When someone with Terry's leadership and 10+ years experience as Chelsea captain signs for you, I can see why Bruce would make that decision. Villa's squad is fairly young and more importantly not really a team because they've had such a turnaround of players in the last couple of windows.

Man United beat LA Galaxy 5-2. Rashford, A. Pereira, Mkhitaryan, and Herrera looked very good, but Lukaku and our defence looked shaky, but it's our first game of the season and we can improve, but we looked really good.

That's Celtic hit by UEFA charges because Leigh Griffiths tied a Celtic scarf around a goalpost.

Also charged for picking up five bookings in the game. One of which was Griffiths'

    UEFA gonna UEFA.

Galatasaray just got knocked out of Europa League 2nd Qualification Round by Östersunds. Even as a Besiktas fan, I have to admit that this is so fucking sad.

3-0 Chelsea over Arsenal. Nice to see so much has changed for Arsenal this summer. Rinse, repeat....

I know its a friendly and I know it the circumstances made a win unlikely - Arsenal just got back from their tour, and they played a side that included kids. Still, not awesome to see them be non-competitive. Really don't like the idea of playing rivals in a friendly match in the first place.

Now Man City have become the first team to spend over £200m in one window...what does Pep need to achieve as a bare minimum this season? At least one trophy surely? Or will he fail to see out the season at the top 6 are even more competitive this season?

Aye his fault for getting a yellow

It's a bollocks charge and you know it How would you feel if your club got hit with a fine if Kenny Miller tied a Rangers scarf around the goalposts in Luxembou......

    never mind.

Aye it is his fault, he clearly was at it. Just because some idiot bit and threw a bottle at him doesn't mean he wasn't on the wind up.

I don't really care about it either way. Fans and players can be a little precious when it comes to having a pop at each other, fans particularly. In saying that I would expect a professional footballer to act like a professional and just ignore it.

If it was a Rangers player that did it I would be a little embarrassed quite frankly. I mean, what even is that? Tying a scarf round the post when the game is over and the stadium is emptying. Not exactly Souness planting the flag in the centre circle.

    top banter

Well, I'd say the fact Celtic got charged for 5 yellows when Griffiths' yellow was for getting objects launched at him is a joke. Not Griffiths' fault either as he didn't do anything to incite the object launching other than wearing a green and white top.

As far as being at it, obviously he was at the wind up but I doubt he gets fined if that was to be replicated at Rosenborg's ground in a week time. (though I don't think he's playing)

I admittedly never saw the game but from what I read online he was giving it verbals himself and giving it 5-1 hand gestures which are impudent at best. He's clearly not the brightest boy in the world but professionals should know better, just blank it.

Of course he would, you're just being silly now. Very unlikely any governing body is going to look favourably on anyone blatantly ignoring the warnings/infractions they just handed out.

    Wooooow...

Stoke losing 2-4 against St. Pauli (German Second Division team) and West Ham only getting a 3-3 against Altona 93 (German Fifth Division team), which by the way lead three times in this match...what a day for the lower division football clubs from Hamburg.

Good start by Wolves! Hoping to see them do well with the Portuguese influence there. Big win over my Championship contender favorites, Boro.
