    vs.

    Black Sabbath vs. Iron Maiden

Two iconic British heavy metal bands battle this week. Black Sabbath, founded in 1968, is considered by many to be the greatest metal band of all time while Iron Maiden, founded in 1975, is considered to be one of the pioneers of the new wave of British heavy metal. I personally prefer Sabbath but I gotta recognize the accomplishments from Iron Maiden as one of the most successful bands of all time. Discuss away!

I have a preference for Black Sabbath, but I can totally see why people would prefer Maiden. Just Sabbath is more my thing.

I agree on this one. I heard a lot more Black Sabbath than I did Iron Maiden when I was growing up, and that definitely influenced me. Iron Maiden is great, but if I had to listen to one of these two bands for the rest of my life, it would be Black Sabbath and I wouldn't have to really think about it.

    Oh lawd.

I would probably give the advantage to Sabbath given the local bias of growing up in the Midlands and Ozzy being my favourite frontman ever, but they're also the most influential band of the two and were the pioneers of heavy metal. That said, I love Maiden a lot too.

Maiden were one of my parents favourite bands (along with Queen), so for nostalgic purposes they'll always be my preference.

For sure, I'd pick Sabbath easily and I'm not even a huge fan of theirs.

Next topic should be The Rolling Stones "Satisfaction" vs. Devo's cover of "Satisfaction". I know who's side I'd be on there.

We should do Devo versus every band ever. I'd like to hear the argument for every band ever.

Would be a whole lot of "I've got nothing you guys are right Devo IS the best" or there'd be some hell to pay.

    vs.

The Notorious B.I.G./Biggie Smalls vs. Tupac Shakur/2Pac/Pac/Makeveli
We're back after an almost two month absence with one of the most well-known debates in music history. East Coast vs. West Coast. Bad Boy Records vs. Death Row Records. Biggie vs. Tupac. Growing up I also preferred Tupac but the last couple of years I've warmed to Biggie and now I prefer his music more as I feel he had more of an artistic aspect to his music. Who do you prefer between these hip-hop heavyweights?

Maiden over all had a better body of work so Maiden for me.

I love Sabbath too, least when Ozzy or Dio were fronting the band.

    As for Tupac v Biggie-

Gotta go with Tupac. I think he had a bigger impact on the rap genre. Yeah part of that may have been because he had done it longer than Biggie, but Tupac not only had a better voice, he was just lyrically better.

Biggie by far. Biggie had the best flow in the game at the time, and could make hits. He was insanely catchy. Hypnotize, Mo Money Mo Problems, Victory, Juicy and Big Poppa are all untouchable songs.

I like Biggie but there are times when listening to Tupac where I stop and think "this dude is the god of rap" and that lets him get the vote over Biggie

    Re: The Music Debate Club

Biggie is one of the greatest of all time. I've often felt Tupac to be a tad overrated but in fairness, regarding 90s hip hop I've always leaned more towards the east coast stuff like Nas and Wu-Tang So Tupac never really did it for me.
