I wasn't wild about Starboy either but I've usually found The Weeknd hit and miss.

Tove Lo was pretty fire tho.

I haven't listened to much from this year so that's why it made my list

Starboy was a late cut from my list because I forgot about another album.

It's an album with a good beginning and end, but the stuff in the middle seems more like filler than anything. False Alarm is good too, but it's nowhere near Beauty Behind the Madness as a whole.

I'm about to take a nap before I head to work so here's the other four albums that tied for number nine on the list.

    9T. The Lounge Kittens - Sequins & C-Bombs - 10 points (Mikk #5)

9T. Wheeler Walker Jr. - Redneck Shit - 10 points (Professor Booty #5)

    9T. Buckethead - Sparks in the Dark - 10 points (Ed #5)

    9T. Jimmy Eat World - Integrity Blues - 10 points (Peepshow #5)

If anyone was interested, Buckethead dropped like 23 fucking albums this year.

Good comeback album from Jimmy Eat World after their last one was the first dud in like ten years. Really love it when "Sure and Certain" pops on the radio every once in a while. "Through" is pretty money too.

IT'S A NEW DAY! and it's time for a new set of albums that tied for the 8th spot now.

    8T. Avenged Sevenfold - The Stage - 20 points (Jimmy King #4)

    8T. Michael Kiwanuka - Love & Hate - 20 points (Fuji Vice #4)

8T. The Naked and Famous - Simple Forms - 20 points (Silk #4)

    8T. Frankie Cosmos - Next Thing - 20 points (Nicky #4)

    8T. Vince Staples - Prima Donna - 20 points (Luke Cage #4)

I was really happy to see Vince Staples and Michael Kiwanuka get some love. The other 4 that tied for the 8th spot will be posted later today.

I actually almost put Porches "Pool" in the four spot instead of the Frankie Cosmos album which is funny since they're both dating each other. Unfortunately I didn't list "Pool".

"Next Thing" is real nice. Oddly charming. Really catchy stuff.

Prima Donna's a great EP and I think was a superior execution of a story over J. Cole's 4 Your Eyez Only. Need a new album from Vince in 2017.

Listening to Simple Forms right now. Really catchy stuff. Love electronic/punk sounding stuff like that. Will definitely have to give their other albums a listen.

They've been pretty consistently great. You probably heard "Young Blood" at some point in your life.

For my money, "Backslide" is one of the best songs this year.

Re: WC's Fave Five Albums of 2016

Listened to T/N/A/F and it was good fun though pop generally ends up fading to background music when I listen to it so I don't think I'll listen to it more than a few rare times. Loved Love/Hate by Michael Kiwanika after giving it a listen though. Definitely going to listen to that a lot more.

Wish I'd considered Blonde (it's an amazing album so it bares repeading) and Danny Brown's Atrocity Exhibition (it took me a while to get through the jarring sound and voice but when you get acquainted, it's stellar).

I liked American Band so shout out to Fuji.

Figured I was alone on Worry but if a lot of people like stuff like Jimmy Eat World and indie punk/pop punk, then most of Jeff's projects are right up your alley. Worry is so personal and so good. One of the best song writers out there in my opinion. Also got to meet him last year when he played with PUP and Modern Baseball and he is a really nice guy.

Tremonti album was very good, would have been in my top 10 if we were doing 10

Re: WC's Fave Five Albums of 2016

Views was such a flop and disappointing album -_-

Didn't realize Lacuna Coil had a new album, they're a pretty decent listen so I'll have to check them out.

Bobby Tarantino is a great mixtape and could have easily fit into my top 5 tbh so I'm happy to see him here.

I'm hoping to go to Noname's first tour. And hoping to see her show up in more of the Chicago based rappers's albums. Gem of a talent.

Noname is great, and yeah View was very disappointing. It sucked to see Drake play it so safe after dropping IYRTITL, but I can't say I'm surprised or totally blame him since it completely worked in terms of generating dat cash and probably a ton of awards.
