So awesome to see. Seriously the only thing left I want to see is The Midnight Express added.

Ricky Steamboat is inducting Rick Rude.

I do this every year, but I just assumed Rude was already in the HoF. That's sweet news and the Dragon giving his induction speech is cool too.

Re: WWE Hall of Fame 2017 - Rick Rude is Number 6

Rude was one my favorite guys in Wrestling when I first started watching. Truly underrated as a Wrestler and as a talker in the industry so happy to see this happen. The Sexiest Man Alive is now apart of the Hall of Fame everyone go watch Rude/Steamboat from Superbrawl in 1992 and any of his matches with Sting during his run in WCW.

^If the Midnight Express go in, which version goes in? Lane/Eaton with Cornette?

Not that I dislike the Superbrawl II match but you'd really recommend that instead of the better one at Beach Blast '92? Also, I don't recall anyone ever underrating Rude as either a wrestler or a talker. There's pretty much nothing but glowing praise for the guy.

Lane/Eaton w.Cornette for me. al though Condrey was great, too.

The amount of members might really screw them in getting in now that I think about it.

Yeah I forgot the Beach Blast one. Hopefully Owen Hart gets in one of these days, and I can finally be happy with this Hall of Fame. Owen and Rude were in my top 5 from the 90's for me, and if Owen gets in it will be great similar to a fan who was watching Wrestling and they had Bruno and Backlund go in the same year.

Yes, I've never once heard him being underrated.

Like Mr. Perfect, and other Minnesota based wrestlers he scored one of those sweet retirement deals from Lloyd's of London. Which did cut his career way short. (Not saying he didn't have injuries, always heard he had a serious back injury. Sting injured him in Japan.)

Those guys were pretty damn smart with that insurance policy haha.

Not as smart as Lloyd's is to write them in the first place though. For every one person that cashes in they're getting premiums from hundreds who never will.

Nattie Neidhart posted this pic of her Mom and Dad hanging out with Rude this has to be what 89 or 90 from his look. Seeing old Photos like this makes me sad knowing Rude is no longer with us.

    Remember who you're talking to.

Probably the most overdue so far, honestly. Rude should already be in there.

True, but they won't insure wrestlers anymore due to wrestlers in a lot of cases just scamming LLoyds.

And wasn't there someone who evaluated Bret Hart that said he was faking post concussion symptoms?

Re: WWE Hall of Fame 2017 - Rick Rude is Number 6

I'm shocked people thought he was in already given how every year there's always a chorus of "I wonder if this is Rude's year" followed by a long, annoying verse of "Why didn't Rude get picked this year", because he's one of those guys that you know deserves to be in there but can also understand why he didn't get in earlier as they don't like having more than one dead inductee each year so he's just had to kind of wait his turn.

So, it's about damn time but I get why it took so long.

This years class is shaping up quite nicely. We've got the celebrity inductee and the Warrior award winner yet as well right? I assume one other wrestler as well because surely they aren't gonna end the announcement's on either of the others?

Great news. One of my fave heels. Long overdue and well deserved. Rick Rude's feud with Jake Roberts, Warrior and Steamboat were awesome. Cool to see Steamboat inducting him. Now let's hope Vader or Rick Martel are next.

About bloody time for Rick Rude, that's for sure. I would have loved to see Bobby Heenan induct him too, i just assume The Brain isn't in such a good position health wise, but Steamboat is an ok choice I guess.

Regarding The Warrior award, whilst we'd all love it to be for Kris Travis, that is highly unlikely to happen, have there been any rumblings for this years winner?

Would love for Owen to get in, but I doubt his wife would allow it.

Glad Rick Rude is getting inducted. Unlike some of these other inductions this year, I'm fully behind this one. While he wasn't always this top notch worker many likes to pretend he was, when he was on, he was fantastic.

As for who would be inducted if the Midnight Express is ever inducted, to me, there isn't any question. It would obviously be Jim Cornette, Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane, and Dennis Condrey. The fact that Cornette is one of the necessary parts of that induction may be why hey haven't been inducted yet.

First reaction to hearing Rude getting in: "About time".

Seriously, I love me some Rude. He's pretty much the guy who carried Warrior to superstardom. We at least now have the Robbinsdale Duo in.

Honestly though, The Midnight Express might never get in, thanks in part to Cornette's hilarious propensity to bury everybody and rightly so.

Although they did have a great series of matches (Both PPV and house shows), I'd argue Warrior was already super over by time the feud began.

At this point, I can't think of anyone that is an absolute lock to not get into the HOF due to issues. The fact that the WWE HOF has Bret, Bruno, Warrior, Zbyszko, Graham, and others is just an insane notion. Although I certainly wouldn't expect it any time soon, I could even see CM Punk and shockingly Benoit sneaked in there at some point.
