The Awesome Albums of 2016 Thread

Here's a link to the one from last year if anyone is unfamiliar: http://wrestlingclique.com/showthread.php?t=160822

We're a little over two months into the year and there's already tons of new musical content out there. You can use this thread to share what musical projects you are enjoying throughout 2016. Feel free to share content from whatever new album, mixtape or EP from 2016 that you like. You can also use this thread to talk about upcoming work that you're excited to see release this year.

Here's a list of some stuff I'm digging so far this year:

    David Bowie - Black Star

    Kanye West -
    The Life of Pablo

    Future -
    Purple Reign

    Future - EVOL

    Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered.

    Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz - ColleGrove

    Yung Lean
    - Warlord

I'll be honest. Aside from the Bowie record, I haven't really listened to a lot of new content this year, if not any. I heard some of the new Animal Collective and thought that was fine.

TLOP is worth illegally downloading after your Tidal trial runs out like mine did. The 2 Chainz/Lil Wayne album was surprising and surprisingly enjoyable. The new Kendrick Lamar is apparently just demos and stuff that got left off of To Pimp a Butterfly, but the shit is still really good.

New Animal Collective is actually pretty solid for the most part. Not their best work ever but definitely worth a few listens. The two songs released from Bob Mould's new album are both pretty good as well, looking forward to hearing the rest of it before I see him in May.

Oh yeah, new Bob Mould gets two thumbs up too. Always love more material from him.

Denzel Curry and Flatbush Zombies just released new albums. Both worth a listen if you are looking for rap that isn't as mainstream.

Iggy Pop's - Post Pop Depression just showed up in my mailbox earlier in the week. Iggy and Josh Homme working together. Homme playing most of the instruments, but also working with Dean Fertita from QOTSA. I haven't had a chance to listen to it, but will be checking it out soon. Two of my favorite people in music.

New Car Seat Headrest is rock solid.

Also, Andy Shauf's "The Party" and Sturgill Simpson's "A Sailor's Guide to Earth" are well worth checking out.

Car Seat Headrest was one of them too and I really love it as well Fooj.

I've been very Heavy into Anvil's latest album Anvil is Anvil for a few weeks now. Great Great stuff not as good as Juggernaut of Justice but Better than Hope in Hell was.

Also been listening to a lot of Jeff Scott Soto's latest album from his current band Soto called Divak Awesome Awesome Melodic Hard Rock.

Thrice is love, Thrice is life.

The new Architects album also fucking slays. Ariana Grande's new record might actually be my favorite of the year though.

Re: The Awesome Albums of 2016 Thread

Reviving this thread to give love to Frank Ocean's new album Blond. Man did it suck having to wait for a little over 4 years for Frank's new album but did he ever fucking deliver. It was nice to see another great Andre 3000 feature on this thing. I've mostly been playing the album start to finish the last 3 or 4 days. This is probably one of the few albums that I've listened to this year where there hasn't been 2 to 4 songs I constantly skip over. This will probably end up being my album of the year and I'd recommend everyone to check it out.

New La Coka Nostra is really good. I mean for the few people here that like underground hip hop. It's called Masters of the Dark Arts
