Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

As usual, Jaywhy and Gambit, thanks so much for the feedback.

Jaywhy, regarding that Rhino/RVD table spot, Cyrus set up the table outside of the ring, and Rhino was attempting his Piledriver off of the apron. When RVD reversed into a Back Drop, he sent Rhino off of the apron and through the table. Hope that makes sense.

Anyway, preview, and show to probably come early next week.

    ECW Hardcore TV Preview

    19-08-2000

Hardcore TV comes live from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida tonight and the extreme main event we have in store is likely to be as hot as the Florida summer night itself. The main event will feature the grizzly CW Anderson really looking to make a name for himself, against the man some call the heart and soul of ECW, Tommy Dreamer. This isn’t just the standard future main event wrestler trying to jump the queue by defeating a veteran; this one has become a lot more heated than that. A little over two weeks ago when Extreme Championship Wrestling was in Houston, Texas, Anderson decided to make a name for himself by completing some of the most apprehensible actions that have ever occurred in the world of wrestling. CW interfered in a match female wrestler Jazz was having with a local talent, and nearly decapitated Jazz with a ferocious Clothesline. As the fans voiced their severe displeasure for Anderson’s disgusting act, he laughed it off before sending Jazz crashing through a table with the patented Anderson Spinebuster. Before anymore damage could be done, Tommy Dreamer stormed the ring and chased Anderson to the back, and throughout the course of the past two weeks he’s made his thoughts on CW clear. Tommy challenged Anderson to a match which was supposed to take place last night at ECW on TNN, but tempers boiled over long before the match could begin. In one of the most fascinating yet unexpected beginnings to a show in ECW history, the show opened with Joey Styles yelling at the top of his lungs as Dreamer and Anderson decided to brawl before their match, and better yet the show, even started. Dreamer rode his emotional wave to get the upper hand and looked set to do some serious damage until Team Me ran out to save CW Anderson. Danny Doring and Roadkill were quick to come to Dreamer’s aid, evening the odds, however the match was called off. Tonight we have been promised that this fiery match will go ahead as the main event, and if there are any issues beforehand both men will be suspended. Last night’s brawl whet the appetite but tonight we’ll see the real deal.

Fresh off adding Elektra to their group and having an impressive victory Bilvis Wesley and Tom Marquez last week, Hot Commodity will look to continue their new found momentum heading into the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament. Confederate Currency, Chris Hamrick will be in singles action against the number one contender to the ECW Championship Jerry Lynn. Hamrick will look to gain what would be the biggest win in his career here tonight, whilst Lynn will look to just continue ticking all of the boxes ahead of his long awaited title shot. Jerry Lynn hasn’t looked like losing a one on one match in a long time here in ECW and for things to change Hamrick will have to put up a herculean effort.

Chris Hamrick won’t be the only member of Hot Commodity in action as the tag team duo of EZ Money and Julio Dinero also look set to compete tonight. A Three Way Dance has been announced which will feature them against the teams of Chris Chetti and Nova, as well as the young team of Christian York and Joey Matthews. Nobody’s really sure which way this one will go, however each team will be looking for one more important win heading into the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament. Whoever wins this match may even ride their wave of confidence and go on to become the ECW Tag Team Champions, anything can happen. One thing’s for sure, with these six men all around the ring and the possibility of Elektra on the outside, this match is a must see.

    Confirmed Matches:

    CW Anderson vs. Tommy Dreamer

Chris Hamrick w/Hot Commodity vs. Jerry Lynn

    Three Way Dance Match;

Chris Chetti and Nova vs. Christian York and Joey Matthews vs. Hot Commodity w/Chris Hamrick and Elektra

Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

Hey man, I was gonna wait until you caught up to where I've read, but then I couldn't remember so I figure, ahh well.

So, I gotta bring this up first thing, and I think you've explained this to me before (possibly on this show) but I really feel like the overuse of bold really detracts from your shows. It really messes with the idea: when everything is special, nothing is. I get that a lot of crazy shit is happening (which I love), but mixing it up with italics even, or just leaving some normal, would give more oomph when really crazy shit happens. You're giving the same effect to a suplex that you are to a chair shot. I'm drawn to reading the bold instead of all the other stuff.

With that being said, you used this to perfect effect when you were teasing the Van Dam win. Even knowing what happens; I was so drawn to that moment and I was hyped just sitting here. I was in the moment. I think you over-used it after, but still, I loved this moment so very much.

Speaking of Van Dam, his promo was my favourite part of the show. The intensity you managed to convey with the shorter sentences and all that was really well done. I loved the big fucking deal and the whole fucking show at the end.

I did notice one thing about this show in particular though, it felt all go. There was nothing to slow the show down and just let the viewer breathe for a moment. This was probably intentional, but I'm sitting here a bit exhausted (or it's cause I'm fat) before it was high on high on high. Which, while awesome, left me longing for a pause or slowing down the pace. I think you did this well with the Cyrus promo, but I think you needed one more similar segment. Again, I think this was intentional and not watching any of the original ECW, was probably very similar, but not sure.

One more thing, I love the Unholy Alliance. If they don't win the tag team tournament, I'm gonna be very disappointed.

Just as good as I remember, mate, so keep up the good work; even if I was critical :>.

Thanks Gards for the feedback, much appreciated. You need to start booking again

My writing style has changed with what I'm currently up to, but I'm not going to rewrite what I've already completed, so unfortunately the bold will be around for awhile. I agree wholeheartedly with your feedback though, I'm just lazy to reedit my work.

ECW occasionally had a full throttle show like this. Thanks for your comments again man.

    And onto the next one…

    ECW Hardcore TV

    August 19th, 2000

    Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

The show opens up in a very un ECW type fashion, as we cut to a scene which shows a clean, white walled office. On the office wall there’s a gold plaque which reads “TNN”. As the camera lowers we see that we are inside an office that’s mainly taken up by a plain coloured desk.’

We currently see the back of a black, bulky, comfortable looking computer chair, until the chair spins around to reveal a pompous looking Cyrus staring into the camera. At the bottom right hand side of the screen there’s a block of text which lets us know that this was actually recorded on August 26th. Cyrus smugly neatens up some seemingly important papers that are stacked on his desk before speaking…

Cyrus: I’ve just finished looking over the booking and I realised that The Network is in Manhattan next week.

The leader of The Network pauses, raising his eyebrows as a slight smirk comes across his face.

Cyrus: The Network loves Manhattan because it’s going to be the host of a history making night when the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament takes place. The Network will make history when our team of Rhino and the ECW Champion Justin Credible bring the ECW Tag Team Titles home to The Network. Then not only will we be in possession of the tag titles, but we’ll also be in possession of the ECW Championship!

Cyrus cockiness stops now as he looks dead serious.

Cyrus: Manhattan will be the place where Justin Credible formally joins The Network… Or he becomes an enemy of The Network.

Cyrus dramatically lets his words sink in, dead panning the camera.

Cyrus: If Justin Credible makes the dumbest decision of his life and doesn’t join The Network, we’ll show the entire world that NOBODY stands up to us!

Cyrus continues to dead pan the camera to further get his point across. We then cut away…

We then strangely for an ECW show, head backstage where ‘The Voice Of ECW’ Joey Styles is standing. Styles looks impeccable as ever in a professional looking suit, however unlike his usual demeanour, Styles shows a blank expression. To the outside eye he looks almost bored with what he’s about to say.

Joey Styles: Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, welcome to ECW Hardcore TV, We’ve got a stacked show set for everybody tonight but before we can get there, I’ve been told I have to make this announcement. You may remember back on July twenty eight at ECW on TNN we had the pleasure of being joined by musician extraordinaire Billy Corgan. Lou E. Dangerously decided to interrupt an interview I was conducting with Corgan and began running down his accomplishments, only for Corgan to epically SMASH his guitar over Lou E’s head.

Despite showing no enthusiasm throughout his monologue so far, Joey fails at stifling a smile at his last sentence.

Joey Styles: With the permission of The Network, Lou E. has issued a challenge to Billy Corgan. Lou E. is begging Billy Corgan to return to Extreme Championship Wrestling during our August twenty fifth and twenty sixth weekend in Manhattan!

    Styles pauses, rolling his eyes.

Joey Styles: I’m not sure that’s the best way to waste our only avenue of air time. As the great Tony Schiavone once alluded to, I’m not sure that’s going to put butts in seats.

Styles then shakes his head and storms off of screenshot, seemingly not to happy with the idea of Lou E. Dangerously and Billy Corgan having another segment together on ECW Television…

The camera remains rolling for a few seconds, murmurs being heard from behind the camera. It almost seems as if Styles was supposed to be talking a little longer, until from behind the camera we hear a…

    “CUT TO COMMERCIAL”

This seems to be coming from a confused producer… and five seconds later we do cut to our first unexpected, early commercial break.

    -COMMERCIAL BREAK-

We return from the rather abrupt commercial break to hear “Intergalactic” by The Beastie Boyz as the fan favourite team of Chris Chetti and Nova make their way to the ring for action. The two get a respectful pop from the usually ruthless ECW fans, as they slap hands with the audience members who are lucky enough to be in the front row. Next up “Electric Molecular” by Chemlab plays and the team who debuted last month Christian York and Joey Matthews bounce through the curtain. Their ovation is slightly less than the first team but you wouldn’t know it by looking at them, as the young duo do all they can to get the fans pumped. Once in the ring the ovation gets louder as the two teams in the ring share handshakes. “For The Love Of Money/Down On Me Remix” by Ojay’s and Jackyl completely changes the mood in the arena as the fans boo the arrival of EZ Money and Julio Dinero. The two make money gestures with their hands whilst insulting the audience, meanwhile Chris Hamrick walks a little behind them, arm around their new valet, Elektra. Elektra gets a few whistles from the fans but it’s mainly a negative reaction for Hot Commodity. Hamrick stays off the apron and begins stretching, yelling “I’M TAKIN’ OUT JERRY LYNN TONIGHT”, whilst his stable mates head inside the ring.

    Match One
    Three Way Dance
Chris Chetti and Nova vs. Christian York and Joey Matthews vs. Hot Commodity w/Chris Hamrick and Elektra

The match for the first several minutes mainly consisted of the teams of Chetti/Nova and York/Matthews going at it, as Hot Commodity were more than happy to just stand on the apron and watch. Legally one of the members of Hot Commodity was supposed to be in the ring, but they did all they could to avoid contact. It allows the four faces to really put on a SPOTFEST which draws numerous chants of “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”.

Only a few minutes into the contest and Christian York and Nova already look like they’ve been through hell. EZ Money, who should technically be in the ring, makes fun of them from the apron, before they walk over… AND FLIP EZ MONEY OVER THE TOP ROPE AND INTO THE RING!

In comical fashion EZ Money crawls across the ring and slaps Chris Chetti on the chest, which the referee accepts as a tag. Much to the dismay of the fans, Money quickly rolls out of the ring, as Chetti steps in, and he and Nova begin staring down York. Christian is definitely in a bit of trouble but before Joey Matthews can make the save… EZ MONEY AND JULIO DINERO PULL HIM OFF THE APRON AND BEGIN BEATING HIM ON THE OUTSIDE!

Inside the ring Chetti and Nova uncomfortably shrug at York, before beginning to beat him down. York tries to put up a fight but the young upstart is no match for the team, AND EVENTUALLY CHETTI NAILS HIM WITH A SCISSORS KICK!

Both men then head to the top rope… BEFORE COMING OFF WITH THE TIDAL WAVE! Chetti keeps look out for any interference whilst NOVA HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!

Elimination #1 Christian York and Joey Matthews

Now that the first team is eliminated the match turns to a standard tag team match, and with only one set of fan favourites in the ring, Chetti and Nova have all the crowd support. Hot Commodity do quite well for themselves though, immediately sliding into the ring after the elimination, throwing Chetti to the outside and beating down Nova. This allows them to keep Nova in the ring for a majority of the match, slowly tearing away at his resilience.

Julio Dinero decides it’s time to finish Nova off, as he continues to make money gestures with his hands to the fans in attendance. Once Nova gets back up Dinero GOES FOR THE JALAPENO POPPER… BUT NOVA DUCKS AND LANDS A REVERSE DDT!

Both men remain down for a moment or two… UNTIL EZ MONEY CHARGES INTO THE RING… BUT HE GETS TAKEN BACK OUT WITH A CLOTHESLINE OVER THE TOP ROPE BY CHRIS CHETTI!

Chetti now ignores the referee’s pleas and helps Nova to his feet, before pointing to the top rope, signalling they can win the match if they land one more Tidal Wave. The fans cheer them on as they begin climbing the ropes, as on the other side of the ring… ELEKTRA JUMPS ONTO THE APRON!

Elektra seems to be distracting the referee with her feminine wit as CHRIS HAMRICK LEAPS ONTO THE APRON… FIRST PUSHING NOVA OFF THE TOP ROPE… AND THEN PUSHING CHETTI OFF THE TOP ROPE… AND CRASHING CHEST FIRST INTO THE CROWD BARRICADE!

Gasps from the audience can be heard throughout the arena as Chetti is down on the outside, and a worn down Nova is down on the inside. Hamrick and Elektra both get off the apron just as EZ Money gets back into his teams corner. A dizzy Dinero crawls over and tags in EZ Money, who laughs at the pissed off audience, before yelling “THIS IS WHY WE’RE MONEY”!

EZ remains on the ring apron, waiting for Nova to get up and when he does… EZ LANDS A SPRINGBOARD CLOTHESLINE TAKING NOVA’S HEAD OFF!!!

    EZ HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!

Elimination #2 Chris Chetti and Nova

    Winners – Hot Commodity @ 5:59

The fans almost seem a little shocked that this upset has occurred, which allows the entire foursome of Hot Commodity to celebrate initially without too much heat.

As their over the top celebration continues the heat begins to really kick in, as Elektra all of a sudden begins looking down disdainfully at Nova.

Elektra gets the attention of the rest of her crew and says “let’s prove a point”.

The trio of males don’t need any further instructions… AS THEY ALL BEGIN STOMPING THE LIFE OUT OF NOVA!

The fans begin getting feral with anger as Nova can’t defend himself and Chetti is still down in tremendous pain on the outside…

EZ Money and Chris Hamrick now hold up the helpless Nova…

As Julio Dinero looks ready to try the Jalapeno Popper again…

Much to the delight of the sadistic Elektra…

UNTIL THE FANS MARK THE FUCK OUT AS JERRY LYNN SPRINTS DOWN THE RAMP!

Jerry Lynn slides into the ring… and Elektra quickly scurries out.

Lynn begins teeing off on all members of Hot Commodity, dropping Hamrick and Dinero with Clotheslines.

EZ MONEY CHARGES AT LYNN… BUT LYNN SIDESTEPS HIM AND THROWS HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE!

Hamrick then gets dropped with another Clothesline, before Lynn picks up Dinero… AND DROPS HIM WITH THE CRADLE PILEDRIVER!

Hamrick quickly rolls out of the ring as the fans go ape shit for the saviour, who now looks down and checks on Nova…

    “JERRY LYNN”

    “JERRY LYNN”

    “JERRY LYNN”

The chants echo throughout the arena… WHEN THE REFEREE ORDERS CHRIS HAMRICK TO GET BACK INSIDE THE RING AS HIS MATCH WITH LYNN WILL HAPPEN RIGHT NOW!

    Match Two
Chris Hamrick w/Hot Commodity vs. Jerry Lynn

Hamrick doesn’t seem entirely thrilled with the idea of getting inside the ring with the fired up number one contender for the ECW Championship, but he doesn’t really have much of a choice. Hamrick talks strategy with his buddies and EZ Money walks around the ring, now standing behind Jerry Lynn. Hamrick and EZ Money step onto the ring apron at the same time, trying to work out who will distract Lynn and who will get in the first shot. The two are moving rather slow… WHEN LYNN ERUPTS AND CHARGES AT MONEY… DROPPING HIM OFF THE APRON WITH A RIGHT HAND!

Sensing his opportunity… HAMRICK SPRINTS IN THE RING AND AT LYNN… STRAIGHT INTO A SPINNING HEEL KICK FROM THE QUICK LYNN!

Lynn immediately gets up and raises his hands above his head, pandering to the fans that are all aboard the Jerry Lynn train, as “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out yet again. Lynn continues to dominate Hamrick for the opening minutes, before heading up to the top rope. Once there, he waits for Hamrick to get up… AND LEAPS OFF LANDING A PERFECT DIVING CROSSBODY… LYNN STAYS ON HIM FOR THE COVER…1…2…3!

    NO!

A RECOVERED JULIO DINERO PUTS HAMRICK’S FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE!

“FUCK YOU”, “FUCK YOU”, “FUCK YOU” chants are directed at Dinero who snarls at the audience. Meanwhile Lynn gets up and begins having a word with Dinero and the rest of the Hot Commodity crew, which ALLOWS HAMRICK TO COME FROM BEHIND AND LAND A LOW BLOW!

This break allows Hamrick to beat down Lynn for a solid minute or two, really applying some pressure before dropping him with a simple Scoop Slam. The man now known as ‘Confederate Currency’ Chris then heads to the top rope… AND COMES OFF LANDING THE CONFEDERATE MUNCH ACROSS THE CHEST OF JERRY LYNN! HAMRICK MAKES THE COVER…1…2…LYNN KICKS OUT!

Hamrick continues to beat on the number one contender, before allowing him to get half to a vertical base… AND HAMRICK LOOKS TO SPRINGBOARD OFF THE ROPES… BUT LYNN SEES IT COMING AND LANDS A DROP KICK TO HAMRICK’S ASS… WHICH CAUSES HIM TO BACK FLIP OVER THE TOP ROPE AND LAND BACK FIRST ON THE CONCRETE OUTSIDE THE RING!

“ECDUBBYA”. “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out once again for what has to be spot of the night so far. ‘The New F’n Show’ takes a few moments to regain his composure before heading outside the ring to get Hamrick… BUT HE’S INTERCEPTED BY ELEKTRA!

Elektra begins showing off some of her assets to Lynn, who raises his eyebrows, seemingly enjoying himself… WHEN HE GETS PUMMELED FROM BEHIND BY EZ MONEY AND JULIO DINERO!

Elektra immediately scurries over to Hamrick who’s quite clearly favouring his back, and tries to help him back up. As this is happening Money and Dinero continue to be like two pit bulls, stomping all over Lynn, with the crowd giving them the most heat they’ve received in their careers.

The crowd’s mood begins to change into cheers though… as CHRISTIAN YORK AND JOEY MATTHEWS SPRINT TO WHERE THE ACTIONS TAKING PLACE AND BEGINS BEATING THE HOLY HELL OUT OF EZ MONEY AND JULIO DINERO!

As the young duo beat the snot out of the two, forcing them away from the ring and to the backstage area, the drama continues at ringside. Whilst Lynn isn’t being beaten on anyway, he’s still down as Elektra knows this and urges Hamrick up. A sore Hamrick slowly gets up and picks up Lynn, rolling him inside the ring. Hamrick lazily just lies on Lynn for the cover…1…2…LYNN SHOOTS A SHOULDER UP!

Hamrick looks frustrated before he clutches at his back one last time. He now brings Lynn to his feet, before putting him in a Front Face lock… AND TURNING IT INTO A VERTICAL SUPLEX… BUT LYNN KICKS HIS LEGS UP IN THE AIR, WIGGLING AROUND… AND IS ABLE TO REVERSE INTO A TORNADO DDT!

The fans mark the fuck out now, as Lynn seems to have gotten his second wind. He immediately picks up Hamrick AND PUTS HIM IN POSITION FOR THE CRADLE PILEDRIVER… BEFORE SHAKING HIS HEAD AND DROPPING HAMRICK BACK DOWN!

Everybody’s a little confused including Elektra, until Lynn signals that the ECW Championship will be around his waist and dead pans the camera yelling “THAT TITLE’S COMIN’ WHERE IT BELONGS, CREDIBLE”!

Lynn then brings a battered Hamrick back up… AND LANDS THE THAT'S INCREDIBLE! JERRY LYNN USES THE ECW CHAMPION’S FINISHING MOVE BEFORE HOOKING THE LEG…1…2…3!

    Winner – Jerry Lynn @ 6:10

An exhausted yet satisfied Jerry Lynn gets his hand raised by the referee whilst is showered in cheers from the ECW faithful.

Meanwhile Elektra does her best to help the incapacitated Hamrick to the back.

After enjoying the victory for a minute or so, Lynn’s eyes are back on the prize as the smile disappears, the focus comes back in the eyes, and Lynn once again signals for the ECW Championship to be around his waist…

This is the last vision we see before we cut to…

    -COMMERCIAL BREAK-

We return to see a video replay of Lou E. Dangerously’s last episode of The Danger Zone which took place last night at ECW on TNN. After gaining his usual cheap heat from the ECW fans, Lou E. was proud to introduce his guest, the leader of The Network Cyrus. Cyrus wasted little to no time on pleasantries with Dangerously and immediately called out the ECW Champion Justin Credible. Justin Credible just one week earlier had a confrontation with Steve Corino from The Network and he didn’t seem all that pleased to be called out by Cyrus. Cyrus actually apologised admitting he made a mistake and he never should have sent Corino out to relay his message. Cyrus explained how The Network wants the ECW Championship which is why they have invited him to join them. Credible seemed a little confused so Cyrus ran through Jerry Lynn, Kid Kash and Tajiri explaining how each one of these challengers to his title had setbacks because The Network were tampering with things behind the scenes. The audience hated the shocking regulation as Credible seemed to be growing fonder of the idea of joining The Network, yet before he could shake hands with Cyrus he was attacked with a right hand by his challenger of the night, Kid Kash.

    ***

Once the video’s complete we head to an undisclosed area to find CW Anderson in his wrestling gear, pacing back and forth. The vision of CW gets an EPIC amount of heat from the ECW fans, but Anderson ignores it, stopping and stroking his rugged beard.

CW Anderson: My opponent tonight Tommy Dreamer likes to call himself the Innovator of Violence. I’ve sat back and watched for the last five year and every single time those words have spewed from Dreamer’s mouth, I’ve disagreed.

CW pauses, shaking his head in disgust.

CW Anderson: The only issue is that over the last five years I haven’t been here… but I’m here now!

Anderson looks into the camera with a certain fire in his eye.

CW Anderson: And now that I’m here, I can finally do something that has been five, long years in the making. I’ve now got the chance to inform the world that every time Tommy Dreamer calls himself the Innovator of Violence, he’s a liar!

CW lets his words sink in, although a majority of fans certainly wouldn’t agree with him.

CW Anderson: MY name, MY family, The Anderson’s were originating violence when Tommy was DREAMING of lacin’ up a pair of wrestlin’ boots for the first time.

Anderson seems to be getting more and more passionate about his words.

CW Anderson: You’re lucky my relatives don’t rent a camera man…

    CW’s intense now…

    CW Anderson: HUNT YOU DOWN…

CW Anderson: TIE YOUR ARM TO A CAR…

CW Anderson: AND BREAK IT IN HALF!

CW Anderson continues to breathe heavily, saliva at the corners of his mouth, absolutely furious as Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger, collectively known as Team Me stroll into screenshot. Swinger immediately goes to Anderson and begins giving him a massage trying to get him to calm down, whilst Diamond has a cocky smirk on his face as per usual.

Simon Diamond: Regardless of what happens tonight, we’re gonna’ make a statement when ECW returns to the ECW arena…

Diamond nods to himself, before looking around at the crew.

Simon Diamond: We are gonna’ continue to show the world how Diamond, Swinger and an Anderson SOLVE A PROBLEM!

Diamond smirks at his words again as Swinger lets out a laugh, and Anderson seems to have calmed himself down a little. The three then walk out of screen shot possibly discussing strategy for later on tonight…

Straight after the interview we cut to ringside and “Deepest Bluest” by LL Cool J hits and fresh after his speech CW Anderson heads out from the back. Despite just being with them, Team Me remains in the back, as Anderson cops an ABSOLUTE BARRAGE of heat from the fans who are yet to forgive him for the woman bashing. Anderson ignores the fans though looking in the zone, as he steps into the ring and just calmly bounces off the ropes, waiting for his opponent. He doesn’t have to wait too long as “Man In The Box” by Alice In Chains plays to the LOUDEST pop of the night as Tommy Dreamer comes into sight. Dreamer looks focused as hell as the veteran slowly makes his way towards ringside, not even bothering to pander to the fans. Tommy looks as if he’s reliving Anderson’s attack on Jazz and getting even angrier as he steps through the ropes.

    Match Three
    CW Anderson vs. Tommy Dreamer

Despite the hatred both men seem to have for each other, the referee calls for the bell and neither man immediately goes in for the kill. Both men circle each other as the crowd anticipate the violence they are about to witness, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN CW ANDERSON OFFERS A HANDSHAKE TO TOMMY DREAMER!

The fans piss all over the gesture as Anderson looks at them annoyed, stating “REAL WRESTLERS SHOW RESPECT”! The audience continues to boo as Dreamer looks over the crowd pondering his next move, UNTIL HE ACTUALLY ACCEPTS THE HANDSHAKE!

Anderson nods and laughs seemingly happy with how this exchange has gone, however Dreamer doesn’t let go of his grip on CW’s hand. Dreamer is no smiles, all business as he yells at Anderson, “I’M NOT HERE TO WRESTLE, I’M HERE TO FIGHT”! Before Anderson can react Dreamer then brings Anderson forward, STRAIGHT INTO A SHORT ARMED CLOTHESLINE!

With CW falling to the canvas, Dreamer shows incredible intensity immediately dropping to his knees, and hammering away with right hands to the forehead of Anderson. The ECW faithful love it as “TOMMY”, “TOMMY”, “TOMMY” chants echo throughout the arena, until finally Anderson is able to squirm his way out from underneath ‘The Innovator of Violence”. Dreamer is back up to his feet straight away and his opponent only takes a split second longer… BEFORE TOMMY CHARGES AT CW AND CLOTHESLINES HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!

The announcers are quick to harp on the fact that Anderson knew this was coming, hence why he was trying to get inside Dreamer’s head early. Either way he has no answer as he lays stunned on the floor and Dreamer quickly steps through the ropes and stands on the ring apron. Dreamer waits for Anderson to get to his feet and when he does, DREAMER LEAPS OFF THE APRON, DROPPNG ANDERSON WITH A DOUBLE AXE HANDLE SMASH ON THE TOP OF HIS HEAD!

Whilst CDubbs crumbles to the floor, Dreamer remains on his feet, before stomping on Anderson a few times to ensure he’s down. The ECW veteran then walks towards the crowd and asks “WHO’S GOT SOMETHIN’ FOR ME”? Immediately a variety of different weapons are offered from members of the audience, and Dreamer CHOOSES THE LEAD PIPE FROM ONE OF THE FAN MEMBERS!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants are all over the arena again, as Tommy looks set to be innovative with the lead pipe. Before he can muster anything overly crazy though, Anderson’s eyes open wide when he sees the lead pipe and he quickly scurries up and rolls himself back inside the ring. CW cleverly gets up rather quickly and when Dreamer rolls in, Anderson begins stomping all over Dreamer, keeping him down on the canvas.

This shock attack causes Dreamer to drop the lead pipe, as Anderson continues to hammer away. Starting to become a little confident, CW brings Tommy back up to his feet, but Dreamer immediately shrugs Anderson off and locks in a Side Headlock. Not the most glamorous move in the world but Dreamer has the lock synched in perfectly, controlling all of Anderson’s movements from this position. It’s quite clear early on that Anderson doesn’t want this match to become very ECW like, so Dreamer slowly begins making his way towards the lead pipe, all the while keeping CW in the Side Headlock.

A few times it looks as if Anderson’s going to counter into a Back Suplex, but he’s unable to get Dreamer up and over. After a fair struggle Dreamer PICKS UP THE LEAD PIPE… BUT ANDERSON QUICKLY SHRUGS HIMSELF FREE AND ROLLS OUT OF THE RING!

The audience are like rabid dogs, frustrated as hell at the tactics from Anderson, whilst Dreamer shakes his head in the middle of the ring. Tommy motions for Anderson to bring it, but Anderson yells “I’M HERE TO WRESTLE NOT TO KILL SOMEBODY! THROW AWAY THE PIPE OR I’M OUTTA’ HERE”!

“PUSSY”, “PUSSY”, “PUSSY” chants are directed at Anderson from the Florida fans, but it has no impact on Anderson’s decision whatsoever. After a few more moments of frustration, Dreamer actually looks at the lead pipe before tossing it outside the ring, to the opposite side of where CW is standing of course. The heat from the fans shows their disappointment as Anderson now ensures the referee is able to hold Tommy back as he steps back inside the ring.

Bronx cheers can be heard from the fans now that Anderson is back in the ring, and Anderson and Tommy are circling each other again, much like when the match started. This time they Lock Up, jostling for position, but Tommy quickly transitions back into a Side Headlock. He holds the move only for a moment or two, until Anderson is able to counter into a Hammer Lock. Anderson is all smiles now as he contorts Tommy’s hand behind his back… but with his other arm, DREAMER REACHES OVER AND POKES ANDERSON RIGHT IN THE EYE!

Florida marks the fuck out for the cheap tactic from Dreamer who follows it up with a hard right hand that forces Anderson to fall back to the canvas. Rather than over committing Dreamer looks out at the fans who voice their appreciation as Anderson wearily makes his way back up. CW seeks out the referee and complains about the poke in the eye but there’s not much compassion shown from the referee who just gives Dreamer a stern look.

Anderson takes a moment or two to regain their composure and the two Lock Up again. This time there’s no Side Headlock, it’s just a pure battle of strength. Neither man seems to be really having the advantage straight away, until Dreamer lands a quick knee to the mid section… DDT! NO! ANDERSON JUST MANAGES TO GET HIMSELF FREE AND HEADS STRAIGHT TO THE CORNER!

CW seems to be a little shocked at some of the heelish tactics put in place by Dreamer, but Tommy just smirks at CW and points at his head as if to say I’m smarter than you. They lock up for a third time now, this time CW comes in with a little more momentum and frustration and wins the battle of strength. Anderson is able to back Dreamer into the corner and hold him there, only breaking before the referee gets to the count of five. Anderson aggressively shoves the referee away from him… AND TOMMY KICKS CW RIGHT IN THE DICK CAUSING HIM TO CRUMBLE TO THE MAT IN AGONY! DREAMER WITH THE LATERAL PRESS…1…2…CW GETS A SHOULDER UP!

Tommy gets back up as the “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out again. Anderson is in complete agony for a bit before he uses the ropes to get himself back up. Dreamer is poised and ready… AND CHARGES AT ANDERSON TO TAKE HIM DOWN WITH THE DREAM CUTTER… BUT CW HOLDS ONTO THE TOP ROPE… AND DREAMER LANDS BY HIMSELF, AWKWARDLY ON HIS LEFT ARM!

The groans from the audience can be heard as Dreamer screams out in pain. This is what we call the turning point of the contest, as from here on in; Anderson has a sustained period of dominance where he just focuses on the weakened left arm of his opponent.

We pick things back up and Anderson has Dreamer locked in the FUJIWARA ARMBAR, clearly looking for the submission victory. Dreamers screaming in pain… as Anderson pulls tighter and tighter… trying to rip Dreamer’s arm off… UNTIL FINALLY TOMMY IS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE BOTTOM ROPE!

The referee forces Anderson to drop the hold, which causes a sense of relief to spread throughout the arena. Anderson argues with the referee trying to convince him that Dreamer tapped out, but there’s absolutely nothing going his way. Anderson continues to brutalise the arm of Tommy, bringing him up to his feet… ONLY TO SEND HIM BACK DOWN WITH A SINGLE ARM DDT! ANDERSON WITH THE COVER…1…2…DREAMER KICKS OUT!

The now in control and cocky Anderson continues on the attack, ploughing away at the arm, before getting dreamer in a FIREMAN’S CARRY POSITION… AND DROPPING DREAMER INTO AN ARM BREAKER! Dreamer rolls around on the canvas, perhaps yelling louder than he’s ever yelled before, as CW laughs to himself, before yelling to the fans, “IT’S DONE NOW”!

Anderson now walks up to the downed Dreamer… AND LOCKS IN THE ANDERSON TRADITION! CW is again looking to force Tommy to submit, really applying the pressure. Screams of agony come from Tommy… whilst screams of effort come from CW… wanting Tommy to tap… as Tommy does all he can to wiggle towards the ropes…

He’s still got awhile to go… as Anderson synchs the hold in further… wanting Tommy to tap… And Tommy raises his hand… About to tap… when he reaches out…

    AND TAPS OUT!

BUT BEFORE HIS HAND CAN HIT THE CANVAS, IT LANDS ON THE BOTTOM ROPE!

The fans go bonkers for the heart and soul of ECW’s resilience yet again, meanwhile Anderson isn’t really sure what to do from here. Anderson brings Dreamer to his feet before sending him into the corner. Once there, Anderson begins teeing off with the best left hands to the face in the business… BUT TOMMY NO SELLS EVERY SINGLE FUCKING ONE OF THEM!

The entire colour quickly drains from the face of Anderson; Tommy blocks one last shot and hammers Anderson with a right of his own. CW is the one on the defensive now, rocking and reeling, until TOMMY TAKES HIM DOWN WITH A NECKBREAKER!

Both men remain down for awhile after this, feeling the effects of what has ended up being quite the pure wrestling contest. The competitor’s can’t even get to their feet on their own accord, as Dreamer uses one side of the ring ropes to get up, and Anderson uses the other. Once up, CW SWINGS WILDLY WITH A LEFT HAND… BUT DREAMER DUCKS AND LANDS AN INVERTED DDT!

DREAMER DRAMATICALLY DRAPES AN ARM OVER CW FOR THE PIN…1…2…3!

…NO! JUST LAST SECOND, ANDERSON GETS A SHOULDER UP!

Tommy is absolutely spent as he just shakes his head before getting ready for his next plan of attack. He doesn’t allow CW to get up this time, instead stepping over Anderson, putting his head between his legs and getting him in position for the Piledriver. TOMMY MOVES TO COMPLETE THE PILEDRIVER… BUT HE CAN’T QUITE GET ANDERSON UP DUE TO HIS BAD ARM… AS DREAMER TRIES TO SHAKE SOME MOVEMENT BACK INTO THE ARM… CW COUNTERS WITH A BACK BODY DROP!

The youngest wrestling Anderson tries to shake out the cobwebs, before bringing Tommy back up. CW lands with a few hard left hands, before sending Dreamer into the ropes. When Tommy comes back, ANDERSON SPINEBUSTER!

    NO!

IT’S REVERSED INTO A TORNADO DDT! TOMMY HOOKS THE LEG,..1…2…3! YES!

NO! CW JUST GETS A SHOULDER OFF THE MAT!

The fans can’t believe it just as much as Dreamer, as CW is barely moving now but he was still able to kick out of Tommy’s DDT. Tommy senses the end is near though as he staggers towards the ropes, heads outside the ring… AND PICKS UP THE LEAD PIPE!

As Dreamer slips back into the ring, the atmosphere in the arena sounds like a soccer World Cup game… The fans are going ape shit… as Dreamer is standing… cocked and loaded with the lead pipe… waiting for Anderson to get up… WHEN HE’S SPEARED TO THE GROUND BY SIMON DIAMOND AND JOHNNY SWINGER!

The two stomp the life out of Dreamer who’s in no condition to even try and defend himself against two men. The boo’s inside the arena are absolutely deafening as Team Me continue to keep Dreamer occupied, whilst their buddy Anderson recovers. Cheers begin to ring out from the fans again though, as help is on the way… As the grateful JAZZ slides into the ring, attempting to stop the double team… BUT SHE RUNS STRAIGHT INTO A FUCKING SUPERKICK FROM THAT SADISTIC BASTARD CW ANDERSON!

There’s a shocked silence for a moment BEFORE A NEVER BEFORE HEARD LEVEL OF HEAT as CW Anderson has hit a woman again. Dreamer seems to have seen this out of the corner of his eye and it has gotten him pretty pumped, as he avoids a right hand from Swinger… AND DROPS HIM WITH A SHARP DDT!

Meanwhile Jazz has been kicked to the outside of the ring by CW Anderson and he laughs at his handy work as EMT’s attend to her…

Tommy’s like a man possessed now though, as he avoids a few shots from Diamond… AND DROPS HIM WITH A DDT AS WELL!

As Team Me both attempt to regroup on the outside, Dreamer bounces up, gritting his teeth, shaking with fury… AS HE TURNS STRAIGHT INTO AN ANDERSON SPINEBUSTER!

    CW HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!

    Winner – CW Anderson @ 11:34

Not many people expected this result, so there’s initially a stunned silence from the fans inside the arena, before the heat kicks back in, and the garbage begins filling up the ring.

CW Anderson has his hand raised in victory; before the referee leaves the ring to help the EMT’s who have Jazz half way to the back.

Team Me and an exhausted CW laugh at the sight of Jazz being carried to the back, before they all slap each other five, happy with a job well done tonight.

Anderson doesn’t seem satisfied though as he looks down at Dreamer and shakes his head at his friends, saying “LET’S FINISH HIM”!

CDubbs barks instructions at his friends and they separate Dreamer’s left arm from the rest of his body, holding it in place.

CW Anderson pulls down his knee pad… before climbing up to the top rope… ready to break the arm of his adversary… WHEN HE’S SMASHED IN THE FACE BY A CHAIR SHOT FROM DANNY DORING!

CW tumbles off the top rope and to the outside floor, as a shocked Swinger turns around and charges STRAIGHT INTO A BODY SPLASH BY DORING’S TAG TEAM PARTNER ROADKILL!

Simon Diamond panics and BOLTS ACROSS THE RING… JUMPING TROUGH THE ROPES… BUT HE COPS C HAIRSHOT TO THE HIP FROM DORING ON THE WAY THROUGH!

On the other side of the ring… Swinger begs off of Roadkill… Who shakes his head… AND PICKS UP SWINGER IN A MILITARY PRESS POSITION… AND THROWS HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!

The fans are going crazy, showing their support for Doring and Roadkill’s action as they begin checking on, and slowly helping the bruised Tommy Dreamer to his feet…

As Tommy gets up, albeit a little groggily, he looks to the outside where Anderson and Team Me are regaining their wits, and slowly backing up the ramp…

    “TOMMY”, “TOMMY”, “TOMMY”

The fans chants urge the faces on, as they plead for Anderson and Team Me to return to the ring…

They are having none of it, as Anderson yells “THIS ISN’T OVER”, but it’s clear he and his buddies are choosing to fight another day…

And our last image of the night is the Tommy Dreamer, along with his saviours Danny Doring and Roadkill standing triumphant in the middle of the ring…

Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

Interesting start with a great Cyrus promo, as usual. Cyrus is a very compelling character of yours. I find it odd on the Aug 19 episode, we have something that shows being recorded on Aug 26th, the second day of the Tag Title tournament. I like the pressure he's placing on Justin Credible here, as it makes the decision feel much more dramatic considering the times he's been forced to stop his decision.

A challenge to Billy Corgan?! Oh my, that's just Smashing!

It seemed obvious that York/Matthews would be eliminated first, but damn I wish they'd have had a bit more. It makes sense how you did it, I just like the sound of the team and want more of them. Hot Commodity is definitely getting some good heat out of this, though. Elektra had to be involved in the decision considering her joining them, and she made her presence worthwhile here. Good match with Hot Commodity looking good and getting the great heel heat on two fan favorites.

That Lynn save was pretty good, and shows just how great Lynn is with his bounty still going and him continually defending against multiple people. I love York/Matthews getting involved here, getting some comeuppance here. It's pretty satisfying to have some good going on this, and them saving the day in that way helps build up the tag tournament even more. I'm so excited for that thing. Lynn getting the win with the That's Incredible is awesome, and builds well. I'm curious what Justin Credible will say about that, or Corino, and how that'll affect decisions.

The CW Anderson promo was intense, built up slowly and well. The partnership with Team Me is awesome, and I am feeling like Anderson is going to be a really good midcard player. He's terrifying and it's perfect.

I love that Dreamer did the anti-babyface move and used the handshake to start the fight. That's legit ECW-style babyface there. I got some goosebumps on that "who's got something for me" just because of how amazing it is to have that kind of connection with the crowd. It's amazing how Anderson just talked about his family being hardcore and Dreamer not being, how he and Dreamer fought on the last show and suddenly he's scared and here to wrestle instead. That's some serious heeling it up.

Dreamer playing heel and the crowd eating it up is such a fantastic way to do this match and with everything in context makes complete sense. It's a great move. Unfortunate that CW gets the upperhand eventually, I was loving the stupid shit with Dreamer being just smarter and better. And then Dreamer Hulks up and it is bad ass. Man, I am wholeheartedly behind Dreamer here, and it's just fun. This is a good back and forth match with some serious high spots for the babyface.

I was waiting for Chekov's Pipe to come into play, and here's the perfect time for it... And of course, Team Me has to come into play here. I like that Jazz came out to help Tommy, considering this all started with her. It's awesome that Tommy got two big DDTs off, and the spinebuster is a fantastic finish to me.

Doring and Roadkill! Woo! Great time for a save, that arm breaker would've been gruesome really. This ending helps hype the tag tournament a bit more and built up this six-man feud in a way.

In the end, I really enjoyed this show. It was short on the key pieces of most shows (FBI, Network, Unholy Alliance, Credible, Rhino) but was heavy on hyping up something important. You know I love tag teams, and so this kind of show gets my blood pumping for it. I'm excited to see where some of this goes, and like that this kind of gave some midcard build in as well.

I do wish we had a quick segment somewhere for a little extra promo time to get to know some guys. I'm still not that familiar with Chetti/Nova, and I like York/Matthews but want to get a little something out of them. But overall, the show was very good. I'm looking forward to some more character building over time (I know, it takes a lot of that to really build things), and really enjoying this build up to the tag tournament.

Cyrus and CW's promos were pure gold. Anderson's line about dreaming to lace up a pair of boots was great. The match between Dreamer and Anderson accentuates that Promo. Anderson needed the win and it served him and Team Me well. Tommy being saved by Roadkill and Doring helped with closing the show and furthering the story for the next time the six men will meet. Not too fond of the idea of Billy Corgan and Lou E "feud".

As usual, thanks Jaywhy and Gambit for the comments.

Jaywhy - York and Matthews are a solid young team who can put on a spot fest, I haven't given them much substance and am still not sure if I ever will. Sometimes you need a team who can put on an entertaining match to just kinda' be there.

Also, Chetti/Nova will get some basic promo time in the future.

Gambit - Corgan/Lou E. feud is a terrible idea. But it's standard Network bullshit, booking something the fans will hate on purpose, hence why Joey Styles even buried the idea of the feud on commentary.

Just a little news bit here as I realise wrestlers actively hyping tapings can make dates confusing. I have made adjustments in my future work to avoid this from happening again.

    Philadelphia Before Manhattan

There was a segment at the beginning of the latest edition of ECW Hardcore TV where the leader of The Network Cyrus stated that The Network would be in Manhattan next week. We would like to confirm that there was a block of text at the bottom of the screen which announced that Cyrus’ speech was recorded on August 26th. ECW programming does not currently air live therefore we still have a week worth of programming from Philadelphia to get through before we air the programming from Manhattan.

Furthermore on ECW programming several characters have been hyping up the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament to take place on the dates of August 25th and August 26th. Whilst this is the dates the shows will actually take place, these are characters hyping the tapings as the shows actually won’t air on television until September 1st and September 2nd.

Extreme Championship Wrestling would like to apologise to the world’s greatest fans for any possible mix up.

    ECW on TNN Preview

    25-08-2000

One man who has had a more eventful month than most is the ECW Champion Justin Credible. Nobody can argue that Credible has attempted to live up to that of a fighting champion, the only issue has been the way he has actually retained the title. In numerous title defences against numerous opponents, whether it is Francine or The Network, Credible has always seemed to have help. For two weeks running Kid Kash has been within a whisker of defeating Credible for the ECW Championship, only for the ECW Television Champion Rhino to interfere both times. Rhino is operating under the orders of the leader of The Network Cyrus, who’s been trying to get Credible and the ECW Championship into The Network for months. Credible at this stage seems confused as to exactly what decision he’ll make, however Cyrus has given him the deadline of tomorrow night’s tapings in New York. Kid Kash hasn’t been outnumbered for the whole time though, as ‘The Whole Fuckin’ Show’ Rob Van Dam has came out both times to get his hands on Rhino and make the save. Not only do Kash and RVD have mutual respect for one another since they shared a handshake after a match they had against each other a month ago, but Van Dam has other motives. RVD was the undefeated ECW TV Champion until he broke his ankle in the ring with Rhino and Rhino has been the champion since. Van Dam has been chasing Rhino since he returned from injury and he has constantly taken any opportunity to get his hands on ‘The Big Fuckin’ Deal’. These four have been intertwined in each other’s paths for the better part of two weeks and tonight it will all come to a head. Justin Credible and Rhino will team up to face Kid Kash and Rob Van Dam, and both these teams are also competing in the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament. The winner of this match just might go on to become the favourite for the whole tournament, but just who will it be?

For the better part of a month and a half now one of the biggest agendas in ECW has been crowning new tag team champions. The ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament brackets have been announced and all the teams involved are salivating at the opportunity that awaits them. Tonight we will see a huge eight man tag team match where each member in the match is involved in the Tournament, however only one team will have a Strange Bedfellow situations going on. It will be Chris Chetti, Christian York, Joey Matthews and Mikey Whipwreck teaming up against Da Angels and Hot Commodity. Whilst Hot Commodity and Da Angels are legitimate teams, Mikey and Chetti are both riding solo without their partners in this match. One has to wonder if team chemistry will come into play, or whether the underdogs can defy the odds? Either way all eight men will desperate to continue to build momentum so close to the Tournament start date.

The other contest tonight will feature the number one contender for the ECW Championship Jerry Lynn. He will be going one on one with Tom Marquez. Despite everything The Network have done to try and deter Lynn, including placing a bounty on his head, Lynn has fought through everything and is now inching closer to a shot at the gold. Lynn is using every match up until that title shot as a tune up to be at his absolute best when he gets a shot at the one thing that’s eluded him his whole career, championship success. Marquez is going to be a tough customer though, especially if his tag team partner Bilvis Wesley is at ringside, or even if The Network decides to get involved in this one. Will Jerry Lynn continue to defy the odds or will he suffer a setback on his quest for championship gold?

    Confirmed Matches:

ECW Champion Justin Credible and ECW Television Champion Rhino w/Francine vs. Kid Kash and Rob Van Dam

Chris Chetti, Christian York, Joey Matthews and Mikey Whipwreck vs. ‘Da Baldies and Hot Commodity

Jerry Lynn vs. Tom Marquez w/Bilvis Wesley

Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

This show was written awhile ago when I was losing motivation for the project. This is the reason for the VERY short match recaps, however I’ve gone and rewritten the main event so we at least have one decent match on the show. The next show will be back to my normal format.

    ECW On TNN

    August 25th, 2000

    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The show opens up with the rabid Philly crowd yelling “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” at the top of their lungs. Drinks are being spilled, people are being pushed and above all else, everybody is being loud as hell. The typical ECW atmosphere continues to cause a buzz throughout the arena as Joey Styles and the sex loving Joel Gertner standing in the middle of the ring.

The two are dressed to the nines, suited and booted, playing the role of professional announcers tremendously well. They both have microphone in their hands ready to formally welcome everybody to the show, but they are forced to stand around for an eternity listening to the best fans in wrestling mark the fuck out.

Joey Styles: Ladies and gentleman, WELCOME TO ECW ON TNN! I’m Joey Styles and next to me is the man who’s requested for me to call him big Joel Gertner. Whilst I have heard news to the contrary, big Joel tonight we are coming from one of my favourite wrestling cities in the world, PHILADELPHIA!

Of course before Joel can get a word in, the epic Philly crowd cheer like crazy for the compliment, for unloading into a “JOEY”, “JOEY”, “JOEY” chant.

Joel Gertner: BIG Joel is in the building and it’s safe to say I’m about as up as I get on a good night for this one. ECW on TNN, Philly, and we’ve got the main event of a lifetime as ECW Champion Justin Credible teams up with the ECW Television Champion Rhino to face the new found team of Kid Kash and ‘The Whole F’n Show’ Rob Van Dam!

Joey Styles: Some would say this tag team contest has been slowly building since many, many months ago when Rob Van Dam broke his ankle in the ring with Rhino, which lead to Rhino becoming the new TV Champion. Since returning from injury RVD and his close friend and manager Bill Alfonso have been vowing that Van Dam would get a shot at Rhino and he WILL be the ECW TV Champion again.

Joel Gertner: On the other side of the match, the ECW Champion Justin Credible has been struggling to hold onto his gold, and Kid Kash is one of the challengers who have been giving him some problems.

Joey Styles: Twice over the past two weeks Kid Kash has been within a whisker of becoming the ECW Champion only for Rhino to interfere. Both times Rhino and Credible have begun beating down on Kash; RVD has come to make the save. To thicken the plot even more, Rhino is a member of The Network and The Network’s leader Cyrus has been continuously trying to get Credible and the ECW Championship to join The Network.

Joel Gertner: At this point in time Justin Credible and Francine have been a little uneasy about the whole situation.

Joey Styles: And if things could get even more interesting, BOTH these teams will be participating in the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament that begins next week!

Joel Gertner: But that’s not all tonight, we’ll also see...

???: HEY, HEY, THAT’S ENOUGH... CUT TO THE BACK...

Joey, Joel and the fans all seem to be confused, wondering where the voice is coming from...

When all of a sudden we cut to the back to see a typical smug looking Cyrus in a suit, flanked by the wrestling gear clad ECW Champion Justin Credible and the ECW Television Champion Rhino. Even further behind them, with the ECW title draped over her shoulder is Credible’s girl, Francine. Credible and Rhino both looked pretty ticked off, as the Philly fans give as much heat as they possibly can to the quartet.

Cyrus: Now that Joel has shut his fat mouth, the show can really begin...

Cyrus smirks at the heat from the fans before stepping to the background. Credible looks to step forward but the intense Rhino nudged him out of the way... and Credible smartly decides to let Rhino go first. Cyrus is quick to put a hand on Credible’s shoulder as he can see the champ isn’t very happy.

Rhino: I BROKE Kid Kash in half last week... and I was (holds index finger and thumb close together) this close to doing the exact same thing to Rob Van Dam.

Heat from the fans as Rhino’s temper begins building as always.

Rhino: Because I’M THE WHOLE FUCKING SHOW...

    Rhino pauses, breathing heavily.

    Rhino: NOT ROB VAN DAM!

Booo’s from the fans as Rhino’s face gets redder by the millisecond.

Rhino: THERE’S NO TV SHOW WITHOUT THE TV CHAMPION!

‘The Big F’n Deal’ punches the tin title on his waist, almost breaking the thing.

    Rhino: I’M THE TV CHAMPION...

Rhino now rips the title from his waist and pushes it right into the camera.

    Rhino: NOT ROB VAN DAM!

The fans as usual seem rather shocked by Rhino’s intensity, as even the wrestlers around him are backing away slightly.

Rhino: THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS AN UNCROWNED CHAMPION!

The Television Champion carelessly throws the title to the floor now as he continues...

Rhino: ROB VAN DAM NEEDS TO LEARN JUST WHO IN THE FUCK I AM!

Rhino begins punching his own chest now, pumping himself up.

Rhino: I’M HE BIG FUCKING DEAL!

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    Rhino: I’M RHINO!

Rhino now turns, still fuming and stares down Justin Credible.

Rhino: AND I MIGHT BE THE NEXT ECW CHAMPION IF YOU DON’T DECIDE TO JOIN THE NETWORK!

Rhino’s breathing slows down as he begins to calm himself down, however the ECW Champion doesn’t seem to impressed, as Credible takes a couple of steps towards Rhino. Credible looks Rhino up and down with a bemused look on his face.

Justin Credible: You? The next ECW Champion? You wouldn’t be able to handle it...

Cyrus and Francine both look at each other nervously as the tension builds.

Rhino: You might want to handle Francine better...

Rhino looks over at Francine viciously, much to the annoyance of JC. Francine looks like she’s just shit her pants.

Rhino: The champ’s girl can’t be walking around with two black eyes...

Credible has had enough now as he THROWS HIS TITLE TO THE FLOOR... AND GETS IN RHINO’S FACE!

Justin Credible: Break RVD’s neck tonight if you really want a shot at my belt...

Rhino shoves Cyrus who’s trying to get in between the two out of the way.

Rhino: I’M GONNA RIP THEIR NECKS OFF AND PISS DOWN THEIR THROATS!

The ECW Television Champion is heavy breathing again... AND HE GRABS AN UNEXPECTED JUSTIN CREDIBLE AROUND THE THROAT!

    Rhino: ...I love you, man...

Rhino then relinquishes his grip and walks off, as Credible is left coughing up a hairball. Cyrus goes to chase after Rhino but before he leaves, he shoots JC and Francine an apologetic look, but neither seems pleased. Francine picks up the ECW Championship before placing it back on the shoulder of the champion.

    Francine: Don’t wo-...

    Justin Credible: SHUT... UP!

Credible then furiously shrugs Francine off of him and storms away. Francine is left to look a little emotional as she eventually begins chasing after her man...

    ...

We then cut back to ringside and the crowd begins going ABSOLUTELY APESHIT as the number one contender for the ECW Championship Jerry Lynn steps through the curtain. Lynn’s in his wrestling gear but before his opponent can make their entrance, Lynn grabs a microphone. Lynn laughs and shrugs his shoulders saying that tonight’s match is going to be easy, so to keep the awesome ECW fans happy he has an announcement to make. He makes it clear that he doesn’t give a damn what The Network have booked for next week in Manhattan, it just doesn’t matter. He guarantees that on October 1st at ECW Anarchy Rulz in St. Paul, just down the road from where he grew up, he is going to walk out of that building and that event as the ECW Champion. The fans love it as usual and begin chanting “JERRY LYNN” over and over, as Lynn awaits his opponent.

    ...

Honestly, Lynn’s promo probably went longer than this match did. Despite Bilvis Wesley’s presence at ringside, Jerry Lynn took care of Tom Marquez rather easily, finishing him off with the Cradle Piledriver after 1:25.

    ...

The business certainly picks up once the bell has rung, as Lynn has his arm raised by the referee and basks in the glory of the fans adulation. Whilst Marquez still isn’t moving, Bilvis Wesley is unhappy and points menacingly at Lynn before grabbing a microphone.

Bilvis Wesley: Y’know, you’re pretty smug for somebody who still has a bounty on his head...

The fans boo the hell out of Wesley’s statement; however a nonplussed Lynn holds the ropes open, inviting Wesley to come get some. As he’s doing this he requests a microphone and is quickly handed one by a jobber at ringside.

Jerry Lynn: Come on in and collect then...

Everybody is egging on Bilvis, who pumps himself up, puffs out his chest... ROLLS INTO THE RING...

AND CHARGES STRAIGHT INTO A MICROPHONE SHOT TO THE HEAD FROM JERRY LYNN!

Hoots and hollers from the fans echo throughout the arena as the natives of Philly are pretty happy with the number one contender right now.

Lynn looks down at the semi conscious Wesley, shaking his head in bemusement.

Jerry Lynn: Send this one back to The Network...

“FUCK THE NETWORK”, “FUCK THE NETWORK”, “FUCK THE NETWORK” chants from the typical feral ECW fans...

As Lynn mercilessly brings Bilvis back up... BEFORE DROPPING HIM WITH A CRADLE PILEDRIVER!

Another humungous pop is heard for the ever popular Lynn, as he energetically gets to his feet and raises his arms in celebration.

Lynn then turns to look at the other side of the arena... ONLY TO RUN STRAIGHT INTO A GORE BY RHINO!

The mood in the arena completely changes as the fans boo the hell out of Rhino, who stands above Lynn and at the top of his lungs yells “FUCK YOU”!

The viciousness of this man is unrivalled as Rhino quickly heads outside of the ring, looks underneath the ring... AND PULLS OUT A WOODEN TABLE!

Rhino slides the table into the ring before getting back in himself, and stomping on the back of Lynn a few times.

The ECW TV Champion then grabs the table and stands it up against the corner of the ring...

Lynn is beginning to stir as the fans beg him to stay down, knowing he’s about to be Gored through the table...

    However when Lynn gets up...

RHINO TURNS THE OTHER WAY... AND CLOTHESLINES THE HELL OUT OF TOMMY DREAMER!

Groans can be heard from the ECW fans as one of the most loyal wrestlers of all time came to make the save, only for Rhino to catch him off guard.

Rhino quickly heads over to Lynn and throws him outside of the ring.

The TV champ then looks back towards Dreamer, who gets up a little unsteadily... AND RHINO CHARGES ACROSS THE RING... GORING TOMMY DREAMER RIGHT THROUGH THE FUCKING TABLE!

The best chant in wrestling, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” echoes throughout the arena... as Rhino has the adrenaline pumping and quickly heads outside of the ring.

He gets yet ANOTHER table and sets this one up on the cold, hard concrete floor.

Rhino then grabs Lynn by the hair, and drags him towards and onto the ring apron.

The TV Champion jumps onto the ring apron as well, putting Lynn’s head between his legs... READY FOR THE PILEDRIVER OFF THE APRON AND THROUGH THE TABLE...

However Rhino gets distracted as the fans begin MARKING THE FUCK OUT FOR KID KASH AND ROB VAN DAM who both sprint to the ring!

Unlike half the wrestlers in the world, Rhino isn’t deaf and he knows something’s up from the crowd reaction. He throws Lynn off of the apron and turns around to see both Kash and RVD in the ring...

Rhino is an absolute animal as he just yells “FUCK YEAH” and steps into the ring...

Immediately Kash and Van Dam pepper Rhino with right hands, really causing him trouble...

BEFORE RVD GOES LOW WITH THE LEG SWEEP... AS KASH COMES OVER THE TOP WITH THE SPINNING HEEL KICK!

The arena is SHAKING WITH THE RIDICULOUS noise coming from the fans now... as Van Dam and Kash ready themselves for another Rhino onslaught...

BUT RHINO GETS DRAGGED OUT OF THE RING BY JUSTIN CREDIBLE!

The fans give Credible heat for interrupting the entertaining brawl... as Rhino looks to shrug Credible off and get back inside the ring... but Credible says “save some for later big man”.

As the two heels slowly head to the back, Kid Kash heads to the corner and begins trying to help Tommy Dreamer up from the ruins of the table...

Meanwhile Jerry Lynn has gotten back into the ring, seeing who has come to make his save... AND LYNN STORMS UP TO VAN DAM AND THE TWO OLDEST OF RIVALS GO NOSE TO NOSE!

The crowds at a fever pitch again as Lynn and RVD both refuse to back down, until Lynn breaks the silence. “I didn’t need your help”, which is followed by A PUSH TO THE CHEST OV RVD!

‘The Whole Fuckin’ Show’ is quick to get back in Lynn’s face, replying with “it looked like you did”, and RVD PUSHES LYNN RIGHT BACK IN THE CHEST...

ONLY FOR LYNN TO SLAP VAN DAM IN THE FACE!

    “OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”

The gasps from everybody in the arena are huge as JERRY LYNN AND ROB VANB DAM BEGIN TRAIDING RIGHT HANDS!

They go hammer and tong, neither man backing down... UNTIL KID KASH GRABS VAN DAM... AND TOMMY DREAMER GRABS HOLD OF LYNN!

“LET THEM FIGHT”, “LET THEM FIGHT”, “LET THEM FIGHT” is heard from the fans, as Kash, RVD and HALF OF PHILLY’S EMPLOYED SECURITY do all they can to keep the two sworn enemies apart.

Just as it looks like they might be successful... BOTH MEN BREAK FREE AND BEGIN BEATING THE FUCK OUT OF EACH OTHER AGAIN!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” can be heard again, as absolute chaos continues...

Joey Styles: OHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYY GAWWWWWWWWWWWWWD! Jerry Lynn and Rob Van Dam will NEVER see eye to eye on anything. These two are sworn enemies, Batman has The Joker, Superman has Lex Luther... and Jerry Lynn and Rob Van Dam have each other! Nobody can keep these two apart right now, what the hell’s going to happen next week when Lynn and Dreamer face RVD and Kid Kash in the first round of the ECW Tag Title Tournament?

Joey’s final shill job is only just heard over the “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants...

Jerry Lynn and Rob Van Dam still trying to get to each other, as we head to commercials.

    -COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Once we return from the commercial break, we see Joey Styles and Joel Gertner standing by, and they recap the explosive beginning to tonight’s show. They then hype up tomorrow night’s ECW Hardcore TV main event which will see Psicosis vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri. The two salivate at the thought of how good a pure wrestling match this will be as the scene fades away...

    ...

We then cut to another area in back where The Unholy Alliance, Yoshihiro Tajiri, Mikey Whipwreck and The Sinister Minister standing by. The Sinister Minister goes on one of his usual tirades throwing insults at politicians who consistently lie to the public, and he says it seems as if every man in a three dollar suit can get on television these days. The Sinister Minister just wants to make it clear that there’s a fine line dividing genius from sanity, and The Unholy Alliance have well and truly crossed that line! As The Sinister Minister continues to look into the camera, the weird duo of Mikey and Tajiri are cackling uncontrollably in the background.

    ...

Next up we get an exciting eight man tag team match. One team consists of Chris Chetti, Christian York, Joey Matthews and Mikey Whipwreck and they are up against Da Baldies and Hot Commodity. Realistically the match is fairly by the numbers with the major excitement coming from the point that the face team has a Strange Bedfellow type situation with Whipwreck and Chetti being the two teaming with York and Matthews. A majority of the match is used for ‘The Voice Of ECW’ Joey Styles to hype the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament which begins next week at ECW on TNN. The match follows a standard formula and after Mikey gets the hot tag all hell breaks loose. As everybody battles around the ring, Mikey is able to take care of business inside, landing the Whippersnapper on Angel to pick up the victory at 7:34.

    ...

As the strange team of faces begin awkwardly celebrating, we head to the back where Joey Styles and Joel Gertner are standing by. Despite the introduction from The Network earlier in the night, both seem to be in pretty good spirits.

Joey Styles: Ladies and gentleman we hope you’re all enjoying what has been another extreme night here on TNN. We’ve still got the huge main event where we will see ECW Champion Justin Credible team up with ECW TV Champion Rhino to take on Kid Kash and Rob Van Dam! Before we get to that though, I wanted to mention that after all the hype, finally tomorrow night we will see Justin Credible defend the ECW Championship against the number one contender Jerry Lynn and a member of The Network in Steve Corino.

Joel Gertner: Keep in mind that this won’t actually air on Hardcore TV tomorrow night, it won’t air for another few weeks, but it will take place tomorrow night at the Hammerstein Ballroom tapings in New York. Jerry Lynn has been chasing glory in ECW for as long as I can remember and what a story it would be, if he can come away with the gold.

Joey Styles: Speaking of stories, Cyrus has given Justin Credible until the end of tomorrow night’s television tapings to make the call and whether he will be joining The Network. I wonder what happens if Credible decides to join The Network?

Joel Gertner: Obviously that means The Network will have two competitors in the match, more than likely working together to keep the title in house!

Styles nods along with Gertner before he takes a step forward and Gertner takes a step back. All of a sudden Joey has centre stage, the upbeat smile and hype is gone, and Joey looks furiously red in the face.

Joey Styles: Well we’ve got this time, because who knows how much longer we will have this time, I wanted to make an announcement regarding the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament... I think it’s safe to say that everybody knows legally... ECW on TNN is our flagship show.

Styles pauses, building up a head of steam and snarling a little.

Joey Styles: The way things are going with Paul E. and negotiations with The Network, after another month and a half, this deal is finished.

‘The Voice Of ECW’ shakes his head in disgust, clearly passionate about the topic.

Joey Styles: That’s right ladies and gentleman, in a month and a half, we won’t be on this Network anymore...

Styles shakes his head as Gertner nods along with him in the background.

Joey Styles: So screw Cyrus and screw TNN!

Joey legitimately yells the last part of that statement.

Joey Styles: Because we are legally obliged to we will have ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament footage on TNN next week...

Styles pauses, letting these words sink in.

Joey Styles: But it will be the first round match ups.

Styles stops, getting really pumped up now, trembling with passion, like Rhino, except you know, not like Rhino.

Joey Styles: IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THE SEMI FINALS AND THE FINALS OF THE TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT...

    One last pause.

Joey Styles: THEN YOU’LL HAVE TO WATCH ECW HARDCORE TV THE NEXT NIGHT...

    NOT TNN!

The two announcers, Styles and Gertner nod defiantly, standing up for all of ECW, a company united as one, against all the odds...

    -COMMERCIAL BREAK-

We return from the commercial break, and it’s main event time as “Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck” by Grinspoon plays for the first time tonight, signalling the arrival of the ECW Champion Justin Credible, accompanied by his girlfriend Francine. The reaction is still more towards the negative than positive but there’s certainly a few cheers littered in for Credible, as the fans are hoping he doesn’t side with The Network. The champion ignores the fans though, hopping inside the ring and waiting for both his crazed partner and his opponents to arrive. Speaking of his crazed (awesome really) partner, “Debonaire” by Dope is next to sound through the pa system, and the ECW Television Champion Rhino storms down the ramp. Rhino gets tons of heat except for some of the smark Philly fans, as he gets straight into the ring and barely acknowledges his partner. “Fuck That” by Kid Rock is next to be heard as the man enjoying the loudest reactions he’s ever received, Kid Kash steps out from the back. Rhino and Credible plead with KK to come to the ring but Kash waits at the ramp. “Walk” by Kilgore draws an even LOUDER reaction than Kash’s as Rob Van Dam confidently struts from the back, accompanied as always by the whistle blowing Bill Alfonso. RVD slaps hands with Kash before performing his usual thumb taunt... “ROB VAN DAM”. That’s enough pandering to the fans though as RVD and Kash both divert their attention to their opponents in the ring.

    Match Three
ECW Champion Justin Credible and ECW Television Champion Rhino w/Francine vs. Kid Kash and Rob Van Dam w/Bill Alfonso

There’s no boring feeling out process, there’s no working out who’s going to be the legal man. The managers do their thing on the outside as RVD and Kid Kash slide into the ring... and THE BRAWL IS ON!

All four men go at it, throwing lefts and rights and anything else they may be able to, neither team willing to back down. This really is the story of the match with all four men going at it, inside the ring, outside the ring, and even throughout the crowd on different occasions.

The match begins to wind down when both sets of rivals have paired off with each other. Credible and Kash are going blow for blow on one side of the ring, whilst Van Dam is beating the living hell out of Rhino on the other side. Due to the unpredictable nature of the match, and all the used and not used weapons that are littered through the arena, the fans are still going crazy with chants of “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”.

‘The Whole Fuckin’ Show’ is able to drop the man who kept him out of action for months with a Mule Kick. RVD then gets Rhino in position for a Suplex AND FORCES RHINO TO LAND STERNUM FIRST ACROSS THE CROWD BARRICADE!

The former ECW Television Champion surveys the audience and they begin to mark out as the fans know what Van Dam wants to do. RVD gets onto the ring apron and then climbs to the top rope, and as he’s looking towards the fans, JUSTIN CREDIBLE HAS BEEN ABLE TO SLOW DOWN KID KASH WITH A LOW BLOW!

Philadelphia chants “ROB VAN DAM” along with the thumb taunts... BUT BEFORE RVD CAN LEAP OFF OF THE TOP ROPE... JUSTIN CREDIBLE SNAPS A KENDO STICK ACROSS HIS HEAD!

RVD looks damn near unconscious but still straddled on the top rope... SO CREDIBLE PUSHES HIM OFF THE TOP ROPE... AND VAN DAM GOES FLYING TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING... CRASHING STERENUM FIRST INTO THE CROWD BARRICADE!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out from the fans again as the bump that RVD just took looked crazy as hell. Despite the heels having the advantage, Rhino looks a little pissed off on the outside as Joey Styles points out on commentary, “I think Credible’s actually a little lucky that one worked. If Rhino wasn’t able to roll off of the crowd barricade, Van Dam would have landed on him”!

A furious Rhino yells at Credible, “WHAT THE HELLS WRONG WITH YOU?” The ECW Champion doesn’t seem to realise what the problem is as he shrugs and tells Rhino “I’m actually beating our opponents, you should try it.”

Credible goes to walk off... BUT RHINO GRABS HIS ARM ROUGHLY, NOT LETTING HIM GO!!!

The two go nose to nose, screaming at each, ready to come to blows. The slightest “CREDIBLE” chants can be heard, everybody anticipating this fight... UNTIL KID KASH COMES FROM NOWHERE AND CREAMS RHINO IN THE SIDE OF THE HEAD WITH HIS OWN TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP!

With Rhino down, KASH NOW SWINGS THE TITLE AT CREDIBLE... WHO DUCKS... AND KNOCKS KASH STRAIGHT BACK DOWN WITH A SUPERKICK!

Francine applauds frantically, knowing her man is actually looking really good tonight. Credible then looks to set KASH UP FOR THE THAT’S INCREDIBLE PILEDRIVER... BUT KASH FIGHTS OUT... AND LOW BLOWS CREDIBLE!

After getting payback for the earlier low blow he received... KASH DRAGS CREDIBLE TOWARDS WHERE THERE IS A STEEL CHAIR ON THE FLOOR... AND DROPS HIM WITH A BRAINBUSTER ON THE STEEL CHAIR... WHICH HE IS NOW CALLING DEAD LEVEL!!!

Both men remain down on the outside as those famous “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants come into play yet again. Credible hasn’t moved whilst Kash slowly makes his way to his feet... AND ONLY TO GET GORED BY RHINO!!! AND UPON IMPACT... THE BACK OF KASH’S HEAD SMASHES INTO THE CROWD BARRICADE!

Rhino gets up, punching his chest and letting out a roar... UNTIL RVD COMES OFF THE CROWD BARRICADE HE WAS IMPALED ON... DRILLING RHINO WITH A THRUST KICK!

“RVD”, “RVD”, “RVD” echoes from the fans as a battered and bruised Van Dam picks up Justin Credible and rolls him into the ring. The ECW Champion shockingly uses the ropes to get to his feet rather quickly... VAN DOM GOES FOR A KICK TO THE GUT... CREDIBLE CATCHES THE LEG... STEP OVER SPINNING HEEL KICK FROM RVD!

The most popular man in all of ECW senses his chance, now jumping up to the top rope, surveying the crowd... BEFORE COMING OFF OF THE TOP WITH THE FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH!!! Van Dam sells the impact the move has on his insides, clutching his stomach, before making the cover, hooking the leg... The referee sprints to where Credible’s shoulders are to make the count... BUT BEFORE HE CAN DROP DOWN... RHINO FUCKS UP THE REFEREE WITH A BRUTAL GORE!!!

‘The Big Fuckin’ Deal’ then drops Van Dam with a Neckbreaker before heading back outside. Kash is still crawled into a ball, barely moving after The Gore he received as Rhino grabs a table he set up earlier and begins setting it up in the position he wants it to be... Rhino then grabs Kash and drags him up to the ring apron... BEFORE DIVING OFF... AND SENDING KASH CRUHSING THROUGH THE TABLE WITH A PILEDRIVER!!!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” and “HOLY SHIT”, “HOLY SHIT”, “HOLY SHIT” chants are mixed together as Kid Kash may be dead according to Joey Styles. Rhino gingerly gets up and gets back into the ring... ONLY FOR THE SANDMANTO APPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE AND SMASH HIM IN THE FACE WITH HIS TRUSTY SINGAPORE CANE!

Rhino staggers but doesn’t drop, but Sandman easily grabs him and throws him outside the ring. Styles mentions that The Sandman’s interference must be due to wanting to soften up the competition before the ECW Tag Team Championship tournament kicks off... AS SANDMAN NOW TURNS STRAIGHT INTO A TITLE SHOT TO THE FOREHEAD FROM JUSTIN CREDIBLE!

Credible gets up and raises his title above his head, as Francine warns him to turn around. The fans are still at a fever pitch, and Credible thinks it’s all for him, yet when he turns around... JERRY LYNN KICKS HIM IN THE GUT... BEFORE DROPPING HIM WITH THE CRADLE PILEDRIVER!

Lynn gets up feeling pretty good about himself, and picks up the ECW Championship, staring at it. Lynn is almost dazed by the gold and the fact he can see his reflection in it... WHEN RVD KICKS THE BELT INTO LYNN’S FACE WITH A VAN TERMINATOR!

Jerry rolls out of the ring, all hell has well and truly broken loose, as the fans chant “ROB VAN DAM”, “ROB VAN DAM”, “ROB VAN DAM! With everybody else down, RVD heads to the top rope... AND LANDS HIS SECOND FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH OF THE MATCH ON CREDIBLE!

RVD rolls around in agony, before DRAPING AN ARM OVER THE CHEST OF CREDIBLE... BUT THERE’S NO REFEREE...

UNTIL A NEW REFEREE SLIDES INTO THE RING!!!

    And makes the count...

    1...2...3!

Winners – Kid Kash and Rob Van Dam @ 15:31

After the contest, the referee helps a worse for wear Van Dam to his feet, and RVD staggers into the corner, forced to use the ropes to stay on a vertical base.

The referee comes to the corner and raises Van Dam’s hand in victory, which causes the in pain warrior to smile and the Philadelphia fans just continue to mark out...

Van Dam now musters the energy to climb to the top rope, and he looks around at all the chaos as everybody is down and out either inside or outside of the ring...

RVD shrugs as if to say “at least I’m okay”, before performing the thumb to the shoulders... As the fans chant along... ROB...VAN...DAM...

“ROB VAN DAM”, “ROB VAN DAM”, “ROB VAN DAM”

The fans continue to chant his name, as the triumphant RVD celebrates and we fade to black.

Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

I can kind of tell this wasn't something you were that into, it read differently. There was lot more commentator focus, which honestly, I like how you navigate them normally. The opening made me a little confused with it being just the commentators running down how things have gotten to here, but I like it also since it can help newer readers get involved.

Rhino's promo was okay, I feel like he seemed like more of some lug in this than usual, though. I'm really confused about his "I love you, man" to Credible. I don't really get that, doesn't seem very Rhino like, but it does add a layer to their partnership. Credible was obviously uncomfortable with Rhino's threats and everything.

Lynn's promo was great. The match was expected to be short, it was nothing. But his promos were awesome. I really loved the challenge to sort of bring it on. The Rhino attack and literally everyone involved in the past however long it's been coming out was great. Rhino showed a lot of gusto there, Credible showed some sort of caring for Rhino, and it even hinted well toward the tag tournament with the Lynn/RVD explosion. Great stuff here, as usual.

I love the Unholy Alliance, so I'm looking forward to Tajiri against Psicosis. I wish the promo would've been more in depth just because of how great Sinister Minister can be. I'm really looking forward to them in the tournament.

Again, odd to see so much from the commentators on your show. However, it made a lot of sense here. So I'm curious to see what will happen with The Network when ECW moves to Hardcore TV after the first round of the tag tournament. I can see this adding a wrinkle to their feuds, but it could be really interesting to see where they go. Maybe buying it? This could get really hot.

I'm glad the Main Event was your usual, because that thing was hot. The Sandman coming in kind of confused me for a moment, but it was exciting. I am wondering if Styles is right and he's softening the competition, or if he's going to be throwing his name in the hat for the world title soon. Lynn entering was another great part of the match. It was wild, Rhino looked good, Credible and Rhino was hinted toward, Kash had a few good spots, especially the Dead Level, and RVD had a fantastic showing at the end. I like the Kash/RVD team and I'm looking forward to seeing more, hopefully Kash doesn't get killed before then.

All in all, a decent show that I could see was a little off your usual, but I liked it nonetheless. It advanced a couple stories and overall highlighted the tag tournament and title pictures very well.

Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

Thanks for the feedback, Jaywhy. Much appreciated. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed this as much as I have writing it so far.

I didn't open this show with chaos for a change but it wasn't supposed to be confusing, it was just a standard opening to a wrestling show, with the commentators hyping the main event.

The Rhino "I love you, man" line was just used to add an interesting dynamic to the Credible/Rhino partnership with the will he, won't he join The Network stuff happening in the background. Even when I read it back now, I'm not sure it hit the mark.

    ECW Hardcore TV Preview

    26-08-2000

On August 18th, at an episode of ECW on TNN, we witnessed The Full Blooded Italians (Little Guido, Sal E. Graziano and Tony Mamaluke) do battle in a six man tag team match against Psicosis and The Unholy Alliance (Mikey Whipwreck and Yoshihiro Tajiri). Tajiri had beef with The FBI for a long period of time when they cost him a match against Justin Credible which would have seen him become the ECW Champion. Tajiri was looking at settling the beef on this night; however these hopes didn’t become a reality. Despite the best efforts from the trio, Psicosis didn’t fit in with The Unholy Alliance, and towards the end of the contest there were numerous miscommunications. Firstly, when both men were looking at beating Mamaluke, Psicosis ended up nailing Tajiri with a Heel Kick. Not long after, Mikey accidentally Clotheslined Psicosis, which leaves Psicosis down and out to eat the Kiss Of Death from Guide and take the defeat. All three men felt rather hard done by because of the way the loss went down, so to let out some frustration Psicosis and Tajiri have challenged each other to a match tonight. No feud, no pure hatred, just plenty of respect and two men who can wrestle better than just about anybody on the planet. This is a match that’s all about letting off steam yet one still has to wonder just who will come out on top?

We will also see an original ECW member take on a member of The Network on tonight’s show. The epitome of the opposite of what The Network stands for; Balls Mahoney will be in action against ‘The King Of Old School’ Steve Corino. Being a loyalist and a chair swinging advocate, Balls will be dead set on getting the win over Corino to stick up to the anti-hardcore Cyrus lead Network. On the other hand, Corino will be looking to prove that The Network’s methods are unbeatable, as well as looking to build some momentum for his Three Way Dance ECW Championship match against Justin Credible and Jerry Lynn which will air on the September 15th edition of ECW on TNN from the Hammerstein Ballroom.

Last week on ECW Hardcore TV, we finally saw CW Anderson and Tommy Dreamer go one on one. These two have been on a collision course since just over a month ago Anderson crossed a line that was even to extreme for Extreme Championship Wrestling. At a house show in Houston, Texas, Anderson decided to make an impact and get everybody to remember his name by attacking women’s wrestler Jazz, nearly decapitating her with a Clothesline, and then almost paralysing her with an Anderson Spinebuster through a table. Dreamer immediately charged from the back and chased Anderson away and ‘The Innovator of Violence’ has wanted a piece of Anderson since. The two were supposed to wrestle at ECW on TNN last week, but they began brawling before the show was even underway. In arguably the most explosive beginning to a program in ECW’s history, the two were at war. Team Me (Johnny Swinger and Simon Diamond) have had a friendship with Anderson recently and attempted to help him beat down Dreamer, only for Danny Doring and Roadkill to make the save. Due to the chaotic nature of the situation, the match was postponed until the next night on ECW Hardcore TV. The match was an eventful one which saw Anderson try and keep things clean and Dreamer attempt to turn it into a blood bath. As Tommy looked set to destroy CW with a lead pipe, Team Me interfered in the contest, spearing Dreamer to the mat. The numbers game began to take its toll, only for Jazz to slide into the ring, only to get heinously kicked in the face by Anderson. CW was able to get the win, however before the attack could continue, Doring and Roadkill ran down and helped Dreamer clean house. Naturally this issue is far from over so tonight we will see CW Anderson and Team Me open the show against Danny Doring, Roadkill and Tommy Dreamer in a six man tag team match. This match is not one to be missed considering the amount of explosive elements that are involved. Who knows what will happen next?

Please tune in to see all this as well as the ECW Champion Justin Credible and the ECW Television Champion Rhino who are both scheduled to be at the arena.

    Confirmed Matches:

    Psicosis vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri

Balls Mahoney vs. Steve Corino w/Jack Victory and Scotty Anton

CW Anderson and Team Me vs. Danny Doring, Roadkill and Tommy Dreamer

    ECW Hardcore TV

    August 26th, 2000

    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Quite surprisingly for an episode of Hardcore TV or ECW television in general, the show opens up with a recap video, highlighting a certain even which took place last night at ECW on TNN. The video shows Joey Styles and Joel Gertner standing together, defiantly, linked by their bond to Extreme Championship Wrestling. Styles and Gertner speak about how negotiations with The Network aren’t going to great and the chances are that pretty shortly ECW will be going off the air. ‘The Voice Of ECW’ Styles then goes off on a rampage, not caring about TNN or Cyrus, and he says the semi finals and finals will NOT be aired on ECW on TNN, but they will be aired next week on ECW Hardcore TV.

After the recap video, we cut to the standard opening video and theme song as “This Is Extreme” by Harry Slash and The Slashstones causes the Philly fans to rock out. As per usual, ‘The Voice Of ECW’ Joey Styles welcomes us to the show, and he apologises for perhaps hijacking a little too much television time last night, but he doesn’t apologise for telling the truth. Before Styles can get much hype out for tonight’s show, “Deepest Bluest” by LL Cool J pumps through the pa system as an arrogant looking CW Anderson makes his way to the ring. Whilst the fans boo the hell out of the woman beater, CW lowly saunters down the ramp, clearly feeling great after his victory over Tommy Dreamer last week. Once Anderson is inside the ring, “Simon Says” by Drain STH brings out Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger, collectively known as Team Me. Much like their partner, the two have rather smug looks on their faces however they actually do mouth off to the audience, seemingly enjoying the extra heat they are receiving for associating with CW. Once in the ring, the three teammates slap hands, eagerly awaiting their opponents. “Super Bon Bon” by Soul Coughing changes the mood of the arena as the Philly fans pop loudly for Danny Doring and Roadkill. The two get half way down the ramp, annoying the invitation from their opponents to step inside the ring early. “Man In The Box” by Alice In Chains gains the largest response of the night, and quite a margin as well, as the ever popular Tommy Dreamer steps through the curtain. Dreamer punches his chest through his ECW t-shirt, pumping himself up, before he, Doring and Roadkill all exchange looks... AND SPRINT TO THE RING!

    Match One
CW Anderson and Team Me vs. Danny Doring, Roadkill and Tommy Dreamer

How else do you expect an opening match to begin in this thread then with the norm? And by the norm, I mean utter chaos. The three faces slide into the ring and CW and Team Me immediately begin stomping all over their opponents and keeping them down. The fans immediately boo the hell out of what’s happening, but slowly the faces make their way to the feet, and the momentum of the brawl switches.

Doring, Roadkill and Dreamer now have the advantage as they hammer away on the opponents. It’s a wild brawl from all angles but the emotion coming out of Dreamer is at a crazy level as he swings wildly with rights and lefts. Tommy backs Anderson into the ropes... BEFORE CHARGING ACROSS THE RING AND DIVING AT ANDERSON WITH A CROSSBODY THAT SENDS BOTH MEN TUMBLING OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE FLOOR!

Doring and Roadkill continue to school Team Me inside the ring, but outside the ring is where the action is right now. The fans are marking out as Styles puts over how great it is to finally see Anderson get what he deserves. Dreamer scrambles to his feet, still full of anger as he drags Anderson up... and (thanks for the spot, Wolfy) SENDS CW ANDERSON CRASHING INTO THE CROWD BARRICADE WITH A HIP TOSS!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants echo from the pro ECW Philly crowd as Dreamer gets to his feet and lets puts his arms out, posing to the fans. Tommy then punches his fists together, testing the tape on them, before he mounts the stunned, possibly hurt Anderson... AND BEGINS BEATING THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF HIM WITH RIGHT HANDS TO CW’S UNPROTECTED SKULL!

Meanwhile, inside the ring the ever impressive Doring and Roadkill have taken down Diamond and have focused their attention on the lonely Johnny Swinger. Swinger has no means of defending himself, as the big Amish Roadkill puts him in a BEAR HUG... AND DORING BOUNCES OFF THE ROPES... LOOKING FOR THE LANCASTER LARIAT OF LUST... BUT DIAMONG CHOP BLOCKS AMISH... WHICH CAUSES HIM TO CRUMBLE TO THE CANVAS... AND DORING FLIES THROUGH THE AIR BEFORE LANDING AWKWARDLY ON THE CANVAS HIMSELF!

Diamond looks towards Swinger and begins dragging him up, “HURRY UP AND GET UP”! Swinger looks a little frustrated for a moment but shakes it off and gets to his feet. The two have a brief conversation before Simon grabs hold of Doring... AND LANDS A SNAP SUPLEX... FOLLOWED BY A SECOND SNAP SUPLEX... BACKED UP BY A NORTHERN LIGHTS SUPLEX, COMPLETING THE SIMON SERIES!

Realising Roadkill is starting to get up, Swinger charges at him and keeps him down with a Swinging Neckbreaker! From the outside of the ring, Tommy Dreamer has noticed that his teammates are struggling so he regrettably gets off of the beaten down Anderson. Dreamer GRABS A STEEL CHAIR... BEFORE GETTING ONTO THE RING APRON... ONLY FOR TEAM ME TO CHARGE AT HIM WITH REVERSE ELBOWS THAT SEND THE STEEL CHAIR BACK INTO HIS FACE... AND DREAMER CRASHES TO THE FLOOR!

There’s a buzz around the arena which quickly turns into a stunned silence as all that can be heard are screams of “AHHHHHHHH” from Dreamer. Tommy looks to have legitimately hurt himself as he clutches at his ankle seemingly having landed wrong. Team Me quickly step outside the ring and the merciless Swinger begins stomping all over Dreamer whilst Diamond helps the dazed Anderson to his feet.

Once Anderson is up and sees his rival in agony, a demented grin spreads across his face as he tells his partners, “LETS FINISH HIM”! Anderson directs traffic as Team Me place Dreamers sore ankle inside the steel chair... ANDERSON THEN STEPS UP ONTO THE RING APRON... AND JUMPS OFF... LANDING BOTH OF HIS FEET ON THE CHAIR, SNAPPING THE CHAIR INTO THE ANKLE OF TOMMY DREAMER!

Despite one of their most beloved being down and out, there are still the “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants. From here the match becomes pretty regular as the referee is finally able to gain some semblance of control. Anderson and Swinger get on the apron and Diamond slowly begins working over Doring. They keep the face down with generic tag team wrestling, scoring several near falls. The fans manage to stay pumped though with chants of “TOMMY”, “TOMMY”, “TOMMY” echoing throughout the arena when the gutsy ‘Innovator of Violence” somehow struggles his way back onto the apron.

Eventually it’s time to finish the match, so SWINGER LOOKS TO TAKE DOWN DORING WITH THE LONG ISLAND LEGSWEEP... BUT DORING IS ABLE TO GO BEHIND... AND LAND A FULL NELSON SLAM OUT OF NOWHERE!

AND HE THEN MAKES THE HOT TAG TO ROADKILL AS SWINGER TAGS IN DIAMOND!

Roadkill goes to town, mowing through Diamond with two Clothesline, followed by one to Swinger and one to Anderson. With all three heels in the ring, Amish realises he needs to land some big moves. After dropping Swinger with another Clothesline, HE DRILLS DIAMOND TO THE MAT WITH A DIRT ROAD SLAM!

The resilient Swinger is back up and he cops a Back Body Drop for his troubles. CW gets back up but steps away from Roadkill... AND CHARGES ACROSS THE RING, KNOCKING DREAMER OFF THE APRON WITH A CLOTHESLINE!

Dreamer lands in a similar position to where he did earlier in the night, right next to the steel chair. Roadkill yells at Anderson, “BRING IT” but Anderson shakes his head, and hops outside the ring, focusing again on Tommy Dreamer instead.

Inside the ring, Doring has recovered as Diamond tagged Swinger back in and together Doring and Roadkill beat down Team Me with a succession of double team moves.

On the outside Anderson laughs at Dreamer, who’s clutching onto the crowd barricade, trying his damndest to get to his feet. CW waits for Dreamer to stagger up before yelling “THIS IS IT, TOMMY” BUT OUT OF NOWHERE DREAMER KICKS HIM IN THE GUT... BEFORE DROPPING HIM WITH A DDT ON THE STEEL CHAIR!

The fans mark the fuck out as the “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out. Meanwhile inside the ring... Doring and Roadkill have thrown Diamond outside of the ring AND IT ALLOWS THEM TO LAND THE BUGGY BANG ON SWINGER! ROADKILL MAKES THE COVER...1...2...3!

Winners – Danny Doring, Roadkill and Tommy Dreamer @ 11:14

The fans pop as the bell rings with all three of the heels basically out of commission. The referee raises the hands of Doring and Roadkill and they celebrate, before drawing their attention to the outside of the ring where Tommy Dreamer is once again somehow standing.

Tommy has a severe limp as he applauds the effort of Roadkill and Doring, telling them “THIS IS YOUR MOMENT”!

Doring and Roadkill shake their heads and beg Tommy to get into the ring. As Dreamer struggles onto the apron and through the ropes...

“TOMMY”, “TOMMY”, “TOMMY” chants echo throughout from the fans...

And once Dreamer is in the ring, he gets in the middle of Roadkill and Doring and raises their hands into the air.

Philadelphia is happy, Tommy is happy, and Doring and Roadkill are happy as they signal that the ECW Tag Team Championships are coming to them... Which draws a rare smirk from Dreamer.

As the three continue to celebrate, we head to our first commercial break, the show well and truly starting on a high note.

    -COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Upon returning to the program we head backstage to a locker room where the ECW Champion Justin Credible sits with his girlfriend Francine, both in casual clothing. Both look rather unhappy and seem to be arguing with somebody and this soon becomes clear as the ECW Television Champion Rhino has just been brought into shot by the camera panning. Rhino is dressed to compete despite not having a match tonight, and they seem to be in the middle of quite the heated debate until Credible notices the camera man and speaks up.

Justin Credible: AS I WAS SAYING... regardless of the slight slip up last night, I, the ECW Champion, am just incredible.

Credible puts on a smile for the camera as does Francine, however the intense Rhino shakes his head.

    Rhino: BIG... FUCKING... DEAL!!!

Credible and his girlfriend look shocked at the response... WHILST RHINO PICKS UP A CHAIR AND TOSSES IT INTO A WALL, CAUSING A MASSIVE CRACK!

Rhino then storms off and the ECW Champion shakes his head in shock.

Justin Credible: This is fucking ridiculous, I shouldn’t have to take this...

Francine nods in agreement, looking slightly pissed off.

    Francine: Maybe you don’t...

Francine looks over her shoulder to make sure Rhino is still down. She then gets right into the face of Credible...

Francine: Maybe you should think about that...

Justin remains looking down at his feet, thinking of what his next move will be. Francine shakes her head in frustration and walks away, leaving the champion with some serious thinking to do...

    ...

After that segment we head back to ringside as the restless ECW fans wait for somebody to appear. Within another moment or two, “Big Balls” by Boner brings out a pretty LOUD pop as long time ECW fan favourite Balls Mahoney walks down the ramp. The fans already begin the “BALLS”, “BALLS”, “BALLS” chants as he steps into the ring rubbing his hands together, ready to inflict pain on another unfortunate foe. “The Old School Style” by Boner is next to be heard and HEAT engulfs the entire arena, hell, the entire state of Philadelphia as ‘The King Of Old School’ Steve Corino steps through the curtain. Corino walks half way down the ramp before looking at Balls smirking, “YA’ DIDN’T THINK I’D COME ALONE DID YA’?” Corino then points back to the entrance way and his fellow Network members Jack Victory and Scotty Anton step out to even more heat from the fans. Once the trio make it to the ring, they discuss a little bit of strategy before Victory and Anton separate around the ring, and Corino steps inside the squared circle.

    Match Two
Balls Mahoney vs. Steve Corino w/Jack Victory and Scotty Anton

The beginning of the match isn’t the standard ECW affair due to the fact that if your name isn’t Rhino and you’re a member of The Network, you tend to try and keep things as non Hardcore as possible. That’s exactly what happens here, as Corino tries to chain wrestle with Balls in the early going, until Balls drops him with a stinging right hand. Rather than get frustrated or get up and fight, Corino decides his best method of attack will be to frustrate, so he rolls to the outside.

Whilst Corino is having a meeting with Victory and Anton on the outside, Balls steps out and begins chasing them around the ring. Corino uses these tactics before he’s finally able to slide in the ring and then jump on the attack when Mahoney slides in after him. From here, Corino uses basic brawling tactics to keep Balls down, and every time Balls looks set to gain any kind of momentum, it’s taken away by Corino’s skill, or Victory and Anton’s interference.

The action isn’t exactly Hardcore for Corino but he is able to land quite a few near falls. Eventually Corino waits for Balls to get up, stalking his opponent as he looks to his flunkies on the outside and says “WATCH THIS”! Once Balls is to his feet... CORINO GOES FOR THE OLD SCHOOL KICK... BALLS DUCKS... AND DROPS CORINO WITH A CLOTHESLINE!

Steve bounces right back to his feet... AND CHARGES STRAIGHT INTO A SUPERKICK FROM BALLS! BALLS MAKES THE COVER...1...2...NO!

Anton and Victory almost have a fit on the outside as the fans realise just how close Balls was to picking up the victory. Considering the beating he’s taken throughout the contest, Balls doesn’t exactly get up a hell of a lot quicker than Corino and when they get up they trade right hands. Corino gets the advantage after a rake of the eyes... BUT BALLS STILL FIGHTS BACK... LANDING THE MAHONEY COMBO!

The audience mark out for their participating in the combo as Balls then whips Corino into the ropes... AND DRILLS HIM WITH A SPINEBUSTER WHEN HE COMES BACK!!!

Rather than going for a cover, Balls heads to the top rope... sets himself... AND MUCH TO THE DELIGHT OF THE CROWD HE COMES OFF AND LANDS THE NEW JERSEY JAM!!! BALLS HOOKS THE LEG...1...2...3!NO!

Mahoney runs his hands through his hair, a little frustrated this time as Corino shows that deep down he does have some resilience. Mahoney rolls Corino onto his stomach... AND LOOKS SET TO LOCK IN THE CAMEL CLUTCH... WHEN BOTH JACK VICTORY AND SCOTTY ANTON JUMP ONTO THE RING APRON DISTRACTING MAHONEY!

Showing incredible quickness and agility for somebody his size, Balls quickly leaps over Corino... RUNS AS FAST AS HE CAN... AND BOUNCES OFF THE ROPES AND THE MOMENTUM CAUSES VICTORY AND ANTON TO BOTH GO CRASHING TO THE FLOOR!

The fans mark out for that one as Balls now heads outside the ring, rearranges some furniture... AND GRABS A STEEL CHAIR!!!

Ignoring the two Network members who are down on the outside, Balls slides back inside the ring... stalks his prey... and when Corino gets up... MAHONEY DAMN NEAR KNOCKS HIS HEAD OFF WITH A BRUTAL STEEL CHAIR! BALLS WITH THE LATERAL PRESS...1...2...3!!!

    ...

NO! CORINO JUST MANAGED TO GET A FOOT ONTO THE BOTTOM ROPE!

Balls and the fans can’t believe it as Joey Styles puts over the ring presence of ‘The King Of Old School’ to be able to do that after the chair shot he just received. The “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants begin as a close up of the downed Corino shows that he has been BUSTED OPEN! The blood is just leaking like a bad tap, soaking all throughout his peroxide blonde hair, as Balls yells out to the fans “I GUESS I’LL JUST HAVE TO HIT HIM AGAIN!”

The chants revert to “BALLS”, “BALLS”, “BALLS” as Mahoney stands with a spread legged stance, as if he was a baseball player stepping up to the plate. He waits for Corino to stagger up... AND HE SMASHES HIM WITH THE SAME STEEL CHAIR AGAIN!

Heat echoes throughout the arena this time as before Balls can capitalize, he’s ATTACKED FROM BEHIND BY VICTORY AND ANTON!

The dynamic duo begins hammering away with right hands, before Anton puts Balls in a Full Nelson and tells Victory to hit Balls harder. VICTORY STEPS BACK... CHARGES FOR MOMENTUM AND SWINGS A PUNCH... BUT BALLS BREAKS FREE AND DUCKS... AND VICTORY KNOCKS ANTON OFF OF HIS FEET!

Anton drops and a shocked Victory turns around, only to be Clotheslined by Balls. Balls then picks up his steel chair... AND SMASHES IT ACROSS THE FACE OF SCOTTY ANTON!!! BEFORE TURNING AROUND... AND LITERALLY BREAKING THE FUCKING CHAIR OVER THE HEAD OF JACK VICTORY!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out once again, as Balls drops the broken steel chair and looks down at Corino who still hasn’t received from the beating he’s received. Balls picks up a broken Corino off of the canvas... AND SENDS HIM BACK DOWN AFTER NAILING HIS FINISHER, THE NUTCRACKER SUITE!!!

But before he can make the cover...HE’S CLUBBED FROM BEHIND BY PIERRE CARL OULETTE!!!

Heat rings out as Styles brings up the brawl these two got into backstage on the August 4th edition of ECW On TNN. It seems as if PCO has waited until now to retaliate. And retaliate he does, as he lands some brutal kidney punches from behind which causes Balls to fall to the canvas. Pierre then picks up his own steel chair that he brought into the ring... AND HE GIVES BALLS A TASTE OF HIS OWN MEDICINE, LANDING A BRUTAL CHAIR SHOT TO THE SKULL!

Boos continue to echo throughout the arena but it doesn’t matter, as a fuming PCO now brings a nearly dead Mahoney back to his feet... JUST TO CHARGE BACK THROUGH HIM WITH A LARIAT!

With Balls now not moving, PCO heads to the top rope... AND CRUSHES HIS RIVAL WITH LE CANNONBALL!!!

The audience begin throwing all kinds of shit and abuse at PCO, as he steps outside of the ring and begins backing his way up the ramp...

Meanwhile, inside the ring, a still out of it Corino MANAGES TO PLACE AN ARM OVER THE CHEST OF MAHONEY...1...2...3!!!

    Winner – Steve Corino @ 09:50

The referee calls for the bell as the fans boo the hell out of a result. The official isn’t even able to do the traditional hand raise for Corino, as ‘The King Of Old School’ still hasn’t moved a muscle since the three count.

Jack Victory and Scotty Anton, despite both being a little wobbly on their feet, have recovered and they drag Corino out of the ring and take him up the ramp.

Philadelphia is giving the trio an extremely hard time, but it soon turns to a pop as Balls Mahoney makes his way to his feet inside the ring.

Balls almost falls out of the ring but he somehow manages to maintain his footing, getting some respectful applause as he heads up the ramp...

    ...

Whilst all eyes were focused on Balls, Joey Styles has stepped into the ring and is waiting to make an announcement.

Joey Styles: Ladies and gentleman, I am proud to announce the date that everybody will get to see ECW Champion Justin Credible defend his ECW Championship against the number one contender Jerry Lynn and Network member Steve Corino. The date will be September 15th at ECW on TNN. In the meantime, ECW officials have put together this video to show just what events have lead up to this contest...

Styles points towards the big (small really) screen and a video package begins...

    ***

The video highlights how all three men have all had a little to do with each other in some way. The ECW Champion Justin Credible and Jerry Lynn have had their beef due to Lynn being the number one contender.

Jerry Lynn has issues with The Network as they didn’t want him to be the number one contender. When he rejected the idea of joining The Network, a ten thousand dollar bounty was placed on his head which still remains to this day. Steve Corino was the member of The Network who announced the bounty and he’s been quite vocal about his disdain for Jerry Lynn.

The ECW Champion Justin Credible also has an interesting relationship with The Network. The Network has given Credible time to work out whether he wants to be in The Network or not, and at this point Credible is yet to answer. There have been moments where he looks set to join, and moments where he and Network member Rhino have almost come to blows. Cyrus has admitted that he has pulled some strings to ensure Credible has snuck through some of his more difficult title defences. Cyrus has also said that if Credible doesn’t join The Network, Steve Corino is his chosen champion.

Styles still remains standing in the ring, as the fans pop eagerly anticipating the next scheduled ECW Championship match.

Joey Styles: Three weeks away, three men, three different stories, but there’s only one ECW Championship. There can be only one winner. Tune in to ECW On TNN on September 15th to see just who will be the ECW Champion. Will be right back, folks.

‘The Voice Of ECW’ is the ultimate professional regarding TNN tonight, possibly having been told off after last night’s escapades. Either way, the fans cheer quite loudly for Styles’ hype job as we head to a commercial break.

    -COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Once we return from the commercial break, Joey Styles is back in the ring, this time a more defiant look on his face, which resembles his attitude last night.

Joey Styles: Sorry ladies and gentleman, I’ll try not to take up to much air time here, but there’s something I have to get off my chest. A few moments ago I was in this ring and I wasn’t Joey Styles, I wasn’t the voice of ECW, I was a corporate puppet. I was told to come out here and sell the ECW Championship match for in a couple of week’s time, and under no circumstances was I to go off on a “tirade” like I did last night. Well, SCREW THAT! I’m out here for two reasons, the first is to announce that on the September eight edition of ECW On TNN, Rhino will defend his ECW Television Championship against the man he’s now cost the ECW Championship twice, Kid Kash. Unfortunately we don’t have a choice, and that will be aired on TNN. But I stand by what I said last night when it comes to TNN. The Network has done absolutely nothing in terms of hype for this company and we will be better off without them. That’s why, just like I said last night, we’ll air the Quarter Finals of the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament on TNN next week, but for the semi finals and finals, TUNE IN TO HARDCORE TV! Because we don’t want the GREATEST moment in tag team wrestling to air on TNN, they don’t deserve it!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants are mixed in with chants of “FUCK THE NETWORK”, “FUCK THE NETWORK”, “FUCK THE NETWORK”

As the chants echo out, Styles raises his arms into the air in triumph and pride, before stepping outside the ring...

And one last time we are shown the tag team tournament brackets...

“Christian York and Joey Matthews vs. EZ Money and Julio Dinero

The FBI vs. The Unholy Alliance

Jerry Lynn and Tommy Dreamer vs. Kid Kash and Rob Van Dam

Chilly Willy and The Sandman vs. Justin Credible and Rhino

Chris Chetti and Nova vs. Team Me

Da Baldies vs. Danny Doring and Roadkill

    ...

As things begin to settle back to normal, the audience begins to realise that it is main event time. “Battery” by Metallica riffs throughout the arena bringing out Psicosis to an okay ovation from the Philadelphia crowd. The Mexican Luchador tries to get the crowd ovation louder, jumping around as he makes his way to the ring. It’s probably worth noting that Psicosis hasn’t really done anything wrong, it’s just he’s up against an absolute crowd favourite tonight. Once Psicosis is in the ring and has finished playing to the fans, “T.I.W.” by Harry Slash and The Slashstones causes the fans to amp it up to another level, for what’s probably the second loudest ovation of the night behind Tommy Dreamer for Yoshihiro Tajiri. The fans continue to cheer as Tajiri looks all business whilst Styles puts over the fact that he felt he could do this alone, because Psicosis wouldn’t try anything underhanded.

    Match Three
    Psicosis vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri

Despite the miscommunication which took place a couple of weeks ago, these two have the upmost respect for each other, beginning the match with a sportsmanship filled handshake. This delights the ECW who applauds the effort, before both men begin circling the ring, looking quite cagey. For the opening few minutes of the match, we see the finest display of chain wrestling you will see. Both men have periods where they are holding their opponents down, clearly on top but neither can sustain a long term advantage.

The fans clap and cheer along every technically sound move ala the Malenko/Guerrero farewell match. The sportsmanship doesn’t last the entire contest in this one though, as about half way through the match, Psicosis gets frustrated with a hammer lock and elbows Tajiri in the face a couple of times. The Mexican then shakes out the tightness of his arm... BEFORE BEING DROPPED WITH A KICK TO THE HEAD BY THE NOW ANGRY TAJIRI... TAJIRI HOOKS THE LEG...1...2...NO!

‘The Japanese Buzzsaw’ gets back to his feet, knowing he’s still got plenty of work to do to put away his opponent. Tajiri slowly brings Psicosis to his feet, but Psicosis shrugs him off and rocks him with a few right hands. This is followed by a kick to the gut... AND PSICOSIS BRINGS TAJIRI UP FOR A POWERBOMB... BUT TAJIRI AMAZINGLY REVERSES INTO A FLIP OVER DDT!

Sensing this could be close to over, Tajiri crawls to make the cover but the weary Psicosis rolls himself out of the ring. The masked man was able to get out of dodge due to instinct, as it’s clear he’s not sure where he is as he lands straight onto the floor. Tajiri heads out after Psicosis and begins hammering him with some basic stomps and punches, ground and pound at its finest. Tajiri then finds a wooden table and sets it up on the outside of the ring.

He turns back to Psicosis who’s staggering around, but Tajiri plants him with a few more right hands before placing him onto the table... With his opponent placed exactly where he needs him to be, Tajiri jumps onto the ring apron... BEFORE COMING OFF WITH A SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT... LANDING ON PSICOSIS AND SENDING HIM CRASHING THROUGH THE TABLE!

Oh yes, you guessed it. “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out after the awesome table spot. Both men remain down in the remains for awhile with the referee checking on them, until Tajiri begins showing some signs of life. Tajiri eventually battles to his feet, clutching his mid section feeling some pain, before he begins heaving the dead weight of Psicosis up. He rolls Psicosis into the ring, BEFORE FOLLOWING IN AND MAKING THE OVER...1...2...3! NO!

Psicosis shows a tremendous amount of resilience being able to get out of that one. Tajiri continues on his attack though, sending Psicosis into the corner and landing brutal kicks to the ribs. Tajiri then looks to Irish whip Psicosis into the ropes, but Psicosis reverses sending Tajiri into the ropes instead... HOWEVER TAJIRI COMES BACK WITH A HANDSPRING BACK ELBOW!

Rather than making the cover, Tajiri curiously heads to the outside of the ring. A fan offers him a toaster to use as a weapon but Tajiri ignores it, instead getting under the ring and pulling out a ladder! As with a lot of the smaller guys, Tajiri struggles to move the ladder around a little bit, but he eventually manages to get it inside the ring. Once back in the ring himself, the man from the land of the rising sun sets up the ladder, beginning to climb whilst Psicosis remains down.

The fans begin to buzz in anticipation, however as Tajiri is close to the top... Psicosis begins climbing up the other side of the ladder. To slow his opponent down, Psicosis lands a few cheeky punches to the stomach, and eventually he gets to Tajiri’s level. Tajiri will do anything to win now though, using his flexibility to kick Psicosis in the head.

The dazed Mexican just clings onto the ladder and in this moment of weakness, Tajiri pounces... LOCKING IN THE TARANTULA ON THE TOP OF THE LADDER!

Tajiri rips and tears at the hold for a sold ten seconds before he carefully lets go, not wanting to fall off the ladder. Tajiri manages to climb down the ladder... HOWEVER A COMPLETELY DRAINED PSICOSIS FALLS OFF THE LADDER AND TO THE CANVAS!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out as Tajiri waits for Psicosis to begin to get up... and when he does... TAJIRI GOES FOR TH BUZZSAW KICKS... BUT PSICOSIS DUCKS! Tajiri gets frustrated and drags Psicosis up by his hair, NOW GOING FOR A BRAINBUSTER... PSICOSIS LANDS BEHIND ON HIS FEET... AND LANDS A SPINNING HEEL KICK TO THE BACK OF TAJIRI’S HEAD!

The fans can’t help but applaud the guts of Psicosis to manage to stay in this match. With that being said, he doesn’t exactly bounce to his feet, instead slowly fighting to get back up taking quite a long time. Once he’s up though, he drags Tajiri to his feet and drops him with a DDT, before making a cover...1...2...NO!

Psicosis repeats this action, dropping Tajiri with another DDT before he sets his eyes on the still erect ladder. Psicosis climbs to the top of the ladder, the fans buzzing again... PSICOSIS CROSSES HIMSELF AT THE TOP OF THE LADDER... BEFORE COMING OFF THE LADDER WITH A HUGE SPLASH!!!

PSICOSIS STAYS ON TOP OF TAJIRI FOR THE COVER...1...2...3! NO!

Tajiri just manages to shoot a shoulder off of the canvas. The “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out again as the sore Psicosis waits for Tajiri to get to his feet. Once Tajiri is up... PSICOSIS LEAPS UP FOR A HURRICANRANA... TAJIRI REVERSES INTO A SIT OUT POWERBOMB!

‘The Japanese Buzzsaw’ now has his second wind as he quickly gets up, dragging Psicosis by the hair to his feet as well. TAJIRI GETS PSICOSIS UP FOR THE BRAINBUSTER... BUT PSICOSIS STRUGGLES IN MID AIR... AND IS ABLE TO LAND SOLID WITH HIS TWO FEET ON THE RING APRON!!! PSICOSIS IS THEN ABLE TO LIFT TAJIRI UP AND SUPLEX HIM OUTSIDE THE RING AND TO THE FLOOR!

Surprisingly Tajiri is pretty quick to his feet... SO PSICOSIS LEAPS OFF OF THE APRON, CONNECTING WITH A DIVING HURRICANRANA!

Realising he can’t pin Tajiri on the outside of the ring, it’s now Psicosis’ turn to lift the dead weight of Tajiri and slowly rolls him back into the ring. With Tajiri down and out, Psicosis heads to the top rope... AND COMES OFF PERFECTLY LANDING HIS PSYCHO GUILLOTINE! PSICOSIS HOOKS THE LEG...1...2..3!

    ...

NO! TAJIRI JUST GETS A SHOULDER UP AGAIN!

Psicosis runs his hands through his hair, not believing that Tajiri just kicked out of one of his biggest moves. Psicosis stands still for a moment, probably thinking of what to do next, before he heads towards Tajiri, but Tajiri lands a quick desperation Arm Drag out of nowhere. Out of instinct, Psicosis rolls straight off of his back and onto his knees, AND THE LIGHTNING QUICK TAJIRI CATCHES HIM WITH A BUZZSAW KICK! TAJIRI HOOKS THE LEG...1...2...3!

    ...

NO! THIS TIME PSICOSIS SURVIVES TAJIRI’S FINISHER WITH A SHOULDER OFF OF THE CANVAS!

The fans are legitimately just cheering, enjoying what has been a monumental match to end the night. Tajiri shakes his head in shock, before setting himself and when Psicosis looks to get up... TAJIRI FLATTENS HIM WITH A SECOND BUZZSAW KICK!

Still not satisfied, Tajiri aggressively waits for Psicosis to begin to stir again... BEFORE TAKING HIM OUT WITH A RUNNING BASEMENT DROPKICK! TAJIRI NOW HOOKS THE LEG... TIGHTLY...1...2...3!

    Winner – Yoshihiro Tajiri @ 15:29

There’s a big time pop for the ending of the match and Tajiri makes his way to his feet, a huge smile on his face despite the odd grimace here and there.

The referee raises his hand and the fans continue to cheer...

Even once Tajiri has stopped celebrating and begins helping Psicosis to his feet, the fans all give the two a STANDING OVATION!

Even Joey Styles is standing, knowing this truly was a match for the ages.

As the two friends then competitors now friends again stand arm in arm in the middle of the ring, the Philly faithful continue to stand and applaud as we fade to black...

Wild opening match. It's very expected for an ECW show. Justin Credible has a lot to consider though I'm not sure he's going to join the network. Joey Styles shoot promo is great. I wonder how the network will handle that one. The main event was spectacular.

Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

    ECW Thoughts

Definitely a wild opener as Gambit said above. My only point is, even though I know this is ECW, I'm surprised that Dreamer is even able to get up after the ankle in the chair moment. That should be a broken frickin' ankle right there. Regardless Roadkill and Doring with a big win over Team Me and I'm definitely looking forward to the Tag Tournament getting up and running.

Steve Corino is supposed to be The Network's hand picked champion. But the guy can't even beat Balls Mahoney without three guys helping him. Pffttt. In an ideal world I hope that Credible 'joins' The Network only for it to all be a ruse to help him retain his title in the three way dance.

Joey Styles going off!!! I'm loving this bad ass Styles not taking any shit from The Network or TNN. As for the tag tournament I can't wait to see Dreamer and Lynn vs Van Dam and Kash. That is going to be the best match of the whole tournament in my opinion.

Finally a great win for Tajiri in the main event. I really think that The Japanese Buzzsaw is going to be a breakout star in this project and ECW. With guys like Dreamer, Van Dam, Lynn, Rhino etc you know how good they are and will be but with Tajiri he was never really that huge star that his talent could have grasped. Hopefully he gets that chance to shine in the future. Right now I'm really loving The Unholy Alliance, my favourite part of your work so far.

Overall another great show to get us closer to the big event. Credible's decison, the start of the tag tournament and TNN vs Joey Styles are all high on the lsit of things I'm looking forward to. Keep up the great work.

Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

Alright, starting off hot with one of the best feuds going, I can dig it. The ankle spot is always so terrifying to me because of my family's weak ankles, and it was no different here. I immediately despised Anderson more than before. The end felt a little off with the tag to Swinger being worthless in a sense other than to have him eat the pin, but that DDT spot is fantastic and the post match celebration is a superb feel good spot that makes me worried to read on because of what could be getting set up for later.

I find the relationship between Credible and Francine to be a great subtle storyline you've had going. She doesn't seem that happy, and she's edging him to refuse The Network. I have a feeling he's not joining them, but I also have a feeling Francine is going to have a hand in what happens next if he doesn't. It's such a fascinating story. Rhino's intensity is awesome, and I keep getting nudged closer and closer to cheering for Credible honestly.

So I'm conflicted on this Balls/Corino match. On one hand, I love it because to me it's similar to a match I booked and how I did it, you gave Balls a couple very visible nearfalls on someone much higher on the card, he fought through a lot of interference, he gets a big boost from this. I also think The Network flexing their muscle as a tandem unit is usually great, and this added a big spotlight on a midcard feud by having everyone paying attention for a main eventer then drawing in the midcard feud.

However, like Sykotic said, I'm not sure how this does for Corino. He looks like a dick by using The Network to get him the win, but he also looks a little weak because it took one superkick and from then on he couldn't move and got destroyed. I think at the end he should've at least gotten up, show that resilence and that he's still better. Though this does make Balls looks badass, and helps to push a feud between him and PCO. So overall, a very good match that just left me a little concerned about Corino's toughness and ability. I do think this added a lot to the midcard, which I appreciate A TON and it makes me really excited for PCO versus Balls.

I like the video for the main feud to get some new readers up to speed. Good placement for it since we're getting closer to the match and things are picking up more anyway. I do wish there was more Cyrus honestly, such a good promo. But the video is a good move.

The Styles shoot promo is awesome, and I wonder if it's building something with The Network. Hyping up that it's "unfortunate" that things will be shown on The Network. I wonder if maybe The Network will do something in the final few shows to disrupt it, make it truly unfortunate? I'm really, really excited for the TV Title match, you know I like Kid Kash and Rhino has been awesome. This is going to be a great match. And you know my love for Tag Teams, so the Tournament has been teasing me for a while, just waiting for it to finally happen. Now that it's right around the corner, I'm like a kid on christmas. I'm sure you'll do fantastic with it, and I can't wait.

So that table spot is awesome, I like that the tension was building between them and then it just exploded. I burst out laughing when a fan offered a damn toaster. Like, really? That was great.

The match as a whole was incredible. Good spots, the comeback for both men. The tarantula spot was incredible, and I'd absolutely love it, and needing two buzzsaw kicks and a basement dropkick really makes Psicosis seem strong here. I really enjoyed the spots and the booking of this match. It helps the midcard, it helps the tag tournament a bit with the Unholy Alliance, and it just was an all out badass match. Great match, great show.

I'm so excited for the announced matches coming up and that tournament, so I really can't wait for what comes next with some of this.

Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

Thanks for all of the feedback, it's much appreciated. Dreamer somehow struggled through the match however this post (which was always planned) kind of shows why the ankle in the chair spot was in the match.

As for Corino looking weak, this is vintage Corino. He'd look like he would almost lose to EVERYBODY, only to usually get help. I don't think there is really any harm done, especially at this stage of his character journey.

News and notes post to push through Easter weekend.

Issues With TNN Causes Huge Restructure To September 1st Edition Of ECW On TNN

It is common knowledge throughout the wrestling industry that TNN are not even slightly interested in renewing their deal with Extreme Championship Wrestling. It is also common knowledge that TNN are currently in discussions with Vince McMahon and the World Wrestling Federation about bringing Raw is War over to The Nashville Network. Paul Heyman and the rest of ECW are said to be furious with the treatment they’ve had throughout their relationship with TNN, regarding no advertisements or anything. On screen play by play commentator Joey Styles over the last week of programming has been taking pot shots at TNN. Whilst this is an on screen character, it’s quite obvious this is Paul Heyman sending direct messages to The Network. Reports are stating that ECW had somehow managed to come to an agreement with TNN to have an extra thirty minuted added to their time slot for the September 1st edition of ECW On TNN. This would allow them to be able to air all six Quarter Final matches for the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament that has been promoted to no end over the past two months. With ECW now taking pot shots at TNN on air and refusing to air the semi finals and finals of the tournament on TNN, TNN have decided to strike back. They have revoked the extra thirty minute time slot and ECW are at the last minute looking at how to fit six matches into a one hour program. At this point in time there is no update as to how ECW are planning to make this happen.

    New Set For ECW

With their television deal set to come to an end soon, ECW are looking at new ways to attract more fans and make some extra dollars. It’s being reported that ECW have come to an agreement with a local New York City bar about filming some segments for television there. ECW will invite fans to the bar, charge them a slight entry fee and allow them to get photos and autographs with the wrestlers once filming is finished. Our sources are telling us that the bar will be reserved for ECW once a month and they will film a whole months worth of segments in that one night. Some sceptics say that this may not last long as due to the live audience Paul Heyman won’t be able to force each segment to be taped fifty times, but all reports say he is open to giving the idea a try.

    No Love For Anarchy Rulz

We are exactly one month away from ECW’s next PPV offering titled Anarchy Rulz. Despite the months of programming they’ve had to start building the PPV, no matches are currently announced for the show. We were recently contacted by an ECW representative when we asked if this would be the best way to build up what could potentially be the last PPV ECW ever produces. The ECW representative assured us that they are very confident with the direction their spontaneous, anything can happen style program is heading, and that even though no matches are currently set in stone, they are already being built up. With that being said, the representative said we could expect to see some matches set in stone very shortly. On the note of this being the final PPV offering of ECW due to them losing their television deal with TNN, the representative is still extremely confident ECW can come to terms with the PPV broadcasters.

The Smashing Pumpkins Star Set To Reappear

Billy Corgan who is the lead singer of The Smashing Pumpkins made an appearance at ECW On TNN back on July 28th, 2000. During this appearance Joey Styles brought out Corgan who was set to a sing a song, only to be interrupted by Lou E. Dangerously. Lou E. had his Network buddies with him and was quick to insult Corgan and run down his musical talent and sales, until Corgan smashes his own guitar over Dangerously’s head. Before The Network could attack Corgan, Jerry Lynn and Tommy Dreamer were quick to make the save. Lou E. had challenged Corgan to show up to the August 25th/26th weekend tapings in Manhattan and we can confirm Corgan has taken part. Originally Corgan was only supposed to make a one off appearance, but due to enjoying himself so much he wanted to come back. Our sources say they’re not completely sure what Corgan’s participation will entail but it’s safe to say he will be dealing with Lou E. Dangerously and The Network.

    Tommy Dreamer Injured

ECW has been sitting on an injury to Tommy Dreamer’s ankle for the last couple of weeks. The injury took place during the six man tag team match which aired on the August 26th edition of ECW Hardcore TV. The match pitted Tommy Dreamer teaming with Danny Doring and Roadkill up against Dreamer’s current heated rival CW Anderson and Team Me. Tommy Dreamer was knocked on the apron and he landed rather severely on his left ankle. The actual details of the injury are unknown but we are being told it is definitely not an angle, and Dreamer will need some time off. The word coming from ECW is that after the landing, the wrestlers involved improvised to further damage the ankle, ensuring there’s heat on CW Anderson whenever Dreamer can step inside the ring again. Thankfully, the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament is already taped, but after that, the chances are we won’t see Dreamer in a wrestling capacity for awhile.

Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

I see. I never really knew Corino's character, I haven't seen him ever honestly. I never watched ECW or anything (I was very young at the time) and so this is my gateway to understanding and learning. Good to know for future reference.

Oh no! I'm very upset with TNN cutting time for the tag tournament, with how hot the first round seemed, it's awful that it won't be as fulfilling with the time constraints. I'm assuming it'll be back-to-back matches the whole show to fit them in. I was also curious of if you had PPVs, since you hadn't mentioned or built it specifically yet, but I can see some of what you've been building up being towards it and so I can see some subtle signs of what's to come. Assuming some Credible/Rhino action or something along those lines. I am curious of something, though, how The Network will be now with ECW being off TNN soon. If there is no Network, what will The Network do?

Also, just saying, I knew that chair spot was dangerous and horrifying. And of course it's Tommy Dreamer out, that just sucks.

    ECW On TNN Preview

    01-09-2000

    New York City, New York

Tonight’s episode of ECW On TNN is about one thing and one thing only, the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament. Every fan of tag team wrestling and ECW in general has been waiting for this highly anticipated event, and tonight it’s finally here. We will see all six Quarterfinal matches take place tonight and the semi finals and Three Way Dance final will take place tomorrow night on ECW Hardcore TV. The main event of the evening will be the Quarter Final featuring four absolute crowd favourites as the number one contender Jerry Lynn and Tommy Dreamer will face Kid Kash and Rob Van Dam. Lynn and RVD have quite the problem riddled past and the two almost came to blows at the opening of last week’s ECW On TNN, after RVD had been part of the cavalry saving Lynn from a beating at the hands of The Network. The during the nights main event, RVD actually nailed Lynn, who was preventing The Network from costing Van Dam a match, with the Van Terminator. Sparks are to fly when these two natural enemies do battle once again, each with a more than capable partner by their side.

Back on the July 28th edition of ECW On TNN, Rhino quite easily retained his ECW Television Championship, defeating Chilly Willy in the opening contest of the night. After the match the sadistic champion Rhino looked set to land his devastating Piledriver through the table, however The Sandman made the save. The Sandman used his Singapore Cane to soften up Rhino and he ended up sending the champion through the table. From that moment onwards, Cyrus, Rhino and the rest of The Network have had it in for The Sandman. Cyrus then announced on the August 4th edition of ECW On TNN that The Sandman’s partner for the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament will be the somewhat under qualified Chilly Willy. This was supposed to be a punishment to The Sandman but he has made the most of the situation with him and his partner defeating The FBI on the August 12th edition of ECW Hardcore TV. The Sandman has continued to be a thorn in the side of The Network up until this very moment, but he will he be able to overcome them again when he and Chilly Willy face the ECW Champion Justin Credible and the ECW Television Champion Rhino? Not only that but will Credible and Rhino be able to get along as the tension between the two continues to build as The Network put the pressure on Credible to join.

The other Quarter Final match that is fuelled by a personal vendetta will see Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke of The Full Blooded Italians taking on The Unholy Alliance, Mikey Whipwreck and Yoshihiro Tajiri. Whilst The Unholy Alliance has only formed over the past few weeks, Tajiri has had issues with The FBI for much longer. On the July 21st edition of ECW On TNN (first show in this thread), Tajiri had a shot at the ECW Championship against Justin Credible. Tajiri looked set to pick up the victory after crushing Credible through a table with a Body Splash but The FBI appeared. Tajiri battled hard against the Italians but eventually fell to a Big Splash from Sal E. Graziano which allowed Credible to land the That’s Incredible and retain the title. Hell bent on revenge, on the July 28th edition of ECW On TNN, Tajiri dropped Guido with a Roundhouse Kick which allowed Psicosis to defeat him. The next night on Hardcore TV Tajiri was able to defeat Tony Mamaluke in a one on one match only to succumb to the numbers game and a Kiss Of Death from Guido straight after the match. On the August 4th edition of ECW On TNN, after constant interference from his cronies, Little Guido was able to defeat Mikey Whipwreck. After the match The FBI looked to attack, but Tajiri made the save, clearing the ring and The Unholy Alliance was born. For a couple of weeks The Unholy Alliance looked great until The FBI once again got the upper hand on the August 18th edition of ECW On TNN. The FBI battled against The Unholy Alliance and Psicosis and due to some miscommunication with the opposition’s third team member, The FBI were able to get the win. On a level playing field, two on two, will this issue finally be resolved? Or will The FBI be able to use their third member to once again outsmart their opponents?

Please tune in to ECW On TNN to see all this and plenty more!

ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarter Final Match:

My predictions for this tournament are as follows.

Kash and RVD. I think they are a much better fit as a tag team and with Dreamer possibly out through injury I can see RVD/Kash winning as Lynn has a feud with The Network to be getting back to.

Credible and Rhino need to win here. I think that if they get far then it will be even better for Credible's rejection.

Hot Commodity, Doring/Roadkill and Team Me should be straight forward due to the pushes and exposure the teams are getting.

And The Unholy Alliance FTW!!! You know I'm a huge fan.

    Looking forward to it mate.

Re: Extreme Championship Wrestling by Stojy

Huge fan of ECW back in the day so it's good to see somebody doing one. I read you're last two posts and when I get more free time I'll be catching up on past shows. Just wanna say as a big fan back in the day, Steve Corinos character was definitely being the coward heel always getting his ass kicked but end up getting help for a win. I think during the very final days of ECW he was becoming more legitimate but yes most of my memories of Corino was him busted open getting his hand raised in victory.
I like how your addressing the problems between ECW and TNN and interested to see this ends as this was one of the final nail in the coffins for ecw. Good to see billy Corgan being involved as he could be used as someone to help back the company.
That's funny I'm also about to have a tag Team Tournament in my btb. Excited to see how your tag tournament gos down. Interesting tandems such as RVD and Kid Kash, I'm sure there's history as why they are partners but like I said before I need to read your pasts shows and this is making me more intrigued.
My pick to win would be the Unholy Alliance, I remember being a big fan back in the day of this team. Tajiri Whipwreck and sinister minister were great always thought they should of had bigger push. Also a fan of York and Matthews, I think they would of carried the tag division for awhile if ecw survived.

Best of luck in the future with this man, I'll be reading past and current shows and give you some feedback and thanks for dropping some comments on my btb.

    ECW On TNN

    01-09-2000

    New York City, New York

The show opens cold with ‘The Voice of ECW’ Joey Styles sitting behind a desk, straightening his tie and shuffling through some paper work at the same time.

Joey Styles: Good evening ladies and gentleman and welcome to Extreme Championship Wrestling on TNN. Firstly, I’d like to apologise for wasting a few moments of air time so early on in the show but I do have an announcement to make. I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but it’s safe to say everybody knows ECW has been having problems with this shoddy Network. After airing some grievances over the past week, this SHITTY, bush league Network has gone back on their word and not allowed us with an extra thirty minute time slot to adequately air all six ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarter Final matches. Whilst these awesome athletes have laid it all on the line, it’s with a heavy heart that I announce we are unable to air two of the matches in full tonight. What this means is that the final moments of these matches will be the only moments you get to see on air. Once again, I apologise for this travesty but rest assured, we will do all we can to put on the best show possible and continue to do so in the future, because WE DON’T NEED TNN in the land of the extreme!

After a vintage passionate speech, Styles adjusts his collar whilst dead panning the camera until we fade away...

    ...

And we cut straight to the final moments of the first ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarter final.

    ***

    Match One

ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarter Final Match

Christian York and Joey Matthews vs. Hot Commodity w/Chris Hamrick and Elektra

We pick up the action to see Christian York and Julio Dinero fighting on the outside of the ring, with York having to occasionally shrug off the feisty Elektra as well. Meanwhile inside the ring, EZ Money and Joey Matthews are both down, however Matthews crawls to the ropes to drag himself up... ONLY TO BE HIT WITH THE ROLL OF QUARTERS PUNCH BY CHRIS HAMRICK FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING!

With the damage being done, a dazed EZ MONEY CRAWLS OVER TO MATTHEWS AND HOOKS THE LEG...1...2...3!

    Winners – Hot Commodity

    ***

With the final moments of the first contest being out of the way, home viewers are treated to “This Is Extreme” by Harry Slash and The Slashstones. As the ECW theme plays, we get the usual opening video as well and the rowdy New York Hammerstein Ballroom crowd are all over the “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants early on tonight. Considering the time restraints on the show and the fact we already heard from Styles with his pre recorded comments, there’s no selling from the commentators. Instead, “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” by The Beastie Boys begins as does the EPIC HEAT from the fiery crowd as The Full Blooded Italians step through the curtain. Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke lead the way in their wrestling gear, whilst Sal E. Graziano takes up the rear in his leather jacket and overly large jeans. All three make their way out giving rude hand gestures to the fans, showing that they don’t respect anybody. “T.I.W.” by Harry Slash and The Slashtones rocks through the Ballroom next, and the mood in the arena completely changes. The pop is ENORMOUS as The Unholy Alliance makes their way from the back. Mikey Whipwreck and Yoshihiro Tajiri slap hands with the fans on their way to the ring, whilst The Sinister Minister seems to be giving them some last second tips. The loud mouth Italians are mouthing insults at their opponents but Mikey ignores them and Tajiri probably can’t understand them.

    Match Two
ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarter Final Match
The Full Blooded Italians w/Sal E. Graziano vs. The Unholy Alliance w/The Sinister Minister

With a lot to get through for the evening, and with the hatred involved in this one, this match is extremely fast paced. It’s also one of those matches where the referee rarely has control, and not many tags actually take place. Big Sal constantly gets involved in the match as well, but it gets to a point where The Unholy Alliance is able to control that. Tajiri is able to dispose of Guido which leaves him and his partner alone in the ring with Mamaluke (Sal has been dropped as well).

Sensing the opportunity to lay a big move and really finish this, The Sinister Minister barks instructions to his comrades “GET A TABLE, GET A TABLE”. The two are rather obedient as Tajiri continues to hammer away with his lethal kicks in the corner and Mikey heads outside of the ring and grabs a table.

Once he has the table back in the ring, he sets it up in the middle of the ring with the help of Tajiri to ensure it’s positioned correctly. ‘The Japanese Buzzsaw’ then nominates himself to do the damage, getting Mamaluke in a Front Facelock before lifting him up and placing him onto the top rope. Tajiri climbs up after Mamaluke... AND LOOKS FOR A SUPERPLEX... BUT MAMALUKE BLOCKS IT! IN AN INSTANT... TONY LANDS A FEW QUICK RIGHTS TO TAJIRI’S MID SECTION... BEFORE COMING OFF WITH A TORNADO DDT SENDING TAJIRI CRASHING THROUGH THE TABLE!

The pop is huge for another spot in what has been an absolute spot fest of a match so far. Those “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out as Mikey looks on in completely shock, not really knowing how to react after what’s occurred. Mamaluke isn’t exactly moving straight away either, and The Sinister Minister yells “GET HIM” which snaps Mikey out of his trance.

Whipwreck brings the battered Mamaluke to his feet and hammers away for Irish Whipping him into the ropes, but Mamaluke reverses, sending Mikey into the ropes. When Mikey hits the ropes, he doesn’t come back... AS HE GETS TRIPPED UP BY LITTLE GUIDO AND DRAGGED OUTSIDE OF THE RING!!!

MAMALUKE AUTOMATICALLY SEES THIS AS HIS CHANCE, HOOKING TAJIRI’S LEG...1...2...3!

NO! TAJIRI SOMEHOW GOT A SHOULDER OFF OF THE MAT!

On the outside of the ring, Guido and Big Sal are trying to get their hands on Mikey, who ducks, dodges and runs around the ring to avoid being cornered. With the larger Sal struggling to keep up, Mikey waits for Guido to catch him... AND HE TAKES GUIDO DOWN WITH A FRANKEN MIKEY ON THE OUTSIDE!

With the audience heavily behind him, Mikey now focuses his attention on Big Sal... FRANKEN MIKEY TO BIG SAL!!!NO! REVERSED INTO A POWERBOMB!

The air is taken out of Mikey and the crowd’s sails after that big time move from the aptly named Big Sal. Seeing that Guido is down, Tony Mamaluke decides to roll outside of the ring, ignoring the slowly recovering Tajiri completely. Mamaluke and Sal take turns holding Mikey’s hands behind his back whilst the other just tees off with brutal, closed fist shots.

Once Little Guido is back up, he yells at his partners, “LEMME’ TAKE CARE O’ THIS PUNK”! With the damage well and truly already being done... LITTLE GUIDO NAILS THE KISS OF DEATH TO MIKEY WHIPWRECK ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING!

As the three Italians admire their handy work on the outside, the heat from the audience turns into chants of “TAJIRI”, “TAJIRI”, “TAJIRI”. The trio laugh to themselves, only to turn around... AND TAJIRI COMES OFF OF THE TOP ROPE WITH A CROSSBODY... WHILST HOLDING A STEEL CHAIR CLOSE TO HIS CHEST ENSURING HE TAKES OUT THE FBI WITH THE STEEL CHAIR!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” can be heard throughout the entire city of New York after that one. All five men are down with this match truly being a few minutes of mayhem, as the only man standing, The Sinister Minister pleads with Mikey and Tajiri to make a move. Finally, Tajiri fights to one knee to see Big Sal back on his feet. The Japanese native looks set to move towards Sal... BUT LITTLE GUIDO CLUTCHES ONTO HIS ANKLE!

With Tajiri stuck, Sal is able to take him down with a sloppy looking Clothesline. Guido then gets back to his feet and he holds Tajiri by the arm against the crowd barricade... SAL THEN TAKES A FEW STEPS BACK AND CHARGES AT TAJIRI... ONLY FOR TAJIRI TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY AND PLACE GUIDO IN HIS PLACE... AND SAL SPLASHES GUIDO AGAINST THE CROWD BARRICADE!

Epic New York style pop as Sal looks on in shock... ONLY TO BE DROPPED WITH A KICK TO THE HEAD FROM TAJIRI!

As this was happening, Mikey had recovered and he has Mamaluke, who took most of the brunt of Tajiri’s chair shot back inside the ring. Mikey is able to bring Tony up to the top rope... BEFORE TAKING HIM DOWN WITH A SUPER WHIPPERSNAPPER!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out one last time for this one, as Mikey now holds the already defeated Mamaluke in position... AND TAJIRI TAKES HIS HEAD OFF WITH A BASEMENT DROPKICK! TAJIRI HOOKS THE LEG...1...2...3!

    Winners – The Unholy Alliance @ 06:20

The bell rings and as soon as their music plays, the bumps and bruises no longer matter. Tajiri and Mikey embrace in the ring before the referee gets in between them to raise their hands.

Once the formalities are out of the way, the referee disappears and The Sinister Minister gets into the ring and raises the hands of his colleagues...

The trio celebrate to the epic ovation from the New York crowd, as TSM now motions that the ECW Tag Team titles are coming to them.

The FBI remains out of it inside and outside the ring, as The Unholy Alliance continues to celebrate and we fade to commercials.

    -COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Upon returning from the break, we cut to a video package displaying the final moments of the second and last Quarter Final match we won’t be able to view in full tonight...

    ***

    Match Three

ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarter Final Match

Chris Chetti and Nova vs. Team Me

The final moments show Team Me dominating, working together effectively to dispose of Chetti outside the ring. With Chetti down and out, Nova does his best to put up a fight but the numbers game catches up to him. TEAM ME FINISH NOVA OFF WITH THE PROBLEM SOLVER... BEFORE DIAMOND MAKES A RELAXED COVER...1...2...3!

    Winners – Team Me

    ***

With the final moments having been completed, we cut to Joey Styles and his broadcast colleague Joel Gertner standing in the back, somewhat sombre looking.

Joey Styles: I hate to beat a dead horse, but one last time, I would like to apologise for the final moments of some of the Quarter Finals only being shown. I’d like to apologise to my boss, I’d like to apologise to ECW’s phenomenal athletes, and I’d like to apologise, most importantly, to all of you... Our fans.

Joey puts his head down and shakes his head a little. Being the awesome guy that he is, Gertner puts a consoling hand on Joey’s shoulder.

Joel Gertner: Joey, you need to stop beating yourself up. I’ve had an interesting journey throughout my time in ECW, and things constantly change but one thing always stays the same. No matter who’s champion, what’s happening, Joey you have never done anything except look out for this company’s best interests. You stuck up for Extreme Championship Wrestling, you showed pride in Extreme Championship Wrestling and that’s something that everybody should commend you for. This crap with The Network would have happened regardless...

The New York fans mark out a little, enjoying Gertner’s passionate speech. Joey nods his head in appreciation.

    Joey Styles: Thanks Joel...

Joel Gertner: Now can we stop being downers and move on to the good news?

Styles nods his head, repositioning himself and preparing to enter Joey Styles hype mode.

Joey Styles: Yes we can, Joel. On August eleventh and August eighteenth at ECW On TNN, Kid Kash had two shots at the ECW Championship. Both times he looked set to defeat the champion until the ECW Television Champion Rhino interfered, costing Kash the match. This fit into The Network’s plans of trying to get Credible to join, but it didn’t fit into Kash’s plans.

Gertner shakes his head, agreeing with Styles.

Joel Gertner: Then last week at ECW On TNN, Justin Credible and Rhino teamed up to face Rob Van Dam and Kid Kash. RVD and Kash were able to pick up the victory; however Kash was on the receiving end of a severe beating from Rhino. This, once again, probably didn’t fall into Kash’s plans.

Joey Styles: The one thing at the moment that does fall into Kid Kash’s plans? REVENGE! And Kash will get the chance for revenge next week at ECW On TNN when he gets a shot at Rhino and Rhino’s ECW Television Championship!

The fans mark out for the announcement whilst Styles and Gertner smirk.

Joel Gertner: Kid Kash has been on a quite the roll as of late and Rhino is virtually unstoppable. This is a match that could go either way...

Styles nods along, but isn’t quite finished yet.

Joey Styles: We have one more announcement for ECW On TNN next week as well. On the August fourth episode of ECW On TNN, Pierre Carl Oulette announced that he had come to ECW for money and he was going to attempt to retrieve the bounty placed on Jerry Lynn’s head by The Network.

Joel Gertner: ECW mainstay Balls Mahoney was quick to introduce himself and let Pierre know that he shouldn’t do anything to help The Network!

Joey Styles: This sparked Oulette to head butt Balls right on the bridge of the nose, actually breaking it. The two went on to brawl until Balls had to go and get ready for his match. Neither man had any interaction with each other since, until last week on ECW Hardcore TV when Oulette took out Balls with a brutal chair shot followed by his patented Lariat!

Joel Gertner: So what does ECW say? LET THEM FIGHT! Next week at ECW On TNN these two big bulls will do battle, and hopefully settle their differences!

Styles and Gertner nod politely at the camera one last time, quite content with their shill job...

    ...

We then head back to ringside and “Turn It Up” by Busta Rhymes fills the arena up with bass as Da Baldies make their way from the back. There’s a fair bit of heat from the New York crowd for Angel and Tony DeVito, more so because they are such a good crowd than because these guys are over. They continue to make their rather uneventful entrance until they get inside the ring and wait for their opponents. The ovation picks up as “Super Bon Bon” by Soul Coughing is heard bringing out the popular tandem of Danny Doring and Roadkill. Doring and Roadkill are looking extremely confident, as they probably should, as the big man and little man slap hands with the fans on their way to the ring.

    Match Four
ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarter Final Match
Da’ Baldies vs. Danny Doring and Roadkill

I know everybody has probably grown pretty accustomed to these long, spot fest type match recaps for this thread. Believe me; there will be plenty more of them... This just simply isn’t one of them. Doring and Roadkill blitz their filler (just being honest) opponents. Da’ Baldies literally don’t even get in one bit of offense, as Doring and Roadkill look very impressive, disposing of DeVito... AND POLISHING OFF ANGEL WITH the BUGGY BANG! ROADKILL THEN MAKES THE COVER...1...2...3!

Winners – Danny Doring and Roadkill @ 02:24

The cheers are all for Doring and Roadkill as the fans show just how impressed they are with the dominant display. Doring and Roadkill share a rather measured celebration in the ring after having their arms raised by the referee.

Both men look into the camera, holding up two fingers, “TWO MORE WINS TO GO... THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!”

As the fans continue to cheer the victors, we head to a commercial break.

    -COMMERCIAL BREAK-

The break is over and for the second time tonight, Joey Styles and Joel Gertner are ready to sell a future event.

Joey Styles: Ladies and gentleman, just before we get on with our next Quarter Final match, we wanted to remind everybody that we are now only TWO WEEKS AWAY from seeing the ECW Champion Justin Credible defend his championship against the number one contender Jerry Lynn and a member of The Network in Steve Corino!

Joel Gertner: This one has been brewing for awhile now, Joey. There are so many questions that this match will hopefully answer as well.

Joey Styles: Will Justin Credible join The Network? Will he not join The Network? Will he make any decision at all? Will Jerry Lynn finally win the big one? Can Steve Corino shock the world and become the ECW Champion? I can’t wait for this one in just two weeks time at ECW On TNN!

Once the commentators are done, “Breathe And Stop” by Q Tip gets everybody feeling a little gangster as Chilly Willy steps through the curtain to a fair amount of cheers from the crowd. Willy looks pretty nervous and who can blame him, as he slaps hands with the fans, trying to maintain his composure. As Chilly is half way to the ring, “Enter Sandman” by Metallica gets the ARENA TO ALMOST EXPLODE WITH CHEERS as The Sandman can be seen drunkenly making his way through the crowd. As per usual, Sandman stops and epically CRUSHES HIS BEER CAN WITH HIS FOREHEAD BEFORE DRINKING WHATEVER’S LEFT! The fans continue to go crazy as Sandman gets into the ring and shares a nod with his tag partner. “Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck” by Grinspoon draws the massive amount of heat as the ECW Champion Justin Credible makes his presence felt, closely followed by Francine. Francine is holding onto Credible’s trusty Singapore Cane as the champion mouths off to his opponents, but waits for his partner before getting into the ring. He doesn’t have to wait long either as “Debonaire” by Dope brings out the most sadistic member of The Network by a long way, the ECW Television Champion Rhino. The heat for Rhino matches Credible’s, the fans are just brutal to both these guys as Rhino tells Credible “LET’S GO”, and the two immediately rush the ring.

    Match Five
ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarter Final Match
Chilly Willy and The Sandman vs. Justin Credible and Rhino w/Francine

The crowd begins to roar, anticipating the awesome showdown as Credible and Rhino both slide into the ring. The Sandman still has his trusty Singapore Cane in hand, holding it light a baseball bat. Credible looks a little uneasy, but Rhino’s eyes head straight to Chilly Willy and he yells “I’M GONNA’ KILL YOU, BOY”!

Chilly’s jaw drops as he’s obviously not the most confident man in the world. The Sandman sees this and stands in front of Chilly with his Singapore Cane, saying “stay behind me”.

Eventually Rhino makes the first move, CHARGING TOWARDS HIS OPPONENTS... ONLY FOR THE SANDMAN TO SMASH HIM RIGHT ACROSS THE HEAD WITH THE SINGAPORE CANE!

Rhino staggers but doesn’t lose his feet... SO SANDMAN HITS HIM AGAIN... AND A THIRD TIME UNTIL FINALLY RHINO DROPS!

With Rhino down, The Sandman draws his attention towards Credible... WHO IMMEDIATELY TRIES TO HOP OUTSIDE THE RING TO AVOID A BEATING WITH THE SINGAPORE CANE! UNFORTUNATELY FOR CREDIBLE... HE ONLY GETS HALF WAY OUT... WHEN SANDMAN SMASHES THE CANE AGAINST HIS BACK... CAUSING CREDIBLE TO LOSE HIS FOOTING AND FALL TO THE FLOOR AWKWARDLY!

The beast of a man that he is, Rhino is already back to his feet, and he begins to head towards Chilly Willy, as he slowly shakes out the cobwebs from the early Cane shots he’s eaten. Chilly prepares to fight, but Rhino hits him with one hard right hand which causes Willy to crumble to the canvas... Rhino mounts Chilly and looks set to continue the punishment until THE SANDMAN USES HIS SINGAPORE CANE AGAIN... THIS TIME ACROSS THE BACK OF RHINO!

As Rhino staggers across the ring in pain, clutching his back, the fans can’t help but get around the master of the Singapore Cane. “SANDMAN”, “SANDMAN”, “SANDMAN” chants can be heard from the New York crowd as The Sandman now backs Rhino into the corner... AND HOLDS THE CANE ACROSS RHINO’S THROAT... CHOKING HIM WITH IT!

Rhino’s face is now changing the colour as the blood thirsty now chant “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” as Rhino can’t breathe. Eventually Rhino manages to thumb Sandman in the eye which allows him to walk out of the corner. Sandman looks set to go back at Rhino... BUT JUSTIN CREDIBLE TRIPS THE SANDMAN AND DRAGS HIM OUTSIDE OF THE RING!

The Sandman holds onto the Singapore Cane as Credible begins teeing off with right hands, whilst inside the ring; Rhino now has his sights set on Chilly Willy. With Credible taking up all of Sandman’s time, Chilly realises this is his time to shine... AND HE CHARGES ACROSS THE RING... BUT RUNS STRAIGHT INTO A FUCKING GORE FROM RHINO!

That’s not enough either as Rhino quickly gets up, salivating at the thought of more violence... AND DRILLS CHILLY HEAD FIRST TO THE CANVAS WITH A PILEDRIVER!!!

As this was happening, on the outside of the ring... THE SANDMAN WAS ABLE TO CATAPULT JUSTIN CREDIBLE INTO THE RING POST!!!

Inside the ring... RHINO LAYS OVER CHILLY... MAKING A LAZY COVER...1...2...3!!!NO!!! THE SANDMAN BREAKS UP THE COUNT WITH A SINGAPORE CANE SHOT RIGHT TO RHINO’S UNPROTECTED MID SECTION!

The Sandman hammers away on Rhino a few more times... UNTIL THE SINGAPORE CANE BREAKS!

THE SANDMAN THEN LOOKS SET TO TAKE RHINO DOWN WITH A LEG DROP... BUT CREDIBLE COMES FROM BEHIND WITH A LOW BLOW!

Credible continues to beat down Sandman as Rhino heads outside of the ring and grabs a table. Once back inside the ring, Rhino sets up the table leaning against the turnbuckles in one corner. Credible now turns his attention towards Francine, “THROW IT HERE”, and Francine tosses a brand new Singapore Cane to Credible. The ECW Champion waits for The Sandman to get up... BEFORE DRILLING HIM WITH A CANE SHOT TO THE HEAD!

The Sandman staggers without dropping... BUT STAGGERS STRAIGHT INTO A GORE FROM RHINO WHICH CRUSHES HIM RIGHT THROUGH THE TABLE THAT WAS SET UP IN THE CORNER!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out again, as the intense Rhino gets up, and just for shits and giggles... DRILLS CHILLY WILLY WITH ANOTHER PILEDRIVER BEFORE MAKING THE COVER...1...2...3!

Winners – Justin Credible and Rhino @ 05:00

No tension, no dramas, no miscommunications between the two champions tonight. Credible and Rhino get the win and Francine steps inside the ring to raise their hands in victory along with the referee.

The fans are pissed though, booing the hell out of the duo, but they really don’t care, all smiles knowing they are one win closer to becoming the ECW Tag Team Champions.

Credible heads to the top rope to pose to the fans, whilst Rhino begins looking intense again, clearly over the celebration. As the difference between the two can clearly be shown, we fade to commercials.

    -COMMERCIAL BREAK-

It’s just one of those nights as Joey Styles and Joel Gertner are standing by YET AGAIN.

Joey Styles: Welcome back from our final commercial break of the evening, folks. We’ve only got one more Quarter Final match to go as the number one contender for the ECW Championship Jerry Lynn will team up with Tommy Dreamer to take on Kid Kash and Rob Van Dam!

Joel Gertner: There’s a reason why this match was saved until the main event. These four guys can put on a show like nobody else in all of wrestling.

Joey Styles: Please be sure to tune in tomorrow night on ECW Hardcore TV as well as the semi finals and finals of the ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament will be aired in full! Here’s the way the tournament brackets have turned out:

    -SEMI FINALS-

Danny Doring and Roadkill vs. Team Me

Hot Commodity vs. The Unholy Alliance

Justin Credible and Rhino vs. The winner of tonight’s main event

Joel Gertner: And of course the winners of these semi finals will do battle in a THREE WAY DANCE to determine the new ECW Tag Team Champions...

Joey Styles: And that final, once again, will also take place in full tomorrow night!

So with one last sell of tomorrow night’s ECW Hardcore TV out of the way, “Scapegoat” by Fear Factory causes the fans TO POP LIKE CRAZY as a focused Jerry Lynn heads towards the ring. Lynn nods in appreciation for the ovation, before walking straight to the ring, ready to go. “Man In The Box” by Alice In Chains brings out his partner Tommy Dreamer to an equally as loud pop. Dreamer poses with his arms out as he steps through the curtain much to the delight of the crowd, before he steps inside the ring, and once inside, Lynn and Dreamer share a quick handshake. “Fuck That” by Kid Rock brings out the first member of the opposing team, and it’s the ever popular Kid Kash whose pop definitely rivals that of Lynn and Dreamer. Kash puts his hands out, playing to the fans a little as he makes his way towards the ring. He also shows no fear, stepping straight into the ring, hoping that the mutual respect between he and his opponents means they won’t attack him. “Walk” by Kilgore BLOWS THE ROOF OFF THE BUILDIN WITH THE LOUDEST OVATION OF THE NIGHT as Rob Van Dam confidently heads to the ring, followed by the man with the never ending whistle in his mouth, Bill Alfonso. Van Dam stops half way down the ramp to do his thumb taunts... and “ROB...VAN...DAM” along with the ring announcer before he gets into the ring and is ready to throw down.

    Match Six
ECW Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarter Final Match
Jerry Lynn and Tommy Dreamer vs. Kid Kash and Rob Van Dam w/Bill Alfonso

Despite the hatred that Lynn and Van Dam have for each other, all four men also share a mutual respect for each other so there’s no wild start. Instead Van Dam and Dreamer step to the ring apron and allow Kash and Jerry Lynn to put on a show. The first few minutes are rather uneventful with not too much weapon use going on, however all hell does eventually break loose. Dreamer and Lynn are looking to double team Kash... AS THEY GET HIM UP FOR A VERTICAL SUPLEX... AND THROW HIM STERNUM FIRST ONTO THE TOP ROPE... BUT THEY CONTINUE TO HOLD HIM UP IN THE AIR AFTER THE CONTACT WITH THE ROPES... NOW LOOKING FOR A NORMAL SUPLEX... UNTIL RVD FLIES FROM THE TOP ROPE... SPREADING HIS LEGS OUT AND CONNECTING WITH A THRUST KICK TO THE CHEST OF BOTH JERRY LYNN AND TOMMY DREAMER!

And what a way for all hell to break loose. As usual, those “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out. Kash remains down on the canvas feeling a little worse for wear which means it’s two on one here for Van Dam to deal with. He lands a quick few forearms to Dreamer, causing him to back off, and now RVD focuses on his arch nemesis Jerry Lynn. Van Dam begins beating down on Lynn in the corner, before sending him flying across the ring with a Monkey Flip!

Van Dam then kips up, doing the thumb taunts again... “ROB...VAN...DAM”, UNTIL HE TURNS STRAIGHT INTO A SHOT ACROSS THE HEAD WITH A FRYING PAN FROM TOMMY DREAMER! DREAMER MAKES THE COVER...AND THE REFEREE SEEMS TO HAVE FORGOTTEN WHO THE LEGAL MAN IS...1...2...NO! RVD JUST MANAGES A SHOULDER OFF OF THE CANVAS!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” is again all throughout the arena as Tommy takes it upon himself to drag RVD up by the hair and toss him through the middle rope to the outside. As Dreamer follows Van Dam out, Lynn decides to continue to beat on Kash inside the ring.

Back outside of the ring, Dreamer batters Van Dam without mercy before he grabs a crutch from a member of the audience. Dreamer looks SET TO SMASH THE CRUTCH ONTO VAN DAM’S HEAD... BUT RVD LANDS A QUICK KICK TO THE MID SECTION OUT OF NOWHERE!

Dreamer drops the crutch... AND RVD TAKES A FEW STEPS BACK... BEFORE CHARGING AT TOMMY... WHO GIVES VAN DAM A SITOUT SPINEBUSTER... CAUSING VAN DAM’S SPINE TO LAND AWKWARDLY ON THE CRUTCH!!!

As RVD rolls around in agony, inside the ring Kash is back up... and he drops Lynn with a quick DDT... Before he sees Dreamer standing over RVD on the outside... SO KASH CHARGES ACROSS THE RING... AND DIVES OVER THE TOP ROPE... TAKING DREAMER OUT WITH A SUICIDE DIVE!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out again as all four men are down. Jerry Lynn is the first to his feet on the inside of the ring... and he waits for the three on the outside to begin getting up... BEFORE LYNN COMES TO THE OUTSIDE WITH A SPRINGBOARD CROSSBODY... TAKING OUT BOTH HIS OPPONENTS AND HIS PARTNER IN THE PROCESS!

Not one to stop there, Lynn quickly gets to his feet, bringing Kid Kash to a vertical base with him. Lynn gets onto the ring apron, bringing Kash up with him... AND LYNN LANDS A MODIFIED TORNADO DDT FROM THE RING APRON TO THE FUCKING FLOOR!!!

“JERRY LYNN”, “JERRY LYNN”, “JERRY LYNN” chants now ring out as Lynn rolls the probably dead Kid Kash back into the ring. Tommy Dreamer remains down on the outside as Van Dam begins to stir. Sensing the opportunity to get one up on his long time enemy, Lynn drags Van Dam up to the ring apron... and LOOKS SET FOR THE TORNADO DDT AGAIN... BUT RVD SHOWS INCREDIBLE STRENGTH... HOLDING LYNN IN MID AIR... AND FORCING HIM TO LAND STERNUM FIRST ONTO THE CROWD BARRICADE!

With Lynn hanging in that perfect precarious position... Van Dam gets onto the top rope... THUMB TAUNTS AND “ROB VAN DAM”... BEFORE VAN DAM COMES OFF WITH A SPINNING LEG DROP ACROSS THE BACK OF LYNN ONTO THE CROWD BARRICADE!

“RVD”, “RVD”, “RVD” chants can now be heard as Van Dam strikes again. ‘The Whole Fuckin’ Show’ is quickly back to his feet, probably out of instinct, but he’s hobbling around trying to walk out the pain... AND HE WALKS STRAIGHT INTO A SNAP DDT FROM TOMMY DREAMER!

With Van Dam and Lynn both down on the outside, Dreamer slides back into the ring. Like an animal stalking his prey, Dreamer waits for Kash to get up... DDT TO KASH! NO! KASH REVERSES INTO A NORTHERN LIGHTS SUPLEX... WITH THE BRIDGE...1...2...NO! DREAMER MANAGES TO SHOOT A SHOULDER OFF OF THE MAT!

Kash gets back to his feet and heads outside the ring, grabbing a steel chair. Once back inside the ring... Kash LOOKS SET TO NAIL A BRAIN BUSTER ON THE STEEL CHAIR TO DREAMER... BUT DREAMER LANDS BEHIND KASH... REVERSE DDT ONTO THE STEEL CHAIR!!!

DREAMER MAKES THE PIN...1...2...3! NO! KASH SHOWS HIS RESILIENCE THIS TIME!

Dreamer looks a little shocked before he heads to the top rope. It’s a little uncharacteristic of Dreamer... AND KASH BOUNCES INTO THE ROPES... CROTCHING DREAMER ON THE TOP!

Kash then fights his way up top... PERHAPS LOOKING FOR A SUPLERPLEX... BUT JERRY LYNN CLUBS KASH FROM BEHIND...

LYNN THEN GETS KASH IN AN ELECTRIC CHAIR POSITION... AND DREAMER FLIES OFF OF THE TOP ROPE WITH A CLOTHESLINE... DAMN NEAR DECAPTITATING KASH!!!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”...AS JERRY LYNN MAKES THE COVER...1...2...3!

    NO!

RVD BREAKS UP THE COVER WITH A SPLIT LEGGED MOONSAULT OUT OF NOWHERE!

Van Dam bounces back to his feet and Dreamer looks for a Clothesline, Van Dam ducks and takes him out with a Roundhouse Kick to the head... With Dreamer and Lynn both down... Van Dam focuses on Lynn... BOUNCING OFF OF THE ROPES... ROLLING THUNDER!!! RVD WITH THE COVER...1...2...NO! LYNN KICKS OUT OF THE ROLLING THUNDER!

RVD is a little shocked with the amount of authority that Lynn kicked out of, before Dreamer hits him from nowhere with a couple of right hands... UNTIL KID KASH COMES OFF THE TOP ROPE WITH DROPKICK... SENDING TOMMY DREAMER FALLING THROUGH THE ROPES AND TO THE OUTSIDE!

Kid Kash stays down on the inside of the ring though, as it looks like he may have landed a little wrong. Meanwhile RVD now grabs a steel chair and waits for Lynn to get up... BEFORE THROWING THE CHAIR TO LYNN... WHO CATCHES IT OUT OF INSTINCT... VAN DAMINATOR TO JERRY LYNN!!!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants as the fans are loving this, meanwhile Van Dam now places the steel chair on Lynn’s face... AND LANDS A SHARP LEG DROP... SENDING THE CHAIR CRUSHING INTO THE FACE OF LYNN!!! RVD HOOKS THE LEG...1...2...3! NO! THIS TIME LYNN JUST GETS A SHOULDER UP!

The number one contender is still barely moving though, so Van Dam heads to the top rope... Looking at the crowd... PREPARING FOR THE FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH... WHEN FUCKING RHINO APPEARS OUT OF NOWHERE AND PUSHES RVD OFF OF THE TOP ROPE AND VAN DAM CRASHES TO THE CANVAS!

The fans shit all over him, but Rhino doesn’t care as he waits for Van Dam to get up... BEFORE RUNNING THROUGH HIM WITH A GORE!!!

Rhino then gets up, letting out a typical intense roar... BEFORE HE TURNS INTO A HURRICANRANA FROM KID KASH WHICH SENDS RHINO TUMBLING THROUGH THE BOTTOM ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!

And outside the ring, a recovered TOMMY DREAMER AND RHINO BEGIN BRAWLING VIOLENTLY, WITH BRUTAL RIGHT HANDS...

UNTIL KID KASH COMES FROM THE TOP ROPE WITH A DIVING CROSSBODY TAKING OUT BOTH MEN!!!

“ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA”, “ECDUBBYA” chants ring out again as inside the ring, Jerry Lynn has managed to fight his way up to a vertical base. He looks around and notices everybody is down... He looks a little confused and isn’t sure how it happened, but he knows he needs to capitalise... LYNN PICKS UP VAN DAM... AND DELIVERS THE CRADLE PILEDRIVER ONTO THE CHAIR RVD PREVIOUSLY USED ON LYNN... JERRY HOOKS THE LEG...1...2...3!

Winners – Jerry Lynn and Tommy Dreamer @ 10:17

Despite the way the match ended with Rhino ruining an epic encounter, the New York natives still let out an ENORMOUS POP as Jerry Lynn is able to pick up a meaningful victory.

A battered Lynn has his hand raised by the official, happy with being one step closer to tag gold, but also happy to gain a pinfall victory over the man who’s beaten him way to many times in the past, RVD.

With everybody else still down inside and outside the ring, this is Lynn’s time to shine as his music plays and he celebrates with the crowd as we fade to black.

    -END OF SHOW-
