Saturday Morning Slam WCs Fave Five Tag Teams (97-17)

Due to the fallout in the RAW live discussion threads about who have been the most over tag teams in the last 2 decades, I decided to start this countdown.

    Rules

    - must have wrestled a professional wrestling match as part of a recognised tag team in the period dating Jan 1st 1997 to present
    - list 1-5 with 1 being your highest rank
    - you must PM me your selections no later than midnight GMT on the 17th of March

That's basically it. Week to get em submitted. Debates, predictions and dork-calling all welcomed and encouraged.
    LUCHA! LUCHA! LUCHA!

Good idea. Cryme Tyme didn't make my list but would've been like 8th or 9th had we stretched it. There are a lot of cool, entertaining tag teams from the past who also were far superior in-ring workers. London and Kendrick, MCMG, JeriShow, Roddy and Aries, fuckin Rock N Sock was better than Cryme Tyme honestly. I can think of more.

Re: WCs Fave Five Tag Teams (97-17)

4 tag teams from late 00's ROH + The Hardys.

Might not even be joking. I don't think there's been any time for tag team wrestling that was as good as ROH in the mid-late 00s. Indyfan named a few teams, without even mentioning some others I'm considering as well. That's why my list will be very ROH heavy.

It's a tough call between the Briscoes and the Hardys for my number 1 spot as they've both been consistently amazing for a huge portion of this time period. Leaning more towards Briscoes because even though the Hardys were my team growing up, the Briscoes just have so much high end quality matches that I think there's not really an argument for not making them number 1. They proved that tag team wrestling in the US (albeit on a small scale) could be treated on a level playing field with the main event title.

Pretty surprised nobody's mentioned The World's Greatest Tag Team yet.
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some 50 miles of concrete highway. We pay for a single fighter with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people... It is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."
    - Dwight D. Eisenhower

I find them good but I found they werent nearly as good as mid 2000 ROH tag teams. In fact I don't think many from WWE can even touch those teams from ROH.

I'm almost certain that my list will be all ROH tag teams.

Briscoes are the best team in the last 20 years. I don't even think it's a debate looking at their list of great matches ..plus their promo skills and big programs.

I'm sure KOW will come up in this as well. Same for Second City Saints. But honestly The Saints best matches were with the Briscoes.

Edit: I'd have to place Benoit and Angle somewhere so it won't be full ROH
