CWA.com presents "A Pint of Milk"

CWA.com recently sent out a blank interview sheet to all of its current superstars (and some retired/absent ones) for a new (ie stolen from EMPIRE film magazine) feature entitled A Pint of Milk. Responses to the interview will be posted on CWA.com regularly leading up to the Kings Reign Supreme next month, so check back regularly to make sure you don't miss YOUR favourite superstar! This is an exclusive chance to peer into the private life of CWA's elite, and view them in a never-seen-before light...

Below is a list of the twenty (well, some of them are two parters) questions sent out to the roster...

    1. What's your name and is it your real name?

    2. How old are you now and how old were you when you started wrestling?

    3. Why did you pick your entrance music?

    4. What's your favourite film?

    5. What's your workout routine?

    6. How much is a pint of milk?

    7. Which CWA match(es) did you enjoy the most during your career?

    8. Which CWA superstar (that you haven't faced) would you most like to face?

    9. Which FWA superstar (that you haven't faced) would you most like to face?

    10. What's your favourite album?

    11. What did you get for your birthday this year?

    12. What is the most impressive finisher in CWA?

    13. What do you consider your biggest accomplishment in wrestling?

    14. ... and what is your biggest failure?

    15. What do you plan to do when you retire?

    16. What's your favourite book?

    17. How many countries have you wrestled in?

    18. What time do you wake up on a day off?

    19. When are you most comfortable?

    20. ... and an easy one to finish: is there a God?

OOC: Thought this might be a fun way of learn/tell more about our characters, and maybe inject some behind the scenes activity. Answer sincerely or derisively, whatever floats your boat.

Re: CWA.com presents "A Pint of Milk"

    Dear CWA.com,

I'm only doing this for the approximately thirty seven people in the 'CWA Universe' that are intelligent enough to appreciate the glory of Michelle von Horrowitz. If you're not one of those people, stop reading now.

    1. What's your name and is it your real name?
Michelle von Horrowitz, and yes. Only a coward uses an alias.

    2. How old are you now and how old were you when you started wrestling?
    26 and 17, respectively.

    3. Why did you pick your entrance music?
Because Roy Orbison is a fucking God, and because the answer to the next question is Blue Velvet.

    4. What's your favourite film?
    Blue Velvet.

    5. What's your workout routine?
    Monday - cardio (15k run).
Tuesday - weights (back, legs, and shoulders).
    Wednesday - rest day.
Thursday - cardio (5k run, 5k row), core (40mins), weights (arms, shoulders, chest).
    Friday - Adrenaline Rush.
    Saturday - cardio (10k run, 10k row).
    Sunday - sparring or PPV.

    6. How much is a pint of milk?
I work in the metric system, because I'm not an idiot. A litre is about a euro in the Netherlands and France, not that this will mean anything to you untraveled, uncultured, uneducated Americans.

    7. Which CWA match(es) did you enjoy the most during your career?
The Wrestle Royale match, for obvious reasons. I didn't exactly enjoy the main event of Five Star Attraction, but meeting somebody who could really test me was a treat. The two matches against Harrison Wake are fond memories, too.

    8. Which CWA superstar (that you haven't faced) would you most like to face?
LIGHTBRINGER, only to piss on his pride.

    9. Which FWA superstar (that you haven't faced) would you most like to face?
    Bell Connelly.

    10. What's your favourite album?
    Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division.

    11. What did you get for your birthday this year?
Really? Really? My sister sent me a case of Jameson's, which was thoughtful.

    12. What is the most impressive finisher in CWA?
The Snowfall and the Hailstorm are pretty devastating. And I did well to avoid The Timber Bomb.

    13. What do you consider your biggest accomplishment in wrestling?
    Winning the 2016 Wrestle Royale.

    14. ... and what is your biggest failure?
Failing to capitalise on my Wrestle Royale victory at Five Star Attraction.

    15. What do you plan to do when you retire?
    Sleep.

    16. What's your favourite book?
    Post Office by Charles Bukowski

    17. How many countries have you wrestled in?
8 - in chronological order, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, The UK, Japan, The United States, Canada.

    18. What time do you wake up on a day off?
For however long I'm allowed to.

    19. When are you most comfortable?
    When I'm asleep.

    20. ... and an easy one to finish: is there a God?
How should I know? If there is it's probably not a very nice one.

Just to clear up... the pint of milk question is kind of a gauge of how in touch with reality someone is. In the UK, '(s)he doesn't know the price of a pint of milk' is a saying used to describe somebody who is snobby or elitist.

    12. What is the most impressive finisher in CWA?
The one that isn't a superkick.

Re: CWA.com presents "A Pint of Milk"

I am certain that the fans would like to be treated with a little more respect as well as read something a little more interesting than the diatribe that Michelle von Horrowitz puts out. If you are one of the thirty seven people referred to by MVH then please read - but even if you aren't, feel free to read also. You'll find it better, I am sure. After all, I'm sure the fans would want to know more about a champion than a tryhard right?

    1. What's your name and is it your real name?

I am "Tokyo Kisai" LIGHTBRINGER. No it is not my real name. That is a secret. My name isn't important here. People call me LB in the CWA, it seems whilst people in Japan refer to me as Kisai. I've had people guess my real name before - the most popular forename I have been given is 'Kazuchika' and family name would be 'Okada' - I don't know why people seem to think that. My family name begins with a K and my real name begins with a T. That is all the information you need to know. Maybe my real name is Tokyo Kisai, who knows?

    2. How old are you now and how old were you when you started wrestling?

I am 27 years old - 28 later this year. I started wrestling in 2008 so I was 19/20. However, I trained in martial arts such as Jiu Jitsu, Taekwondo and Kickboxing at a young age and these are tools I have used in my puroresu career.

    3. Why did you pick your entrance music?

It was created for me. I like it - it sounds unique and has a good sound. People would instantly recognise it. That is enough for me.

    4. What's your favourite film?

I don't have a film that stands out if I am honest. I do not watch a lot of films but right now, I enjoy the Raid.

    5. What's your workout routine?

I have secrets to keep. I can't allow my opponents to know this. Just know that I work hard. Take Michelle's workout routine. That's one day for me.

    6. How much is a pint of milk?

I don't know. I am not entirely familiar with American money yet. Also what kind of milk? I tend to drink plain water and coconut water and so it is hard for me to really pinpoint the cost of something that I do not buy very often.

    7. Which CWA match(es) did you enjoy the most during your career?

I have enjoyed them all. If we are speaking as a spectator then I would say the Steel Roulette match was fun.

    8. Which CWA superstar (that you haven't faced) would you most like to face?

Jon Snowmantashi. I have already faced off against Jonathan McGinnis and will soon have the chance to face Michelle von Horrowitz. Jon Snowmantashi is the odd one out. I would like to beat him sometime soon.

    9. Which FWA superstar (that you haven't faced) would you most like to face?

Chris Kennedy or Drew Stevenson. I would enjoy it very much if I had the opportunity to decapitate them with my lariat. They come across as if they think they are untouchable. They wouldn't be the same after facing me. Alot of people aren't.

    10. What's your favourite album?

My favourite albums change all the time. I like YuNA's (FWA's Eimi Sanada's sister) "Spaceland" as well as an album by a band called CHVRCHES called "Every Open Eye". I tend to find songs instead rather than albums. I listen alot to Eimi Sanada's entrance theme (it is a dance song and not something the FWA created) which is "SkyDive" by DJ Sho Ya. I also really like Ryu's "Ing" and Eir Aoi's "Innocence".

    11. What did you get for your birthday this year?

My birthday hasn't been yet this year. Last year I was given an offer by the CWA on my birthday - to participate at a special joint promoted supershow against KAIZEN. From my friends and family, I received small gifts such as apparel, jewellery and whatnot. I do not ask for much or require much. I also received DVDs of Momoiro Clover Z, BABYMETAL and other groups. I enjoy them very much. BoBo also gifted me with a new entrance robe to use in the CWA and I also received a box of the latest SPJ trading card game. I was also rewarded for reaching 27 with a kiss on the cheek from a friend. Of course, we took a trip to Niigata to enjoy Sake Museum Ponshu-kan - where you can try many many different types of Sake from around Japan. Alot of money was spent and alcohol consumed. It was a good night, BoBo is officially banned from Echigo Tsurukame and I discovered that TANK smiles every now and then - especially when he is able to sample salt and lick it from his hands. Never ever challenge Himawari to a drinking contest. I considered the drunken night to be a part of training - a few of these drinks were stronger than some of the opponents I have faced in my career. Especially Sekihara sake! All you have to know is Sake is great. Go to Niigata and enjoy. Maybe you will get so drunk you can actually enjoy seeing The Echo speak on the mic and willingly want to watch Johnny Vegas wrestle.

    12. What is the most impressive finisher in CWA?

Apart from the LIGHTBRINGER lariat? Journey's End by Cyrus Truth. A devastating move.

    13. What do you consider your biggest accomplishment in wrestling?

I don't know. Perhaps winning the Young Lion CLIMAX undefeated - being the first person to do so. Perhaps it is almost ending Tau'a Whitlock's life to win the SPJ Intercontinental title and the ensuring reign. I don't know, I don't put them on a pedestal. They're all big achievements in my mind. Maybe it's coming to America and being a success and staying undefeated in the CWA ever since. Or my biggest accomplishment would be seeing a man I trained win the SPJ Heavyweight Championship.

    14. ... and what is your biggest failure?

Not being able to face Kotani one on one and take him out. I consider that a failure.

    15. What do you plan to do when you retire?

I would like to open my own wrestling school but who knows - I am still a part of SSD and one day I may find myself fully in charge. Maybe I could become a promoter or something along those lines. I don't know. I don't plan on retiring for a long time though.

    16. What's your favourite book?

"Romance of the Three Kingdoms" by Luo Guanzhong. It is a great book about a very interesting time period - the Han Dynasty of China and its collapse. I also enjoy reading materials about the Edo and Sengoku periods in Japanese history.

    17. How many countries have you wrestled in?

I haven't been counting but I have wrestled in alot of places. Mostly Japan and Asia but I have travelled to Europe as well as America. I'll say I have wrestled in perhaps... twenty countries? Maybe slightly less. I don't know.

    18. What time do you wake up on a day off?

I am awake every day by 7am. No excuses.

    19. When are you most comfortable?

I am comfortable all the time. I'm not sure how else to answer this question. I am relaxed and calm about everything. There's not many times where I am out of character. I guess I am on edge whenever I step into the CWA ring as I never know when the Club might pop up with their stupid antics. But I am fine more often than not.

    20. ... and an easy one to finish: is there a God?

I don't know the answer to that question and no one else will either. We can all guess but a guess means nothing. I hope my opponents believe in a God - or at least something that gives them hope, anyway. If I was younger and more arrogant, i'd say that the God is answering your question right now. There's an Indy God, apparently. He lost to me, though. Does this mean I am above the Indy God? Does this mean I don't count as an answer to this question?

Re: CWA.com presents "A Pint of Milk"

    1. What's your name and is it your real name?

Jon Snowmantashi, though some may not believe, is my real name. In fact, George R.R. Martin americanized my name by removing 'mantashi' for his popular A Song of Ice & Fire series. A lot of people enjoy coming up with many names for me, 'Japanese Man-Baby', 'Jon(ny) Boy', 'Snowman', etc. etc. I do not care really.

    2. How old are you now and how old were you when you started wrestling?

I am 37 years old and don't really remember when I started, maybe around twenty. I had dropped out of my institution out of laziness and found a place in wrestling thanks to some family connections, and enough money to persuade a dirty trainer to 'train' me. I made my debut far sooner than I should've but was lucky enough to find some quick success. I do not consider that period a very notable period, my return in the mid-late 2000s after training with KAITADESU when I was in my late 20s is when I acknowledge that I truly started wrestling.

    3. Why did you pick your entrance music?

I believe it's sufficiently epic to unveil my presence.

    4. What's your favourite film?

Difficult question. Grave of the Fireflies exemplifies my issues with certain types of war. Princess Mononoke as well. There's only one war that should be fought, and that is within the ring. Admittedly, I have a soft spot for Japanese animation and mangas. I could tell you a film I quite hate, the Last Samurai - in that sense I can see the hate the FWA athletes have for a foreigner coming into their company and being the last man standing in one of their most traditional matches.

    5. What's your workout routine?
It varies too greatly to sum up here. It involves a great deal of pain. Pain hardens the body, it prepares one for the worst.

    6. How much is a pint of milk?

I needed to google this. Then I realized I wasn't quite sure what this question was asking, in another unit, in a certain amount of money? I don't understand.

    7. Which CWA match(es) did you enjoy the most during your career?

As a participant. I must not ignore my victory over Jonathan McGinnis, I had beaten him before but this should have removed all doubt of my superiority over him, it was the reason I came to America in the first place. As a viewer, I do not watch other people's matches unless I aspire to face them. Krash vs. one of McGinnis's young boys ended without honor and he is the only one I aspire to face besides Cyrus Truth.

    8. Which CWA superstar (that you haven't faced) would you most like to face?

Krash. Cyrus Truth no longer wrestles here but he will return, and when he does, I would like to face him. LIGHTBRINGER needs to prove himself worthy of a match against me - but he leads the pack of prospective opponents.

    9. Which FWA superstar (that you haven't faced) would you most like to face?
There are a great many FWA Superstars I would like to face. KAIZEN has long intrigued me but his recent failings haven't been impressive. Ryan Rondo inevitably stands at the front being their champion but Chris Kennedy and PAJ are both men I would like to destroy, they are matched by McGinnis in egos, and yet both would surely fall before me. It disappoints me to see Cyrus Truth scar his legacy with failures in FWA. I hope we can both redeem ourselves for our inevitable clash.

    10. What's your favourite album?

I don't listen to a great deal of albums but I have a rather large collection of Anime soundtracks. Death Note, Bleach, Shengeki no Kyojin and Hunter x Hunter lead the pack.

    11. What did you get for your birthday this year?

My birthday is in three months.

    12. What is the most impressive finisher in CWA?

What finisher has finished the most people off in the CWA? Snowfall and the Hailstorm rarely fail me.

    13. What do you consider your biggest accomplishment in wrestling?

Both my reign as NWA:JP Heavyweight Champion, and CWA Heavyweight Champion are tremendous accomplishments.

    14. ... and what is your biggest failure?
The fact that I am no longer NWA:JP Heavyweight Champion and CWA Heavyweight Champion.

    15. What do you plan to do when you retire?

I will become a referee. Too many referees fall easily. Too many referees are blind. Too many referees let themselves bullied. Too many referees do nothing as injustice prevails. I will stop that. Try to superkick me, distract, or do something behind my back and I will pin you myself.

    16. What's your favourite book?

Kingdom, a manga series based off the war of the seven kingdoms. A greatly inspiration tale full of talented generals of admirable personalities.

    17. How many countries have you wrestled in?

I would need to check my profile on cagematch and count them all to see.

    18. What time do you wake up on a day off?

It depends. I travel a lot, a strict schedule is impossible.

    19. When are you most comfortable?

Within the ring. Particularly when I have one of McGinnis's young boys suffering at my hands.

    20. ... and an easy one to finish: is there a God?

I won't tell you I am a God or that there is none. I don't care. God is beyond me, it does not control my fate, and these self-professed Gods would all fall if they faced me in the ring. One should also let McGinnis know that he should evolve himself to 'CWA God', at the very least that makes a bit more sense from a point of outlandish egotism, no one quite cares if you're an Indy God. And in either case, I've beaten this God too many times for him to be anything close to All-Powerful.
