    October/November 2016-'17 NBA Thread

Sorry Lucas, been wrapped up with the Cubs.

Anyway, I'm actually pretty psyched about hoops starting up again, though Durant going to GS probably gives most of us headaches. As always, let's get to the most fun part of preseason...predictions! Pat myself on the back for calling CJ McCollum as the man last year.

    Re: October/November 2016-'17 NBA Thread

To some more specific bolder picks, I really think this Suns team is legit on offense and will be a feared, high pace team by season's end. Keep an eye on TJ Warren who was just named the starter at the 3, he's a force on offense and I've always been a fan of his. They match up very interestingly to GS too, and that's a series I'd love to see.

Orlando's an underrated roster with solid depth. Look at their roster and if they can curb some of the bad habits of Green & Payton with Gordon & Hezonja taking a step forward look out for this team to surprise some people.

    1.) Warriors
    2.) Clippers
    3.) Spurs
    4.) Grizzly Bears
    5.) Thunder
    6.) Rockets
    7.) Trailblazers (45-win team)
    8.) T-wolves
    9.) Jazz
    10.) Suns

    The rest are mierda.

I like the Suns pick, Zero, and think they will make huge strides. The Rockets are going to score 110 points a game.

1.) Celtics (they're gonna go all out for the No. 1 seed)
    2.) Cavs
    3.) Raptors
    4.) Pacers
    5.) Wizards
    6.) Bulls
    7.) Hawks
    8.) Pistons
    9.) Bucks (they'll still win 40 games)
    10.) Magic

Sucks for the Bucks because they'd be a 7 seed if not for Khris Middleton getting hurt. The Heat will be in tank mode midway through.

I'm down for most of your predictions but this one. Lin already had a much-improved season. I don't know how he could even be eligible for this, honestly.

They say he should be back in January, but you don't rush a injury for a young kid like this so I wouldn't be surprised to see him come back in February. Noel should miss 3-5 weeks with his surgery, so all the hype I had to see this team play this season it might be another loss season to watch as a Sixers fan.

Still on that TJ Warren hype train? You literally said the same thing last year.

I agree with you though. I think the Suns could definitely make some noise and I'd like to see it because I like that team. Warren just needs minutes and should definitely be their starting SF.

Anyway, I'd like to pat myself on the back for this bold prediction last year.

I'm all in on the TPups this year. They're going to be a force and take a massive jump imo. It's all about the Thibs. Another year of maturation for Wiggins, LaVine, etc and Towns looks like a fucking animal. He could be a dark horse MVP candidate if they play as well as I think they can and will. And I think Dunn could easily be ROTY.

I believe in Minnesota as well, but if Minnesota hits 50 wins, I'll buy you a Towns jersey.

so i went to nba.com to see if they had Wally jerseys, or Wally throwback jerseys, cause I don't want to really order a custom one(i don't trust them to do it right) and they don't, so my offer of Towns stands.

Guess who they did have jerseys for though...

    Re: October/November 2016-'17 NBA Thread

RE: J-Lin - He wasn't really that improved, he was about as good as always, he was just used a lot more/better than he was in LA and got more chances, but if you look at his %s and his passing prowess it was among the lowest in his career. He's pretty much all the Nets have this year unless Lopez stays healthy. Could easily see him setting career highs in every facet of the game as a true playmaker and push averaging 20 PPG, likely All Star as well imo.

Warren's gotten the Jimmer treatment. Every time he sees the court he's a threat, just needs to see more minutes. If he gets that he'll show out.

Think Saric is a legit ROTY and have changed my mind on ROTY. He's looked the best of any rookies in the preseason, unlike Dunn & Ingram who've been awful. (Grain o' salt) I think Alex Abrines is with OKC too.

I would really love to know the thinking behind the Grizzlies getting 11th place & 37 wins considering they were in the playoffs running out legit 3/4ths of their team being D-Leaguers for 2 months.

Because they're in the West. Same conference as the Wolves. Easy explanation.

Rio was one of our many injuries and Lance was really the only other NBA level talent besides Z-Bo, VC at times.

Regardless, with all these guys coming back + Parsons & Baldwin there's no reason at all they shouldn't be a playoff team even in the worst case scenario. If you predict them behind the 50 win Wolves fine, but how are they falling behind Houston & Dallas & Phoenix?

I never said the Celtics would win the East title. I do think they really want home court, though. Think Pacers-Heat from 2013-2014. Or, going way back, Knicks-Bulls from 1992-1993.

It's funny too because KD, Curry, and Draymond all played pretty well. They just have no bench whatsoever. Iggy, Livingston, West all played like shit on a stick.
