Think today has the tastier matchups. Oddly probably the Europa League matches that hold the most intrigue for me as a whole.

If Spurs can't get past Gent, I'll be amazed.

Should've had a pen to be fair but wow.

    Terrible pen from Falcao too.

If Spurz care. I'm not sure they do. Whether its the manager not giving a crap, or the players, pretty sure its "meh". They were kinda that way in the Champions League in the first half of the season, so I can't imagine they are more motivated for the Europa League. They already threw away the CL, so now they will throw away for the Europa League to try to ensure they qualify for Champions League again. Tottenham logic.

They seem stuck in that English mentality of can't-be-arsed when it comes to the Europa League. Never really understood that.

Only watched the last 20 minutes but that was some game. Wish I'd have watched the whole thing now. Crucial two-goal advantage for City.

I go to do something else, as it doesn't look like anything's happening and then what the fuck City.

Great win by City, but those 3 away goals.... not settled yet.

That's probably it, Shake, but its an odd mentality when you really think about it. Should the players care that the club doesn't get huge money from it? its a trophy, and one of significant prestige. Now there is an extra motivating factor of qualifying for the Champions League next season if you win it. You get the UEFA Super Cup against the Champions League winners. "Its not worth out time" is the same basic reason England didn't bother with the first few World Cups.

Only saw an online clip of it, but that tackle by Deli looks fucking atrocious. I'm sure he'll get defended plenty by the pundits, which is sad.

Why would he be defended? There's nothing to defend.

yeah, if there's anyone defending that Dele tackle they need to be fired.

then again, there were pundits saying Bellerin was soft after coming off due to Alonso's vicious elbow.

That's the kind of punditry that I'm referring to. Everyone is gonna have some biases, but some of the pundits are quite ridiculous to the point I just assume they are trolling for reaction. Saying that a knockout elbow wasn't a foul at all or that Bellerin was at fault for getting knocked out is rather fucking ridiculous. There tends to be a lot of punditry leeway given to younger English players that isn't given to other players, so I won't be surprised to see someone saying "it wasn't THAT bad" or "there has been worse" or "he's just young".

Bye bye Spurs. I wanted them to stay in the competition at least till the semis so they could play more games. They flopped in the UCL and Europa League. I reckon Man Utd will win the Europa League.
