Maybe in a Tag Team affair, but I'm pretty sure they haven't faced each other one on one.

    NVM

Don't think so. Nothing to this match but as long as Storm loses the title, I'm grand.

Good luck to Stardom turning Kagetsu into a draw. I don't think it's going to happen. Not as long as Tsukushi's chasing her around the place and threatening to kill herself if Kagetsu doesn't love her enough...

I'm surprised at the vast amounts of Io/Stardom fans that are crawling out the woodwork now

What about that Lo Shirai comment Honestly, I don't know why people pretend to know about someone more then they do. There is no shame in admitting your not familiar with someone. Wrestling fans, eh.

Tsukushi just wants to be a good normal girl now, Shake. Kagetsu will be fine. I don't think she fits Stardom's MO at all though or will have much appeal to the fanbase. I think Tam should just get it even though I'm not a fan of hers in-ring at all. The fans want her the most. Maybe she'll win the 5*GP.

    Lo Shirai ftw

The latter but this one person was defending her going to WWE. Although, it wouldn't surprise me if Big Dave called her that in the upcoming issue of the observer

Someone actually called her that whilst claiming to be a Joshi fan iirc.

And lulz Meltzer doing that would be on par with him saying Asuka came from Stardom.

Re: Official Stardom and Friends Joshi Discussion

Two years ago I took the faith of Shake and Zero to watch Stardom and take a Tour of Joshi Wrestling and once again I'm thankful to you guys. I just finished the Gold Star Show from Stardom which the Main Event with Momo vs Io 2 would go down and yes the Match was great, but to me I personally loved their first Match over the White Belt more for some reason. The ending felt a little anti-climatic, they should of went the route of Momo trying to get the pin with time running out and getting that Suplex she did at the end with seconds to spare, rather than Momo just unleashing it and winning the title. Still a very enjoyable Title Match, and Io wouldn't drop the Title to anyone that she didn't deserve the chance to roll with the Title, yes Rossy thinks he's in charge, but let's be honest if Io told him tonight ain't the night to lose he's going to listen to her.

Now with Momo being White Belt Champ, we all know the saying it's one thing to win the Title, but it's a whole another animal to stay as Champion and have great Matches with talents of all skill sets. Io being gone, means she is going to be the leader and the run she's going to have is going to be put her through is going to be the biggest challenge of her life. This whole Show was very enjoyable the fans were into everything from this Show, and the Stardom Stars vs Oedo Tai 2 outta 3 falls Match was fucking great as well if you're feeling froggy to watch.

Yoo.. I'm hearing on Twitter that Meiko Satomura per Tokyo Sports and the Sendai Girls Twitter that she is going to be in the second Mae Young Classic! I hope that is true and she's going to wreck all, and man Io vs Meiko again on US soil to be seen by non-Joshi fans it's going to be lovely. Meiko is one of the last let's say Sheriffs of Women's Wrestling who are the last of the real legit badass Women Wrestlers who was trained in one of the best eras in Women Wrestling. Watch baby Meiko Matches in Tag Matches and see who are on the other it's pretty scary to see who took her to school and help her get to this point.

For sure Ed. My dream pick would of had Hiroyo in there, but getting Meiko Satomura and the respect she has in the industry in Wrestling man I'm more psyched than I was for the first MYC Tourney.

Let's see where Mayu is not the Ace of Stardom right now Momo is holding the White Belt. Momo vs Io 2 was amazing and she had a good Match with Kyona recently as well so everything is going well for Momo as Champion right now. Kagetsu now being the Red Belt Champion is a good thing going forward and I think they are heading towards Mayu vs Kagetsu in a big program, but with Mayu and Saki holding the Tag Titles they pump the brakes on that for a little bit.

I've been getting caught back up with Sendai Girls, Ice Ribbon and Sead and I heard Shida is coming back to Ice Ribbon to face Risa Sera and Nori Date needs to return because it's breaking my heart seeing the Date girls outside of her Wrestling right now.

You know I love me some Stardom, but what the fuck Rossy!! Why is AZM and Starlight Kid going to be in the new Bikiniing Photobook?

Both are kids, Momo is at least an Adult and a young one at that, but why are two going to be involved? I know they girls are tough as nails and tough to be in the Ring with grown ass Women, but I don't get this all. I don't want to see them try to a tasteful Shoot with those young girls, they should be getting ready for School if they haven't already started.

Just want to bring the Miyu Yamashita vs Yuu match from the 25/08 TJPW show to attention. I personally thought the match was great. And I do mean really great - Match Of The Year Contender type stuff. Thought the entire match was really compelling, some brutal looking (and sounding) offence, from Yuu in particular. Won't spoil it too much but it's very easy to digest, you don't have to wait long for the peaks of the match to kick in. Well worth the watch. Blew my socks off.

Yeah I have the past three Shows get through before I see that Show, but I'm happy to hear you enjoyed that Match can't wait to see it.

This is the Show I'm waiting to see

Tsukasa Fujimoto vs Maya Yukihi[ICExInfinity Title]
Lovely Butchers vs Avid Rival[International Ribbon Tag Team Title]
Ladybeard, MC MIRI & Yoshiko vs Cypress Ueno, Jun Kasai & Miyako Matsumoto[Rap Contest Six Man Tag Team]
    Hikaru Shida vs Risa Sera
Akane Fujita & Hyoketsu vs Hideki Suzuki & Kendo Kashin[Triangle Ribbon Title Survival Sumo Rules Tag Team]
Arisa Nakajima & Karen DATE vs Nanae Takahashi & Nao DATE
Giulia, Makoto & Rina Yamashita vs Aoi Kizuki, Asahi & Satsuki Totoro
Ibuki Hoshi, Matsuya Uno, Rina Shingaki & Tequila Saya vs Kyuri, Maika Ozaki, Saori Anou & Tae Honma

Also The Grand Prix has been very entertaining vs Last year. Konami has been impressing me so far and she got a huge win in the tourney to set herself really well for later. Even Utami Hayashishita a Rookie in all of this and in Stardom has been doing well after he very good debut vs Jungle Kyona. It's always a plus too when the Gaijin that came in like Nicole Savoy, Jamie Hayter, Kimber Lee, Rachael Ellering bring it to the Table and they have ten fold.

Re: Official Stardom and Friends Joshi Discussion

I just wanted to talk about how well done the 5*GP was for Stardom. God knows I'm not their biggest fan at all, but if there was an in-year "most improved award for a promotion, Stardom would have to win it. I don't know if there was some kind of behind the scenes change or what but this tournament was a far cry from "the draft era" earlier this year. Would highly recommend people check out the top matches and to just say, I thought a bunch of people actually benefited greatly from the booking. There was really only one person I would say got the short end of the stick. Unfortunately overpushing foreigners as a trope did continue and with two people in particular it was the one black spot on an otherwise really well done tournament. So let me give my actual ratings overall in terms of a PURE Star Rating for their tournament overall and then give my thoughts briefly on how they did and my impressions of them. Overall though, I enjoyed following this MUCH more than the G1 even though that tournament had higher match quality (and lower, nobody here was even close to as insufferable as Tonga or Fale) The tournament saw the rise of Utami who completely delivered on her unexpected push and showed huge guts to put her in the Final and will pay off. She's the answer to Chihiro Hashimoto and an amazing prospect.

Everyone should at least watch the Final show (skip the first 2 matches), it had 3 ****+ matches to me and most importantly ARISA HOSHIKI RETURNED. Totally unexpected moment that I legit marked out for. Many people (myself included) thought she was the best of the original Stardom wrestlers, even over Yuzupon. Her return is super welcome and she's only 23 so yet another great addition. I wish Bito had stayed...the roster would be poppin' right now. I also think it's noticeable how much better the promotion has been since Io left, unfortunately the box office took a hit, the Korakuen numbers are not pretty right now but if things keep going as is, they'll be up within the next year. Great tournament, even without a clear cut MOTYC or anything like that. Oh also on the Final show it features a big turn with Hana Kimura who is either leaving the company or starting her own faction.

Now let's get to the individual ratings, recommended matches, and singular wrestler analysis!

    Spoiler:

    1. Mayu Iwatani (PSR: 4.14 - Best Match: vs. Utami Hayashishita - Worst Match: Jamie Hayter)

Mayu I thought was clearly...CLEARLY the best wrestler in this tournament from an in-ring POV. I ranked her higher than every G1 participant besides Ibushi & Ishii and considering the talent gap between her competition has to be pretty damn impressive. No matches below *** and 4 ****+ matches buoy her rating. Would recommend her matches vs. Kashima, Momo, Hazuki, & Utami most. Great work and the right winner. I think she should win the Red Belt honestly and finish her redemption from her injury at the hands of Tragic Toni.

    2. Kagetsu (PSR: 3.77 - BM: Jungle Kyona - WM: Kimber Lee)

The champ carried Red Block as it's best and most consistent member. Her matches were very strong, much like Mayu and she didn't get the benefit of the epic final or as much storyline fun, but came across as what she is. A seasoned vet and good champ. Her matches with Konami and Ellering were also worth watching in addition to Jungle. Even her more comedic matches were fun with her Ramen Noodle Cup gimmick leading to Tora's only good match of the tournament.

    3. Momo Watanabe (PSR: 3.61 - BM: Mayu Iwatani - WM: Jamie Hayter)

Momo continued her breakout year with a very strong tournament to be proud of, and also continued her rivalries against Mayu as well as Hazuki in excellent fashion. I also thought she worked well with lower tiered members of the roster, having Nicole Savoy and Jamie Hayter's best matches. Another incredibly consistent tournament. I honestly didn't see this level in her when she was younger but she continues to surpass all expectations yet again. Love what she brought to the table and she's a big part of the future going forward.

    4. Jungle Kyona (PSR: 3.56 - BM: Kagetsu - WM: Rachael Ellering)

In my personal view she was actually the second best person in the tournament behind Mayu but she wasn't as consistent on the lower end with matches vs. Ellering and especially her partner Tora not living up to expectations. Still, her character is among the best in the promotion as well as her match with Kagetsu being my favorite in Red Block. She was alive on the final night but her future is still up in the air...it made for a better story and as much as I love Jungle, Utami winning the Block was the right decision. It should be interesting to see what the future of JAN is and specifically Jungle. That said, she was really good this tournament.

    5. Utami Hayashishita (PSR: 3.48 - BM: Mayu Iwatani - WM: Kimber Lee)

Barely 10 matches into her career and already a 5*GP Runner up! Not only that she was already a top 5 worker in this. I love everything about her style and her push right now, I would love to see her & Hoshiki team up somehow and make a run at the tag titles. Her last night in particular was awesome, I thought Konami was her best match of the tournament before the final which was one of the best women's matches this year. Utami is for real and I thought her story through the GP was just awesome.

    6. Hazuki (PSR: 3.33 - BM: Mayu Iwatani - WM: Jamie Hayter)

Hazuki was good, actually quite similar to Momo with her main stuff being continuing her feuds with her as well as Mayu. She just wasn't as consistent on the back end and isn't pushed as hard as Momo. Still, a rock solid tournament and was a great part of Blue Block and I still think she could actually turn out to be the better of the two in the long run. I really like what she brings to the table and her skillset has grown a lot. I wish she would get better hair though.

    7. Konami (PSR: 3.13 - BM: Utami - WM: Rachael Ellering)

She was the one who I thought got the short end of the stick in the booking and sadly I thought was easily avoidable by having her and Ellering swap records but unfortunately it is not to be as she seems to be firmly entrenched as the Juice/Goto of Stardom right now. Still her performances were above average, and the match with Utami was one of the best in the tournament and she held herself excellently against Kagetsu and Jungle, but it sucks she'll be remembered for having the Ellering debacle that was not her fault at all.

    8. Saki Kashima (PSR: 3.12 - BM: Mayu Iwatani - WM: Jamie Hayter)

The numbers are skewed a bit since she had to forfeit a match due to injury, I would personally rank her lower than Tam Nakano and Nicole Savoy, but only slightly. There's a drop from Konami to her in my opinion. I would describe her tournament as solid, with one great match (Mayu) and one awful one (Hayter) and a lot of average in between. Even the Hayter match was due to her injury though. She looked good but there is something missing though I have to say. She could get passed by Hoshiki on the totem pole.

    9. Nicole Savoy (PSR: 2.92 - BM: Momo Watanabe - WM: Kelly Klein)

Of all the foreigners, she was the one I actually thought was kinda good, and she is kinda good. Her match with Io earlier this year proved that. I quite enjoyed her match vs. Momo which was by far her best. The tournament ended on her low note though and it's hard to see her fitting in long term. But I wouldn't object to her coming back at all, best of the foreigners.

    10. Tam Nakano (PSR: 2.92 - BM: Jungle Kyona - WM: Rachael Ellering)

Even though she lost a lot, there was a lot of storyline investment put into her this tournament. She was actually surprisingly decent in the ring, she's someone I'm personally not a huge fan of but she showed there is some substance behind her charisma and looks. I kinda dug her tournament and storyline actually, I feared she would get way overpushed but it didn't come to pass and they set up an intriguing angle with her and Hana. Let's hope her personal growth continues, and her match was Jungle was flat out GOOD STUFF. Way to go.

    11. Kelly Klein (PSR: 2.85 - BM: Mayu Iwatani - WM: Nicole Savoy)

Basically similar to Savoy though I don't think she reached quite as high as Savoy has in the past against Io and Momo. The upside is there though and again I would probably think of rolling the dice and bringing her back. Sidebar tournament overall if a bit low key.

    12. Natsu Sumire (PSR: 2.64 - BM: Mayu Iwatani - WM: Kelly Klein)

Stardom's most attractive person was all character as you would expect. That said, of the two in her Block that were that way I thought she was more effective than Hayter and she actually did better than I expected by a longshot as I usually think she's absolutely awful. I'm not sure if it was growth or a good mix of people, still, average is a huge win for Sumire and her match with Mayu was actually kind of recommendable. Good tournament from her considering my dirt poor expectations.

    13. Jamie Hayter (PSR: 2.56 - BM: Momo Watanabe - WM: Saki Kashima)

A breakout star to many foreign fans I have to admit she really wasn't my cup of tea...yet. Still she is very young and the upside is there clearly to be a really great wrestler and breakout candidate. She was much better than Xia Brookside that's for sure and she was still not embarrassing herself or anything, I'm hoping her strikes can get a little bit more snug in the future as for her style on offense she needs to tighten it up. I look forward to her future and how she grows!

    14. Natsuko Tora (PSR: 2.52 - BM: Jungle Kyona - WM: Rachael Ellering)

Very disappointing tournament. No matches at *** or better, and a disappointing match with Jungle, she was someone who could have been a breakout candidate going in but it just didn't come together at all no matter who she was matched with. I'm hoping for the best when it comes to JAN and hopefully teaming with her can help. Apparently the company has faith in her, since she just became double Champs with Jungle but I have to admit I wasn't overly impressed. Not bad bad mind you...just painfully average.

    15. Kimber Lee (PSR: 2.34 - BM: Kagetsu - WM: Rachael Ellering)

She was better than Ellering overall and didn't throw a hissy fit in the middle of a match and embarrass herself. That's about where the positives end. She shouldn't be brought back.

    16. Rachael Ellering: (PSR: 1.87 - Best Match: Kagetsu - Worst Match: Konami)
I thought Ellering was clearly the worst wrestler in the tournament and the fact she was alive on the final day was by far the worst decision making of the year for Stardom...well except for Toni being champion. Her match with Konami was awful and her temper tantrum and decision to end the match early after shooting on Konami. It was a complete embarrassment that should have been taken care of right away but because of white bias Ellering continues her push as is. She should never be brought back. That said, she did flash that she actually is a natural talent when she wants to be vs. Kagetsu, who guided her to her best match of her career on the second night...it was all downhill from there though. If she could capture more of that spark (Her match vs. Kagetsu was better by far than any of the matches wrestlers ranked Tam-Kimber had) she could be a really good wrestler but her lack of maturity keeps dragging her down. It is terrible to see.
I'm a good looking guy, but you show absolutely no interest in dating me! But...you're so nice to me.

Very disappointing tournament. I love you so much Zero and I'm happy I wasn't the only fellow who has been following the Grand Prix this year. I said months to another member here that shall unnamed that yes Io and Kairi are gone and it's taking a hit, but it's so strong right now with young talent and veteran talent it's scary. You said it with Utami her first Match was with Kyona and when I saw it I thought I hope she's going to in the Grand Prix. I don't know how old she is, but imagine her two or three years from now

I look at the talent and I'm happy you know Kagetsu has been doing well since taking away the Red Belt from Toni Storm, she was made for this moment and right now heel or face she has been a real contributor in the rebirth of Stardom the past 6 months or so.

I mean come now Momo and HZK neither is even in their prime let alone close to 25 and those two ladies to me are money. Now Momo needs to you know get away from that shyness and I think she will in time, but when she does man look out for her. Right now the money feud to me is Momo vs Mayu down the road for the Red Belt or White Belt. Momo has yet to beat Momo one on one and their history together before Momo's injury bringing it back to life...yeah they are holding back this feud again for us fans and when it happens we are going to see MOYC quality Matches like we saw just in a little taste in the Grand Prix.

You know last year gaijin to me didn't bring at all for the Grand Prix, but every one of those ladies to me gave it their all. Jamie Hayter is someone I'm looking to see more down the road, because I love her striking offense and she has that I'm going break you apart type of attitude. I remember when she did that Suplex that she turns into a backbreaker on her knees man that's rough to take at that height.

I'm glad you brought up Hana because I nearly fainted when I saw Hana taking out her former Oedo Tai friends choking out Kagetsu with a Chair. I thought it was weird she went to Mexico for months, came back and they were just going to stick her back doing the same thing as before. I said it before and I say it again Hana could be really good in the Ring if she's given the opportunity ant it seems she is getting it. I remember when Stardom had that Queen's Quest vs Oedo Tai where one would lose a member and it came down to Momo or Tam. I said before the Match wouldn't it be cool if Hana would be the one to be gone from the group and I'm getting my wish now.
