WWE: Another Passage [by Evangelestial & Tigerblood]

    WWE: Another Passage
    Re-writing WWE from Post-WrestleMania 33
    Raw booked by Tigerblood
    Smackdown Live booked by Evangelestial

    Meta Info
(As stated above, this is a joint BTB between Tigerblood and myself, starting from the Raw after WrestleMania 33 onward. However there are a few additional things I feel should be addressed upfront for anyone who has any interest in reading this.)
    Spoiler:

    I. The Show's Format. The current plan is for weekly shows to have quick simple results, i.e. A defeats B, with rare long form descriptive matches whenever we feel it's necessary or just want to, whereas matches for PPV's will be written out in much more depth. There is an example of what a PPV match will look like on Smackdown Live. Depending on reception or time-constraints/laziness, PPV's might eventually go short-form too. Since the booking is the focuses, not necessarily the matches though they're fun to write. Now to clarify, this extends to Smackdown Live only atm, last I spoke with Tigerblood outside the forum, I believe he intended to do long-form matches on PPV too but without checking in on him, I'm not going to promise for him.
II. NXT still exists in our WWE but neither of us really have the time or motivation to book it as well. Essentially, we'll use it for the rare roster call-ups (like for post-Mania shows).
III. 205 Live may or may not exist in our universe, I'll have to ask Tigerblood. Regardless though, those shows will not being written for the same time or motivation reasons.
IV. We will not be able to sign wrestlers without any real-life reasons for it. For example, you want randomly see Rob Van Dam pop up despite him stating he has a Chris Jericho type agreement with the WWE where he can come back when he wants to. However if he does come back, you will almost definitely see him come up in our BTB to reflect that. Similarly, the Mae Young Classic will happen as it does in real-life in July. We already agreed that we'll be taking two women from that each for our shows so I think it's fair that we'd be able to sign anyone who participates in the tournament for full-time even if that doesn't happen in real-life. Though I don't suspect that's likely to happen.
    V. On the flip side, we do not have to subscribe to any WWE exits from the company without good reason. For example, death or retirement, will at least be agreed on.
VI. Continuing from that note, at least on Smackdown Live, injuries will remain consistent with real life. I don't know whether Tigerblood plans to follow this too but if someone has to take months off due to a injury in real life, they'll have to on Smackdown Live too. This is to keep writing more interesting, and to help simulate the experience of actually booking a wrestling program.
VII. However, both shows are backlogged. At the moment both of us are still behind real WWE (about a month of content done for SDL), but if we ever surpass WWE, I am not willing to alter potentially weeks of booking to fit the injury timeline. In this case, the injury will take effect the next show I book.
VIII. Finally, we will keep the PPV schedule but not necessarily the PPV's on the schedule. Basically, Tigerblood really didn't want to have a PPV called Great Balls of Fire. The rest will pretty much remain unaltered.

Pretty stock standard opening post. Really intrigued to see how you differentiate this from what is actually occurring in real life. As usual, can't start from a much better place than Mania. Good luck to you both, I'll be reading.

    RAW
    Episode #1245
    April 3, 2017

Raw starts with Mr. McMahon in the ring. He announces that is time to shake things up in the WWE. Next week, on RAW and Smackdown Live, WWE will start the Superstar Shakeup. He also announces that since Stephanie McMahon will be away for a while, after the injuries she suffered last night at Wrestlemania, and since Mick Foley was fired as RAW GM, RAW needs a new face to run the place. He welcomes the new General Manager of Monday Night RAW, WWE Hall of Famer, Kurt Angle!

Angle gets a huge reaction from the Orlando crowd. He thanks the WWE Universe then goes on to make a few announcements. His first announcement is that Brock Lesnar isn’t going to get away with defending the Universal Championship like he did with the WWE Title a few years ago, and that all his champions on RAW will be fighting champions. He announces that between now and Payback in four weeks there will a 8-man tournament to determine the new number one contender for the Universal Championship. Angle also announces that tonight we see a rematch from the Wrestlemania PreShow last night as later tonight Neville will defend his Cruiserweight Championship against Austin Aries, we will also see The Hardy Boyz take on Sheamus and Cesaro, where if Sheamus and Cesaro win they will face The Hardyz for the RAW tag team titles at Payback. Plus, RAW Womens Champion, Bayley will be in tag team action!

Tag Team match ~ Bayley and Sasha Banks defeats Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax via Bayley to Belly on Charlotte at 17:43. Post-match, Nia Jax beats down Charlotte.

Charly Caruso is backstage with Finn Balor, who returns from injury tonight. He announces that he will be facing Kevin Owens in a tournament match tonight. Balor says he will be going on to win the tournament and will be regaining his Universal Championship that he never lost, at Payback. Kevin Owens shows up and announces that at Payback he will become the first man to become Universal and United States Champion when he wins the tournament and destroys Brock Lesnar.

Singles match ~ TJP defeats Akira Tozawa via the TJP Clutch at 4:46. Neville then appears on the titantron to remind TJP what they had talked about earlier in the night. He then proceeds to tell TJP that he won’t forget him. If TJP doesn’t forget about Neville.

Roman Reigns makes his way out to the ring to a chorus of boos to cut a promo. He announces that this is his yard now and to prove it he is entering himself into the Universal Title Number One Contender Tournament and he will be facing anyone on the roster that accepts his challenge for the tournament next week!

First Round Universal Championship #1 Contender's Tournament: Singles match ~ Braun Strowman defeats Seth Rollins at 12:53 after Samoa Joe hits the Muscle Buster on Rollins while the ref is knocked out. Post-match Joe continues the beatdown on Rollins, ending his assault by putting Rollins through a table at ringside via a Samoan Drop

A vignette airs highlighting some of Shinsuke Nakamura’s best moments/matches with his theme playing in the background. At the end of the video, it says “The King of Strong Style Has Arrived. Payback” Which gets a huge pop from the Orlando crowd.

#1 Contender's Chance for Sheamus & Cesaro: Tag Team match ~ The Hardy Boyz and Sheamus and Cesaro went to a no contest at 19:49 when The Club came out and attacked all four men. Gallows and Anderson would go on to say that they were the rightful number one contenders to the RAW Tag Team Championships. They challenge The Hardyz to a match at WWE Payback, which the Hardyz rightfully accept.

Chris Jericho makes his way out to the ring to talk about his match at Mania last night. He says that Kevin Owens got the better of him last night and that he isn’t done with Owens by a long shot. Kurt Angle comes out and announces that next week in the main event, Kevin Owens will be defending his newly won United States Championship against Chris Jericho in a Fall Count Anywhere match. Kevin Owens comes out to protest but Angle says that if KO doesn’t defend his title he will be stripped of his opportunity in the Universal Championship Tournament. KO goes to attack Angle but turns around to eat a Codebreaker from Chris Jericho. Jericho then holds up the US Title over in head before laying over Owen’s chest.

Cruiserweight Championship: Singles match ~ Neville defeats Austin Aries via Red Arrow at 11:19. Post-match, TJP who was on commentary for the match went to help Aries up but instead turned on him in the process. TJP locked the TJP Clutch on Aries while Neville watched on. The referees and backstage personnel had to break TJP and Aries apart.

Sami Zayn makes his way out to the ring and starts talking about what being in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal meant to him, how much it meant to represent Andre, one of his all-time favorites. He announces that he is entering himself into the Universal Title Number one contender’s tournament and that he doesn’t care who his opponent is. Jinder Mahal makes his way out to the ring and complains that he was screwed over in the AtGMBR last night and he’s going to take it out on Sami Zayn tonight and the he’s going to go on and win the tournament and will go on to defeat Brock Lesnar at Payback for the Universal Championship.

First Round Universal Championship #1 Contender's Tournament: Singles match ~ Sami Zayn defeats Jinder Mahal via Helluva kick at 16:26. Post-match, Tye Dillinger makes his RAW debut and takes out Jinder Mahal, raising Zayn’s hand in victory.

Tag Team match ~ DIY (Ciampa and Gargano) defeats Golden Truth in 6:29. This was there RAW debut.

We see a video package announcing that Ember Moon will be making her RAW Debut next week

First Round Universal Championship #1 Contender's Tournament: Singles match ~ Finn Balor defeats Kevin Owens via Coup De Grace at 27:02. Chris Jericho had previously interfered in the match, hitting Owens with the belt when the ref was down.

    Smackdown Live
    Episode #920
    April 4th, 2017

Smackdown Live opens up with the new Smackdown Women's Champion Naomi making her way down the entrance into the ring. Naomi is proud to announce herself as the two time Smackdown Women's Champion in front of her hometown crowd. She begins talking about her journey to the Championship, the injury that forced her to relinquish her championship and almost prevented her from competing at WrestleMania, and how the support of her fans helped her return from injury. That thanks to everyone, at WrestleMania, everyone felt the Glow. Shortly after that declaration, Alexa Bliss makes her way down to the ring. She 'congratulates' Naomi on somehow not injuring herself in her fluke victory over Alexa. Alexa asserts that if she didn't have five people gunning for her championship at Mania, Naomi wouldn't have had a chance of defeating her, and she knows it. Bliss demands her title re-match right now, because she can think of nothing better than deflating the hometown crowd by becoming the three time Smackdown Women's Champion. Naomi accepts, stating that it seems Alexa forgot that she straight up beat her for the belt at Elimination Chamber. Naomi calls for a referee, but instead she's greeted by CFO$'s "The Future" as the undefeated NXT Women's Champion Asuka makes her way down the ring. After she finishes making a grand entrance, she wastes little time knocking Alexa down with a Spin Kick. She picks up the mic Alexa was using and makes her intentions very clear, there's no competition left in NXT, she's forfeiting her NXT Women's Championship, for a Smackdown Women's Championship match, right now. The ref makes his way down to the ring, and the Championship match is set.

Smackdown Women's Championship: Asuka vs. Naomi (c)
As soon as the bell rings, Asuka dashes to Naomi hitting her with a running hip attack. She doesn't continue the offensive immediately though, instead allowing Naomi to return to her feet, mind games with Asuka delivering a very similar move to Naomi's Rear View. Once the two return to combat, the match continues favoring Asuka, as she manages to quickly cinch on a few submissions that Naomi either has to use the rope to break or just barely wiggles out. If Naomi just grabs the rope after Asuka locks on a Fujiwara Armbar then as soon as Naomi returns to her feet she's meet with a kneebar from Asuka. This pattern finally ceases when Asuka locks in the Ankle Lock on Naomi. In lieu of using the ropes to simply break the hold, Naomi using them to help her escape the ring and the grasp of Asuka. We got to commercial as Asuka looks dominate in the ring and Naomi holds her leg on the outside looking worried.

When we come back to commercial, we see Asuka on the second rope waiting for Naomi to return to her feet, once she does Asuka hits her with a missile dropkick for a two count. We see through replays that Naomi did mount some offense during the break. When she had returned to the ring Asuka locked back on the Ankle Lock again but Naomi reversed it into a roll-up for a two count. When both returned to their feet Naomi hit her with an enzuigiri followed by a fireman's carry dropped into a roundhouse kick for a two count. Asuka ended up gaining favor again with another running hip attack. Back to the present, Asuka is nailing Naomi with stiff kicks to the chest on Naomi, who's on her knees. Asuka goes to finish her off with a roundhouse kick to the side of the head but Naomi ducked the attack and rolled Asuka up for yet another two count. Both return to their feet quickly after and Asuka attempts a clothesline but Naomi ducks once again, this time by doing the splits. Unfortunately for her, Asuka is quick on the attack still, managing to stop her momentum and turn around to nail Naomi with a roundhouse kick this time. Again though she only manages a two count. Naomi begins using the ropes to return to her feet, meanwhile Asuka begins stalking her prey. When the time is right she charges forward with a third running hip attack but Naomi moves out of the way, making Asuka vulnerable. She fires a rapid fire of alternating kicks to each side of Asuka, finishing off by kicking out Asuka's right leg and following up with her handstand headscissors driver. The hometown hero covers but Asuka powers out at two. Naomi is not willing to lose control though, she continues to deliver the offense with a front somersault clothesline, a sitout jawbreaker, and finishes off her series with full nelson bomb. Instead of going for a cover, Naomi opts to transition into a Slay-O-Mission in attempt to make Asuka tap. This doesn't work as Asuka manages to roll Naomi onto her shoulders, forcing her to break the hold to avoid being pin. Determine to keep her championship, Naomi quickly goes on offensive again with a running bulldog into the corner, driving Asuka's head into the middle turnbuckle. Naomi then lifts Asuka up and irish whips her off the ropes, bouncing her to the other side and back to her. When Asuka gets in range Naomi goes for the Rear View but Asuka catches her and plants her with a German Suplex, but she doesn't have a chance to cover as Naomi rolls to the apron. While still in the ring, Asuka begins lifting Naomi to her feet on the apron but whatever she had planned is foiled when Naomi breaks Asuka's hold and follows up with a Roundhouse Kick to the challenger. Naomi then dashes up the turnbuckle and dives off going for a cross-body but instead Asuka nails her mid-air with a Spin Kick. Which is enough for the undefeated Asuka to dethrone the current Smackdown Women's Champion.

    Winner
    Asuka (c)

    Time
    15:32

Tag Team match ~ The Revival defeats American Alpha via Shatter Machine with Dash Wilder getting the pin on Chad Gable at 10:51. This was the Revival's call-up match.

Shane McMahon enters the ring and talks to the WWE Universe about the exciting debuts of NXT talent on the Land of Opportunity. He states that both Asuka and The Revival have already made a big impact, and change the landscape of the show already. He segues this into the change that will occur next week. The SuperStar Shakeup that his father announced last night on Monday Night Raw. He puts over Smackdown Live, stating that everyone on Raw better pray that they wind up on the Land of Opportunity. On the type of show that still has an Intercontinental and WWE Championship match left in the night. Once his speech is finish, AJ Styles comes out and quickly addresses the SuperStar Shakeup, stating that he doesn't want to go anywhere. But that's not why he came out there, he extends his hand to Shane, and the two warriors shake hands in a sign of respect. Before exiting, Styles fakes an attack, and the tough have a little laugh. We go to commercial, when we come back we get a hype package for Lars Sullivan.

Intercontinental Championship: Street Fight Singles match ~ Dean Ambrose (c) defeats Baron Corbin via Dirty Deeds onto Steel Steps at 13:16. After the match, Dean Ambrose is attacked by Drew McIntyre. McIntyre beats up Ambrose eventually ending his assault with the Future Shock DDT. He raises the Intercontinental Championship up high before planting it back onto the body of the champion.

WWE Championship: Singles match ~ Randy Orton (c) defeats Bray Wyatt via RKO at 12:21. During the match's finish, Erik Rowan attempted to interfere in the match on behalf of Bray Wyatt, but Luke Harper came out and chased him off, eventually getting into crowd brawling. This temporarily distracted Wyatt long enough for Orton to hit the RKO. Wyatt kicked out of that one at two, leading to Orton going for another, Wyatt pushes him off, goes for a Sister Abigail but Orton pushed him off and then hit a second RKO for the win. After the match Orton closes the show celebrating with his WWE Championship.

Re: WWE: Another Passage [by Evangelestial & Tigerblood]

    RAW
    Episode #1246
    April 10, 2017

RAW starts with Paul Heyman in the ring. He's out to talk about his client, Brock Lesnar defending the Universal Championship against whoever wins the Number One Contenders tournament. He says it doesn't matter who wins the tournament because they are about to take a on way trip to Suplex City. The Miz with his wife, Maryse make their way out to the ring to proclaim that Miz is one of the newest Superstars to be debuting on RAW as part of the Superstar Shakeup. Miz says the tournament doesn't matter because RAW is now once again the A show, he goes on to announce that he's The Miz and he's awesome! Intercontinental Champion, Dean Ambrose makes his return to RAW as a part of the Superstar Shakeup, he asks Miz if he remembers him. He's the guy that defeated Miz for the Intercontinental Championship back in January and tonight he's gonna be the guy that embarrasses him tonight and send him back to Hollywood, where he says he honestly, probably doesn't belong. Kurt Angle comes out to confirm the match.

Singles match ~ Ember Moon defeats Emma via Eclipse at 6:37.

Roman Reigns makes his way out to the ring, he announced last week that he issued an open challenge last week to anyone on the RAW roster for the tournament and he wants to know who is man enough to take on "The Big Dog" in his yard." The lights go out and when they come back on, Bray Wyatt is back in the ring. He tells Roman that this may be his "yard" but the WWE is his "world" and that tonight he is going to send Roman Reigns back to the dog pound where he belongs. That match is conformed to be happening next.

First Round Universal Championship #1 Contender's Tournament: Singles match ~ Roman Reigns defeats Bray Wyatt via Superman Punch/Spear combination at 12:48.

Charly Caruso is backstage with Chris Jericho, who is slated to take on Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred Match for the United States Championship in the main event. Charly asks Jericho about his emotions going into the match tonight and Jericho talks about losing the United States Championship at Wrestlemania and how upsetting that was. Charly asks Jericho if he's nervous about tonight and what could happen. Jericho tells Caruso that for assuming that Jericho wouldn't win the match that she has made the list. At this point Kevin Owens comes into the room. He does a slow clap directed at Jericho, he welcomes Jericho to the Kevin Owens Show and tells him that he should be very nervous about what's going to happen tonight. Jericho laughs at KO and tells him that tonight, the Kevin Owens Show, just like his United States Championship reign are going to be cancelled.

Neville is in the ring with his new "best friend" TJP. Neville goes on to thank TJP for taking out Austin Aries after his Cruiserweight Championship match last week. Neville goes on to solidify himself as the greatest Cruiserweight Champion of all time. Austin Aries makes his way out to the rampway. He announces that he wants a rematch with Neville tonight. Neville refuses to give it to him. Aries asks for a match against both TJP and Neville, which Neville accepts saying how easy that match will be because there's two of them and only one Austin Aries. Aries laughs and them and says what they don't know is Aries has found a partner. Kalisto makes his way out to the ring to join AA in his match.

Tag Team match ~ Austin Aries and Kalisto defeat Neville and TJP via Discus Fivearm on TJP at 10:28. Post match Neville tries to take out Aries with the Cruiserweight Title but Aries misses and gets a Salida Del Sol from Kalisto for his efforts.

Backstage Mike Rome is with RAW's newest acquisition, former Smackdown Live Women's Champion Alexa Bliss. Bliss is here to tell us all about how she ruled the land of opportunity known as SD Live and tonight she will be taking on RAW Women's Champion Bayley. She mentions that Bayley is nothing but a loser and that tonight she has an insurance policy to help her guarantee a victory over the champ. When asked about her insurance policy Alexa just laughed and walked away.

Singles match ~ Dean Ambrose defeated The Miz, with Maryse, via Dirty Deeds at 11:09. Post match, Baron Corbin makes his way to the ring and he and Miz attack Dean Ambrose. Sami Zayn runs in to makes the save and the faces end up standing tall.

Kurt Angle announces that due to what just happened before the break he is announcing a huge tag team main event for next week as The Miz and Baron Corbin will take on Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose. We see another package highlighting Shinsuke Nakamura's NXT career and it announces that he is coming to RAW, at Payback!

The Club comes out to throw out and open challenge for tonight considering they need warmups before their match at Payback against The Hardyz in a few weeks. American Alpha make their way to the ring to accept the challenge.

Tag Team match ~ The Club defeats American Alpha at 6:19 via Magic Killer on Chad Gable. Post match, The Hardyz chase The Club out of the ring after a post match beat down on Alpha.

Singles match ~ Alexa Bliss defeats Bayley via Twisted Bliss at 14:08. During the match, Nia Jax came out and ran interference in the match taking out Charlotte who was in Bayley's corner.

Singles match ~ Jack Gallagher defeats Akira Tozawa via rollup in a triple threat match also involving Tony Nese at 4:29.

A video package airs announcing the RAW debuts of Breezango and former SD Women's Champion, Naomi next week.

United States Championship: No Holds Barred Singles match ~ Kevin Owens defeats Chris Jericho via Powerbomb off the ladder through a table at 23:19. Post match, Kevin Owens hits Chris Jericho with a Pop Up Powerbomb through the announce table. Kevin Owens stands tall over Jericho's bod with the US Title held high to end the show.

Re: WWE: Another Passage [by Evangelestial & Tigerblood]

    Smackdown Live
    Episode #921
    April 11th, 2017

WWE Champion Randy Orton stands proudly in the middle of the ring to begin Smackdown Live. Orton exclaims that after last week and with the Superstar Shake-up, he has succeeded in exiling Bray Wyatt from Smackdown Live! He puts himself over in a big way, stating that the Eater of Worlds was a dangerous opponent but ultimately, there was only ever going to be one winner of the war, and that was always going to be the 13 time World Heavyweight Champion, The Viper, Randy Orton! Orton doesn't celebrate for too long though, he states that he's fully aware that we didn't just lose talent in the Shake-Up and that there's a hungry locker-room of former Raw guys just itching for a shot at his Championship. He states if anyone wants there shot, now's their chance! United States Champion Kevin Owens makes his way to the ring. Owens doesn't hesitate to state his case as the Face of America, saying that even ignoring his recent successes brutalizing Jericho, Owens was guaranteed a rematch for the Universal Championship back when he was on Raw before Mania. Now that he's on Smackdown Live, Brock Lesnar gets to keep his Championship but KO is still contractual obligated to receive a World Championship match. Before Orton can respond, out comes Finn Balor. Finn looks Owens in the face and tells him to get to the back of the line, since he's been waiting since he had to vacate the Championship for his Championship rematch and more importantly, didn't he just beat Kevin Owens in a number one contender tournament match on Raw? Balor states he's not too happy with his developing habit of losing Championship opportunities without actually losing any matches. The Show-Off Dolph Ziggler interrupts stating that he's not too happy that Randy Orton is offering an opportunity to the new guys. That he's been on Smackdown Live since the brand split and has proven that he deserves that WWE Championship each and every night when he steals the show, and that he's not willing to lose his shot to some Raw rejects just because they're new toys for Randy to play with. AJ Styles is out next, stating that he agrees with Dolph Ziggler on one thing, the number one contender shouldn't just be restricted to the newcomers. AJ mentions that Smackdown Live is the house that he built but also, that despite him making amends with Shane McMcahon, Styles still hasn't received his one-on-one rematch for the WWE Championship. Shane McMahon comes out and states how thanks to the Superstar Shakeup, this is a fresh start for both Monday Night Raw & Smackdown Live. As such, tonight he plans on determining the number one contender for every Championship on Smackdown tonight, and then makes the main event for the evening, a fatal four way match between Balor, Ziggler, AJ Styles, and Kevin Owens is made tonight, with the winner facing Randy Orton at Backlash for the WWE Championship.

Smackdown Tag Team Championship's #1 Contender's: Tag Team match ~ Sheamus & Cesaro defeats Enzo Amore & Big Cass via Brogue Kick from Sheamus on Enzo Amore at 11:24. Enzo & Cass came out first, and got some promo time introducing themselves to the Smackdown audience (citing themselves as The Biggest Trades in the Shake-up and calling The Uso's Sawft).

Backstage we see United States Champion Kevin Owens confronting Shane McMahon about his decision to not only not give him the WWE Championship match immediately but for double booking him at Backlash. Shane McMahon agrees with Owens that it'd be unfair, since if Owens wins tonight he'd have to defend the US Championship and fight for the WWE Championship match all in one night. Owens responds with a good, then cancel the United States Championship number one contender's match tonight. Shane pretends to consider that option before telling Kevin Owens that he could just schedule the United States Championship match for next week instead. Owens is not pleased as Shane walks off.

United States Championship #1 Contender's: Singles match ~ Mojo Rawley defeats Curt Hawkins via a Running Corner Forearm Smash at 1:33.

Following the short number one contender's match, we get a backstage segment where Drew McIntyre is being questioned for his actions last week. McIntyre derides the question, stating that his intentions were obvious, he returned to Smackdown Live in order to reclaim his Intercontinental Championship. However his planned seemed to backfire. Either he beat Ambrose down so badly that he begged for Raw to take him, or that maybe Smackdown Live just didn't see the value in keeping him anymore. Either way, it doesn't matter, Dean is on Raw and he took the Intercontinental Championship with him, so McIntyre just has to set his sights elsewhere.

Smackdown Women's Championship #1 Contender's: Singles match ~ Becky Lynch defeats Natalya via a roll-up reversal as Natalya attempted to lock in the Sharpshooter at 12:46. Prior to the match we were treated to a package recapping the debut of Asuka and her championship victory over Naomi. After the match, Natalya blindsides the celebrating Becky Lynch and begins assaulting her. Sasha Banks cames out and makes the save, making her Smackdown Live debut in the process.

Before we get to the main event, we're treated to a few news and hype packages. Lars Sullivan is given another one, and Luke Harper vs. Erick Rowan is announced for next week, they also hype the United States Championship match between Kevin Owens & Mojo Rawley next week. Finally, we're informed of the final Super Shake-ups, when Summer Rae is medically cleared she'll be returning to Smackdown, and more importantly, we get a hype package for The New Day coming to Smackdown.

WWE Championship #1 Contender's: Fatal Four Way ~ Finn Balor defeats Dolph Ziggler, in a match also involving AJ Styles and Kevin Owens, via Coup de Grace at 24:17. During the match, whenever Kevin Owens almost won, AJ Styles broke the fall. At the finish, Kevin Owens hits Dolph Ziggler with a Pop-up Powerbomb and goes for the pin but once again Styles breaks the fall. Owens goes to deliver a Pop-up Powerbomb on AJ Styles but Styles hangs on to the ropes. Owens charges forward but is met with a big boot to the face, in the same motion as the kick Styles flips to the apron. He goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but Owens moves out of the way. Styles rolls through to the other side of the ring, and this time Owens manages to knock him outside with a clothesline. Owens looks frustrated down towards the downed Styles for a bit before turning his attention back to Dolph, who nails him with a Superkick. Ziggler however falls to the ground too due to the damaged he incurred, he uses the ropes in the corner to help him bring himself to his feet and when he regains composure and faces outward, Balor plants him with a running front dropkick, knocking Ziggler into the turnbuckle and back onto the ground, where Balor then hit the Coup de Grace to win the match. Smackdown Live comes to a close as Randy Orton interrupts the celebration, coming out to the stage, clapping for Finn before hoisting his WWE Championship in the air.

    RAW
    Episode #1247
    April 17th, 2017

Semi-finals Universal Championship #1 Contender's Tournament: Singles match ~ Braun Strowman defeats Sami Zayn via Running Powerslam at 6:49.

Post match Sami Zayn gets on the mic and begs Kurt Angle to let the tag team main event still go on. Kurt Angle comes out and announces that the match is still going to happen. He also announces he is awarding Roman Reigns a bye to the finals because Finn Balor was drafted to Smackdown Live and that is who Reigns opponent was scheduled to be. He also announces that Reigns will be in action tonight as he will be taking on former Shield brother, Seth Rollins.

Tag Team match ~ Bayley and Alicia Fox vs. Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax goes to a no contest at 14:11 when all hell breaks lose and everyone starts attacking each other. Angle comes out and announces that at Payback it will be Bayley vs Alicia Fox vs Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax for the RAW Womens Championship.

Backstage Charly Caruso is with Miz and Maryse. She reminds Miz that tonight he and Baron Corbin go up against Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose. Miz says that he shouldn't be thinking about wrestling in main events tonight because Kurt Angle told him earlier in the evening that he would be taking on Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship at Payback. He tells us that we'll be lucky if we even see Miz wrestle tonight because he has to mentally prepare for his match with Ambrose in to weeks.

Tag Team match ~ The Club defeats Breezango via Magic Killer on Fandango on 4:21. Post match, The Club call out the Hardy Boyz. The Hardy Boyz come out and Karl Anderson ends up getting hit with a Swanton Bomb through a table after a brawl.

Singles match ~ Jack Gallagher defeats Akira Tozawa via Gentlemen's Dropkick at 6:22.

Another promo airs for Shinsuke Nakamura reminding us that he arrives at Payback.

Backstage Aries is in Kurt Angle's office. He demands a rematch against Neville for the Cruiserweight Title at Payback. Kurt Angle makes it official and names TJP as the special guest referee. Neville and TJP then told by Mike Rome what has happened and Neville gives TJP a glaring look.

Singles match ~ Naomi defeats Charlotte via Rear View at 13:21. Mid match Dana Brooke came down and distracted the ref while Charlotte had Naomi in the Figure 8.

Singles match ~ Roman Reigns defeats Seth Rollins via DQ at 18:03 when Braun Strowman comes down and attacks Reigns. Post match, Samoa Joe comes out and chokes out Seth Rollins.

Singles match ~ Kalisto defeats Noam Dar, with Alicia Fox, via Salida Del Sol at 10:48.

Charly Caruso tries to get a word with Ember Moon about her match with Emma last week. Moon starts telling Charly how it was her dream to make it to the main roster and that she is so excited to finally be on RAW. Mid interview Emma attacks Ember Moon and yells at her telling her "It's Not Her Time" and "Go Back Where You Came From". She locks Moon in the Ember Lock and doesn't let go until officials come to drag her away.

Tag Team match ~ Baron Corbin and The Miz, with Maryse, defeats Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn via Skull Crushing Finale on Ambrose at 21:25. Miz was absent for most of the match and only came out when Baron Corbin seemed to be reeling. Post match Corbin hits an End of Days on all three men men to stand tall. Sami Zayn crawls to a mic to challenge Corbin to a Last Man Standing Match at Payback. Corbin accepts.

Re: WWE: Another Passage [by Evangelestial & Tigerblood]

With the refreshing of the brands post Mania, I like the idea of the number one contender for the Universal Championship being decided through a tournament. Strowman beating Zayn here makes complete sense considering their standings in the company.

I don’t really like the idea of wrestlers being booked twice in the one show unless it is a part of an angle. Zayn competing twice really just seems to be thrown in here for the sake of things so not a fan of that. Angle agreeing to the main event is fine, however Reigns getting a bye kind of devalues your eight man (pretty small to begin with) tournament. Haven’t really enjoyed the booking of things so far although Reigns/Rollins should be an awesome match.

I don’t mind all hell breaking loose in the women’s division, however I’m a little confused as to how this Superstar Shake Up is working... Sasha Banks just made her debut on the last edition of SD, yet now here she is competing on Raw. Working with a partner in a BTB, you’re going to need to be across each other plans and shows a little better than this. Not a great mistake to make, need more attention to detail.

Miz segment hyping up tonight’s main event and IC Title match at Payback was all solid enough. Only issue is that you called Charly Caruso a “he”. Caruso is a woman...

Coming off of their loss at Mania, The Club really needed a win so I had no issues with the result. You made the right decision, they need to look good heading into their title shot. The brawl with The Hardyz is fine to hype the PPV. Solid stuff here.

Gallagher beats Tozawa for the second week in a row? Is there a storyline building here? I hope so.

Love the idea of Nakamura debuting on Raw just because it’s so different to what occurred in real life. Looking forward to see how you use him.

Aries/Neville rematch being made makes sense. TJP as the special guest referee is a real wild card... Seems a little weird that the face GM in Angle would stack the deck against the face number one contender in Aries. As much as I like the idea of the match, the logic behind the booking probably doesn’t make a whole heap of sense.

A good win for Naomi on her Raw debut, and continues Charlotte/Dana Brooke issue. Good booking all around, no issues.

Reigns/Rollins would have been an awesome match and as much as the dirty finish is frustrating, from a booking point of view, it makes perfect sense. You save a clean finish for a future PPV match and hype Rollins/Joe and Reigns/Strowman. More solid stuff.

Three matches in a row without a segment in between? I don’t mind it if you were booking any other company, but it’s definitely not very WWE like. Kalisto gets a nice win, continuing his run of momentum since joining Raw. Nice.

Emma attacking Amber Moon after last week makes sense. Sounds like a solid feud building.

Main event was booked pretty well too. Hyped Corbin/Zayn, especially with the challenge at the end for LMS. On the other end of things, Miz looks great, pinning the IC Champion a few weeks before their match, even if he did it in a slightly dodgy way. A good ending to the show.

I was a little harsh here but the second half of the show had a lot better booking. Things seemed to actually make sense, whereas early on, things seemed a little all over the place. Certain aspects show that there is potential here, but you’ve still got some improvement to do. I look forward to checking back in and seeing how you progress, good luck.

FfffffuuuuuuuhowdidInotcatchthis? So fun fact, I actually code both shows because Tigerblood doesn't like coding (something's getting lost in translation, it's adding italics and removing bolds to his show, but I think I figured out why that's happening) so as such I read the show before it goes up on here and it's a real embarrassing that I didn't catch this. I was doing the coding late at night/early in the morning and it's not a good excuse but I really should've caught that. For him I'm pretty sure it was just the time in-between writing shows and maybe he didn't check Smackdown before sending it to me. But just to clarify, Sasha Banks is on Smackdown. I don't know if we should have a quick segment re-write, throw somebody else in there instead of Sasha, maybe that's frowned upon but I got my next three shows booked (one to be posted later today before I leave for work) and I don't think I could really incorporate this into the show. I'll have to talk to him later today when we're both up. Our bad. Thank you for catching this, it's good that someone's paying attention since we're not lol. This won't happen again.

As a side note to the Superstar Shakeup, I'm just going to share how we decided who goes where! Basically what I had us do (I'm just going to mention at this point I got Tigerblood's blessing on all the ideas and we're friend IRL and have been for over a decade at this point) was make three lists. One list for the top ten people we wanted to keep, one for the top ten people we wanted to take, and one for the top five people we don't want. For the last one, if I had say Bray Wyatt on there, Raw would be able to take him if he wanted. And that did happen. As for the other two lists, there was three steps. I. If a wrestler one of us wanted to take wasn't in the top ten of the other person's keep list, we got that superstar no questions ask. I got Enzo & Cass this way, and he got freakin' Naomi this way (hence why I had her drop it to Asuka day one). Second, if one person had the take five spots higher than the keep, they got them again. This is how I got Sasha, I believe she was second or third and was like seven or eighth for him. That was the only case of that happening, since being about half a list apart isn't easy. Thirdly, from there we simply traded superstars by making deals. For example, in order to secure Kevin Owens for Smackdown, I had to offer him Dean Ambrose, Alexa Bliss, and American Alpha. I don't regret it.

Re: WWE: Another Passage [by Evangelestial & Tigerblood]

    Smackdown Live
    Episode #922
    April 18th, 2017

Tag Team match ~ Randy Orton & Finn Balor defeats Dolph Ziggler & AJ Styles via Coup de Grace from Finn Balor on Dolph Ziggler at 18:43. During the match Dolph was a terrible partner to AJ, constantly tagging himself in or hard tagging Styles into the match. Also, the team of Ziggler & Styles were never in complete control when Balor was the legal man. The finish came when Orton hot-tagged Balor in, Balor ducked a clothesline from Ziggler and hit with the Overhead Kick, and then followed up with a Sling Blade. He went to the corner to set-up for the front dropkick but Ziggler dashed towards Finn when he did and knocked both down with a clothesline. Ziggler then crawled to AJ & jumped to tag Styles in but Styles moved his hand at the last second before jumping off the apron. Ziggler yells at him as he gets to his feet, once he turns around Balor nails him with a dropick into the corner, setting him up for the Coup de Grace that won the match.

We see a video package hyping the United States Champion Kevin Owens. It gleams over his Universal Championship reign and feud with Jericho, with Owens winning the Championship from Jericho and successfully defending it on Raw in devastating fashion. Concluding with Owens' proclamation that he is the new Face of America. The commentators hype up the main event of Owens vs. Mojo for the United States Championship, and hype up that another champion, Asuka will be making her tag team debut on Smackdown Live next week, teaming with Natalya to take on the team of Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. But for now, a re-match of last week.

Singles match ~ Becky Lynch, with Sasha Banks, defeats Natalya via Dis-Arm-Her at 8:37. The finish came when Natalya was using the ropes to gain leverage on Becky while applying the Sharpshooter. Since the referee didn't notice as Natalya would only do it during intervals the ref wasn't looking, Sasha took matters into her own hands, pushing the ropes while Nattie's hand rested on them, causing her to weaken her hold, allowing Becky to break out and lock on the Dis-Arm-Her.

Singles match ~ Luke Harper vs. Erick Rowan ended in a double countout at 5:04 as the two men continued fighting outside and even when the bell rung signalling the end of the match. The two ended up fighting out of the arena to close the segment.

Backstage we're treated to Enzo & Cass, who run into Carmella. After some not exactly friendly NXT reunion banter, James Ellsworth shows up having completed the errands Carmella sent him on, and with gifts for her. Ellsworth realizes the realest guys in the room and questions Carmella who they are and if they're bothering her. Enzo & Cass verbally tear into Ellsworth while also introducing themselves to him and finally questioning Carmella's decisions in partners. Carmella rolls her eyes and sighs before instructing Jimmy to "let's go". Following that, we transition to an interview with Sheamus & Cesaro, talking about their number one contender status and how coming to Smackdown Live doesn't really feel that different, since they'll be dominating the tag division regardless. The interview segment doesn't get to conclude properly however, as the Usos jump the challengers from behind and mount a surprise attack. They take the mic left behind by the scared interview and makes it known to the camera that those two were right about something, the shake-up really didn't make anything different in the tag division, since The Usos ain't dropping these belts to anybody.

Singles match ~ Aiden English defeats Curt Hawkins via a Director's Cut at 2:10. Before the match, Curt Hawkins labelled himself as a star factory, that those who encounter him became big successes, as evidenced by Mojo Rawley going from WrestleMania pre-show to Smackdown Live main event. English comes out insisting he's already a star, and will prove it tonight . . . by singing. After twenty or so seconds, Hawkins tells the ref to ring the bell, which he does. Hawkins got a cheap shot in at first but English ended up dominating. After the match, Drew McIntyre sneak attacks English and proceeds to beat up both of them, hitting each with a Future Shock DDT.

We see another promo for The New Day and Lars Sullivan. The commentators hype up the future debuts of the incoming stars to Smackdown Live before switching to discussing the rising stars on the Land of Opportunity. We get a hype package for Mojo Rawley, highlighting his career highlights, like winning the number one contenders match with Ryder before Zack's injury cost them the shot, beating Curt Hawkins to become the number one contender for the United States Championship, and most importantly winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

United States Championship: Singles match ~ Kevin Owens (c) defeats Mojo Rawley via Pop-Up Powerbomb at 13:32. The finish came when Mojo Rawley was going for his Running Corner Forearm Smash but Kevin Owens met him halfway, countering his finish into a Pop-up Powerbomb, using Mojo's momentum against him. However, during the three count the ref missed that Mojo's hand was under the ropes.

The Hardyz go on to mention that come this Sunday, The Club's chances of winning the RAW Tag Titles are obsolete and that tonight, Gallows, Anderson and The Miz will be deleted.

Triple Threat match ~ Neville defeats TJP, in a match also involving Austin Aries, via Red Arrow at 11:02. Post match, TJP refuses to shake either mans hand when they offer it leaving them both extremely puzzled.

Breezango are seen backstage giving out tickets to the people they find with bad fashion, including writing a huge ticket to Michael Hayes.

Six-Man Tag Team match ~ The Hardy Boyz and Dean Ambrose defeats The Club and The Miz, with Maryse, via Dirty Deeds on Miz at 16:28.

Re: WWE: Another Passage [by Evangelestial & Tigerblood]

    Smackdown Live
    Episode #923
    April 25th, 2017

Smackdown Live begins with the show-off Dolph Ziggler calling out AJ Styles for costing him the match last week. AJ Styles doesn't take much time in coming out. He tells Dolph that he doesn't have to be so angry just because he's been beaten by Finn Balor twice in a row now. In fact, Styles should've been a little more upset with Dolph, considering he cost him a shot at reclaiming his WWE Championship by losing the fatal four way. But AJ was going to be the bigger man, and properly work with Ziggler last week, yet all he got from Dolph was a total lack of respect. He gets that Dolph had to stroke his massive ego after losing to Finn but you do not treat AJ Styles like that and get away with it. Stating that if Dolph wants a match, he's got it! What seems like it would be the ending of the segment is only the beginning, as Shane McMahon makes his way down the arena to the surprise of both individuals. He says he's not here to put the kibosh on that match but to make two amendments to it. First, they will fight tonight in the Main Event of Smackdown Live! Secondly, because there's no United States Championship match scheduled for Backlash, it will be a United States Championship number one contender's match. Kevin Owens comes out immediately, quickly telling Shane no, no, no, that's not going to happen. He just defended his Championship last week on Smackdown, in a match that Shane stated was in lieu of him having to defend it at Backlash. Shane says "you're correct, technically". Re-clarifying with that was under the condition that Owens won the number one contender Fatal Four Way, since he lost it, he will defend it at Backlash. Well, maybe. Shane tells Kevin that he's glad he came out here because he watched Smackdown Live last week and saw that Mojo's hand was under the rope, so the match should've continued. Because of that, Shane calls Mojo out for another United States Championship match, right now!

United States Championship: Singles match ~ Kevin Owens (c) defeats Mojo Rawley via Pop-Up Powerbomb at 9:27. The finish came when Owens went for a Pop-Up Powerbomb but Mojo managed to leap frog him, then running against the ropes and nailing Owens with a shoulder tackle. Owens regroups by the corner ropes, setting up for the Running Corner Forearm Smash that just like last week, Owens countered into a Pop-Up Powerbomb. This time however, instead Mojo grabs the ropes right before 3, which the referee does notice and breaks the fall. Owens then hits Mojo with a second Pop-Up Powerbomb from the center of the ring to retain his championship.

We get another promo hyping up the juggernaut of Lars Sullivan. We return from that to Heath Slater out in the middle of the ring with a microphone, and he begins by stating that he's out here to talk about his tag partner. No, not Rhyno, he's in the back eating some cheese and crackers, but a tag partner of old. One that back in the day, Slater use to rock out with, in a Three Man Band. He ain't talking about Raw's Jinder, he's talking about Smackdown Live's newest acquisition, Drew McIntyre! He asks Drew to come out here because there's something they need to address. Drew McIntyre responds, he comes out but doesn't say anything, just scowls while waiting for Slater to continue. Slater talks about how he isn't a fan of what Drew is doing, he understood taking out Ambrose but what did attacking Aiden English and Curt Hawkins accomplish? He tells Drew that he thinks he needs to rein his aggression in a bit, and he says this as a friend. Drew snatches the microphone from Slater's hand at this point, and defiantly declares that they aren't friends. He tells Slater that Three Man Band, is the biggest low-point of his life. Not because he almost never won with them, not because of the stupid crap he had to do with them but because he associated himself with a pathetic excuse of a wrestler in Heath Slater. Slater pleas with Drew that he doesn't really mean that, Drew answers with action, knocking Slater down the microphone and lifting him up for the Future Shock DDT. Rhyno rushes out to come to Slater's aid, seeing this, Drew plants Slater with the Future Shock DDT and manages to escape the ring right as Rhyno charges in. Drew McIntyre's leaves the ring with a confident, smug smirk as Rhyno checks on his tag team partner.

When we return to Smackdown, we are informed by the commentary of two matches announced for next week Smackdown's. First, because of the incident that occurred just moments ago, Drew McIntyre will have his first match back on Smackdown Live next week, against Rhyno. And because of the events that occurred last week, they are very excited to announce Luke Harper vs. Erik Rowan in a Steel Cage next week as well. However, they are changing gears to right now, as they have a massive match up next. The Tag Team debut of Asuka on Smackdown Live.

Tag Team match ~ Asuka & Natalya defeats Becky Lynch & Sasha Banks via Asuka Lock on Becky Lynch at 14:35.

Smackdown receives another hype package for The New Day. We come back to see James Ellsworth and Carmella walking backstage, running into Enzo Amore and Big Cass. Another exchange is made, starting with James Ellsworth talking a semi-big game, about the two boys who are jealous that Carmella ditched them for a real man. Enzo refers to them as a cuppa haters and as Enzo, and particularly Cass, start upping their promo game against Ellsworth, he starts to back down a bit, until Carmella, who is paying more attention to her phone, nudges James to stand up a bit more when they bring Carmella into it. Ellsworth does, and that prompts Cass to ask if Ellsworth want to get in the ring and settle it there. Ellsworth looks Cass straight in the eye as he proudly boasts "Yes I do . . . next week . . . against him [pointing to Enzo]". A little taken back by Ellsworth switch, Enzo agrees, they'll see him there. We return to the commentary desk where Phillips & JBL are joined by the number one contender to the Smackdown Tag Team Championships Sheamus and Cesaro as The Usos are set to take on WWE Champion Randy Orton and number one contender Finn Balor.

Tag Team match ~ The Usos defeats Randy Orton & Finn Balor via disqualification at 8:58 when Sheamus & Cesaro attack The Usos from the commentary booth after witnessing the two begin to play dirty against Randy Orton sneaking in a low-blow. After the match as the number one contenders pursue the Champions, Balor checks on Randy Orton, helping him up to his feet which cause Randy to push him off. It seems like it might come to blows for a second but Orton apologies, and the two handshake to show there's no ill feelings between the two.

Curt Hawkins comes out boasting about his ability to create stars. Two weeks ago, it was Mojo Rawley, who competed in two back to back United States Championship matches thanks to his match with Hawkins. Last week, it was Aiden English, who was the center of conversation between Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre earlier in that night. So who will be the third star born from a night with Curt Hawkins. To everyone's surprise, Zack Ryder's music plays, as the former Edgehead makes his way down the ramp. When he gets in the ring, he tells Hawkins that he isn't here to fight. He couldn't if he wants to, as he still isn't cleared to return. No, he was here tonight to support his bro Mojo Rawley for his United States Championship match, Shane told him about last week, while here, he couldn't help but hear what his former bro, Curt Hawkins was saying. He has a clear heart-to-heart with Hawkins, reminding him of their days with Edge how they were Tag Team champions in the middle of everything they always wanted. But now, Ryder is a former United States and Intercontinental Champion and Hawkins, "you're bragging about losing to Aiden English". He asserts that it's time for Hawkins to face the facts, he doesn't belong here anymore. "Sorry Bro." Ryder pats his former friend on the shoulder before making his exit. Hawkins remains in the ring for a little while, contemplating Zack's words with a sadden expression on his face, before he too makes his exit from the ring.

United States Championship #1 Contender's: Singles match ~ AJ Styles defeats Dolph Ziggler via Phenomenal Forearm at 15:46.

Re: WWE: Another Passage [by Evangelestial & Tigerblood]

    Smackdown Live
    Episode #924
    May 2nd, 2017

Dolph Ziggler starts off Smackdown Live once more, and he isn't pleased. He runs down all the competitors on Smackdown, claiming that despite what you've been seeing recently, he is still the main attraction of Smackdown Live. Yet not only does he not have a Championship match at Backlash, he isn't even on the card yet! Instead, we got AJ Styles, Finn Balor, Sheamus, and Cesaro challenging for titles, like Dolph isn't better than any of them. Hell, Ziggler guarantees that he could beat Asuka too, Becky loser Lynch. He moves on to the Champions, are bunch of wrestlers who are holding on to gold simply because Dolph hasn't been afforded an opportunity at their belts yet. And if the show-off really wanted to steal the show, he could. He could even win the Tag titles without needing a partner because that's what it means to the best, and despite his recent shortcomings, he is is the best. WWE Champion Randy Orton interrupts him, stating that he couldn't stand the delusional drivel anymore. He ask Dolph if he's been beaten up so bad that he can no longer think straight, his last Intercontinental title reign barely lasted a month and now suddenly he thinks he can defeat Orton. "And no, you couldn't beat Asuka either." Dolph tells Orton it must be nice to finally be able to speak confidently to someone, seeing as Finn Balor's been making him look like a chump in comparison. This irritates Orton, stating that if Finn's made anyone look like a chump, it's Ziggler. Ziggler then demands a match of the chumps, tonight! And Orton accepts, setting the main event for the evening.

Singles match ~ AJ Styles defeats Apollo Crews at 6:19 via Phenomenal Forearm. After the match, Kevin Owens comes out and sneak attacks AJ Styles, knocking him down with a hard shot to the back of the head, followed by a Pop-Up Powerbomb. He grabs a mic and tells the fallen Styles that he's glad AJ won last week because he still hasn't forgiven him for costing him his rightful shot at the WWE Championship on his first night on Smackdown Live.

After a Lars Sullivan and New Day hype package we see the steel cage being lowered to the ring. The commentators hype up the encounter between Luke Harper and Erik Rowan in a steel cage match. Stating that the rivalry between the two former Wyatt Family has been filled with an intensity that hasn't been able to contained in the ring alone, so they're adding a steel cage to keep the madness locked in.

Steel Cage Singles match ~ Luke Harper vs. Erik Rowan never starts. Instead, when Erik Rowan was making his entrance, Luke Harper ran off the ropes and jumped at one of the cage walls, causing the wall to careen down onto Erik Rowan. Both men lie down from the collision, as we head to break.

Singles match ~ Enzo Amore, with Big Cass, defeats James Ellsworth, with Carmella, via running crossbody at 0:11. After the match, Enzo and Big Cass barely celebrate, however they do look at Carmella while pointing out Ellsworth, gesturing "Really? Him, Really?" over and over again, as Carmella takes Ellsworth to the back and tries to ignore them.

Backstage, Becky Lynch is being interviewed. She is asked a very simple question, after tapping to Asuka last week in tag team action, how is Becky feeling now about her chances at Backlash. Becky Lynch says she was there at Brooklyn II. She watched her fellow horsewomen Bayley, give everything she had against Asuka. Fight harder than she's ever seen her fight in order to defeat Asuka. She was there as Asuka overcame the best Bayley had, retaining her title in decisive factor. Becky knew what Asuka was capable of, and somehow, she still underestimated her. She can not afford, to allow that to happen again, and that her focus since her loss last week is simply to train. To train harder than she every has before, to train until she can barely move, because if that's what it takes to dethrone Asuka then that's what she'll do. Natalya interrupts at this point, saying that her proud warrior talk is a little misguided, in truth, Becky lost Asuka and Natalya, and that maybe Lynch should relinquish her title match, since the result is already clear. Sasha Banks interjects to back up Becky, stating that Becky has more important things to worry about then a sore loser who only won thanks to her partner. This leads to the two making a match against each-other for later tonight.

Singles match ~ Drew McIntyre vs. Rhyno never starts. As Rhyno was making his entrance, Drew McIntyre ran out early and blindsided him. After a few beatdown moves, McIntyre goes for the kill, Future Shock DDT onto the steel stage. Thankfully for Rhyno, Heath Slater makes his way out to help Rhyno. Drew drops Rhyno and begins fending of Slater without much trouble. Eventually Slater does get a remarkable good shot on McIntyre, turning him around 180 degrees. Just in time to see Rhyno charging at him, McIntyre manages to avoid and even help direct Rhyno's into accidentally delivering a Gore to his tag team partner Slater. While Rhyno looks on in shame over his accidental friendly fire, Drew McIntyre manages to hit Rhyno with that Future Shock DDT.

Singles match ~ Sheamus, with Cesaro, defeats Jimmy Uso, with Jey Uso, via Brogue Kick at 7:11.

The commentators mention that Shane McMahon announced next week that Drew McIntyre will face Rhyno next week, and he will be going out first in order to avoid any of the mayhem we witnessed earlier in the night. We then get another Summer Rae promo, hyping her eventual debut on Smackdown Live before transition to the women's match of the night.

Singles match ~ Natalya defeats Sasha Banks via count-out at 2:42. The story of the match was simple, the two would hook up and grapple for a bit, with Sasha getting the advantage resulting in Natalya rolling out of the ring for a bit. On the third time she did this Sasha got tired of waiting and meet her outside with a suicide dive. Sasha then controlled the action outside. Natalya was on the ground by the 8 count, so Sasha went to pick her up to throw her back into the ring. This is when Natalya struck, slamming Sasha into the announce table, and then scurrying in the ring herself. Sasha just missed returning to the ring before the 10 count, and Natalya quickly exited the ring in self-congratulatory fashion.

Aiden English is out in the ring, and tells the WWE Universe that the rude Curt Hawkins might have interrupted him last time but tonight he'll be able to give a full performance. He begins singing once more, and Curt Hawkins interrupts him once again, this time not from behind though. He gets on the mic and says that last week his former bro Zack Ryder laid some harsh facts on him, Curt Hawkins was settling on just being there, he wasn't the competitor he knows he is. And he's going to return the favor but laying some harsh facts of his own. "Aiden English, it's time to FACE THE FACTS! You can't sing." Aiden English isn't amused stating that Hawkins is the same loser he was two weeks ago, Hawkins denies this. He has FACED THE FACTS, and he can beat Aiden now, and he'll prove it.

Singles match ~ Aiden English defeats Curt Hawkins via Director's Cut at 6:37. Unlike last time, English doesn't end up dominating, instead this match was evenly fought.

Singles match ~ Dolph Ziggler defeats Randy Orton via Superkick at 10:23. The finish of the match was Orton going for an RKO but Ziggler pushed him off and went for a Superkick. Orton caught the leg however, and span him around. When Ziggler returned facing Orton he went for another RKO but this time Ziggler countered with a school boy. Orton kicked out at two and when both returned to their feet Ziggler dropped him with the winning Superkick. After the match Ziggler continued attacking Orton, still angry at his current position and Orton's earlier comments. Finn Balor makes his way to the ring and he and Ziggler trade blows until Finn gains the advantage, clotheslining Ziggler out of the ring. Finn then helps Orton up to his feet, Orton however betrays this kindness, nailing Balor with an RKO. Orton seems confused when he sees Finn lying on the ground. He looks outside to see Dolph Ziggler and then back at Finn. Orton's hand cover his face as his stumbles into the corner, with an expression of "What have I just done?" on his face. Finn Balor slowly seems to be getting up, and Orton expressions swiftly changes to a smirk. He dashes from the corner to Finn, nailing him with the Punt Kick. Orton then grabs his WWE Championship from the official, and stands over Finn's motionless body as he hoists his WWE Championship in the air.

All of the sudden the lights go out and when they come back on, Bray Wyatt is on the titantron. He tells Rollins that his pain and suffering, is nothing compared to what's coming. He goes on to mention that he said last week that RAW was going to regret putting Bray Wyatt on the backburner, and if he has to, he's going to take out everybody one at a time, starting with the "golden boy" Seth Rollins. He tells Seth that next week, he's coming for him, and that Seth can run, but there's no way in hell that he can hide. Bray laughs then blows out his lantern before the arena goes dark.

Tag Team match ~ Charlotte and Bayley defeats Naomi and Emma via Bayley to Belly/Figure Eight combination on Emma at 12:43. Post match, Charlotte is met with a Rear View by Naomi.

Mike Rome is backstage with Baron Corbin and he asks why Corbin took out Shinsuke Nakamura last week. Baron goes on to say that since day one Nakamura has been touted as the "Next Big Thing" here in WWE and that he is tired of playing second fiddle to a guy who can't even speak five words of English. He mentions that he put Nakamura in the hospital where hopefully he stays for good, because if Nakamura ever tries to be even in the same building as him, Corbin is going to make sure that next time, he doesn't just take him out, but that he ends his career.

#1 Contender's Intercontinental Championship Shot for Sami Zayn: Singles match ~ The Miz, with Maryse defeats Sami Zayn via Skull Crushing Finale at 18:03. The finish came when Zayn was about to hit Miz with a Helluva kick, the man in the mask came back out and distracted him. Post match, Charly Caruso tried to get a word in with Miz, Maryse, and the Masked Man, but they all just ignored her and got in a limo.

Pick Your Poison: Anything Goes Singles match ~ Big Show defeats Roman Reigns via KO Punch at 19:38. The finish came when Joe who was ringside called out Braun Strowman for assistance. Strowman's music hit distracting Reigns long enough for Joe to lock Reigns in the Coquina Clutch and Big Show to hit the KO Punch and get the win. Joe announces that next week to kick off RAW, he will announce what the stipulation of his match is at Extreme Rules, that way it has to eat away at Reigns every moment of everyday for the next week.

    Smackdown Live
    Episode #925
    May 9th, 2017

Kicking off Smackdown Live this week is none other than WWE Champion Randy Orton, who's getting showered with boos as he begins to speak. He tells the WWE Universe that he's got some very bad news, Finn Balor is not here tonight on Smackdown Live. Not only that but Finn Balor will not be available to compete for the WWE Championship at Backlash. And it gets worse, Finn Balor will probably never compete in a WWE ring again. Randy Orton tells fans that the injury causing all this happened last week on Smackdown Live but he can't quite remember what caused the injury. Thankfully, with the magic of instant replay though, 'we' can find out together what ultimately cost Finn Balor his career. Orton throws to the titantron, which then proceeds to show a replay of the RKO and more importantly the Punt Kick. A slow-motion of the Punt Kick is played before we turn back over to Randy, who know has the biggest smirk on his face. Orton begins to boast that he doesn't even need to wrestle someone to prove that he is the best in WWE, he can annihilate anyone with just one kick. "So if anyone wants to join the Balor Club in the hospital wing, you can just come find me!" Shane McMahon comes out and he looks livid. He tells Randy Orton, that you're lucky to still be Champion, you're lucky to still have a job. The Punt Kick was banned for a reason, if you use the move one more time, you can kiss your legacy goodbye. Because unfortunately, Finn will probably not make his WWE Championship match at Backlash. Dolph Ziggler comes out and tells Shane he knows exactly where this is headed. Let's just cut all the pomp and circumstance and crown him the new number one contender, after all, Dolph did just defeat Randy Orton last week. Shane is about to make it official, but out comes Mojo Rawley. Mojo tells Shane that he knows, he knows he failed him. That for two straight weeks, he wasn't able to capture the United States Championship. So coming out here to request an opportunity for the WWE Championship, maybe that's out of the question. But Mojo believes he can do it. He tells Shane that if you give him a number one contender's match against Ziggler, he promises that he can beat him. Dolph demands Shane ignore this loser and just award him the shot like everybody knows Dolph deserves. Much to Dolph's dismay, Shane liked Mojo's idea better.

Singles match ~ Cesaro, with Sheamus, defeats Jey Uso, with Jimmy Uso, via Neutralizer at 6:54.

Singles match ~ Kevin Owens defeats Apollo Crews by disqualification when AJ Styles attack Kevin Owens at 6:26. During the match, AJ Styles was guest commentator. The finish came when Kevin Owens was outside setting up for the Apron Powerbomb on Apollo Crews but he sent out faulty signals. Instead of sending Apollo into the ring apron, he sent him flying into AJ Styles instead. Kevin Owens then went inside the ring to wait for a count-out victory but AJ stormed the ring before that happened. The two brawl for a bit before Owens escapes the ring to the commentator's booth, where Apollo Crews from behind throws him back in the ring for AJ, who hits Owens with a Styles Clash to end the segment.

We return to a Lars Sullivan promo. The commentators hype up the debut of that monster but say that while we still have a way to go for him, we're technically getting a debut coming up, as Drew McIntyre will take on Rhyno in his first match since returning to Smackdown Live. But first we just got word of two new Backlash matches. The first, being Sasha Banks will take on Natalya, the second, Luke Harper will take on Erick Rowan in a falls count anywhere match!

Singles match ~ Drew McIntyre defeats Rhyno, with Heath Slater via Future Shock DDT at 9:18. Following the match, Drew McIntyre kicks Rhyno out of the ring, and eggs Heath Slater into the ring. Heath Slater doesn't bite, instead he lifts Rhyno up and helps him to the back. Drew doesn't let them go peacefully, as charges for them. Rhyno catches this and pushes Slater off him at the last second, meaning Drew only tackled Rhyno to the ground. Slater takes advantage of this and immediately unloads on McIntyre, quickly hitting Sweetness and Smash Hit in succession on the ramp. Slater yells to McIntyre, "You want a fight! Fine, you got one! Backlash!" before helping Rhyno up to the back again.

Backstage we see James Ellsworth catch up with Carmella and expressing sorrow for being unable to beat that bully Enzo last week. He just hopes Carmella can forgive him. He gets no response so he asks again if Carmella can forgive him. Again, Carmella ignores him. Almost like a tumbleweed blowing through, Curt Hawkins drifts by the scene, practicing some singing notes. After failing a note, he mumbles to himself "Come on, I know I can beat him where it hurts the most" before resuming his practice off scene. Ellsworth chuckles to Carmella what was that about? but again is meet with radio silence. Ellsworth gets on his knees to beg for a response, and Carmella just ups and walks away. We return to the commentators, JBL makes light of Ellsworth's plight but then they move on to big news. Asuka will be in competition next week on Smackdown Live. They begin to hype up her aura when Natalya's music plays and she comes out.

Natalya states that she had to say something after hearing that she'll be facing Smackdown Live's newest loser in Sasha Banks at Backlash. She clarifies that the "new" only refers to her status as a Smackdown Live wrestler, Sasha was a loser back on Raw too. She goes on to say that she should be in Becky's spot instead, especially since Asuka's already beaten her but she doesn't mind the easy paycheck and win. Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch come out and immediately defend themselves. Becky states that she's aware that she lost, and has been training non-stop to ensure that doesn't happen again. But in case Natalya forgot why she got the shot in the first place, it's because she made Nattie tap out. Sasha chimes in with a question for Natalya, what "loser" is a three time Women's Championship. She then asks how many Women Championships Natalya's won before answering for her "Oh right, none. But hey, you won the Diva's tile once, back before the revolution came in". Natayla says it seems like they need to gang up on her in order to feel superior. If you want a match, she isn't giving one without a tag partner. Sasha says it's too bad Asuka's not here til next week, since she's your only chance of victory. Becky doesn't look thrilled with the comment but before anything is said, Mickie James comes out. She tells Natalya that she'll gladly team up with her. Cause apparently it wasn't just empty talk from Bliss, as Sasha just outright insulted the division prior to her a arrival. Mickie brings a referee down with her.

Tag Team match ~ Natalya & Mickie James defeats Becky Lynch & Sasha Banks via Mick Kick on Sasha Banks at 11:07. The finish match came when the tag match erupted into a huge brawl between the four competitors while Sasha and Mickie where the legal participants. Once the brawl commenced, the first notable moment was Becky taking Mickie out with an Exploder Suplex. Shortly after that Natalya would knock her down with a Discus Clothesline. Following that Sasha and Nattie would brawl for a bit ending with Sasha hitting Natalya with a Bankrupt, and then kicking her as she rolls her way out of the ring. When Sasha turns around she was immediately planted by the winning Mick Kick of the recently recovered Mickie James.

Before the main event, we're treated to yet another hype package for The New Day, who are promised to be coming to Smackdown Live pretty soon.

WWE Championship #1 Contender's: Singles match ~ Dolph Ziggler defeats Mojo Rawley via Superkick at 11:15.
