    Re: Getting Into UFC

The best way i found out was to just watch it really. Or go back to the more recent shows like 200 or 210. That way you will get to know the fighters more and get the hype and backgrounds these guys go through, this is the best way to get invested well besides the actual fights. I would also recommend watching the ultimate fighter show which are more segment based shows with a lot of talking and less fighting so there wont be too much exposure too quick. There is drama on those shows which makes it a lot like wwe or at least tough enough, which helps making that transition form being just a wrestling fan to a ufc also. For example, uf 25 had garbrant and dillshaw as the coaches, they did not like each other because dillashaw changed gyms so it lead to types of altercations which were arguments and brawls mostly, it was very entertaining. During this I amongst others developed sympathy for TJ (Dillishaw) because the actions from garbrant were unnecessary and kind of heelish. This is what i mean, there are wrestling things incorporated into ufc and getting to know a fighters.

That is just a few ways getting into ufc but there are other ways.

You can go back and watch some of the classic/historic fights/events or just tune into the next event. You'll either get hooked by the sport or you don't. If you wanna watch a "recent" fight that was pretty entertaining, i would say give Cub Swanson vs Doo Ho Choi from UFC 206 a go.

    Re: Getting Into UFC

Look up articles on the best fights of MMA and find some way to watch them tbh. All I can really say. Most people just get into MMA by watching events and finding fighters they like and then doing past research and stuff. UFC has a streaming service called Fight Pass that's very cheap and you get unlimited access to their fight database which includes UFC, Pancrase, PRIDE and a bunch of other MMA orgs. It's ridiculous value for money. They might offer a month's free trial, I'm not sure.

Personal favourite fights of mine, in no order:

Doo Ho Choi vs Cub Swanson (UFC 206) + really any of Doo Ho Choi's UFC fights. My favourite fighter right now.
Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard II (UFC 125)
Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort (UFC 126)
Robbie Lawler vs Rory MacDonald II (UFC 189)
Robbie Lawler vs Carlos Condit (UFC 195)
Dong Hyun Kim vs Polo Reyes (UFC 199)
Shogun Rua vs Dan Henderson (UFC 139)
Forrest Griffin vs Stephan Bonnar (TUF 1 Finale)
Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustaffson (UFC 165)
Benson Henderson vs Anthony Pettis (WEC 53)
Bigfoot Silva vs Mark Hunt (Fight Night 33)
Leonard Garcia vs Chan Sung Jung (WEC 48)
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Chris Leben (UFC 116)
Pat Barry vs Cheick Kongo (UFC on Versus 4)
Chan Sung Jung vs Dustin Poirier (UFC on FUEL 3)
Yui Chul Nam vs Kazuki Tokudome (TUF China Finale)
Brian Stann vs Wanderlei Silva (UFC on FUEL 8)
TJ Dillashaw vs Renan Barao I & II (UFC 173, UFC on FOX 16)
Ronda Rousey vs Holly Holm (UFC 193) + any of Ronda's title fights before this
Any of Joanna Jedrzejcyzk's title bouts.
Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz II (UFC 202) + Conor's rise altogether
Eddie Alvarez vs Rafael Dos Anjos (UFC Fight Night 90)

That's a solid list of great fights IMO to watch and get into MMA. Not even including Bellator/Strikeforce or any fights from PRIDE/Japanese MMA.

One of the fighters that really got me interested in UFC years ago was Chuck 'The Iceman' Liddell. He had some great fights.

    Also Randy 'The Natural' Couture.

Can't go wrong with either of those guys.
