WC's Fave Five Albums of 2016

As the interesting year that 2016 is comes to a close, I figured it would be appropriate to have some type of discussion on what the board felt were some of the best albums from the entire year. I wasn't sure how I wanted to go about this, so I said fuck it and hopped onto the Fave Five train. Plus I'm sure just about everyone here knows how the Fave Five formula works so why make it difficult? All you need to do is PM your top 5 albums in order to me and I'll get the list sorted.

I'd like to hopefully get this rolling on the 29th, so I'll set the deadline for lists at 10 AM EST on December 29th. That gives everyone a week and I'll post the first batch shortly after the deadline.

Oh, and if you would like to also nominate mixtapes and EPs that's okay too.

I'd contribute but I listened to all of one album this year and unless Hardwired can take up all five of my spots then its a no go.

I'll get in on this. There's only one album on mine that will probably get votes from others. I actually expect it to be number one.

Left off Untitled Unmastered, Coloring Book, Life of Pablo, JEFFERY, Crown (by Rapsody), The Dream is Over (by PUP), Bobby Tarantino (by Logic), King Push - Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude (by Pusha T), 4 Your Eyez Only, x Infinity (by George Watsky), The Hamilton Mixtape (by Lin Manuel-Miranda), among others that I really enjoyed.

Darkest Before Dawn is technically 2015. Also, Coloring Book kind of disappointed me. I honestly considered also having a worst/disappointing five of 2016, but we all know Corey Feldman's album would win that one.

The Dream Is Over is great. Might crack my five spot.

    Oh you're right.

I don't think I'd submit for that one, I pass on an album pretty quickly if it sucks.

It is great, I sort of wanted to get a rock-ish album in, and The Dream is Over as well as Lifelines by I Prevail nearly made it. Green Day, Sum 41, Billy Talent and Blink 182 had mediocre to solid albums but nothing top 5 worthy.

Do compilations count? Because Otis Redding Live at the Whisky A Go Go is the best album of the year but it's not exactly new.

Just a reminder that you have 3 more days to submit a list. We already have 23 different projects submitted in total, with only a few repeats so far.

I might get a list in today or tomorrow
    [07:31 PM] Stonewall Dakson
: I have a good friend that lives near Seattle. He says I should come visit sometime but that is like the exact opposite side of the country from me.
    [07:31 PM] Jon Snow
: theyve got planes for that
    [07:31 PM] Stonewall Dakson
: And those cost lots of money
    [07:32 PM] Jim
: send yourself in a box without any holes with the USPS. Best case scenario, you get cheap traveling, worst case, you're gone forever
    [10:00 PM] Kairi HoHo
: Jerk it in my honor Dak bye.
    [06:18 PM]Stonewall Dakson
: Guys, I am going to see President Trump tomorrow.
    [06:19 PM]Stonewall Dakson
: He's holding a rally in the town I live in. Gonna skip outta work and go.
    [06:19 PM]Stonewall Dakson
: Not the town I live in, the town I work in.
    [06:19 PM]RecyCocks
: You should bring TGR with you
    [06:20 PM]Stonewall Dakson
: If I was taking a long walk off a short pier I would gladly bring TGR with me.
    [11:40 PM]
    Kairi HoHo
: Pretty sure I said I would go gay for Ryan Gosling just saying lol.

Run the Jewels 3 ended up dropping on Christmas and the album is fire, so now I'm going to have to adjust my top 5.

Only new album I've listened to this year is Rihanna's "Anti", got bored of all the metal bands I was into I guess.

Thanks to Jabberwocky for the amazing Gabrielle gif
