    Disappointing, EC.

if not what can you suggest as settings (prestige, momentum, pop etc) for wcw and WWF as my other option is to edit the 1998 art of war mod I downloaded again. Thanks
Hive's Clash of the Titans starts in 1994. Good mod. Can't recall what month, though. Can find it on the Mod Squad Discord server.

First off, sucks to hear about ECW dying, but at least you made it last nearly as long as it did. Hopefully you can get USPW to rise up to Cult and not repeat the mistakes of the past.

Also, yep, James Mitchell is the manager of Bull Nakano and Bam Bam Bigelow. Just thinking about it, it's awesome.

There's really only one mod that takes place in 1999, Franchiser, but it's in January. It's Valadrix's 1999 - Turning Tides mods.

    99. I saw 94 when I read it this morning. Jesus, I can't post first thing in the morning anymore. Ignore the Clash of the Titans suggestion.

Yuri nailed it. There was a really nice work-in-progress 2000 mod for TEW 2013 but it never got finished or properly ported over. I toyed around with finishing it one point but its a fuck-ton of work TBH.

    Re: TEW 2016

This game is spinning out of control. Mankind just got fired from WWF for getting caught hiring prostitutes.

In other news, I think the gap between WCW and WWF is widening significantly. WCW recently asked fans to bring anti-WWF signs to the event but it backfired and they got a lot of pro-WWF signs instead. The list of guys WWF have hired over from WCW now includes Alex Wright, Juventud Guerrera, Goldberg and Mr. Perfect, to go along with Benoit, Malenko, Show, Hogan and Piper who they scooped up a while back. WCW still has a pretty good amount of top level talent but they're not even close to WWF in that regard and most of their main eventers, such as Bret Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Lex Luger, Randy Savage and Ric Flair, are most likely on the decline right now.

Here's an update on the champions of the big two...

    WWF

World Heavyweight: Triple H (first reign, defeated Hogan)
    Intercontinental: Farooq
    European: Samu
    Light Heavyweight: MEN's Teioh
Tag Team: Droz and X-Pac (second reign)

    WCW

    World Heavyweight: Sting
    United States: Stevie Ray
    Television: Ernest Miller
    Cruiserweight: Yun Yang
Tag Team: Ernest Miller and Glacier (guess Glacier is a comedy act now)

As for my own company, things are trucking along nicely, I've held about five events so far and they've all been C- which is more than good enough to boost my popularity each time. I had to fire Orton because he kept trying to fight people. I'm bringing in Takeshi Morishima to have a feud with Masato Tanaka and then Samoa Joe most likely, so I look forward to that.

    Re: TEW 2016

So been toying with an ECW save. Couldn't settle on the December 97 start date (Montreal Aftermath) or September 95 (War of the Worlds). The earlier date has some appeals - you can sign the likes of Steve Austin and The Rock. But I can't imagine you would keep them that long before the big boys would come calling. Plus, the War of the Worlds scales a bit higher with worker skills, so leaning toward 97.

EC, curious if you changed the Production levels with ECW in your save? I ran a few shows and lost money. But then I realized almost all of the production values could drop, except for Broadcast Quality, which had to go up. That looks like it will save a big chunk of money per show. And still well ahead of any rivals. I haven't run any shows since I made the change, but curious if this will help make the company profitable. Or lose less money, at least.

Hmmmmm. Not entirely sure. I want to say I set all my production values to the minimum that TNN would allow. But I could be wrong. Either way it seems like setting them to the minimum you can get by with would be the best way to save a little extra bread. No matter what, you're going to have to come up with something quick because, as I learned, that $500,000 you start out with runs out very quick.

    Re: TEW 2016

So using the resources I have for research etc. I have started modding the 1998 mod to make it more suitable for the time period around 1999. I’ve dropped WCW pop to no more than 55% in the US to give it approx real life crowds at the time. For nitro the test is showing around 4,000 fans. I’ve also dropped prestige to 75% and momentum to C. I’m toying with the idea of changing thunder into an A show because of ratings. I know you’ve played a similar time scale before Big P. What do you think so far?

It looks like they start out pretty high. I could drop everything a level without it being a problem for the existing networks, except for Broadcast Quality. That had to go up, which is why I even thought to look into it. If some of the things are adding $2-4K per show, that could be like an extra $40K per moth or more being spent unnecessarily. I mean, the idea of providing fans with a Professional Live Event experience is nice, but it doesn't make much difference in the game unless you are below a direct rival.

You've got a lot of work ahead of you if you want it running smooth. Good luck.

I'm actually thinking 55% might be too low for popularity. I'd say the company was still probably somewhere in the high 60s or low 70s. 55% is probably below where WCW was when it died. With that level of popularity, its going to bleed money (realistic), but unable to keep anyone (not that realistic) and probably get booted off its existing broadcast deals (sorta realistic). Honestly, I don't worry TOO MUCH about getting attendances right. There a lot of factors that go into the game calculating that. And popularity affects a ton of stuff, so I try to get it right as a whole and if the attendances are off a bit, so be it. But it depends on how you want to approach it. If you give them terrible Momentum, it may negatively impact crowds to a degree.

Depends on what you wanna do, TBH. I tend more towards the fictional mods or historical ones. Quite a few good historical ones for TEW10. Not sure if there are any current day mods still being updated regularly.

    Re: TEW 2016

Oh man, Death of the Territories are so good on about TEW 2008. Just brilliant. I don't know if the 2010 version is fully updated or just converted over. But could be great fun.

I'm in a bit of a save bounce mode. This tends to happen to me in Football Manager too. I just can't quite settle on what I want in a save so I keep starting and then abandoning until I find something that clicks.

I quite like the idea of booking ECW in the '98 period, but I really don't love the financial management that comes with it. I hate counting pennies in real life, and I certainly don't love it in a game. The realities of running a regional sized company - developing talent, losing that talent to bigger companies, repeat - gets old fast. I realize that's just a matter of mentality - you can view those signings as opportunities to build someone else up. But I just tend to get frustrated.

Been toying with a 1987 WWF save for a long time. Rich as hell, loads of stars, loads more I can sign up, a Sports Entertainment product (which I generally find fun and easy to book) and a fun period. But the size of the roster to start with, the schedule, and being moderate with new signings are all a challenge.

I keep finding appealing things with some of the bigger SE companies in both the Cverse and Tverse.

And now I'm mulling booking Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods, a New Japan like company in the Cverse. But running puroresu is a far cry from an SE company.

I just need to settle on something.

How about booking ECW in 1994? Plenty of talent still left, there's some big names in the company, and it's only in regional and doesn't have to worry much about competition.

An SMW save would be an interesting one. In my opinion, it's the one that should have survived between SMW and ECW.
