Yeah Rashford isn't going to go barring an injury so he benefits from being with the squad as he could be involved for the next 10 years.

Odd that Wigan seem to have been credited for the Will Griggs on fire chant, I remember Newcastle singing it about Mitro when they were up last December, so I don't think they started it. They've made it a hit though. Seems like it's doing the rounds now because we've knicked it for Leko.

    Short takes on England squad:

    It's a Hodgson squad

I wouldn't take Rashford but I totally understand why he's been brought in for this training period and friendly so Roy can take a look at him. Defoe is getting on and clearly his England career is over, no benefit to him going for a week and then getting cut before the Euros. If Welbeck is fit I don't think this pick happens.

Delph? I know Roy likes him but come on, surely one of the 3 cuts.

One of Henderson or Wilshire needs to be cut, can't take two big risks with their fitness. Drinkwater doesn't deserve to lose his place in the squad to both these two.

I really don't mind Townsend going to the Euros now he's actually playing regular football and impressed for Newcastle, and if you cut him we look short of natural width in the squad. I'd take him to have another option if nothing else.

Rooney in the squad I'm absolutely fine with, he's the captain, he's one of the only experienced players there, there's room for him in the 23. It's how Roy tries to fit him into the team that is going to be the big talking point.

You don't need 4 centre backs when Dier's also in the squad. I feel more comfortable with 3 centre backs, Dier and 2 right backs than 4 centre backs, Dier and just Clyne. Defence is our weakest area but not as bad as some people are making out.

Antonio is the harshest overlook, hope he knocks on the door again next season.

My 3 cuts would be Rashford, Henderson and Delph.

I think Delph will be the first one gone if Wilshere and/or Henderson are fit enough, it would have been a waste to bring somebody like Noble in if there's a 98% chance he will be cut, especially with him not being in any previous squads.

Yea Ed, a dirty, scummy, absolute pox-filled Irish club called Bohemians have been singing to the tune of Freed From Desire for a number of years now. They definitely aren't the first to do it, they've just seemingly done it the best.

He's only in the preliminary squad for the Belarus friendly so far. It's him or Liam Boyce for the final striker spot apparently. It'd be hard not to take Grigg on current form, but Boyce has been scoring a right few for Ross County as well.

Conor Washington lucky enough to be going based on his QPR form.

    And he scores goals...!
