Yuki Ishikawa!!! Now obviously he is much older now but still. I'm pumped for this show. It's gonna be amazing. Perhaps better than Ambition from last year

Whoever hits the hardest. Wither WALTER, Thatcher or Hideki if he does make it over. Thatcher and Hideki have both briefly trained with Ishikawa in the past so that would make it good stuff and Thatcher would be my best bet. Maybe if WWE could lend Oney over for that tournament too we'd be really kicking.

Thatcher is usually the star of the Ambition shows so it could be him but I can also see them giving him to WALTER to have one of those special fights like he had with Riddle w/ Thatcher being in the actual tourney.

AMBITION is always more fun than outstanding, but that should still be a really cool match. Hopefully Ishikawa starts getting out of Canada more.

    16 Carat line up:

    WALTER
    Timothy Thatcher
    Ilja Dragunov
    Shigehiro Irie
    Daisuke Sekimoto
    David Starr
    Fenix
    Pentagon Jr
    Chris Brooks
    Jurn Simmons
    Lucky Kid
    Mark Davis
    Rey Horus
    Avalanche
    The returning Axel Dieter Jr.
    And TBA #16

Even if they announce Tama Tonga as #16 that is a stacked line up for Carat that should provide great matches with who is likely to go deep in the tournament (Thatcher or Starr the likely winners, could well be the weekend Starr beats Walter).

Calling it right now: Thatcher vs Starr final with Thatcher getting the win.

(Yes that means Starr will beat Walter)

This is my thinking too because if Starr was to beat Walter on this weekend, then you'd make that the finals match, not a first round match. I feel like wXw think they need to pull the trigger on Starr finally winning with Walter now in NXT UK and once he becomes champion there he becomes even tougher to defeat in another promotion because of politics.

They are the only two I can see winning it. Ilja has a chance but he was in the title picture for all of 2018 so there's no need for him to win.

Basically, yeah. Starr really should beat Walter by this point and this is the high point of the wXw calendar year. It's the biggest place to do it and it's just before Walter vs Dunne can be made, which is the clear direction.

Re: Westside Xtreme Wrestling General Discussion Thread

    Well, we were totally wrong.

I've just finished off watching the 3 days of the tournament and it wasn't what I was expecting. Day 1 in particular was WTF with favourites Thatcher and Starr crashing out, Starr losing to WALTER is no surprise but this felt like the perfect weekend to blow that off but Lucky Kid rolling up Thatcher was the biggest shock of the year so far. After that the tournament took shape into a home grown quartet where WALTER, Ilja Dragunov, Avalanche and Lucky Kid all made the semi finals. Really the weekend was all about crowning the next generation with Lucky Kid defeating WALTER to win the tournament and Bobby Gunns beating Andy for the Unified World title, although that title match wasn't so good. All of Lucky Kid's matches were great though, what an underdog.

Aussie Open/Schadenfraude are seemingly in wXw for good now they've won the tag titles. They have a 6 man tag with the Lucha Bros and Rey Horus that is bat shit insane on Night 3.

Ishikawa/Irie Vs Ringkampf from inner circle was really fucking good, Irie has been fantastic since coming to Europe. I still have ambition to watch but apparently Thatcher/Ishikawa ruled.

Thatcher appears to be done with Ringkampf. He has new music and didn't come to the ring with his scarf.

Re: Westside Xtreme Wrestling General Discussion Thread

Ishikawa vs Thatcher was my favourite match of the whole weekend but I didn't watch a ton of the 16 Carat Gold and the ones I did watch didn't exactly blow me away. Because it's Thatcher, you may like the match, Ed but considering you're not a fan of Hideki Suzuki's style (closest thing I would compare Ishikawa's style to), the match may go over your head.

Dragunov vs Sekimoto is a contender for most dissapoting match of the year. Boy was it dull.

Glad Lucky Kid won though. One thing I like about wXw is that they've put over their homegrown guys in the tournament full of outsiders where it'd be easy to go for the hot commodity pick.

I actually signed up for WXW to watch Thatch/Ishikawa & it was worth every penny. Amazing match, up there in MOTY for me. Can't wait to get into the tournament itself.
