some articles on what a shambles Wenger will leave the club in if he leaves this summer or next summer. Which fans have been saying for a few years now.

Despite the scoreline, it's been a shaky half. Stoke have arguably had the better chances, or more specifically Ireland has. But two great goals from Martial and Valencia. Stream froze just as Valencia shot and I knew it was it straight away. Pogba with a lovey pass to Martial who scored an amazing goal.

Those two assists take Pogba to the top of the assist charts...not bad for an over-rated player huh?

Plus yeah Ireland should have buried at least one of those chances...Shaqiri is looking lively too, which is great to see as he's a special player on his day.

    Pogba so good last night.

It's obviously not an exact science but that's 9 assists in the PL, tied with KDB, in ten less games (and Pogs doesn't really take set-pieces whilst KDB does). Not saying we'd be competing if Pogba had played the same number of games as KDB but I'm sure we'd have been a lot closer.

    And he scores goals...!

Man Utd look like a totally different team when Pogba plays.

The results weren't that bad without Pogba were they?

Same used to be said about Carrick...you know a player that looks for probing forward passes.

Hell yeah.. I miss Carrick, really miss seeing him play. Injuries, age and his heart problems make it seem unlikely

Again, not an exact science as United faced their more difficult opponents when Pogba generally wasn't available but:

    Results with Pogba (PL only):

    Played 13, Won 9, Drawn 4, Lost 0 - 31 Points, Average of 2.38 PPG.

    Results without Pogba (PL only):

    Played 10, Won 6, Drawn 1, Lost 3 - 19 Points, Average of 1.9 PPG.

That's fairly substantial - could easily have been worth another 4-5 points. Also, Pogba hasn't lost a league game in 35 games I believe - the best record in the PL right now.

Obviously stats can be made to make someone appear better than they truly are at times though.

    And he scores goals...!

Sanchez’s move to Man Utd hasn’t gone through yet but he was left out of our squad today. His move should be completed soon.

Arsenal have a good record at home against Crystal Palace. Not confident with our line up. Hope Lacazette ends his goal drought. We lost to Bournemouth last week so I’m expecting Arsenal to either draw or lose today.

Good result. Finally we get our first win of the year. Nice to feel a bit positive after an Arsenal game for a change. We lose Sanchez but it’s a good response from Arsenal. Happy that Lacazette ended his goal drought. I just hope we get Ozil to stay. Don’t think he’s money grabbing like Sanchez. Let’s wait and see what happens.

Wenger confirmed in his post match interview that we’re not going for Aubameyang. Well at the moment he said nothing is happening but I really hope we sign him. It would soften the blow of Sanchez leaving. Happy that Mkhitaryan could possibly be coming to Arsenal. Bloody hell want this deal to be over and done with. Sick of checking updates almost every hour.

Re: Premier League 2017/18 Discussion Thread

6 points separates Albion in 19th and Watford in 10th We're gonna end up with six pointer games from now until May every single week because of how tight the league is.

We should of won, had the best chances, Everton had one, maybe two, and we hit the bar in the last minute. The assist for our goal by Krychowiak is a beauty. I'd of taken a draw before the game away from home, but watching the stream ugh this really was a chance to pick up a surprise win and get us right among the pack again. City away next, that's a write off, but then we're into two huge home games.

    City defensively are awful.

It's all very tight at the bottom isn't it....put a small run together and it all looks a lot better than it did 3 games ago haha. Not seen the challenge that broke McCarthy's leg....was it a naughty one or just an accident?
