NJPW NJPW Best of the Super Jr. 24

The annual Best of the Super Junior Round Robin tournament will kick off on May 17th and conclude on June 3rd. If you've never seen a BOSJ tourney before then you are in for a treat -- NJPW Junior Heavyweights, when given their own spotlight, provide some of the most entertaining wrestling you'll find. Of course, last year, we had the much talked about Will Ospreay vs Ricochet match. Well, Vader better buckle up because it's going down again this year!

    Spoiler:

    A Block

    Dragon Lee
    Hiromu Takahashi
    Jushin Thunder Liger
    Marty Scurll
    Ricochet
    Taichi
    TAKA Michinoku
    Will Ospreay

    B Block

    ACH
    BUSHI
    El Desperado
    KUSHIDA
    Ryusuke Taguchi
    Tiger Mask IV
    Volador Jr.
    Yoshinobu Kanemaru

    ----

That A Block is fucking amazing.

KUSHIDA clear favourite for Block B, I think... but we might see a surprise. BUSHI could win it too. A Block is anyone's... seriously. Who the fuck is winning that monstrosity!?

    Hyped as fuck.

Block A rules, Block B sucks

So random that Marty's in this, but I guess that's the ROH/Rev-Pro links for you. No RPG Vice is a surprise.

sad to see scurrl in the junior's but hopefully this leads to better and bigger things in new Japan. What a bloody block we have, awesome. Ospreay or takahashi for blk A and kushida or taguchi block B.

I don't know, even in Block A we're still getting a bunch of Taichi matches and that's gonna take it down. B has pretty much everyone being at least ok and a couple really good but the high end talent of A is just so high.

I don't see any reason at all for Hiromu not to win this. Nobody should approach him imo. Would like Taguchi to win Block B but KUSHIDA would be okay too.

I mean I like both blocks, but Block A is a going to be a war to see who survives. If I had to put money down on the finals Kushida vs Takahashi would be my pick.

Re: NJPW Best of the Super Jr. 24

With how stacked Block A is, I think Hiromu is losing to someone but I'd like him to run through the tournament too. I can see him having a sole loss to someone who challenges him - probably Ospreay or Ricochet.

But I really dunno about a KUSHIDA vs Hiromu final. KUSHIDA wins and sets up their fourth match this year or Hiromu wins and KUSHIDA's redemption story continues? Idk. It's weird to think about it but I'm sure the journey to the finals will be fun. Taguchi to go all the way this year.

Block A is wonderful. Taichi is the worst guy in the tournament but everyone else in that block could carry him to something watchable and great (except maybe Liger). Block B is meh but that happens when you front load. Hopefully we can get some good things out of ACH, who has been back and forth quality wise as of late.

Congrats to Marty for getting this spot too.

Really excited to see how A Block turns out. Stacked as shit and the first two events should be great. From what I saw of the filler matches - be prepared for a lot of Taguchi Japan vs Ingobernables action. Going for either a Scurll vs KUSHIDA or Dragon Lee vs KUSHIDA final. Possibly BUSHI might be in there too to kind of make the winner look like they can take down the Junior LIJ dudes. Then again, Ospreay might get to the final too. Fuck, I don't know with this A Block.

Hey Shake will all these shows have commentary attached to them? I remember last time I saw the Best of the Super Juniors one show would have it, and the next one wouldn't as if it was a house show. I mean I used it to especially watching Puro and Stardom in general, but I'm just wondering buddy.

Re: NJPW Best of the Super Jr. 24

Not sure. The shows not at Korakuen Hall will not be broadcast live on NJPW World and only the BOSJ matches from those shows will get uploaded - last year they didn't have commentary from what I remember. The Korakuen Hall shows shown live should likely have commentary but I think it depends on if NJPW World will have the rights to the commentary or not as it may be airing on TV instead. We might get commentary for the last two shows too (Nagoya and Edion arena) before the finals.

The finals will have commentary and be broadcast live on NJPW World though, that's a given, I think.

that first day is a great card, with a takahashi vs dragon lee main event and Marty scurll vs will ospreay amazing. that match is the perfect way to introduce him to the JapanESE crowd and that technical style of Marty may boost his popularity even more.

BUSHI, ACH, KUSHIDA, Taguchi and Volador are all strong performers. Kanemaru too if he wants to be. I think the B Block will be ok. Worried they might have KUSHIDA lose every match though.

Re: NJPW Best of the Super Jr. 24

I kind of want a miracle run for Liger with it being his last BOSJ, but his block is so damn hard I don't see how he can pick up that many wins, especially as Hiromu isn't going to lose many matches himself so anyone who finishes above him has to match that record. Marty joining BC also confuses things because you can't really job him out either. God how the fuck do you call that A Block, 4 legit winners in Hiromu, Scurll, Ospreay and Liger (discounting Ricochet because he only just had his Jr title match)

Block B seems fairly straight forward, Kushida wins unless Taguchi gets another crack.

    Should be fun regardless.
