I'll also give a shout to Rousey Holm.

As far as Douglas Tyson goes it was pretty crazy I remember there was a Saturday Nights Main Event soon after and Tyson was supposed to be a special ref but they got Douglas instead. Then Douglas lost the title the very next fight and was working at Burger King soon after.

Rousey losing would be one of the biggest upsets in sports of the last few years.

It's funny you say that, because if Tyson would of won he would of really KO'ed Savage in that match he had with Hogan if he was the Referee for the Match

I mean it's all semantics but I can see where they'd be coming from.
I don't look at upsets as happening in a series, because over that time anything can happen an has. Individual games/events is where I see it occurring . Using the Red Sox or Cavs as examples, they certainly weren't the underdog going into each series, they were evenly matched. Upsets are when the agreed upon underdog defeats the favorite. The Yanks and Warriors got off to fast starts and the other teams came back. Even when the series was even, both teams that won, completed the comeback.

I would disagree that Cavs-Warriors was considered even going into it. I call it an upset but because of 73 wins. I think most considered the Warriors the heavy favorites.

    Opening Odds Pre-Series was:

    Cavs +180
    Warriors - 210

After each game GS won, the odds got crazy.

Do you Believe in Miracles[U.S Wins the Gold with a win over the Soviet Union and Finland in 1980]

    - The USSR owned Hockey at his time when it came to Olympic Hockey, winning six of the last seven tourneys. The USSR had good amount of Professional players, contrast to to the USA Team that were very inexperienced when it came to their players. Coach Herb Brooks had his US team undefeated in the group stage, but no one thought outside maybe the USA team thought they could win this game. It was tied after the first Period at 2-2, the USSR leading after the Second, and the USA coming back in the 3rd Period to take the lead. Thank Al Michaels for the great call of "Do you believe in Miracles. Yes!" It's easily one of the lines that are still used today not just in Hockey, but in Sports in general. I can't help, but get chills hearing it, and the win over Finland meant alot 4-2 but the win over the Soviet Union when both powers weren't on the greatest terms meant just as much. I mean when you beat a team that beat Professional teams like the Rangers a year before, you gotta go nuts like any team would do after the game. Let's go get some Skates people and do the Flying V together so hype!

Can we really call it an upset? Nova's track record as a 1-2 over the last few years has been suspect at best. I'd think Northwestern knocking off Gonzaga would be more in upset territory myself.

    That said, Go Badgers!

Oh and I changed up the thread title for you HoHo, cheers.

    Good man.

For sure though, MTSU beating Michigan State last year is still pretty fresh. Also think the George Mason win over UCON back in 2006 was huge simply because of how far into the tournament it was. Winning a first round game is one thing but winning the East Regional is something else entirely, not to mention they took out Michigan State and North Carolina on the way.

    Entry 3: The Giant Upset![Super Bowl 42]

-One night I was a Giants fan, as I watched the G-Men end the undefeated streak of the Patriots on February 8th, 2008. The Pats were going for history to win all their Regular Season Games/Playoffs and end with no losses, but the Giants had other plans in mind then just lay down and let them reach that mark in history. With a 12 favorite margin, most people outside maybe the Giants fan base thought they could hang with the Pats, and damn they did due to their defense. Some people forget these two teams faced each other in the Regular Season and The Patriots won 38–35. With 2 minutes left in the 4th Quarter Eli Manning drove 83 yards down the field down 14-10 and led them to a 17-14 over the AFC Champions.

Who can forget one of the greatest catches in SB History when David Tyree made the catch of his life, catching a ball with coverage on him keeping Eli, who used his inner Randall Cunningham to make the throw in the first place. After that Plaxico Burress with 13 seconds left on the clock, made the go ahead TD to put them in the lead and Pats couldn't recover. Still to this day one of the most watched SB over the years with an average of 97.5, and easily one of the most ones in recent memory for people like me.
