If the likes of Barca cant score in Turin i cant see Monaco staging a major comeback tonight, im sure Juve will look to hit on the counter early and then shut up shop for sure.

Athletico gave it a fair crack of the whip tonight and got two good goals which meant game on, but that benzima run and skill to make Real's goal was flawless probably the best assist ive seen all season, taking three players on at once. Quality.

Real is odd this season. They rarely feel like a great side, yet they win and have moments of brilliance. They could end up with the double, though I don't know how much attacking love they will get against Juventus.

Already seen some people saying this is the end of a golden era for Atletico, even if Simeone stays. They are going to need to make some changes, even if Griezmann isn't sold. But he will be.

It's Juventus vs Real Madrid in the CL final. Happy that Juve are through to the final. Good achievement for Monaco to make the semis. Hope Juventus win the CL. Buffon deserves to win the CL.

Really thought Atletico would make a comeback from 2-0 up but Real scored and there was no way back for Atletico. Real Madrid now aiming to become the first team to win the CL back to back. Atletico are the first team to get knocked out by the same opponents four years in a row.

Well...they basically did that already when they won the first 5 European Cups. Of course, the name and format has changed, but its the continuation of the old European Cup history...therefore, if you want to be exact, Real did that already. It would be the first back to back win, since '89 though.

Probably the the best ive seen all season, never going to risk touching Benzima in the box tbh.

Very true. Its a bit annoying how UEFA pretends that the Champions Cup didn't exist most of the time. Same thing happens with the Premier League ignoring records from the old First Division.

One of the most impressive things about that assist is that the Atletico defenders are top class.

Yeah I know. It's just that ever since they started calling it the CL, no team has retained. It is annoying though as the European Cup/Champions League is the same competition. Really hope Real Madrid don't retain.

Benzema showed great skill but it was absolute piss poor defending.

Another poor performance tonight in my book, could be easily out of the competition with the last kick of the game, how he missed that i never know.

Dissapointed with the quality on the feild tonight, Pogba and Rashford played well in my book but another CB down for the final which is a shame, no need to raise your hands to anyone no matter how much contact just dosnt matter.

Through to the final though and expect United to win it but tonight again was a massive let off.

Never experienced an atmosphere like that in Old Trafford. Went from confident and signing Mourinho's name to anger against him and nerves everywhere. However I do have some sympathy. United will play 64 matches this season. No player can deal with that amount of games.

Re: Champions League and Europa League Discussion 9th-11th May 2017

Yeah another horrendous performance. Out-played by Celta at Old Trafford, embarrassment. No clue how Guidetti missed that chance last second, would have been even more horrendous with all his "Manchester is Blue" shite before hand too. 39% possession at home to a mid-table Spanish side is pretty hilarious, but at the end of the day lucky or not we're in the final - most important thing.

Over the two legs I'd say we edged the tie too, but that's really only because Celta were so awful at home.

Bailly was an idiot for his sending off, will be a big miss for the final. Was probably our best player on the night for me (even though you could argue he was at fault for the goal too).

Ajax are going to be a much better side than any team we've faced in the Europa League so far this season. Just a question of whether their youngsters play the final with no fear or if they fold into their shell.

    And he scores goals...!

We were all over the place defensively last night. Wouldn't say Bailly had a good game at all. The only player who reached his potential was Mkhitaryan for me.

The strange thing is I'm the first half we played well. It was like Mourinho said at half-time 'we are 2-0 up no so let's stop attacking'. Subs were so negative as well.

Re: Champions League and Europa League Discussion 9th-11th May 2017

Bailly was winning everything and made a couple of great blocks before he lost his head - thought he was easily our best player on the pitch before his sending off. Valencia, Blind and Darmian were crap. Both full-backs refuse to go forward now too, was so obvious last night - not sure if that is Jose's doing, lack of confidence or what. Valencia particularly could roast lads down that right with acres in front of him at times and he just stops, turns back and knocks it left to Bailly or Herrera, so infuriating. Blind just had a really off game, even his passing wasn't as crisp as it usually is and he went walkabouts a few times defensively. Romero is a great back-up keeper, almost deserves a chance as a #1 at a decent club.

I thought Mhik was decent in parts but distinctly average at other times, as he has been the past 2-3 months - has lost a lot of his form from around the turn of the year. Whenever he got the ball and ran at Celta he did well, but his end product was poor and tended to misplace passes far too often. The way Jose has him playing probably not helping him tbf.

Rashford the only other player I'd say on the night stood out as having a good game, but he flickers in out of games, purely because we aren't getting the ball up to him.

We were shite in the first half too tbh, just so much worse in the second half. We settled for the 1-0 way too early and just wanted to cling on.

    And he scores goals...!

Surprised to see no thread up for the Europa league final. At work so I'll just quickly post in here. I really hope Ajax win but Man Utd are likely to win 2-0 and get that CL spot.
