Yeah, Patriot's Day was great. Telling a true story like that on the big screen is no small task, especially when most people probably already have a good sense of what happens, so Peter Berg deserves a lot of credit for making sure this stayed within itself. He handled the subject matter very well and kept me gripped the entire time.

La La Land was fine. Almost didn't want to include it but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would so it's whatever. A lot of it just felt too forced to me.

Haven't seen Captain Fantastic, might check it out one day but it's pretty low on the watch list.
Doctor Strange was my #6 and now I almost wish I had given it my #5 spot because it's really sad that it finished lower than Suicide Squad.
Moana I only just watched after putting my list in, and it's bloody awesome, easily one the best recent Disney movies. Haven't seen anything else animated up there tho.
La La Land was a really great movie, and it this lists of movies we thought were the best of 2016 then I easily would have had it on my list.
Don't care to ever see Hawksaw Ridge or Patriot's Day tho

Shame, Hacksaw Ridge one of my best War films I've ever seen. I put on the level of Saving Private Ryan good, and to me it's Garfield's best performance as a Actor for me. Patriot's Day so well done as a movie, I was so happy to see the killers get theirs, and I got new info I didn't know going on on what happened with the bombings and all.

    Spoiler:

If Tommy Saunders never helps the Police for finding the guys who did the Bombings, they might of never found them because he knew the ins and outs of the guys, as they were looking at Security Tape from around the area.

I might watch Hawksaw Ridge one day, but war movies just usually aren't my thing. Also most war movies are American made and as a Canadian I just don't care about watching movies about American stories, it gets boring seeing a million war stories about how great American's think they are. And to be fair, it wouldn't make a difference if it were Canadian war movies because I've watched some of those too and I'm just not a war movie fan.
And really it's the same thing for Patriot's Day. Plus like the 9/11 movies I saw all that on the news, I'm sure they're great movies, the stories just don't interest me.

Suicide Squad sucked, but I think Deadpool was worse.

Then again, I'm also not a fan of either comics (And think Deadpool is arguably the worst thing ever).

The only Suicide Squad aspect I liked was Will Smith, who I have a soft spot spot for.

Moana I haven't seen yet, but want to. Finding Dory and The Jungle Book were both good.

Hacksaw Ridge looks pretty good, so does Sully.
Time stood still, and it shared with me all that had been, and all that was to come.

Alright folks, final batch of shows before the Fave Five begins...

    8. Lion - 80 Points (PeepShow #1, TCON #3)

    7T. Arrival - 110 Points (Thundercat #2, Whipping Post #3, Gipper #4, HoHo #4)

    7T. Zootopia - 110 Points (CocksDynamite #2, Postman Dave #3, Bazingos #4, Positive Jon #4)

    6. The Nice Guys - 130 Points (BD22 #2, Gipper #2, Creeping Death #4, Whipping Post #4, Jiggy #5)

I thought Lion was a really well made film and I did consider it for my list so it's nice to see it do well here. I believe I've brought it up before but I thought Arrival was terribly overrated and I'm still baffled as to how it managed a Best Picture nomination yet not a Best Actress one for Amy Adams, the only good part of the movie. Haven't seen Zootopia or The Nice Guys yet so I'll have to add them to the list.

Next up, we kick off the Fave Five~!

Lion was a great film. I kinda wanted it to win best picture or at least some type of award and was bummed it didn't. Might see Arrival at some point as it looks interesting enough.

Will definitely be checking out both Lion & Arrival, although Arrival has so much hype I can't see it living up to it, sorta like Intersteller.

Zootopia was great, really appreciated it a lot more on a rewatch. Really smart Disney animation.

Nice Guys was fine, but I preferred Black's previous two films.

3 entries in the fave five this time, not bad. Know one of the other two off the top of my head but struggling with the fifth.

I thought Lion was baseless and worthless.

Arrival was fine. Probably was one of the three I had considered.

EDIT: looks like I should have done a list after all. I forgot about The Nice Guys and that would have been my number one

Arrival was amazing gripping, and it had a great meaning to the story like Zootopia did. I would rewatch Arrival to understand fully what the fuck was going on with the movie. They might be little things that goes way over your heard on the first watch. Arrival felt like more than a movie about Aliens to me.

Zootopia is probs the cure for racism fwiw. Best of the animal movies out in 2016 too.
