    Fox Broadcasting presents

Moon Knight Miniseries ~ Season 1 ~ Origins

"I am Moon Knight. The bearer of the mantle of Khonshu. Khonshu is the justice bringer. I am Vengeance." Moon Knight

As Fox Broadcasting carried on it's risky venture of miniseries for lesser known Marvel characters. So far it had a run of success as while the Defenders season was hit and miss for some, both Ghost Rider and Blade were well received by critics and fans alike. This led to Fox's next and possibly most brazen series yet as they promised to chronicle the origin story of a lesser known hero Marc Spector/Moon Knight (Charlie Hunnam). While compared to the rest of the heroes profiled so far Moon Knight in theory was a riskier gamble as he had never been featured before in a live action film or TV series. As with the other Fox shows things started out with a series of small clips focusing on the early days of Marc's life. Son to a Jewish Rabbi who fled Germany during World War 2. Along with his brother Randall Spector (Phillip Winchester) the Spector boys grew up in Chicago and faced some extreme prejudice. It was their pacifistic father's lack of action against this which turned both Marc and Randall into violent young men with Marc for his part becoming a successful heavyweight boxer in his youth before both he and Randall joined the military. Eventually the two would end up apart of covert CIA missions under the watchful eyes of the brash and thoroughly dislikable William Cross (Oliver Jackson Cohen). As the years passed both brothers were known for their violent tendencies but their relationship was forever shattered when Marc found out that Randall was using his position to smuggle weapons for profit. After a tense confrontation with Randall in which it what revealed that their superior William Cross was in on this ring. Marc tried to leave their task force only to be attacked by his brother in the middle of a mission. During this brawl it appeared that both brothers were more than prepared to take out any frustrations from their childhood on one another. This short brawl however would have a tragic end as an enraged Randall on seeing he was beaten looked to kill his brother with a grenade only for Marc to kick it back to him with the force of the blast sending Randall falling off of a cliff.

Going into the show there was some concerns as to just how effective the character of Moon Knight was to be handled. It has to be mentioned that throughout these clips of Marc Spector's life in the early stages while he was presented as an angry not to mention violent man. It was also shown that he was growing steadily more conflicted with his life especially following the death of his brother. Unfortunately for Marc there was no way out as he was blackmailed and manipulated by the smarmy William Cross into joining the mercenary unit that Randall was secretly apart of. In this unit along with Cross was two key figures in Spector's past one being Jean-Paul DuChamp/Frenchie (Jacky Ido) and the other being Raoul Bushman (Raymond Cruz). These two characters were stark comparisons as while in Frenchie, Marc Spector gained his first true friend and trusted ally. The parallel was Bushman who along with Cross proved to be a strong antagonist. An added mention here has to be in the relationship between Cross and Bushman as while the two men worked together there was a stark contrast between the two and a constant tension indicating the chance of a fractured relationship. This was down to the professional, charming, vain, con man like approach of Cross as opposed to the erratic, unstable, violent not too mention chemically imbalanced Bushman. With Bushman's erratic behavior it didn't take long for him and Spector to clash with it all coming to a head in the Sudan. As the group of mercenaries come across Archaeologists Peter Alraune (Ben Cross) and his daughter Marlene (Mercedes Mason). The two had discovered a temple in the desert and after having their camp raided by the mercenaries were forced to take them there. All the while Raoul Bushman developed a twisted obsession with Marlene which only furthered Marc's disgust.

On reaching the temple and discovering many ancient artifacts as well as the statue of Khonshu. Bushman and Cross began taking what they could all the while Peter Alraune and his daughter looked on. Pleading to simply let them go and promising to remain silent Peter's promises fell on deaf ears as Bushman made the decision to execute him on the spot. This sparked a furious argument with Spector and Bushman all the while Frenchie comforted the distraught Marlene. Cross for his part focused on his greed said that what has been done has been done and that they cannot leave her alive to tell the tale. Rather than kill Marlene right away however Bushman ordered Frenchie to take her to his tent as he wanted to have some fun first. Walking outside with Frenchie and Marlene, Spector stated that this is not what he signed up for. With Frenchie in agreement that they cannot do this instead Frenchie urged Spector to come with him as he got Marlene to safety. However instead Spector promised to buy them time to get away. Returning to his tent that night Raoul Bushman found Marc Spector waiting for him instead and a fight broke out between the two. While Spector had proven to be a great fighter in the past he was no match for Bushman here with Raoul delivering a brutal beating during which he broke several of the bones in Spector's body. With Spector beaten and broken, Bushman would leave Spector for dead in the desert.

Concerned about his friend's well being Frenchie along with an equally concerned Marlene Alraune would venture out into the desert in search of Spector. Finding the severely injured Marc the duo brought him back to the temple looking to at least give Marc a more settled place of rest. But in their decision to lay Marc down by the statue of Khonshu came the moment which altered all of their lives forever. As while Marc may have died on that day it was only temporary as he was visited by the god Khonshu (Mark Margolis) himself in a vision. After taunting Marc a little about how he flourished in violence but it was his need to be good that got him killed. Khonshu offered Marc Spector a deal. The deal would offer Marc a chance to live once again on the condition that he acts as Khonshu's personal spirit of vengeance on earth. After accepting the offer Spector to the shock of the grieving Frenchie and Marlene was brought back to life with a new purpose in life. With a need to make things right and redeem himself as well as honor his deal with Khonshu, Spector would don a costume and go under the name of Moon Knight in an effort to appease Khonshu.

To the writers and the actor's in the shows' credit, there was also a long running notion that Marc may not have died that night and instead a near death experience caused him to lose his mind with these so called visions of Khonshu replacing parts of his damaged mind. Returning to the United States for the first time since he was a kid. Marc Spector took drastic lengths in order to fight a war against evil. Accompanied by his long time friend Frenchie and his now girlfriend Marlene Alraune. Spector used all of his ill gotten gains and funds from his mercenary days to create not one but two alternate identities for himself. It was in portraying these identities we saw the full range of actor Charlie Hunnam. With the first identity being Steven Grant; A millionaire, playboy, entrepreneur and high roller. As Grant, Spector was able to affiliate himself with the high rollers and the elite of New York. This would prove fruitful later on as Spector learned that many of the crimes in the city were funded by people he would meet at functions. To further this pretense as Grant, Spector hired two key members of staff who would also later prove to be trusted confidants. The first of which was his house keeper Nedda (Jennifer Ehle) who also acted as medical support when needed. While the other member of his staff Samuels (Kevin Corrigan) may have to the untrained eye appeared to be just a butler. Proved to be a great source of intel to Spector while also helping him craft his persona as Grant.

"I've devoted most of my life under the mantle of Moon Knight in order to atone for the sins of my youth as a mercenary. Not to mention the blood I spilled."
    Marc Spector

Steven Grant may have been the man to depend on when Marc Spector needed to infiltrate the elite of the elite. But there were places where the money of Grant would not help him. Which is where Spector's other alias of Jake Lockley came into play. A New York City cab driver who is often down on his luck and very gruff. Lockley was able to frequent places where Steven Grant would not dare to tread. This includes the humble establishment Gena's Diner which was run by Gena Landers (Tawny Cypress). While at first things between Landers and Lockley were strictly professional as time went on Jake was able to befriend the diner owner making her one of his trusted sources of information. Along with Gena was Bertrand Crawley (Ian McElhinney). Crawley, a well spoken and intelligent homeless man proved to be a valuable source of information for Jake Lockley and he lead to his most critical source of information so far in Detective Flint (Jeffrey Vincent Parise). Flint unlike a lot of the other officers so far shown in the Marvel Series' was a man very much on his way out. No longer proud of the force or the job he had done Flint had a need to truly make a difference which is where Marc Spector came in. Under the guise of Mister Knight and dressed in his Moon Knight costume Spector met with the Detective one night in secret.

After warning Moon Knight of the formation of an anti vigilante task force, Flint stated that he's been on this job so long now that he knows there are things the police cannot handle. But before he can really give Moon Knight those sort of things he needs to see if he is truly able to perform. Calling it a test run Flint gave Moon Knight the case of a high end art thief who strikes at Midnight earning him the moniker of the Midnight Man. Says the odd thing about this thief is that once he has stolen these high end works of art he never sells them on. Nodding his head Moon Knight makes it clear that he will take him down. After talking with Frenchie and Samuels following his meeting with Flint, Spector came to the realization that the reason this thief known as the Midnight Man didn't sell on the art he stole was because he kept them for himself. Which in turn in Spector's mind meant he must not need the money. This would lead to Marc going under his Steven Grant alias and begin attending multiple fund raisers among the elite and high rollers of New York. On becoming a regular attendee of these events Grant would find himself associating with many of the upper class including philanthropist Philip Russell (Patrick Fabian) as well as Anton Mogat (Matt Mullins).

Both of these men would be key meetings for Grant with the reason for Russell being explained much later while at an art exhibit Mogat drew the suspicions of Grant as potentially being the Midnight Man. Also appearing at the art exhibition was Frenchie who was posing as a businessman himself. The inclusion of Frenchie came after a heart to heart discussion between DuChamp and Spector in which Frenchie stated that like Marc he had some atoning to do. Which is why just like old times he can be his pilot, this would then lead to the unveiling of what Frenchie had been working on to get Moon Knight around quickly The Mooncopter. But while things with Frenchie remained strong Marc's relationship with Marlene grew strained as Alraune became worried for Marc's well being. Despite her concerns however Marc was fully committed to his quest as Moon Knight. With a lead on the Midnight Man and the knowledge of the art exhibit still in mind Moon Knight had his first official night as a vigilante in New York. Armed with his crescent darts and a truncheon Moon Knight arrived at the exhibit late into the night and found himself confronted by Anton Mogat/Midnight Man. Calling himself an acquirer and appreciator of fine works of art Midnight Man was thoroughly in the belief that what he was doing was right. This led to our first Moon Knight fight scene of the series and it showed us so far the most reckless not to mention dangerous hero to have been shown in all of the Fox shows. With no interest in defending or avoiding attacks Moon Knight fought like a man possessed with no fear of injury. His brutality overwhelming it didn't take long for Moon Knight to knock Midnight Man to the ground following a series of short elbows to the head. As Midnight Man remains on the floor in a groggy state a conflicted Marc Spector froze as in the first of many internal battles between him and Khonshu. Deriding and taunting Spector as he wouldn't settle for anything less than death. Khonshu's demands caused Spector to hesitate which allowed Midnight Man to kick out Moon Knight's legs knocking him to the floor.

Looking to flee Midnight Man jumped out of a nearby window all the while Khonshu berated Spector. Chasing after Midnight Man who desperately jumped down an open manhole before looking to escape through the sewer. Pursuing Midnight Man, Moon Knight was able to fire off his grappling hook from the truncheon towards the legs of Midnight Man. Tripping up from the hook Midnight Man staggers to his feet when a superman punch by Spector sends him tumbling down a large sewer pipe. With no sign of the body and no reports of Mogat washing up. It was believed that Mogat died down in the sewers. Struggling with the guilt of his part in this Spector continued to be taunted and branded worthless by Khonshu. These troubles would cause Marc to further distance himself from Marlene but adding to his troubles will be the anti vigilante task force. Headed by Ryan Trent (Pilou Asbaek), the dogged detective was absolutely dead set on bringing down all the vigilantes he could. Starting with this new white clad vigilante Moon Knight.

Throwing himself further into his alter egos following the death of Midnight Man, it was as Steven Grant that Marc found his next target. Attending a late night party headed by Philip Russell, Steven was disgusted on seeing several of the prostitutes looking to be drugged up if not underage. To it's credit Fox's marvel series didn't shy away from this as Steven began talking to a particularly messed up girl (Emily Kinney - Guest Star) who begged for escape. Promising he'd do what he can Grant was given a name of someone called Snapdragon. Reaching out to several of his contacts in different guises Mister Knight would speak with Detective Flint as he mentioned what he knew of Snapdragon. Promising to get him more Knight was clearly stung a little when Flint told him not to kill this one. After stating it was an accident the troubled Knight would flee. Resurfacing later that night as Jake Lockley, a visit to Gena's diner gave Marc his most promising lead yet as Gena was able to reveal that she knows several girls who went missing. Said a lot of them are held down at the docks.

"You still don't get it do you? the more that you push me down, the bigger I grow. I gave you everything and in return you think that you can ignore me. Don't forget I know who you really are!" Khonshu

Having been mentioned previously we finally got our look at Snapdragon (Grace Park). As she calmly walked down past a series of trucks each with several girls trapped in the back. Snapdragon and her men prepared to head on out but as she ordered the trucks out she would be stunned to find all of her drivers knocked out with crescent like scars carved into their heads. With her remaining men taking up their weapons as she herself grabbed a gun, Snapdragon and her men would be quickly overwhelmed by Moon Knight who brutally broke bones and incapacitated all of Snapdragon's men. Despite finding herself out match Snapdragon while at first a one note character gave a impressive speech as she called herself a necessary evil. Revealing how she was once in one of these cages Snapdragon said her experiences made her tough and she clawed her way to the top. Despite this little speech turning her from a one note character into a fascinating potential villain. Sadly this would be the final appearance of Snapdragon as she was knocked out by Moon Knight who left her and her operation dismantled waiting for the police to come.

While Snapdragon may have seemed like a potential long running villain whose potential was wasted. But in the closing moments of that episode we got our first proper look at just who our main antagonists would be. As on hearing that an operation he bankrolled had been brought down a panicked Philip Russell made a conference call with two men who had appeared early on in the show William Cross and Raoul Bushman. Despite his concerns about this new vigilante neither Bushman or Cross appeared that concerned with this threat. As Bushman still true to his reckless nature offered to send a bunch of mercenaries into the city and tear it apart only for Cross to calmly suggest using more tact. With that Cross mentioned for Russell to hire Quinn as he said if anyone can handle it he can. With the call finished Russell reached out to Quinn as well as someone else he referred to only as The Profile as he claimed he wanted to bring an end to Moon Knight. Little did Russell know that the biggest threat to Moon Knight would be Moon Knight himself. Continuing to be mocked and taunted by Khonshu and his desire to kill. Marc Spector began nearing the point of a breakdown. In an effort to try and help him Marlene tried to reach Marc and implored him to seek help. But when Marc lashed out and nearly hurt her she had no choice but to leave him in the care of Samuels and Nedda.

Continuing his investigation into Moon Knight, Ryan Trent showed he would resort to any tactic in order to bring down Moon Knight. This included him giving all the case files and statements about the vigilante to the shady investigator known as The Profile (Gethin Anthony). But it wouldn't be just Profile who finally appeared having been mentioned as on one night of crime fighting Moon Knight began to head back to the Mooncopter when he was confronted by the arrogant Mr.Quinn (Warren Cole) and a group of mercenaries. Despite being a dangerous and well equipped crew the Mercenaries soon found themselves over matched by the brutality and unpredictability of Moon Knight. With his men down Mr.Quinn narrowly escaped all the while from a nearby rooftop a concerned Profile contacted Russell before informing him that this was a lot worse than they expected. Meeting with Detective Flint that night and giving him the name Mr.Quinn. Moon Knight was informed that Quinn is a high end assassin and that whoever is bankrolling him has to be well connected. As he parted ways with Moon Knight Flint warned him that Quinn would not stop until he killed him.

Angered following his first ever defeat in an uncharacteristic move Mr.Quinn contacted Russell before informing him that this job is now personal and he'll do it for free. Looking for a rematch it didn't take long for Quinn to get it as he and Moon Knight took part in a hard hitting and bloody fight with Quinn at first proving to be a formidable threat to Moon Knight until Moon Knight managed to break one of his legs. Before Quinn could reach for his gun Moon Knight then snapped Quinn's arm before he pummeled his face. Just as it looked like Marc might give into Khonshu and kill him, He instead stopped himself and chose to mark Quinn's forehead like he had with previous victims. Fleeing into a nearby alleyway Moon Knight unmasked as he could hear the voice of Khonshu berating him. But what snapped him out of this was a flash of a camera. On seeing Profile fleeing Moon Knight chased him up to the top of a building and grabbed him by his jacket. A panicking Profile pleaded for his life as he tried to sell himself claiming he could get him information. Eventually having terrified Profile, Moon Knight destroyed the investigator's phone before telling him that he worked for him now.

Following the failing of Mr.Quinn and the disappearance of Profile both William Cross and Raoul Bushman began to take Moon Knight seriously as a threat. Both informing Russell that they would be arriving to the city it wouldn't just be them who was angered with Moon Knight's growing profile. As in disgust as police officers praising Moon Knight for taking down Snapdragon and Quinn, an irate Ryan Trent following a heated argument with Flint tossed his badge on the ground before quitting the force. Meanwhile eager to please his new 'boss' The Profile met with both Marc Spector and Frenchie. Calling his turn of allegiance to their side purely for self preservation the profile was quick to inform them that it was Philip Russell who had hired him. With the name of Philip Russell in his head Marc Spector decided it would be time to pay him a visit. Unfortunately this led to another crisis between him and Khonshu with Khonshu demanding blood only for Spector to instead counter that he needed to use tact to find out just what Russell's endgame was. Visiting Russel's company as Steven Grant, Spector had to deal with the cautious and suspicious Philip Russell. While the two had never been overly friendly during their previous meetings, it was clear here that Russell did harbor some resentment towards Grant. Looking to mend fences and gain the trust of Russell, Grant explained that he was looking to secure investments or more specifically investments that he could do away from the public eye so to speak. With a smirk on his face Russell appeared to have an understanding for what Grant needed and said he knew just the man.

Before Grant could ask any questions Russell introduced him to Steven Grant. Fortunately for Steven, the still brash and confident William Cross did not recognize him as Marc Spector. Once a rogue CIA operative Cross is now revealed to have firmly embraced his criminal routes as he confirms that he is now heavily involved in weapon smuggling as well as the drug trade. Claiming to always be looking for new investors William Cross gives Steven Grant a business card before telling him to have his people contact his people so that they could do lunch. With that Grant leaves as Cross drops his arrogant facade and turns to a bewildered Russell. Quizzically Russell asks if Cross is serious about having Grant as an investor. When much to Russell's relief Cross states that over the years he has gotten involved with numerous businessmen looking for the cheap thrill of being a criminal and it all ends the same way with him taking everything they have then sending them on their way with a bullet. Stunned following his close call with William Cross, Marc Spector began to put two and two together as to Russell's operation as he spoke with Frenchie. In an effort to continue to build trust with Detective Flint, Moon Knight met with the detective and gave him everything he had on both Philip Russell as well as William Cross.

Unfortunately for the police while they prepared for these stings a surprising source would act as a tip off for Philip Russell. Showing just how far he'd fallen since quitting the force and the lengths he was willing to go to Ryan Trent not only tipped off Russell that the police where coming for him but also helped him make an escape out of New York City. Although in a surprising move despite the show of respect between the two men in the past Russell showed his true colors in neglecting to tell William Cross that the police were coming for him as well. As Police began to raid the docks where Cross and his men were taking a shipment of weapons a shoot out began between the cops and the criminals. Slowly with a rejuvenated Detective Flint leading the charge the police managed to win the ensuing shootout with William Cross graphically surviving despite being shot directly through the left eye. While taking down Cross may have been a big moment for the city as was the departure of Russell who was now exposed of a financier of crime. There was a consequence to this action and that was there was no one to bring stability to the maniacal Raoul Bushman. Using the remaining money from his empire to find and hire mercenaries the enraged Bushman made it clear that he had no issue in burning down all of New York to get what he wants. In his research into Moon Knight, Bushman showed that while still as chemically imbalanced and volatile as ever. He was also resourceful as he was able to recognize the symbol Moon Knight carved into his victims head as ones he saw in the temple of Khonshu. Later that day in visiting the home of Philip Russell and executing the officers left to investigate the scene. Bushman began going through all the records kept by Russell when he came across a business card of Steven Grant.

Not recognizing the name Bushman had one of his men do research into Grant. On seeing some publicity photos of the philanthropist Bushman begins to smirk as he recognizes not only Marc Spector but also Frenchie in another. Thanks to the help of his men Raoul Bushman was able to find the address of Steven Grant's penthouse leading to one of the tensest moments in the series. As Raoul Bushman and a group of mercenaries would storm the home of Steven Grant. While Grant himself wasn't there at this time of night unfortunately Nedda, Samuels and Frenchie where. With the mercenaries attacking under Raoul's order without guns Samuels and Nedda each received a brutal beating while Frenchie was able to raise alarm hitting a panic button. Unfortunately for Frenchie he would be confronted by Bushman who brutally beat him in an uncomfortable scene. With all three incapacitated Bushman had Nedda, Samuels and Frenchie all bound to chairs as he spoke of torturing them. Sadly in a case of worst timing going Marlene Alraune would return to the suite looking to speak with Marc only to be confronted by a grinning Bushman. Reminding her that they never did quite get to finish that night last time Bushman aggressively struck Marlene across the face before he prepared to drag her by the hair towards the bedroom. But just as he neared the bedroom door the lights to the building would go out. Bursting in through the window fully illuminated by his white attire Moon Knight attacked Bushman and the mercenaries. Ordering his men to kill him the mercs looked to begin firing but this time it seemed that after all the deliberation, Marc Spector had for once given into Khonshu.

Striking down and killing all of the mercenaries until it was just him and Bushman. Moon Knight drove himself into Bushman the force of which would send the two men crashing through the window and down into the pool on the ground floor. After a few punches traded back and forth under water the two emerged and began to take their fight into the streets. Again like their first fight this one was a brutal and bloody affair with the rain fall adding to the ambiance of the occasion. While in the first battle he was the stronger and more aggressive of the two Raoul Bushman as the fight went on this time clearly struggled with the sheer reckless style of Moon Knight. After brutally snapping the arm of Bushman and kicking out his legs Moon Knight wrapped an arm around his neck tightly putting him in a rear naked choke while using his free hand and one of the crescent darts to viciously begin removing the face of Bushman. In what was truly a gory scene this act would kill Bushman all the while a delighted Khonshu could be heard complimenting Spector. In a contrast to the other marvel shows which ended on a happy note. Moon Knight instead stuck to it's uneasy theme as Marc Spector shared a farewell with Marlene Alraune who refused to be apart of this side of his life. Stating that the longer he does this the more he becomes like men like Bushman Marlene makes it clear that she will not be apart of that before kissing him on the cheek and leaving. Meanwhile in the closing scene after severing ties with Mister Knight by way of text Detective Flint now at the head of the vigilante task force begins the hunt for Moon Knight.

Continuing the trend of the Marvel shows was the post credit scenes this time highlighting not one but two potential plot points for season 2. The first of which had Philip Russell thank Ryan Trent for his assistance before inviting him to join what he hopes will be a newer and stronger committee. Trent didn't seem interested in that as he instead asked if what he wanted was ready. With a smirk on his face Russell informed Trent that his suit is almost complete. The other scene showed Marlene Alraune a few weeks after parting ways with Marc Spector getting back into her roots as an archaeologist. As she takes part in her latest dig with her team Marlene is met by a man claiming to be a fellow colleague. With his back to the screen the man begins to talk about how he knew her father. Slowly a reveal is done on the man she is talking to revealing Randall Spector!

    Re: Marvel

Moon Knight season 2 confirmed ~ Synopsis revealed ~ Characters confirmed

With Moon Knight's first season currently airing and receiving positive reviews mainly for it's brutal violence as well as it's willingness to not shy away from the mental illness aspect of the character. It can be confirmed that a second season of the show has now been confirmed with the season very much continuing on two plot points from the first season. The first will be Philip Russell along with Ryan Trent/Black Spectre and their efforts to bring down the vigilante as well as reform the committee. While the other plot point teased is the return of Randall Spector and just what intentions he holds in regards to his brother.

    Corey Hawkins as Ricky Landers
The eldest son of Gena Landers, Ricky Landers is very much a humanitarian as he spends a lot of his free time working in homeless shelters. A trusted friend of Jake Lockley and Bertrand Crawley. Ricky is quick to warn Bertrand about the killer targeting the homeless. Playing the role of Ricky will be the Walking Dead actor Corey Hawkins

Tyler James Williams as Ray Landers
The younger son of Gena Landers, Ray Landers is just returning home from serving in the army when he first meets Jake Lockley. While unsure of his mother's new friend. Quickly the two bond over the time they have served. Playing the role of Ray will be the walking dead actor Tyler James Williams.

Jaime Murray as Scarlet Fasinera/Stained Glass Scarlet
With a crackdown on vigilantes following the action of Moon Knight. Unsurprisingly some of the other vigilantes out there see him as a threat as opposed to a hero. One of which is the delusional and dangerous Stained Glass Scarlet. A former nun who was driven insane after murdering her own son on discovering he was a criminal. Scarlet has began to target all those she felt responsible for her son's corruption. Playing Scarlet will be Dexter actress Jaime Murray.

Xavier Samuel as Peter Alraune Jr
Unlike his father Peter Alraune Sr and his sister Marlene Alraune. Peter Alraune Jr went into a different line of work as opposed to archaeology. A skilled doctor and geneticist Alraune is constantly focused on helping people even if he has to put himself in danger to do so. Playing the role of Alraune will be Twilight actor Xavier Samuel.

    Joe Anderson as Robert Markham
A high roller, gambler and entrepreneur Robert Markham is a man that is very much living the dream life. At least to the untrained eye as secretly Markham is hiding a dark secret. Dying for a viral infection affecting his DNA, Markham is desperately looking for a cure. Playing the role of Markham will be Hannibal actor Joe Anderson.

    Nick Jonas as Jeffrey Wilde/Midnight
A young man who for some unknown reason has undertaken the guise of Midnight Man following it's previous placeholders' failing. Jeffrey Wilde while a skilled thief in his own right is said to lack the finesse of Anton Mogat. Playing the role of Wilde will be actor and singer Nick Jonas.

    Danay Garcia as Sandahl Swarn
A former employee of AIM turned devout woman of faith. Sandahl Swarn's life changed forever when she met Randall Spector. Since that day the woman of science became a devout follower of Khonshu. Playing the role for Swarn will be Fear the Walking Dead actress Danay Garcia.

    Ty Olsson as The Razor
In anger at being exposed thanks to Moon Knight's actions, Philip Russell hires a dangerous assassin known as The Razor to get revenge on Moon Knight. A sociopathic killer with a penchant for bladed weaponry it is believed in the past that Razor was an interrogator explaining his fondness of blades. Playing Razor will be Twilight actor Ty Olsson.

    Rihanna as Elisa Warsame
Looking to continue the story of Marc Spector's mental illness a new potential ally and confidant of his has been added to the cast. With growing concern about his mental condition both Samuels and Nedda bring in Elisa Warsame a psychiatrist in order to help him with his issues. Playing the role of Warsame will be singer and actress Rihanna.

    Gil McKinney as Jimmy Crawley
The long lost son of Bertrand Crawley, Jimmy Crawley is a troubled young man who harbors a great resentment for his father. This is said to have been formed following the death of his mother. On finding that his father was part of the homeless community. Crawley looked to find his father but not for the sake of reconnecting. Instead arming himself with a knife and looking to kill his father, Jimmy earns himself the name the Slasher after leaving a wake of bodies in his path. Playing Jimmy will be Supernatural actor Gil McKinney.

    Alain Moussi as White Dragon
In defeating Snapdragon and disbanding the criminal enterprise of the committee. A power vacuum has allowed men like the White Dragon to rise. A ruthless triad boss with ties to prostitution and drugs, Dragon is very much a chip of the block left by Snapdragon. Playing the role of Dragon will be kickboxer Alain Moussi.

    Wes Bentley as Carson Knowles
Following the exposition of the committee and Philip Russell's part being out there for the world to know. A lot of changes have taken place in New York. Re: Marvel

The Punisher series begins filming ~ Synopsis revealed ~ Characters confirmed to appear

Continuing on the spate of Miniseries' as of late will be Fox Marvel's next entry which will focus on Frank Castle/The Punisher (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Unlike Blade, Ghost Rider and Moon Knight who have recently had their miniseries. The Punisher has in fact appeared in the Fox Marvel Universe already in the second season of Spiderman. In that season Frank Castle was out for revenge following the death of his family and in his 'investigation'. He would find that the men responsible for the hit where apart of his unit in Vietnam in Hitman (Rob Sedgewick), Sniper (Jeffrey Pierce) and Schoonover (Chance Kelly) respectively. Thanks to assistance from longtime associate David Lieberman/Microchip (David Costabile) as well as police officer and ally Martin Soap (Eddie Marsan). Castle was able to eliminate these threats while also being responsible for the deaths of criminals The Russian (Semmy Schilt) and Barracuda (Thomas Q Jones). Along with this Castle was also in part credited with the arrest of Billy Russo/Jigsaw (Michael Eklund). It was during all of this Castle found out that the soldiers he killed were working with the Gnucci crime family. Now with a new target in his quest for revenge Frank Castle will find himself up against one of the most powerful crime families in New York as well as facing the potential wrath of it's allies. Also already cast to appear in this season are Ma Gnucci (Katey Sagal) and Nicky Cavella (Tahmoh Penikett).

Christopher Lloyd as Don Carlo Cervello
Currently locked up in Riker's Island. Don Carlo Cervello was at one stage one of the most feared gangsters in all of New York. That is until he was arrested in a sting which was believed to have been helped set up by Ma Gnucci. In a true testament to the enemy of my enemy is my friend Cervello reaches out to Castle in an effort to help him take down the family. The question is can Cervello truly be trusted. Playing Cervello is back to the future star Christopher Lloyd.

Nick E Tarabay as Nolo Contendre
A chief assassin who has a loyalty to the highest bidder only. Nolo Contendre is a man who has at one stage or the other committed a hit for all the crime families in New York. Playing the role of Contendre will be Spartacus actor Nick E Tarabay.

    Finn Wittrock as Carlo Gnucci
The favorite as well as youngest son of Ma Gnucci. Carlo Gnucci is a chip off the old block in many ways in that he is just as violent and commands as much respect as his mother. Smart, charming and very much a bit of a playboy. Carlo is believed to be the heir apparent should his mother ever choose to step down. Playing Carlo will be American Horror Story actor Carlo Gnucci.

    Devon Graye as Bobby Gnucci
The middle brother of the Ma Gnucci's sons. Bobby Gnucci doesn't command the same amount of respect as his brothers thanks to his more twisted 'fetishes' not to mention his at points cowardly behavior. Despite this no one messes with Bobby out of fear of his mother or his brothers. Playing Bobby Gnucci will be Flash actor Devon Graye.

    Julian Ovenden as Eddie Gnucci
The eldest of the Gnucci brothers there was a time when the educated and charming Eddie Gnucci was the supposed heir to Gnucci throne. That is until a drug addiction very much ruled Eddie out of such a role. Despite the knowledge at points that Eddie abuses his name and skims from the pot to fund his habit. No one will cross Eddie out of fear of his mother. Playing Eddie will be downton abbey star Julian Ovenden.

    Tracy Spiridakos as Joan
One of the tenants in the apartment building where Frank Castle rents a room. Joan is a shy and timid girl who was terrified of the violent city she was living in. Wishing to live in a more peaceful place but lacking the money to do so. Joan's fear is complicated by the feelings she begins to develop for Frank Castle. Playing Joan will be Revolution actress Tracy Spiridakos.

    Craig Ricci Shaynak as Mr.Bumpo
An overweight resident of the apartment complex along with Joan and Spacker Dave. Nathaniel Bumpo/Mr.Bumpo is a friendly resident who tries to be civil with John Smith aka Frank Castle but cannot help but be intimidated by the new tenant. Playing the role of Bumpo will be Ray Donovan actor Craig Ricci Shaynak.

Jamie Campbell Bower as Spacker Dave
An avid superhero fan it didn't take Spacker Dave long to recognize the man living in his apartment complex under the alias John Smith was Frank Castle. A superhero spotter Dave very much keeps a low profile doing little else but gaming and hanging out about the building's doorstep. Playing Dave will be Twilight actor Jamie Campbell Bower.

    Jason Flemyng as Charlie Schitti
A low level member of the Gnucci crime family. For most part Charlie Schitti has been written off as a joke by a majority of the family. This means that Charlie is left with menial jobs and is also the usual one called when it comes to disposing of bodies. Playing Schitti will be X Men actor Jason Flemyng.

    Joel Gretsch as Curtis Hoyle
Another member of Frank Castle's platoon in Vietnam. Curtis Hoyle is one of the few remaining members of Castle's unit alive. Similar to the rest of the crew Hoyle is corrupt and affiliated with the Gnucci crime family. Portraying Curtis Hoyle will be V actor Joel Gretsch.

    Tom Mison as William Rawlins
A legacy in the CIA with his father being a reputed agent. William Rawlins had a lot of doors opened for him early on thanks to this. Unfortunately unlike his father who was by all accounts a man of honor. William Rawlins is a shady individual willing to play any angle. Playing the role of Rawlins will be Sleepy Hollow star Tom Mison.

    Lauren German as Kathryn O'Brien
An agent of the CIA who unfortunately for her is paired with ex husband William Rawlins. Kathryn O'Brien is sent to New York in an effort to capture both the Punisher and Microchip. Very much a straight shooter Kathryn O'Brien learned as this mission went on there was more to their orders than William had let on. Playing the role of O'Brien will be Lucifer actress Lauren German.

    Michael Mcelhatton as Pittsy
The older half in Nicky Cavella's group of enforcers/bodyguards. Carmine 'Pittsy' Gazzera has long been in this life of crime as he formerly worked under Ray the Rat until he was killed by Cavella. Although he may have sworn loyalty to Nicky, Pittsy is very much tired of the life and he displays this with his openly antagonistic behavior. Playing the role of Pittsy will be Game of Thrones actor Michael McElhatton.

    Aramis Knight as Ink
Along with his associate Pittsy, Ink is one half of Nicky Cavella's group of bodyguards/enforcers. The more sadistic of the duo Ink is very much a wild card in Nicky's operation. Preferring to let his actions speak over his words Ink rarely talks and instead just acts usually in the form of violence. Playing Ink will be Into the Badlands actor Aramis Knight.

    Morris Chestnut as Magnity
An afro-irish Crime Lord in Hell's Kitchen. Magnity is in a reluctant partnership with Finn Cooley. Despite the two men's personality clashes they do agree on a couple of things. Namely they both crave more power for their mob while also wishing to see the Punisher dead. Playing Magnity will be American Horror Story actor Morris Chestnut.

    Liam Cunningham as Finn Cooley
A greedy former IRA explosives expert. Rumor has it that Finn Cooley wears some form of prosthesis in his face following an explosion of one of his own devices. While bed bound Finn was offered an inheritance in the US as well as a spot in a Irish American crime family. Taking the money on his way to the states and bringing his nephew with him. All Finn craves now is more power and more money and he will do whatever he has to in order to get it. Playing Finn will be Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham.

    Oliver Stark as Peter Cooley
An ambitious former member of the IRA, it is safe to say that Peter Cooley was disgusted when the faction began peace talks. After his uncle Finn headed to America having received a stake in a crime family. Peter followed his uncle overseas in an effort to make money and fund his violent ambitions. Playing Peter will be Into the Badlands actor Oliver Stark.

    Ulrich Thomsen as Tiberiu Bulat
Born in Romania, the sociopathic Tiberiu Bulat grew up in a world of violence and he didn't just love it. He absolutely thrived in the brutal world. After his time running a mercenary unit with his son Cristu. Tiberiu and his boy fled to America to avoid NATO. While there Tiberiu used his skills to become a gangster and found he loved the life without looking back. Playing Tiberiu will be Banshee actor Ulrich Thomsen.

    Zach Appleman as Cristu Bulat
The son of Tiberiu Bulat, Cristu was originally in charge of a mercenary unit which used the Bosnian War to further their own end. Since coming to America along with his father Tiberiu and lover Vera Konstantin. The trio has set up a disturbing international sex trafficking ring. Playing the role of Cristu will be Sleepy Hollow actor Zach Appleman.

    Dakota Fanning as Vera Konstantin
The lover of Cristu Bulat. One would expect such a young girl to be intimidated in being part of a crime family. Instead the sadistic Konstantin has been at the forefront of their prostitution ranks with her disturbing ideas on how to gain total compliance from their girls. Playing Vera will be Twilight actress Dakota Fanning.

    Re: Marvel

    Fox Broadcasting Presents

    Punisher Miniseries ~ Season 1 ~ Origins

It may be safe to say in the run up to the fourth season of the Spiderman series. That where the Fox Marvel Series has truly came into it's own has been during it's spate of miniseries. While the Defenders series got somewhat mixed reviews thanks to it's early difficulties balancing such a huge cast. The group of programs after it namely Blade, Ghost Rider and Moon Knight were all very well received by viewers. As they each stood apart from the other series' out there for their different tones with Blade being a horror story of sorts, Ghost Rider focusing on supernatural elements while Moon Knight very much prominently brought a mental health aspect into it's character. Along with these three series came the final in the first four miniseries' with this one promising to focus on Frank Castle/The Punisher (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Unlike the other characters who had featured in their own series, this wouldn't be the first time we had seen Castle with both him and allies David Lieberman/Microchip (David Costabile) and Martin Soap (Eddie Marsan) all appearing in Spiderman season 2. In the run up to this show fans were very much promised a more brutal, gritty action packed show with the producers in fact going as far to calling this a multiple hour action movie in the same vane as the likes of Taken and John Wick.

Starting out a few months ago in a flashback scene following the arrest and exposition of Wilson Fisk (Tony Todd) as the big man of crime as well as the deaths of both Silvermane Manfredi (John Nolan) and Sable Manfredi/Silver Sable (Emilia Clarke). The first prominent scene would focus on the main antagonist of the Punisher series Ma Gnucci (Katey Sagal). As the matriarch of Gnucci family along with her sons Carlo (Finn Wittrock), Bobby (Devon Graye) and Eddie (Julian Ovenden) plus her associates Curtis Hoyle (Joel Gretsch), Dino Gnucci (Noah Taylor) and Joseph Malizia (Richard Cawthorne). Ma Gnucci saw the fall of the Big Man and the Manfredi's as time to put her family at the forefront of the New York crime syndicate. But in order to do that she would have to eliminate the true threat to them all being Frank Castle. Proving herself to be a determined and fearful character Ma Gnucci arranged a meeting with the other notable crime syndicates in the city. But during this meeting no one took her claims seriously. That is apart from the brash, psychotic criminal known as Nicky Cavella (Tahmoh Penikett) who was constantly accompanied by his associates Ink (Aramis Knight) and Pittsy (Michael McElhatton). Having gained a powerful ally or what she called behind closed doors a wildcard Gnucci began her plot to kill the Punisher before he could ruin things for her. Continuing in this trend of making these miniseries different to the other series. It has to be said that instead of giving these villains over complicated stories, with the villains in this story they were very much kept simple in regards to their motivations. Which helped the flow of the story.

Going further several key comic book stories were incorporated into this series including Up is down and black is white, The slavers, Welcome Back Frank and our starting block for this season Kitchen Irish. As we would get our first look at some other antagonists for this season namely Magnity (Morris Chestnut) as well as Finn Cooley (Liam Cunningham) and his nephew Peter Cooley (Oliver Stark). Finn and Magnity while named co captains of the Kitchen Irish mafia definitely are not on the same page. With Magnity for his part being focused fully on profits and the gangster life style coming into conflict with the Cooleys over their IRA ties and wanting to continue the cause in America. Adding to this conflict was the so called fortune of old man Nesbitt. Nesbitt referred to as the former leader of the Kitchen Irish put Magnity and Cooley in charge hoping that they could work together and if they could they would acquire his fortune of well over ten million dollars. Unfortunately making this relationship grow more strained was Finn's cause and his plan for several bombings across the city. Meanwhile in looking to plan his revenge against Ma Gnucci and her empire Frank Castle found himself an informant on the inside thanks to background work by Microchip. Formerly a gangster and now a low level grunt not to mention alcoholic and body dumper Carlo Schitti (Jason Flemyng) definitely cast a pathetic figure when he was confronted by Castle.

In pleading for his life Carlo promised Castle whatever he wanted in order to stay alive with Castle opting to keep him alive in return for information on everything about the Gnucci family. Later that night Castle met with Micro and credited him for the tip on Schitti before stating that he seems like the right man for the job. Nodding his head Micro agreed before he spoke up and mentioned that there was something he needed to discuss with Frank. Talking about the difference Frank has made in the city in removing the likes of Schoonover and Russo, Micro mentions that he knows everything so far has been personal but there are things they cannot turn a blind eye to. Being reluctant to become a hero saying he'd rather leave that to the devil and the spider. Frank states that he knows he and Micro have a deal and he will get Micro revenge for his family as well. But once that happens everything is square and they go their separate ways. Meanwhile with New York cracking down on vigilante's with various officers being assigned various cases Martin Soap was presented with the case of the Punisher. While using this to constantly tip off Castle, Soap began to get a little nervous when he was told that the CIA are beginning to take an interest in Castle. Unfortunately that wouldn't be all Soap had on his plate thanks to a series of explosions triggered by the Cooley's targeting the British Consulate.

With these attacks drawing unwanted attention on the Kitchen Irish Magnity met with Ma Gnucci. Agreeing he should have partnered with her originally when they had the chance Magnity looks to make a deal with Ma Gnucci. In agreeing to help her take down the Punisher, She will help him kill Finn Cooley and claim the Nesbitt fortune. Once that is done Magnity agrees to work under Ma Gnucci. Following the bombings Martin Soap meets with Frank Castle and Microchip. Asking for their help and reminding both men of all the times he has assisted them. Martin Soap states that The Punisher can be more than just a weapon of revenge. He can be a righter of wrongs and deliver true justice. Finally relenting after Soap told him of the casualties Punisher agreed to meet with Martin's contact. This would bring Castle together with one of several memorable guest stars for this season in Yorkie Mitchell (James Masters). During their talk both Castle and Mitchell bonded over their time served in the military before Mitchell spoke of how one of Cooley's recent attacks at an Irish Pub in New York is what brought him here. It was then Mitchell explained just what made this personal to him as he introduced Castle to Andy Lorimer (Alan Ritchson). After explaining how he served with Andy's father, Yorkie went on to call Andy's dad the best man he'd ever known and a man who was taken way before his time by the action's of the Cooley family in that pub explosion. Going on further to explain that this is no longer a case of bringing Cooley home to face justice, Yorkie instead says he is glad they met the Punisher. As he wants them all to work together and eliminate the Cooleys and the Kitchen Irish.

With Castle asking what leads they had both Yorkie and Andy brought Castle to their truck where they had one of Peter Cooley's trusted lieutenants Michael Morrison (Stuart Townsend) captured. What followed would be a graphic torture scene as Castle and the other's looked to extract information from Morrison. At first Morrison refused to talk but slowly he broke under the pressure and began telling them everything he knew. Including about the Nesbitt fortune and where it was hidden. Once Morrison had finished Castle shot him in the head. Meanwhile with Morrison disappearing and the net closing in Finn and Peter Cooley began plotting their next move. With Finn wanting complete control over the Kitchen Irish they began plotting the death of Magnity. Unfortunately they would soon be met by Magnity along with several Gnucci men including Ma's brother Dino. After a tense stand off with Magnity and the Gnucci men holding the Cooley's and several Kitchen Irish members at gun point an eerily calm Finn began removing his jacket as he revealed he was wearing a bomb vest and was in possession of a dead man's switch. Branded crazy by Dino who refused to believe Finn would put his own nephew and men at risk, Dino was soon silenced as Finn removed his jacket showing some horrific burns on his body. Following this Finn also removed a series of prosthetic on his own face as he said that they'd be surprised what he is willing to risk in order to get what he wants. Looking to compromise Magnity reached for a key round his neck and declared this wasn't working. Offering Finn complete control of the Kitchen Irish in exchange for his share of the Nesbitt money they agreed to keep locked up as a duo.

After consulting his greedy nephew who thought of the things they could do with their share Finn smirked and he agreed to open the safe. Before we saw them open the safe in a clever bit of filming we cut back to the Punisher/Morrison torture and saw a few key scenes which had happened as well as the realization that the torture had happened 12 hours beforehand. In the coming hours following Morrison's words Punisher met with Microchip, Yorkie and Lormier as they began to plot their next move. After tapping the phones of the kitchen mob and getting some surveillance of their hideout the group plotted an attack which involved Lormier going undercover as a Kitchen Mob grunt earlier that day. As it was revealed in his talks with Castle that Andy was also a former soldier with a specific specialty. One which would prove more than useful in the coming events. Because as Magnity and Finn opened the safe they triggered a small device attached to the safe itself triggering an explosion throughout the Kitchen Mob headquarters killing both men instantly. In fact the only survivor of the explosion having been nearest to the door was Peter Cooley. In shock and staggering out the remains of the building Cooley is confronted by Andy Lormier, Yorkie Mitchell and Frank Castle. It was here that the last of the Kitchen Mob would be brought down with Lormier avenging his father by gunning down Finn Cooley's nephew.

After a successful mission and the elimination of the Kitchen Irish both Andy Lormier and Yorkie Mitchell would say their farewells to Frank Castle as they looked to return home. Meanwhile while relieved to know that he wouldn't have to worry about anymore bombings at the hands of the Kitchen Irish, Martin Soap found that his actions began to have consequences as he found at the Kitchen Irish crime scene there was not one but two agents waiting for him in Kathryn O'Brien (Lauren German) and William Rawlins (Tom Mison) waiting for him. With a notable tension between the two agents neither of whom seemed that impressed with Soap either or his work on the Punisher Case. Instead they state that from now he works for them and they will be bringing in the Punisher. Going underground as the heat dies off him Frank Castle took up the name of John Smith and moved into a dingy apartment complex he shared with Nathaniel Bumpo (Craig Ricci Shaynak), Spacker Dave (Jamie Bower Campbell) and Joan (Tracy Spiridakos). Using this apartment as a hideout Castle would regularly meet with Charlie Schitti who true to his word was becoming a valuable source of information for Castle in regards to the coming and goings of the Gnucci crime family.

As one could imagine a fearsome and loyal woman like Ma Gnucci would not tolerate losing her brother. More angry with how it affected her standing than the loss itself Ma turned to Curtis Hoyle. The soldier who like Schoonover, Hitman and Sniper had served with Castle in the past. Demanding results Gnucci made it clear that she wanted Castle dead and for Hoyle to be the one to do it. Nodding his head Hoyle left the room while later that night following one of his meetings with Frank, Charlie Schitti was confronted by a man he knew only as Nolo (Nick E Tarabay). Before Schitti could say another word he was shot directly in the head by the assassin who then calmly walked off down an alleyway. As the news of Schitti's death came out and his ties to the Gnucci family known many including the CIA and Martin Soap thought it was the work of Frank Castle. Meeting with Castle and Microchip, Soap questioned why Frank would go after someone so low level until Castle and Microchip revealed that he hadn't and instead Schitti was an ally. Sighing with relief Soap then warned Castle of Rawlins and O'Brien before he revealed that there was something he wanted their help with. Despite Micro questioning the timing he soon was on board as Martin Soap mentioned the details of a crime family in New York known as the Bulats.

On doing his research a disgusted Microchip immediately accepted before bringing Frank over to look at what he had found. It was here that we were introduced formaly to the Bulat family headed by hardened and sadistic Romanian Gangster Tiberiu Bulat (Ulrich Thomsen). Along with Tiberiu was his second in command and the equally violent Cristu Bulat (Zach Appleman) along with Cristu's fiance Vera Konstantin (Dakota Fanning). Tiberiu and his son are noted war criminals who fled to the US after being wanted in romania for war crimes thanks to their mercenary work. Now in America, Tiberiu had started a new line of work as a crime lord with his son and his fiance finding a highly profitable market in the exploitation, drugging and forced prostitution of young girls. With Soap stating that details are scarce with Tiberiu having connections thanks to many higher ups being clients. Soap begged Castle to clean the slate of Bulat. Meanwhile in a meeting with his son and Vera Tiberiu was asked about Castle. With Cristu mentioning how he easily destroyed the Kitchen Irish it seemed that Cristu was a little cautious. However Tiberiu instead seemed excited as he appreciated the man's skillset and even appeared to want him to come for him.

While a dark topic in any walk of life, the show to it's credit didn't shy away from the darker side of rape, sexual exploitation and so on. As in a conversation with her fiance Cristu, it was revealed that Vera Konstantin was in fact the one who came up with these sadistic methods in order to break girls. Adding to the bleak nature of this story was an episode we saw through the eyes of one of the girls known as Viorica (Hayley McFarland). Having been tortured and exploited by the family and so on Viorica to her credit still maintained a glimmer of hope that one day she would be free. This could be seen in tender moments such as her comforting some of the newer, younger girls in the system as well as her general willingness to give away what little she had in order to help others. Unfortunately there was one fate even she herself feared and that was the day Bobby Gnucci showed up at her particular brothel. Meeting with Cristu there was seemingly some mutual respect between the two indicating a long standing business relationship. While the details of what Gnucci did were kept quiet going by the reactions of all the girls as he walked past them he was notorious for acts of deviancy if not worse. Grabbing Viorica by the arm as he selected her to be his companion Bobby made a headline for the door with a warning from Cristu to return this one alive.

After bringing her to his car and driving her to apartment, Gnucci kept looking over at Viorica as he walked her into his apartment. Displayed on the table in front is a briefcase with several knives on the table. Panicking Viorica tries to flee when Bobby snatches her round the neck. After a brief struggle Gnucci throws her to the ground with her head bouncing off the floor. Helpless in her state Viorica is terrified as Bobby Gnucci marches towards her. But just before he can grab her the door to his apartment is kicked open. Barging into the room is Frank Castle as Bobby panics on seeing the punisher. Rushing to get his knife Gnucci just grabs the handle when Castle shoots him directly through the head while Viorica blacks out. Waking up a day later with an IV in her arms in an unfamiliar room Viorica is panicked when she sees Frank Castle sitting down nearby watching over her. After assuring her she is safe now Frank eventually is able to build trust with the girl as he promises he won't hurt her. As the two continue talking and sharing the details of her harrowing ordeal. A horrified Microchip is listening in from one of the surveillance cameras along with Martin Soap. Without saying a word the two men nod their heads to one another before Microchip promises to find someone to help her.

In the time that it had taken her to recover consciousness, police had also recovered the body of Bobby Gnucci. With the news of her son's death fresh in her mind an angered Ma Gnucci demands results from Curtis Hoyle. This time though with the follow up that he will assist Carlo Gnucci in killing the Punisher. Although once Ma was out of the room Carlo Gnucci's level of grief and concern rapidly dropped as he stated that they will kill the Punisher but only at the right moment. That being once he has eliminated another one of their competitors. As this was going on thanks to information provided by Viorica Frank Castle was able to find the Bulat home. Despite being heavily the guarded the armed guards were no match for the tactical prowess of Castle who was able to infiltrate the home earlier in the day and drug the dinner. This allowed Castle to easily wipe out the Bulat men before he was dismayed to find only a groggy Cristu in the house. While Castle took Cristu with him Microchip had a task of his own as he reached out to a reputable social worker known as Jen Cooke (Felicia Day). While not appearing in many episodes credit has to go to actress Felicia Day for making Cooke a believable likable character who was disgusted by what she had seen and heard who was looking to make a difference.

While Jen Cooke kept Viorica hidden and looked to help set her up with both a visa and a job, Frank Castle went to work in his own way as he viciously tortured Cristu Bulat. In one of the most gruesome and graphic scenes in the Fox Marvel universe as Frank Castle brutalized Cristu in a variety of different ways. At first Cristu remained quiet that is until Frank began cutting out Bulat's own guts, panicking on seeing his own insides pulled out in front of him Bulat gave Frank Castle everything he knew including the location of several more brothels they own and operate as well as the office owned by Vera Konstantin. With the information he needed Frank shot down Cristu. As Frank walked outside of the Bulat home he was surprised to find a letter waiting there for him on one of the corpses. This letter was an invitation for a meeting with Don Cervello but when Microchip did some research he found that Cervello was locked up inside Riker's Island. Knowing there was no way him or Frank could go to this meeting Microchip looked for a proxy with Viorica volunteering herself with meet with the Don in return for saving her life. After wiring her up so they could listen in and providing an ear piece to communicate with her Microchip and Frank listened in as Viorica met with the aging mobster Cervello (Christopher Lloyd).

Despite his advanced years Cervello had a commanding presence as it was clear from several little things that despite his imprisonment he commanded respect and power. With Punisher talking through Viorica, Cervello praised the ingenuity of Castle before he stated that there is a reason he called him here. Calling this a case of the enemy of my enemy being my friend Cervello revealed how it was doing of Ma Gnucci that his empire fell and he wound up behind bars. Being a survivalist however he made it work for him and has waited for such a threat to come along to the Gnucci family as Castle. After praising him killing that pervert Bobby Gnucci as well as Dino. Cervello gave Frank some crucial intel on the other sons before warning Castle of one of Gnucci's allies known as Nicky Cavella. Stating that Cavella is arrogant and a pretender, Cervello mentions that he lacks scruples and dignity meaning he will go to any lengths imaginable to win. With the meeting concluded Frank went back to work as he showed up at the office of Vera Konstantin. After easily dispatching her men and storming the office Frank caught Vera unaware and was able to quickly disarm her. After pointing a gun at the sadistic woman who organised the torture and rapes of these girls. Castle changed tact and showed off an increasingly more vicious nature as he brutally beat Vera with his bare hands. All the while taunting her as he revealed Cristu was the one to give her up. Slamming her hard up against one of her office windows Castle had successfully managed to put the fear in the woman who put the fear in all the girls.

Terrified and begging for her life Vera gave Castle everything she knew including computer pass codes and locations. In her last attempt Vera pleaded with Castle to stop only for him to remark that she never did when the girls asked her to. Following this Frank kicked her hard against the chest sending her crashing through one of her office windows sending her falling several stories to her death. Despite his concerns as to Frank's actions Microchip took the information and passwords given by Vera and was able to find the location of one last whore house where Tiberiu Bulat was hiding. Showing up and catching Bulat and his remaining men offguard. Castle was able to quickly eliminate the remaining members of Tiberiu's crew while Bulat fled inside. Reaching the inside of the house Frank was confronted by Tiberiu who was holding a terrified young girl at knife point. Daring Castle to try anything knowing that Frank could not get a clean shot. Tiberiu's pride was used against him as Castle branded him a coward in Romanian. This insult to his honor caused Tiberiu to throw the slave aside as he charged recklessly towards Castle. This allowed Frank to choke Tiberiu out, waking up a while later in the same house which was now abandoned Tiberiu found himself tied to a chair. His mouth taped shut and unable to speak Tiberiu is then doused with petrol by Castle who calmly exits the building after setting Tiberiu on fire.

Having been following Castle this entire time both Carlo Gnucci and Curtis Hoyle found a means for leverage over Castle. After seeing his farewell with Jen and Viorica, the two were able to enter his apartment building. Storming the building Carlo and Curtis took Bumpo and Joan hostage as the two claimed to have no knowledge about Frank Castle as they only knew him as John Smith. On entering the room of Spacker Dave, both Carlo and Hoyle smirked menacingly on seeing photos of The Punisher as it was revealed that Dave had in fact been photographing Castle. This lead to a horrific torture scene where Hoyle and Carlo took turns in ripping the piercings from Dave's face that is until they was attacked by The Punisher. In the ensuing shootout Frank was able to kill Hoyle with a shot gun blast to the chest while badly wounding Carlo with a shot to the stomach. After ordering Joan and Bumpo to get Dave to a hospital Frank grabs Castlo and loads him in the back of his van. Driving him to a construction works Frank then drags Carlo right to the top of this construction site all the while Carlo began pleading for his life until Frank tossed him from the top of this site sending him crashing to his death below.

Standing in the morgue a mourning Ma Gnucci was upset following the loss of another son. Adding to her troubles was the death of assistant Joe Malizia. While similar to Charlie Schitti that it was assumed to be the work of Castle, In a flash back it was shown to be the work of Nolo Cotendre. With these extra deaths being tied to the punisher a concerned Martin Soap realized that the heat was truly on Frank Castle with many agencies taking an interest in his supposed rampage. This included the CIA as agents William Rawlins and Kathryn O'Brien took official charge of the Punisher Case. However it seemed that both of them had different intentions to the case as Rawlins appeared to be hiding something. When confronting her partner O'Brien made it clear that she wanted to bring him in alive. All the while Rawlins assured her that he will follow orders and the order is to keep watch on Ma Gnucci as that is who Frank is after. Two meetings would then take place to close this episode one was a meeting between Ma Gnucci, Nicky Cavella and Eddie Gnucci. With Ma wanting Castle and everyone he cares about dead she demands that Cavella and his men end this. Agreeing to honor his end Nicky hatches a plan with the Gnucci family to use Eddie as bait. The other meeting would take place between O'Brien and Martin Soap. Unlike her partner who very much appeared to be a little more shady, Kathryn was a straight arrow who just wanted the truth. Asking what Soap thought about these extra killings. Soap responded by saying that he didn't think this was all the work of Castle as he wouldn't simply target low level thugs like that without a reason.

These meetings would lead to a thrilling episode packed full of suspense as true to form Eddie Gnucci was the perfect bait for Frank Castle. Following a car chase which led Frank into Central Park zoo. Frank Castle for the first time in the show found himself against odds he couldn't overcome as he was the recipient of a brutal beating at the hands of Nicky Cavella, Ink, Pittsy, Eddie Gnucci and several other Gnucci men. With the police and the CIA closing in Ma Gnucci delights in taunting Castle as she then informs him that her plan is watch him get ripped apart in this zoo. But with the sirens getting louder this distraction allowed Frank to drop a Flash Grenade. Stunning all of Gnucci's forces with it's blast just as the police and CIA arrive, Castle disarms Eddie Gnucci and guns him down before he chases after Ma. With Nicky Cavella ducking for cover in some bushes he watches on as Frank easily kills his associates Ink and Pittsy while the CIA and cops begin arresting thugs. With Castle in hot pursuit Ma Gnucci makes the mistake of climbing over a fence into an enclosure. Castle is in hot pursuit and he has a gun pointed at Ma who starts to taunt him. Lowering his Gun Frank advises Ma to look behind her as he then makes his escape. The closing moment then shows Ma Gnucci attacked by a Polar Bear.

The next scene would cut to later that night post the failed sting and it would show William Rawlins pull up into an alleyway with his car. Sighing as he gets out and walks round to the trunk Rawlins popped it open freeing Nicky Cavella. Having helped Cavella escape from the zoo, Rawlins stated that the two were even now and he needed a favor. Willing to oblige the arrogant Cavella was quick to comment that he was the last man standing and now New York is his. The fallout from the zoo would also see Microchip begin to grow concerned with Castle's psyche as Frank has began to appear to delight in the suffering of others. Meanwhile surprisingly Ma Gnucci having survived the polar bear mauling is now bed bound and unable to walk or move following the vicious attack. Weeks would then pass without incident all the while Kathryn O'Brien began to question just how Nicky Cavella escaped while Rawlins continued making secretive phone calls while keeping his partner in the dark. But just as it looked like things would go quiet a video would go viral of a drunken Nicky Cavella. The celebratory and boastful king of New York on this video would not only dig up but also urinate on the bodies of Frank's family.

This video understandably sent Castle into a rage one which even Microchip couldn't contain. This would then see Castle go on a rampage and finally get his retribution for his family as he first attacked the Ma Gnucci home. After killing all of her men and also taking as much money as he could Frank turned his attention to the bed bound Ma. With Ma still threatening his death and even trying to bite him in a last ditch attempt. Castle demanded Cavella when Ma didn't answer Frank began to set fire to her house. Taking the money with him Castle walked out of the home as Ma Gnucci was burned alive. Returning to Microchip having avenged his family, Castle asked for his help to find Cavella. Micro tracked his phone to a safe house in the woods before warning Frank that this had the making of a trap. Showing no fear in his quest for revenge, Castle says that he is counting on it. However it wouldn't be Cavella who planned the trap as instead William Rawlins had employed a team of mercenaries to act as part of a covert mission to kill Frank Castle using Cavella as bait.

This led to an angry O'Brien confronting Rawlins as she demanded to know why he kept her in the dark. Claiming that this was orders from above Rawlins stated that he knew O'Brien wouldn't go along with it. Also brought along with the two was a concerned Martin Soap who had no means of tipping off Frank as to what he was walking into. In scenes reminiscent of early Rambo movies, Castle would use traps to attack and incapacitate members of Rawlins unit. Displaying his cowardice Nicky Cavella fled the safe house looking to save his own skin. This led to a chase by multiple parties as Nolo Cotendre also showed up looking to kill Castle. In the ensuing chaos Frank Castle and Nolo began to fight with Nolo in fact revealing that he was a fan of his work and a tough one to imitate. Just as Frank got an upper hand however he was shot by Rawlins. Rawlins and Cotendre prepared to execute Frank when Nolo was clipped by an unknown shooter sending him fleeing. This allowed Castle to punch out the CIA agent. Soap revealing himself as the shooter helped Frank to his feet before pointing him in the direction of Cavella. But before Castle could move both he and Soap were confronted by O'Brien. Revealing how she'd long suspected someone in the force was aiding Castle. O'Brien appeared to be conflicted as she stated she knows someone is out to get him who works higher up. It was then that O'Brien surprisingly allowed Castle to flee as she stated that everything in her body is telling her he is a monster and she hopes she is wrong about him.

Castle then ran off in pursuit of Cavella all the while Soap and O'Brien worked out a story to tell Rawlins when he woke up. Meanwhile a panicked Cavella would stop off by a tree to catch his breath only to be shot down by Castle. Bleeding heavily from his abdomen the cowardly Cavella pleaded with Castle to help him and even began to apologize for what he did. All the while Castle kept his gun aimed directly at Nicky. Instead of shooting down Nicky, Castle did one better as he instead told him the painful way a wound like that would kill Nicky having seen many like it in the war. Calmly Castle then walked away from Nicky leaving him to die a slow and painful death with reports stating when his body was discovered his eyes had been pecked out by birds. Following this a closing montage would show events that followed this. This included Jen Cooke being able to help all of the girls kept as slaves at the hands of the Bulat family. With Viorica now working in a diner and happily settled in to her new life. Andy Lormier and Yorkie Mitchell having their own quest for revenge settled and being happily able to move on with their lives as they drink in a pub back home. Joan, Bumpo and Dave all returning to their apartment building and finding a large duffel bag containing the Ma Gnucci fortune left to them by Frank Castle. The closing conversation would then be between Castle and Microchip as Frank stated that Micro was right. Frank is more than a weapon and he will keep doing this as long as Micro will help him. Smiling Microchip agreed before the two promised to find out just who was attempting to frame him.

Following this not one but two post credit scenes would feature highlighting potential plot points for the next season. The first would show Nolo Cotendre in the middle of a phone call with a mystery man. Berating the man as he stated that he would have finished the job were it not for interference. Nolo says he is done only to be shot in the back of the head by a man in the shadows. Stepping out of the shadows William Rawlins shakes his head disappointingly as he reveals he was the man who hired Nolo. The final scene would then show Don Cervello happily reading an article about the fall of Ma Gnucci when he looks up from his paper and sees Jigsaw (Michael Eklund) entering his cell. With a shiv in hand Jigsaw without even saying a word pins Cervello down and slits his throat.

    Re: Marvel

    Fox Broadcasting Presents

Spiderman Season 4: Beware the Sinister Six ~ Symbiote Saga part I

"He killed my father! He took everything from me.. I don't need time. I need revenge and I will do whatever I have to in order to take it!" Harry Osborn

After a recent successful spate of miniseries focusing on lesser known characters in the Marvel Universe. It was a return to form here for the Fox Marvel series as it gave us all our fourth installment of it's Spiderman series. Unlike the previous seasons which carried one longstanding narrative. This fourth season promised to do something different as it planned to split the lengthen 16 episode format into two separate eight episode arcs. Opening up on very morbid tones which one might expect following the events of season three which culminated in the death of Gwen Stacy. The show took a daring approach this season as it showed us a very disdainable side early on of Peter Parker (Tyler Posey). Because as opposed to grieving for his girlfriend Peter instead appeared to be taking a walk on the wild side. This included going out drinking and partying most nights of the week while also showing a more temperamental side to his personality. While this behavior was quick to concern Aunt May (Maggie Glenn Close) anytime she tried to speak to him he brushed it off by claiming to be fine. Meanwhile this new attitude wasn't just on display as Peter Parker it was also on show as Spiderman. Now in a black suit Spiderman was shown to be less talkative and more brutal and aggressive in his take downs of bad guys.

Drawing parallels with Peter Parker when it came to a new attitude was Harry Osborn (Douglas Booth). As while in the previous seasons we saw a more upbeat and friendly Harry Osborn. Here in this season was a more focused, entitled and bitter Harry. Now with the added pressure of running Oscorp on his shoulders Harry Osborn was working tirelessly with Otto Octavius (Jared Harris). But this wasn't in an effort to improve the company instead it was in effort to bring down Spiderman in revenge for the fall of his father. But while Otto in his relationship with Norman clearly held respect for the elder Osborn. His relationship with Harry was a lot less ideal as it was clear that Otto saw Harry as a spoiled brat. Harry meanwhile kept his focus on building his team all the while Otto in the back was working on his trademark tentacle arms. With growing concern over his behavior Aunt May reached out to several of Peter's friends in order to see if they could reach him. The first of which was his mentor at work Robbie Robertson (Omar Epps). However Peter was quick to shut him down by stating that as long as his job is done that is all that should matter. The other person to reach out to Peter was Matt Murdock (Shane West). This was a continuation of the teacher and student relationship built in the previous seasons. Sadly even Matt Murdock wasn't able to reach Peter either.

Continuing on this trend of this new behavior for Peter was his pursuit of Betty Brandt (Alexis Bledel). With the two sharing a flirtatious relationship in the past it was no surprised that the two quickly entered into a relationship much to the chagrin of Eddie Brock (Ryan Kwanten). Brock for his part was branded a creep by Brandt especially when Peter exposed that Eddie was in fact married when he was pursuing her. This would be one of many clashes in the Eddie Brock and Peter Parker relationship. Meanwhile in what was proof that Otto Octavius had his own agenda was his dealings with a man known as Spencer Smythe (Jonathan Pryce). Smythe a noted robotics engineer was working privately on something funded by Otto which Otto called the solution of his problems. Meanwhile the new behavior of Spiderman continued as he found himself confronted by a thief known as Black Cat (Elisha Cuthbert). This was our first glimpse at Felisha Hardy under the Black Cat moniker as she was in the early stages of her crime streak. During this confrontation Black Cat seemed to slowly warm to Spiderman as they spoke when suddenly their battle in the bank was intercepted by another thief known as The Beetle (Jesse Spencer). The mercenary was able to escape with the money much to the annoyance of Black Cat. With police coming closer and Spiderman chasing her to the roof. Spiderman surprisingly lets Cat go unaware that down below Eddie Brock is snapping photos.

"You know what? I've just had a thought about what we could accomplish together. An octopus after all has many arms while a spider has many eyes." Doctor Octopus

Despite Peter's best efforts his relationship with Betty Brandt went nowhere with both of them wanting different things. Brandt for her part wanting a relationship while Peter wanted a casual fling. Again showing this newer side to him Peter did not seem that cut up about it as he met with a concerned Aunt May. May for her part while concerned about Peter's behavior was happy that he was trying to get back out in the world. This led to her revealing she had spoken with an old friend of her's Anna May and that if Peter wanted she had gotten him a date with Anna's niece. After at first being dismissive Peter agreed to go on the date. Meanwhile that night Peter returned to his patrols of New York when he was confronted by Black Cat. As the two spoke She called him the first man she felt she could trust. Stating that she didn't want to be a criminal and that she was only doing it to provide a life for her family. Cat went on to state that the man they met was a mercenary called Beetle and he has been framing her for his crimes which is why she was really at the Bank. After hearing the story Spiderman agrees to help Cat bring down the Beetle and it wouldn't take them long to find Abner Jenkins/The Beetle. In the middle of another heist Beetle claimed that he hadn't been paid to hurt them but as they keep getting in his way. He'll happily do it for free but following a short battle the numbers game grew to strong and Spiderman was able to pin down Jenkins with his webbing while police arrived on the scene.

Thanks to witnesses and several recordings of Beetle committing crimes Abner Jenkins was locked behind bars. But the fallout of this proved much more costly for one other as Eddie Brock having sold J Jonah Jameson on Spiderman being a criminal and participating in crimes with Beetle and Cat was disgraced. This along with Peter providing proof to counter Eddie's story would set off a chain reaction. As not only would Eddie Brock be fired from his job at the Bugle but that night his wife would also leave him having become aware at his attempts of infidelity. Despite Peter being in the right in his situation the manner in which he acted and the delight in Brock's fall caused Betty Brandt to openly express disappointment in Peter. However while Peter had lost one chance at love he'd gained another in his date. On meeting Mary Jane Watson (Jane Levy) for the first time it was here that flashes of the old Peter shined through. Gone was the volatile, arrogant and brooding Peter as of late and in his place was the witty, kind and dorky Parker of old. Credit has to be given to Levy in her performance as MJ as she quickly filled the gap left by Dianna Agron's Gwen Stacy. While at first the two on this date kept things light they found their true connection in something heavy as both revealed that they had recently lost people they cared about.

While Peter had possibly found a way out of his pit of despair, His friend Harry Osborn continued his downfall as he aligned himself with the man known as The Chameleon (Tom Wlaschiha). The mercenary and skilled master of disguise aided Harry in fulfilling a promise as he assisted in the jail break of Herman Schultz/The Shocker (Josh Holloway). The following scenes were definitely a treat as we got our first look at the Fox Marvel Universe's interpretation of the Sinister Six. Comprised of The Shocker, The Chameleon, The Vulture (Steve Buscemi), The Rhino (Hafthor Bjornsson), Electro (Dominic Monaghan) and The Scorpion (Teddy Sears). The group made for a formidable looking team as they all shared in their hatred for Spiderman. While the six stood by in an underground lab below Oscorp Harry Osborn turned to Otto and said things are almost complete. But now he needs to find a way to not only bring them together but also have their respect. As Otto calmly looked on Harry would then ask for the Goblin Formula. Adding to his earlier woes mention must go at this point to a series of small scenes focusing in on the personal life of J Jonah James (John C McGinley). While usually shown to be a hot headed and fearsome individual in the Bugle. These scenes showed a softer side as he was concerned about the well being of his son John Jameson (Rick Cosnett). Ever since his ship's fall from space John had been acting noticeably different with him showing possible signs of a psychotic break. However in a small montage the frightening truth was on full display as John on several occasions transformed into the terrifying Man Wolf.

"You don't get it do you dad? I didn't return home a hero. I came back a monster!"
    John Jameson

In a similar to contrast to the symbiote affecting Peter Parker, The other side of John Jameson very much showed a drastic change in what was once an honorable young man. With painful transformations and a very much jekyll and hyde like story to Man Wolf. Unlike the previous seasons of Spiderman this story embraced the horror of the character as we saw Man Wolf hunt and claim victims in the night. However rather than being a simple wild beast Man Wolf had a mission or a target so to speak. One which would begin to speak to John as it looked to make John embrace the animal with in. Claiming it's purpose was to take back what Jameson brought to earth Man Wolf's mission soon became clear as it began to stalk Peter Parker. This would eventually lead to an inevitable clash between the two as Man Wolf attacked Peter Parker while he was on his way to a date with Mary Jane. With Peter's symbiote never leaving him he quickly acquires his black suit for what turned into a brutal fight between himself and the beastly Man Wolf across the streets of Manhattan. As this battle raged on press and police alike gathered the scene Man Wolf looked to have the upperhand as he sank his teeth into the shoulder of Spiderman. Watching on complaining about his lack of staff at the scene is J Jonah Jameson.

Jonah despite his son's earlier claims to be a monster is still totally unaware as to the fact that Man Wolf is in fact his son. Taking some photos himself of the scene Jonah watches on as the battle begins to change in favor of Spiderman. Slowly after a barrage of punches Man Wolf turns back to a bloodied John Jameson. Seeing Spiderman beat down his son proves to be too much for J Jonah as he pushes past police and steps between the two. Accusing Spiderman of turning his son into a monster, Jonah despite Spiderman's warnings walks towards his son and places his arm on his shoulder. Showing compassion despite his son's previous monster appearance Jonah promises him that if he comes with him he will get him the help he needs. Breaking down John Jameson responds that he can't be helped and reveals all the people he killed. Despite this the indignant Jonah stands by his son as he says that he will not let him be taken away from him. Unfortunately Jonah's denial only serves as fuel for John who begins to turn back into the creature. Before John can attack his father however he is knocked out by Spiderman. Following an angry debate between Jonah and Spiderman, Jonah on recognizing all of the guns pointed at his son agrees to have him sent to the Raft for help.

Having appeared infrequently over the past few seasons it appeared following the John Jameson story culmination more depth was being given to Curt Connors (Noah Wyle). A smart, caring man who had previously served as a medic in the war before he lost his arm. Connors had previously appeared as a teacher to Peter Parker before Peter graduated. Despite no longer being Peter's teacher Curt still acted as an occasional mentor to the young man as he considered him one of his best students. Having now temporarily quit teaching in order to become a researcher as Oscorp, Curt along with his friend Otto Octavius began working diligently on a serum to help him potentially regenerate his lost appendage. These scenes between Curt and Otto also helped show more depth to Otto's character as he showcased his respect towards a fellow man of intelligent as opposed to his almost dismissive handling towards Harry. As the two continued their research Otto spoke to Connors of his work putting him at odds with an impressive young man. A young man who in his mind had a lot of potential. Potential which only he could help him reach. Before Curt could give Otto some advice both men's research was cut off by the arrival of Herman Schultz. Schultz while not a scholar was also a man who had impressed Otto with his resourcefulness, survivor's instinct and not too mention his ruthlessness. Speaking privately Schultz reminded Otto that he was not a fool and that he knows Osborn is going to fall. Demanding to know the real plan Schultz listens in as Otto states the truth is Harry is not fit to lead the team or Oscorp. Nor is the team really built to last which is why if an accident was to befall Harry and the rest of the team during the death of Spiderman. Thus removing any loose ends Otto would make sure that Herman was thoroughly compensated the shares of every man involved.

Nodding his head in approval Herman agreed before stating that there are a few members of the team he knows he can work with. Otto not really caring states that as long as there are no loose ends he isn't particularly bothered who lives and who dies from the six. One thing Otto didn't bank on however was just how far Harry Osborn was in fact willing to go for his quest for revenge. Because with full possession of the Goblin formula Harry much to Otto's surprise rather than taking it installments after several tests like his father did. Opted to pump the entire formula through his system without any thought or concern. Meanwhile as per the plan the Chameleon proved his worth to the sinister six as he posed as Janitor for the daily bugle. While at the bugle the Chameleon was able to go through many of the records they had on Spiderman before noticing that almost all of the photos were taken by Peter Parker. Relaying this information back to the team a now delusional and disturbed Harry mused that his friend must have a connection to Spiderman. One which he must use as leverage against the web head. This would lead to an attack on Peter's house by the sinister six in which Peter was caught totally unaware and sent flying to the ground following a blast from Shocker's gauntlets. Meanwhile both Aunt May and Mary Jane where snatched by the Sinister Six while Harry Osborn fully embracing his Green Goblin persona demanded Spiderman come find them at the George Washington Bridge where his father died.

While Harry had been driven mad clearly by the formula, the rage in Peter at having his family again attacked by a goblin caused the symbiote to begin to affect him further. Before Peter could turn into a frightening being he was confronted by Matt Murdock. Advising Peter not to rush into this and do anything rash, Murdock stated that he could help Peter. However all this did was irritate Peter who instead attacked Matt out of anger. While Matt was able to narrowly avoid Peter's attacks at first Peter soon managed to pin him up against a wall. Before he could do anymore damage however Peter was forcefully thrown back by Luke Cage (Chad Coleman). Along with Luke Cage were the rest of the defenders comprised of Jessica Jones (Alexandria Daddario), Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Dan Stevens) and Ava Ayala/White Tiger (Monica Raymund). Despite a few of them having briefly met Peter before they clearly were not impressed with this new side to him nor were they unwilling to fight if necessary. Backing off Peter broke down as he said that something is wrong with him and he has known it for a while. But that he can't lose anyone else not so soon after Gwen. Crouching down by Peter Murdock promises that will not happen as they will stop the Goblin together this time.

The following scenes arguably were incredibly satisfying for comic fans as we saw an in depth all out battle between the Defenders and the Sinister Six. All the while the Green Goblin was watching and standing guard over Mary Jane and Aunt May. In this battle we saw many fun moments and face offs including Luke Cage vs Rhyno, Iron Fist vs Electro, Jessica Jones vs Vulture, White Tiger vs Chameleon, Daredevil vs Shocker and Spiderman vs Scorpion to name a few. Slowly however it became clear that the Defenders entered into this contest with a game plan as they used the battle as a means to get Spiderman closer to the Goblin. Managing to attach a web to the Goblin's glider both Spiderman and the Goblin zoomed from the scene leaving a battle between the Defenders and the Sinister Six ongoing. Over the course of the battle the difference between the two teams become noted as the Defenders were able to function like a unit while the Six were still a group of individuals. This would slowly allow the Defenders to take them down one by one with Jessica Jones first grounding Vulture while at the same time White Tiger incapacitated Chameleon. Together then the duo of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage beat down and knocked out Rhyno while a miscommunication between Shocker and Electro left both men down. Finally against the entire group Scorpion despite proving to be a formidable foe was also defeated at the hands of the Defenders who were then able to rescue May and Mary Jane.

Panicking with Spiderman having got hold of his glider and getting steadily closer to him by the second Harry Osborn made the risky decision of bringing the battle to Oscorp. Again this showed how far Harry had fallen as he showed little care for the multiple employees present as both he and Spiderman crashed through the foyer. Zooming around on his glider with Spiderman in pursuit Harry heads to the labs where Otto Octavius is currently wearing his tentacled harness while he is working on a project with Spencer Smythe. Crashing through one of the windows Spiderman climbs to his feet as Harry recklessly throws a pumpkin bomb at him. But Spiderman is able to kick it back to Harry in the nick of time. However the resulting explosion does send both Octopus and Smythe crashing back against a nearby wall. While Smythe seems fine Otto screams out in agony as his harness is damaged. Meanwhile the fight between Spiderman and the Goblin resumes with Harry luring Peter to his office. As he backs up to a wall Harry removes his goblin mask before he reveals an expansive collection of pumpkin bombs. Clearly driven insane from the overdose of the Goblin Formula Harry threatens to blow up the entire building when to his shock Spiderman unmasks revealing himself as his friend Peter Parker.

Stunned at the realization his friend is Spiderman, Harry is not sure how to respond as Peter says he was like Harry not too long ago. Consumed with a rage and an anger he could not control. Reminding Harry of the old times Peter states that he knows this isn't the Harry he knows he is deep down. Breaking down into tears a conflicted Harry takes a look at himself in the mirror before he looks over at the pumpkin bombs. Conflicted and unsure of his next move Harry drops to his knees as he puts his hands to his head. Clearly in excruciating pain following effects of the Goblin Formula, Harry's nose and ears begin bleeding heavily as he tries to reach for a pumpkin bomb. Kicking Harry's arm away Peter can do no more than watch as his friend Harry fully succumbs to the formula and dies from the effects of the serum. The next scene is from a few days later and is another solemn affair as it is the funeral of Harry Osborn. Accompanied by Mary Jane and Aunt May, Peter Parker takes a moment to speak privately with Matt Murdock. Apologizing for his actions before Peter thanks him for not giving up on him before he promises that he will find out what is going on with him.

~~ End of Sinister Six arc ~~ Beginning of Symbiote Saga ~~

"Peter Parker did this! If it wasn't for him I'd still have a job. If it wasn't for him I'd still have a wife. He took everything from me. Now we will take everything from him!" Eddie Brock/Venom

After meeting with Curt Connors to no avail to find out just what the black substance on him is. Peter Parker meets with a man who Connors advised him to speak to in Reed Richards (Timothy Olyphant). A respected scientist in his field and regarded by many as a genius it doesn't take long for Reed to determine that what the black substance is a symbiote. On further tests over the coming weeks Reed warns Peter that in this prolonged exposure the Symbiote is feeding off him which is why certain characteristics in Peter have changed. When Peter further complains of feeling tired Reed asks to lock him in a clean room to observe his sleeping patterns. It is in this scene we saw a truly frightening moment as the symbiote completely overtook Peter turning him into a creature when he was sleeping. However it was during this moment that Reed found a chink in the symbiote's armor which was it's weakness to extremely loud sound. During these meetings it was also clear but never spoken aloud that Reed was fully aware of Peter's other identity.

Meanwhile while Peter was actively looking to change things had changed following the death of Harry Osborn for one Otto Octavius. Due to a freak accident during the explosion in his lab caused by Harry's battle with Spiderman, Otto's tentacled Harness had fully latched onto his body and was unable to be removed. In humiliation of his previous plan falling together as well as anger at his situation Otto Octavius now naming himself Doctor Octopus went on a rampage looking to draw out Spiderman. This rampage would put a halt to Reed and Peter's experiments as Peter stated he had to deal with this first with Reed agreeing as he claimed in the meantime there was a theory he wanted to test with a small sample. The following scenes would then show an interview between J Jonah Jameson and Spencer Smythe as Jonah looked to speak with a friend of Otto Octavius as news of his rampage spread. In the chat it was made perfectly clear by Smythe that he had developed a full hatred of Spiderman himself and he fully blamed him for Otto's predicament. Meanwhile in downtown New York Spiderman and Doctor Octopus met. Claiming that he had once seen potential in Spiderman but now he realized like Harry he was just an impulsive child. In the ensuing battle Doctor Octopus claimed he would not be defeated again as he threw Spiderman all across the street. Meanwhile Peter had to contend with an issue of his own as he was shocked by the fact that in this battle the webbing in his black spiderman suit was organic and not by cartridges of his own creation. Battling both Doctor Octopus as well as the sybmiote itself which looked to take control proved to be tough but in the end Peter was successful as he was able to defeat Otto and leave him to be arrested by the police.

Shaken by what he had found due to the effects of the symbiote Peter met once again with Reed Richards who had come up with a plan to remove the symbiote from Peter. Calling it a painful process Reed used a sonic emitter to weaken it and actually free Parker from the sybmiote before trapping it in a modified clean room he'd used on Peter earlier. Looking to keep the symbiote for further study, Reed would then advise Peter to get some much needed rest. Finally with the symbiote gone we saw a return to form for Peter Parker as he got back to a normal life. With things improving Peter formed a close friendship with Felcia Hardy all the while keeping his relationship with Mary Jane Watson. This was much to relief of Aunt May. As Peter returned to form and built bridges with some of the people he hurt under the influence of the symbiote including Matt Murdock and Betty Brandt. Spiderman also looked to make amends with the city for his volatile actions in the black suit. Now back in his trademark red and blue suit despite J Jonah's best efforts the public slowly welcomed Spiderman back. That is of course all but Eddie Brock who harbored a deep resentment towards both Peter Parker and Spiderman for ruining his life.

Unfortunately for Peter the symbiote proved to be more dangerous than imagined as it managed to escape it's cell and go back in pursuit of Peter. With it quickly latching onto his suit a panicking Peter headed to the closest building he could find in an effort to free himself from it. This would be the Our Lady of Saints church. At the top of the church with the symbiote beginning to take over Peter panicked and began using the bell and it's ringing as a means to weaken the symbiote. Coincidentally at the same time Eddie Brock was in the church praying for forgiveness following a suicide attempt. As some nearby officers also became interested by the ringing of the bells Eddie crept to the floor below Spiderman as the symbiote fell down and latched itself to Eddie Brock transforming him into Venom. Unfortunately for the two officers they would quickly become victims of this new creature as Venom ruthlessly killed both men in it's escape from the church. With the symbiote now apart of him Eddie Brock was offered numerous pieces of information about it's previous host including the fact that Peter Parker was in fact Spiderman.

While at first both Eddie and the symbiote may have had some growing pains over time Eddie Brock embraced the symbiote as it realized that they in fact had a common goal or more specifically a common enemy. A mention here has to go to Ryan Kwanten and his portrayal of Brock with his desperation and hatred of Spiderman/Peter Parker combined with this alien part of him driving him insane. Driven over the edge with his rage and hatred consuming him Eddie Brock was a new man who sought the downfall of Peter Parker/Spiderman. At first it started small such as him posing as an old friend of Peter's in meetings with Aunt May and Mary Jane but then it became a lot more bolder including a frightening scene where in his venom form Eddie threatened Mary Jane. With reports of this dark suited creature out there Reed Richards contacted Peter Parker. At first unsure if the symbiote reunited with Parker. Reed's next concern was that the symbiote had found a host with whom it could seek revenge with. Realising the threat the sybmiote posed Peter asked Reed for the sonic emitter.

Looking to draw out the symbiote Peter Park swung aimlessly through the city as he hoped to act as bait. Soon Peter would find himself tackled in mid air by Venom with the two falling onto a roof of an apartment building. During this fight Peter realized that the symbiote had fully bonded with it's host. This would then lead to Peter discovering that it was in fact Eddie Brock who was now attached to the symbiote. Trying to reason with Eddie, Peter sympathized as he stated he knows what it feels like to have the symbiote apart of you but that he also knows how much it changes you. Sadly unlike Peter who saw sense and looked to remove the symbiote Eddie Brock had fully embraced it as part of him. The following fight would see Venom very much share the same abilities as Spiderman as well as possess a noted strength advantage as he ruthlessly and relentlessly beat down Spiderman. Seeing he was no match for Eddie in a one on one fight Peter looked to flee by swinging from his webs with Venom in close pursuit.

Reaching the church it appeared Peter had actually planned to lure Venom here all along as using a small ear piece he was able to contact Reed Richards in order to let him know they was on their way. Once in the church Venom again had Spiderman beat when Spiderman used the loud ringing of the bell in order to weaken Venom. With Eddie and the symbiote both screaming in pain Spiderman continued to ring the bell as Reed Richards appeared and began to fire the sonic emitter. Despite their efforts while the sybmiote was weakened heavily both it and Brock refused to let go of one another. Thinking quickly Peter began to pummel both Eddie and the Symbiote causing it to recklessly fire out webs which narrowly missed it. Eventually the symbiote was compromised and Peter began taunting it. Trying to call it to him as it reminded him of the power they shared. The weaken symbiote started to trying to detach itself from Eddie. The trauma of this separation would knock Eddie out and once the symbiote was fully free Spiderman and Reed used the sonic emitter to trap it in a sonic containment unit. With the symbiote fully contained Peter thanked Reed for his help before he picked up a weakened Eddie Brock and helped him to the hospital.
"Everybody says those words. You know the ones. I don't want to die alone. But I've come to find in my experience. That it's not the alone part that truly scares people.. No it's the dying!" Cletus Kasady

As time goes by we are then shown some articles detailing that Eddie Brock had been arrested for at least two counts of murder. Charged and sent to Riker's Island Eddie was set to live out the rest of his days behind bars. Sadly for Eddie even here he wouldn't have it easy as he was assigned to a cell with serial killer Cletus Kasady (Matthew Lillard). Sociopathic, sadistic, completely insane and disturbed it seemed that the only pleasure Kasady took was in tormenting Eddie Brock. Meanwhile following his confrontation with Venom, Peter Parker met with Mary Jane. Looking to explain everything Peter was stunned when Mary Jane instead revealed that she has known all along. Reminding Peter how their aunts were neighbors and how she used to stay there Mary Jane recalled witnessing Peter sneak out of his bedroom one night early on in his run as Spiderman. Stating that it wasn't her secret to share. Mary Jane had kept it too herself this entire time. Stunned at this revelation but finally ready to move on Peter would waste no time in declaring his love for Mary Jane with the closing scene of season 4 being the two kissing.

During the credits of season 4 we were then treated to four post credit scenes. All of which focused on potential plot points for season 5. The first of which would see a man (Chris Carmack) wash up onto a beach. As a random passerby checked on him the man introduced himself as Morris Bench. The next two scenes would then focus on Oscorp itself with the first showing Spencer Smythe completing his work on what he calls a Spider Slayer. All the while a smirking J Jonah Jameson is watching on. Meanwhile elsewhere in oscorp a desperate Curt Connors would drink the serum he and Otto Octavius worked on previously. Finally the last and most in depth scene in the post credits returned to the prison where Eddie Brock and Cletus Kasady where held. Sick of Kasady tormenting him Eddie Brock attacked his cell mate with the two engaging in a brief scuffle ending with Eddie throwing Kasady to the ground. Before Kasady could get back up Eddie was stunned and delighted when seeping through the bars of his cell was him symbiote. Having somehow escaped it's containment the symbiote latches on to Brock turning him back into Venom before Eddie escapes the prison. But what he doesn't know in all the chaos is part of the symbiote also latched on to Cletus! The closing seconds would see the screen black out as Kasady began to laugh maniacally.

    Re: Marvel

Spiderman season 5 confirmed ~ Synopsis revealed ~ Characters confirmed

Following a highly successful season 4 of the Spiderman series. It is not surprising that a 5th season of the Spiderman story has been commissioned. Similar to the fourth season this coming season will focus on a two part storyline. The first of which will focus heavily on the Spider Slayers as well as the quest by J Jonah Jameson to bring down Spiderman. While the second half will return to the symbiote saga and not just focus on Venom but also the rise of Carnage. It is also believed that in this season we will get our first looks at The Lizard, Hydro Man and The Sin Eater.

    Kevin Bacon as Miles Warren
Ahead of the the next season it is no surprise that several new characters have been announced. The first of which was Miles Warren. A former professor at Empire State University unlike his colleague Curt Connors. Miles Warren has never been fond of Peter Parker. Instead there was only one student he ever truly appeared to be proud of with that being Gwen Stacy. Angry with Spiderman following her death and also with Peter Parker for failing to protect her. Warren's fondness of Gwen Stacy appears to go much stronger than a teacher of his student. Playing Warren will be The Following actor Kevin Bacon.

    Michael Pitt as Alistair Smythe
The son of Spencer Smythe. The wheel chair bound Alistair Smythe unlike his father does not hold the same hatred of the Spider. Instead Alistair has focused his life on working for a way to get out of his chair. Unfortunately soon because of unforeseen reasons Alistair will soon become a part of his father's plot. Playing Alistair will be Boardwalk Empire star Michael Pitt.

    Mat Vairo as Mark Raxton
A longtime employee at Oscorp as well as the older brother of Liz Allan. Mark Raxton has lately been working under Spencer Smythe in the role of an engineer. Sadly for Raxton, despite loving his job his relationship with Smythe is hardly harmonious leading to an event which will alter his life forever. Playing Raxton will be Revolution actor Mat Vairo.

    Zachary Quinto as Mysterio
Quentin Beck was once a magician, hypnotist and stuntman. Basically he would do anything possible in order to make his name and be famous. However he found overtime that the easiest way to get his name out there was as a criminal known as Mysterio. Equipped with all manner of technology including special effects. Mysterio uses these as part of his bank robberies to evade capture. Playing the role of Mysterio will be Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto.

    Hakeem Kae Kazim as Ezekiel
A mysterious individual who is said to pop up near the end of the season. Ezekiel is described as a man who has kept his eye on Spiderman for a long while. Having watched him mature, struggle and become the hero he is today. It is unknown for what reason Ezekiel has kept tabs on Spiderman but he will soon find out when Ezekiel makes contact. Playing Ezekiel will be Black Sails actor Hakeem Kae Kazim.

    Simon Quartermain as Ned Leeds
A reporter at the daily bugle and the boyfriend of Betty Brandt. One might expect that this would make things awkward between Ned Leeds and Peter Parker. However instead the two are said to be great friends with Ned very much being the kind of person that everyone likes with his good nature. Lately however Ned is believed to be chasing a story that he is keeping very close to the chest. One which might put him in danger. Playing the role of Ned will be Westworld actor Simon Quartermain.

    Michelle Borth as Jean DeWolff
A cop for the NYPD. For a long time Jean DeWolff was under the belief that Spiderman was a problem in the city. But following his assistance in taking down the likes of the Sinister Six, The Kingpin and the Manfredi family. DeWolff has changed her tune and thoroughly embraced the Spiderman as an ally to help prevent crime. Playing the role of DeWolff will be Hawaii Five O actress Michelle Borth.

    Justin Theroux as Stanley Carter
Rounding out the cast will be Jean DeWolff's on again off again lover Stanley Carter. Also a police detective in the NYPD. Carter is a former member of SHIELD who left to work closer to home and his family. While a good cop and a devout religious man, Carter is also very troubled following the recent death of a fellow officer at the hands of Venom. Playing Carter will be the Leftovers star Justin Theroux.

Carrying on this series of reveals Ryan then introduced several new castings during this panel for some of the heroes mentioned. They are as followed.

    Scott Porter as Scott Lang/Ant-Man
With the Ant-Man series promising to be surprisingly dark in the story of Hank Pym (Robert Carlyle). It is no surprise that there is to be more than one Ant-Man shown in the series. The other will of course be Scott Lang. A thief and a down on his luck father, Scott Lang returns to a life of crime in order to provide for his daughter. In doing so he becomes associated with Hank Pym and it changes his life forever. Playing the role of Scott Lang will be Hart of Dixie actor Scott Porter.

    Travis Fimmel as Thor
The Asgardian god of thunder as well as the son of Odin. Thor is very much described as the heir to his father's throne as ruler of Asgard. Wielder of Mjolnir, Thor is a fearsome warrior with the ability to control all the elements of the storm. However with his many victories in combat has come a headstrong and arrogant side of Thor. One which does not sit well with his father or the rest of his family. Playing Thor will be Vikings actor Travis Fimmel.

Max Brown as Brian Braddock/Captain Britain
Born and raised in a quaint town of Maldon in Essex. Brian Braddock along with older brother Jamie and twin sisty Betsy were left orphans at a young age following the deaths of their parents. Despite this trauma, Brian grew up into a decent man with a thirst for knowledge as he became a respected member of the Darkmoor Nuclear Facility. But on one tragic night which left many of his colleagues dead due to a unknown incident. Brian's life was changed forever. Gifted with the Amulet of Right, Brian's entire DNA changed turning him into the hero Captain Britain. Thus making him England's first superhero. Playing the role of Brian will be Beauty and the Beast actor Max Brown.

    Dianne Kruger as Susan Storm
Following the death of her mother at a young age and the later incarceration of her father. Susan Storm had to grow up very quickly as it was down to her to take care of younger brother Johnny. Along the way Susan met and fell in love with Reed Richards. Despite not being a scientist herself Susan acted as an assistant to Reed in all his projects and looked to help Reed achieve his dreams. Ron Perlman as Ben Grimm

While not actively intelligent as his friend. Ben Grimm had a lot of natural skills and gifts physically and was a true hard worker. Hunter Parish as Johnny Storm
Rounding out the new characters announced is Sue's younger brother Johnny Storm. Young in age compared to the rest of the group. Johnny is very much a wild child at heart. Re: Marvel

Hulk season 1 plotline revealed ~ few more characters announced

Set to air soon will be the first ever season of Hulk as part of the Fox Marvel Universe. The first season will cover over the origin story of Bruce Banner (Hugh Dancy) and just how he became the Hulk. This season will also show the fall out of Banner's incident which led to him becoming The Hulk and how it affected his relationships with the likes of Betty Ross (Nikki Reed) and General Thunderbolt Ross (Ted Levine). Also believed to be a focal point of this season will be his relationship with his father Brian (Richard Brake) and the lengths General Ross will go in an effort to capture the Hulk.

    Morgan Spector as Igor Starsky
Bruce Banner's lab assistant, Igor Starsky is the man who worked diligently alongside Bruce Banner for many years to help build his Gamma Bomb. In those years Igor also became a trusted friend. Which makes his decision to ignore Bruce's orders to postpone the test all the more surprising. Playing the role of Igor Starsky will be The Mist actor Morgan Spector.

Chad Michael Murray as Frank Payne/Constrictor
A former SHIELD agent turned mercenary, The man known as Frank Payne has earned his nickname as Constrictor thanks to his usage of electrified metal coil whips. His loyalty being with the highest bidder Payne is a part of a squad employed by Thunderbolt Ross to capture the Hulk. Playing the role of Constrictor will be Agent Carter actor Chad Michael Murray.

    Victoria Smurfit as Rebecca Banner
The mother of Bruce Banner and the long suffering wife of Brian Banner. Rebecca Banner by all accounts was a wonderful woman and a great mother to her son. It was just unfortunate that of all the people she wound up marrying it was Brian Banner. Playing the role of Rebecca will be Dracula actress Victoria Smurfit.

Gemma Whelan as Cary St. Lawrence
A female soldier who works closely with general Ross. Cary St.Lawrence is a loyal woman who is fully committed to her job. This has very much put her as an adversary to Bruce Banner. As she is one hundred percent following the orders to capture him. Playing Cary will be Game of Thrones actress Gemma Whelan.

    Kevin Rahm as Konrad Zaxon
The replacement of Bruce Banner. Dr.Konrad Zaxon has been personally employed by general Ross to assist with the capture of The Hulk. However it is believed that Zaxon does in fact have his own agenda. As he wants the powers for himself. Playing the role of Zaxon will be Bates Motel actor Kevin Rahm.

    Miguel Gomez as Ferdinand Lopez/Machete
Finally rounding out the cast will be another mercenary employed by General Ross. Ferdinand Lopez better known to some as Machete is apart of the same team as Constrictor. A skilled combatant known for his use of Bladed weaponry. Playing the role of Machete will be The Strain actor Miguel Gomez.

    Re: Marvel

    Fox Broadcasting Presents

    The Hulk Season 1: Origins

"You don't want to make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry!" Bruce Banner/Hulk

"I'm going to end the menace of the Hulk, Once and for all." General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross

It can be safe to say that after mixed results in it's early days. The Fox Marvel Universe headed by former Gotham City Stories writer Andrew Ryan has finally began to achieve it's potential. This would of course be following a series of well received miniseries for characters such as Blade, Moon Knight and Ghost Rider. As well as a highly regarded fourth season of it's Spiderman Narrative. Now with that complete we are moving onto it's next series which will focus on that of Bruce Banner/Hulk (Hugh Dancy). With a talented actor in the reigns of the titular lead it was safe to say the character was in safe hands with Hugh Dancy being able to handle the complexities of the character. From his high intellect and his belief that all his suffering meant something. Bruce Banner was shown that while not a strong character physically had a strong will and despite depressive tendencies was unwilling to give up on his belief that he could find a cure. Meanwhile in his portrayal Dancy was also able to focus on the relationship and internal struggle Banner had with the Hulk. As while the two may have shared the same body their relationship was complex and not harmonious. As while contrasts to Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde are easy to make. In this case Hulk wasn't entirely bad and the resentment they shared for one another was down to more personal reasons examined over this season.

The opening scenes for this show actually took a different take from many of the show's as seen previously. Because in the opening scene rather than first focus on the hero. We instead was shown the 'villain' of the show General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (Ted Levine). These early scenes took place in the near future and showed the general in the middle of a conference call with a series of voices all of whom are presumed to be his higher ups. With a gruff, tough exterior Ross in many ways wasn't a typical villain as deep down he was a good man who wanted to do good things. It was just his misguided view of Bruce Banner/Hulk which made him technically a villain here. Over the course of his talks General Ross explained what appeared to be a series of incidents. Starting out with what he knew of the tragic tale of Bruce Banner and his early life. A series of short scenes focused on Bruce's childhood. This troubled up bringing saw both his mother Rebecca (Victoria Smurfit) and Bruce the recipient of horrific abuse at the hands of his father Brian (Richard Brake). With Brian often calling his son a monster as he brutally beat him. This would lead to Rebecca planning to make an escape with her son when she was killed by Brian. The consequences of this would lead to Brian being arrested and Bruce going into care. Growing up Bruce grew into a brilliant young man who began working under General Ross on his Gamma Ray project. While working here for many years Bruce also became associated with General Ross' daughter Betty Ross (Nikki Reed). With Betty shown to be a caring, determined young woman who quickly fell for Bruce. With the feelings mutual Bruce also developed a rather adversarial relationship with Major Glenn Talbot (Michael Raymond James) who likewise shared feelings for Betty Ross. Albeit with his being unrequited. Also apart of this scene was General Ross' loyal number two Cary St.Lawrence (Gemma Whelan) and Bruce's assistant Igor Starsky (Morgan Spector).

While Ross continues to narrate these flashbacks we also see a few more members of his team including Clay Quartermain (Charles Halford) and Emil Blonsky (David Lyons). Moving on from Bruce's start with working for General Ross. The story then moves ahead to the day that his life changed forever. As during a covert test of Banner's Gamma Bomb, Bruce noticed something in the test field that should not be there or rather someone. Young man Rick Jones (Amadeus Serafini) following a dare from some of his friends made the decision to sneak onto the test site unaware of the dangers he would face or put himself in. Ordering Igor to stop the test, Bruce rushed onto the field and pushed Jones to safety. Unfortunately rather than postponing the test or stopping it all together Igor made the decision to continue the test as scheduled. This decision caused Bruce to be caught in the gamma bomb explosion which exposed his body to a massive amount of gamma radiation. The fall out of the explosion would see both Bruce and Jones placed in isolation and observation with many believing the still unconscious Banner to be not long for this earth.

Under suspicion following the explosion Igor Starsky looked to cover for himself and actually finish Bruce Banner rather than risk Bruce waking up exposing what he did. But in his attempt to kill Bruce, Igor was the first to discover that the gamma radiation didn't kill Bruce. Instead in some ways it only made Bruce stronger as awakening from his coma Bruce transformed into the lumbering, brute known as the Hulk. A panicked Igor attempted to still go through with his plot only to be easily killed by Hulk. With soldiers unable to stop him Hulk escaped the facility with ease much to the horror of General Ross. Fortunately it wouldn't take long for him to find Bruce Banner and at first the two would work together in a capacity. That is until General Ross steadily began to realize just how little control Bruce had over his transformations. Meanwhile Betty Ross would begin her diligent work for a cure. Unfortunately she found herself working with Konrad Zaxon (Kevin Rahm). The replacement for professor Banner, Zaxon was a slimy individual who in reality had no interest in helping anyone but himself.

This truly became apparent in an experiment watched over by General Ross in which Ross and Zaxon looked to cure Bruce but instead triggered a transformation. With the Hulk's rage growing Zaxon revealed this was part of his game plan to steal the Hulk's power. Unfortunately for Konrad his attempts would fail and lead to him also dying at the hands of the Hulk. Once more fleeing the facility this time with General Ross ordering his death. Bruce Banner wisely realized that to return this time would be suicide. General Ross meanwhile having lost two people from his team no matter how corrupt or evil they were. Was angry and wanted Banner destroyed. Knowing as well that Bruce wouldn't return and would try and hide. Ross began to formulate a plan in an effort to bring Bruce out of hiding. Which mean that he needed to work with the man who first called Bruce a monster, Brian Banner. Offered a chance to help basically execute his son, Brian Banner jumped at the chance to be released from jail under Ross' jurisdiction. Working with Ross, Brian was firmly under the belief that in order to fight and kill a monster sometimes you have to become one yourself or better yet work with other monsters.

While Bruce may have lost an ally in General Ross he still had two strong ones out there. The first of which was Betty Ross who refused to give up hope on curing Bruce. This would bring her into constant conflict with her father and his belief that Banner is a monster who could not be saved. The other ally was a more surprising one as Rick Jones looked to atone for his actions and now proved to be a good friend to Bruce as he stayed hidden. This included trying to prevent any transformations by keeping Bruce calm while also bringing him whatever he needed. Unfortunately for Betty while she worked for a cure she now found herself sharing a lab with Brian Banner. With General Ross' full approval Banner began some experiments on wild boars using gamma radiation turning them into two mutated, monstrous creatures he only defined as #26 & #27. Despite not being a fan of Banners, Glenn Talbot on witnessing these subjects was disgusted and he took it up with the general. Mentioning all the times they had worked together in the past Talbot appeared to over estimate his chances as he stated that he and his team could handle this and bring the Hulk down. Showing respect for Talbot and his tenure Ross looked to give him the benefit of the doubt as he assigned Talbot Cary, Clay and Blonsky as well as part of his team before informing Glenn that should this go wrong he will have to take drastic measures.

"Looks like it's time for Daddy to come home!" Brian Banner

"I can't let Bruce go, Why can't you get that? Letting him go would be like forgetting my heart or even my soul." Betty Ross

"That Green Skinned gargoyle has to die. It is too dangerous to be left out in this world. If we was ever going to have our moment to kill it. It is now!" Glenn Talbot

As he continued his work and research into his son's accident. Brian Banner also found himself earning more of General Ross' trust. This included him paying a visit to the home of Rick Jones. Unaware that Bruce was hiding out in the basement below. Brian began asking if his son had been in contact to which Rick Jones lied and said he hadn't seen Banner since that fateful day. Hearing his father's voice for the first time since he was a boy. Bruce was haunted with flashbacks from his childhood and it took all he could in order to stop a transformation. But while he may have controlled himself Bruce still acted rash as he fled out of Jones' home through a back window following Brian's exit. Upset and filled with grief at the shocking return of his father Bruce headed to his mother's grave when he was met by his father. As his father revealed that they had known Rick was helping him all along. Brian condemned his son once again calling him a monster as it became clear that he wanted nothing more than his son to turn and prove him right. As he justified himself for what he had done it took all Bruce had to stop himself from transforming. The tipping point was when Brian struck his son once again just like he was a child. Attacking Brian before he can turn Bruce's errant attack led to a shocking conclusion as Brian would fall following one of Bruce's punches and in his stumble backwards he'd hit his head on Rebecca's tombstone. While a freak occurrence the end result would see Brian die from the fall and on witnessing his death having observed the entire scene by a drone. General Ross ordered his soldiers in as Bruce began to transform into the Hulk.

In this battle with a team led by General Talbot we saw the full force of what the Hulk could do as he tore through several armed vehicles in the cemetery. Seeing the likes of Blonsky, Lawrence and Quartermain all having to flee would cause General Ross to order the release of #26 and #27 into the field. This would allow the soldiers to begin to flee with the wounded. In his battle with the mutated boars Hulk found two tough savage opponents. During this fight Hulk's rage grew as these two enhanced creatures battled with enhanced intelligence and strength. However they was soon to be no match for the Hulk who killed both creatures in battle. Angered on seeing his whole operation fall Glenn Talbot recklessly continued firing at Hulk from a minigun on the back of one of the destroyed cars. Ignoring orders to back down Talbot allowed his hatred for Banner to consume him as all this did was anger Hulk further. In his rage Hulk would flip the car with Talbot in it crushing the general beneath the wreckage. With the death of one of his most trusted confidants and reports of one of his failed experiments out there. A desperate General Ross found himself confronted once more by his daughter Betty. Once again Betty looked to talk her father round but Ross by this point had gone too far to look back. It wouldn't just be Betty who confronted Ross either as Ross' actions found him at odds with both Clay Quartermain and Cary St.Lawrence.

With two of his most loyal soldiers questioning his decision to bring in a covert team of mercenaries/criminals. Ross being stubborn as he is was more committed than ever to bring the Hulk down. Removing both Cary and Clay from the field with designs to keep them on the base with him. Ross also met with Emil Blonsky with the same intention. Here however was the turning point for Blonsky as a character. While his material before was limited Blonsky from this point as a character evolved as he craved the freedom of being a mercenary and really began to enjoy the free willed life of a bad guy. Along with Emil Blonsky this new team was comprised of Frank Payne/Constrictor (Chad Michael Murray), Ferdinand Lopez/Machete (Miguel Gomez) and a man described in many ways as a 'care package' Carl Creel (Nathan Jones). Betty meanwhile concerned about how father's fall met up with Rick Jones. As she told him all she knew Rick brought her to Bruce who while happy to see her also remained concerned about the danger he posed to her. Stating that all she wants to do is help him Betty begin talking about her attempts to cure the samples of blood they have at the base. Remarking that so far it's been unsuccessful Bruce counters that maybe he'll have to find a way to control it. Warning Bruce of her father's plans Betty is dismissive of Bruce telling her she is also in danger. It is here that both Betty and Rick promise to stand by Bruce no matter what happens.

Sadly though while General Ross may still be against taking action against his daughter. When it came to Rick Jones he wasn't as against it. Because later that night Rick Jones was confronted by Emil Blonsky. Relishing the chance to be free of morals and the right thing Blonsky knocked out Rick Jones and with his team's help took him back to the dessert base. On hearing of these covert ops Clay Quartermain and Cary would confront General Ross as they remarked how Talbot was out of control and that Blonsky was much worse. Reaching out to his daughter General Ross would inform her what was happening that if Bruce didn't show up things would get very bad for Rick. Arriving at the lab on her own in an effort to plead with her father, Betty Ross was horrified to see that Rick Jones had been beaten by Emil Blonsky. With threats that he'd be tortured by both Machete and Constrictor should they not get what they want. With this news telling him that he had to do something. Bruce Banner rushed to the base with the news of what was happening to his friend putting him over the edge. Transforming into the Hulk Bruce attacked the base.

Easily over running several of the soliders and defenses at the front of the base. Hulk began to make it inside while General Ross and Cary watched on from a control room. While concerned with her bosses' actions Cary remained loyal and at his side. Whereas Clay Quartermain fully disgusted at what he had seen used this time to help both Betty Ross and Rick Jones flee the bass. During Hulk's attack a man known as Samuel Sterns (Johnny Lee Miller) was sent hurtling through the doors of the lab containing all kinds of radioactive materials. Growing disillusioned with her bosses' coldness to what was going on Cary St.Lawrence finally looked to flee the base while Ross ordered Carl Creel to go after the Hulk. It would be hear that Creel would reveal his abilities as absorbing man as he was able to alter the molecular structure in his body to mimic any structure he touched. While at first in turning to bricks he found Hulk still able to damage him. By turning into pure steel Absorbing Man was able to damage Hulk and using pure brute force was able to finally beat him into a state of unconscious. This would see Hulk slowly revert to Bruce Banner much to General Ross' delight.

In this state several arguments and disagreements would take place in Bruce's subconscious between himself and the Hulk. As while the two acknowledged they was one in the same their differences were many. With Hulk writing off Banner as weak and a coward who could not save his mother. In these arguments Bruce also slowly began to find that he had misjudged the Hulk. While the two may never get along Bruce began to see that this Hulk inside him wasn't a villain or a monster. Instead it was a part of him which was still capable of doing the right thing. Slowly waking up still in the form of Bruce Banner, Bruce found himself heavily restrained as General Ross stood in front of him. With disgust in his eyes Ross appeared to be disappointed that Bruce was still alive. Calling him a tough nut to crack General Ross promised that he would finally eliminate him no matter what the cost. Meanwhile Emil Blonsky along with Constrictor began hunting for Ross and Jones. With the duo having not gotten far thanks to Rick's injuries they were soon collected by the mercenary pairing. Back at the base General Ross had Machete torture Banner who despite the pain was refusing to turn into the monster the General kept branding him to be.

As the news came that Blonsky and Constrictor had forcefully brought back Betty and Rick Jones. It became apparent that General Ross may not have been as in control as he would have liked to believe with this outfit. Seeing that they had both Rick and Betty it appeared the threat of violence against those he held dear was too much for Banner to contain his emotions. As Bruce began to turn he snapped the restraints holding him down as it appeared that he fully had his emotions in check this time round. Quickly Machete looked to stab Hulk but he was sent careening through a window while Blonksy and Constrictor backed up. Constrictor looked to lash Hulk with one of his whips but Hulk caught it and pulled Constrictor in before viciously breaking his arms. As Constrictor screams in pain Hulk then threw him back into Blonsky knocking both men down. Looking over to Betty and Jones it definitely seemed that Banner was able to channel Hulk as he ordered them to go. As his friends fled Hulk found himself facing off once more with Absorbing Man who took a steel form for the battle once more. This time however with Banner's knowledge behind him Hulk was able to trick Absorbing Man and use his powers against him as he turned to glass. This allowed Hulk to smash through Absorbing Man putting an end to a horrified General Ross' team of mercenaries.

Days would then pass with many statements from the likes of Betty Ross, Rick Jones and Cary St.Lawrence all going public about what happened as well as General Ross' actions. Bruce Banner meanwhile would continue to go into hiding with the whole world seemingly after him for one reason to another. The story than wrapped up as it began with General Ross' phone call to his superiors. As he tried to explain his side of the story to no avail, Ross was instead branded reckless and dangerous before he was indefinitely suspended from his post and ordered to leave the base. In his place Cary St.Lawrence would step in and run things for now.

"He doesn't get to win this. When he is involved there is no such thing as winners. All you hear about instead is chaos, destruction and death. Now though. Bruce will finally know what it is like to lose." Emil Blonsky

While the closing scenes of the first season of the Hulk appeared to wrap things up nicely for now. As is expected a couple of post credit scenes then aired making for what could be some intriguing plot lines for season 2. The first of which would show General Ross standing by in a covert lab along with Emil Blonsky. As the two men discussed what went wrong with their last plan Ross quoted Brian Banner in stating that sometimes to kill a monster you must become one. Nodding his head in agreement Blonsky then allowed some doctors to strap him to a table before they began injecting him with a serum. The second scene would then show Samuel Sterns having fully recovered from his incident as he is now sitting in his study reading multiple books at a rapid pace. However soon it becomes apparent that something is wrong as Sterns collapses on the floor holding his head in agony. Finally the last post credit scene appeared to tease for a possible future cross over as Clay Quartermain revealed his true allegiance as he met with Nick Fury. Now revealed to be a undercover agent of SHIELD. Clay mentioned to Fury that while he doesn't have a lock on Banner, he has the trust of Ross and Jones who in turn could lead them to what could be a valuable asset.

    Re: Marvel

Hulk season 2 confirmed ~ Plotline revealed ~ New characters announced

While considered by some insiders a risky move. It is safe to say that the first season of the Hulk proved to be a rousing success as it has been looked upon as one of the stronger entries in the Fox Marvel series thus far. Unsurprisingly a second season has been confirmed with the plot lines following closely after the end of the first season. With fallout from the appearance of the Hulk and the exposure of General Ross' illicit experiments now public knowledge. It is no surprise that the hunt for Bruce Banner (Hugh Dancy) is at an all time high. Despite being suspended General Ross (Ted Levine) is still focused on bringing an end to the hulk while some new foes and potential allies arrive on the scene.

    Jimmi Simpson as Leonard Skivorski
A life long friend of Betty Ross, Leonard Skivorski is one of the few allies and confidants she had who worked under her father. A psychiatrist and doctor Leonard while potentially harboring resentment for Bruce due to his relationship with Betty. Agrees to lend a hand in an effort to cure him. Playing the role of Leonard will be Westworld actor Jimmi Simpson.

    Matt Dillon as John Ryker
A comrade and friend of General Ross. General John Ryker similar to his friend holds a hatred for Bruce Banner/Hulk albeit for more personal reasons. This causes Ryker to reach out to Ross in an effort to work alongside one another. However it soon becomes clear that Ryker doesn't so much want Hulk dead as much as he wants the power it possesses. Playing the role of Ryker will be Wayward Pines actor Matt Dillon.

James Frain as Geoffrey CrawfordA former physics professor turned researcher. Geoffrey Crawford has a storied past with Bruce Banner. The two men had previously studied with one another at university and had developed a rather adversarial relationship. Since then Crawford has began working for Ryker as the two plot against the Hulk. Playing the role of Crawford will be Gotham actor James Frain.

Daniel Sharman as Samuel J. LaRoquetteA young and brilliant mind. Samuel LaRoquette was for most part a decorated teacher. That is at least until he was recently discovered to have had illicit relations with several students. With his reputation tarnished and his reputation ruined Samuel would begin travelling until an event would change his life. Playing the role of Samuel will be Fear the walking dead actor Daniel Sharman.

Alycia Debnam Carey as Louise Lembert
At one point Louise Lembert was on top of the world. A decorated athlete with a wealthy family it seemed the world was her oyster. Until questions about her sexuality and a relationship with a fellow student put her future into question. By chance Lembert was also present for an event which would alter her life. Playing the role of Lembert will be Fear the Walking dead actress Alycia Debnam Carey.

    Emily Kinney as Jessie Harrison
By all accounts unlike some of the others mentioned caught up in what is being called an 'event'. Jessie Harrison didn't truly stand out for any right or wrong reason as instead she was a quiet, timid young woman. In fact the reason she was there is because she was running from her abusive boyfriend. Playing the role of of Jessie would be Walking Dead actress Emily Kinney.

    Michelle Krusiec as Diane Davids
At one time Diane Davids was the woman to call if you wanted to get off free for a crime. The skilled lawyer was used to tearing down witnessing and going to any depths possible to win. Until one day she had enough and sabotaged her own client at the cost of her career. Now destitute and her reputation in tatters Diane is similarly caught up in an event. Playing the role of Diane will be Hawaii five o actress Michelle Krusiec.

    Ukweli Roach as Burt Horowitz
Along with all the others mentioned as apart of the event. Low level salesman Burt Horowitz was present in Middletown. Stuck in a dead end job with no prospects Horowitz is very much a man with not much going for him which causes him to truly embrace what is coming. Playing Burt will be Blindspot actor Ukweli Roach

    David Wilmott as Jason McCall
Rounding out the group of Middleton residents is defrocked priest Jason McCall. At one time a respected member of the community. McCall was recently exposed for stealing money from the church for his own gains. Like the others McCall is present for the event. Playing Jason will be Black Sails actor.

William Mapother as Maynard Tiboldt/The Ringmaster ~ Matt Servito as Eliot Franklin/The Clown ~ Martyn Ford as Bruce Olafsen/Strongman ~ Jon Foo as Jack Pulver/Human Cannonball ~ Francois Arnaud As The Great Gabonnos ~ Bex Taylor Klaus as Princess Python
While not set to be apart of the series for long. It can be confirmed that the Circus of Crime will be appearing early on as minor antagonists for the Hulk. Led by Maynard Tiboldt, the circus preys on the people unlucky enough to visit it's show with The Ringmaster himself often hypnotizing those in attendance before taking the audience for all they are worth. Playing the role of Maynard Tibolt/The Ringmaster will be Lost Actor William Mapother. Joining The ringmaster in this group is his weapon specialist The Clown who is played by Banshee actor Matt Servito. Acting as the group muscle is Strongman played by Boyka actor Martyn Ford. While one of the weaker members, one of their most daring is the human cannonball played by rush hour actor Jon Foo. Adding to the group with speed are twin acrobats the Gabonno brothers who will be played by Blindspot actor Francois Arnaud. While rounding out the group is the dangerous animal controller Princess Python who is played by Scream actress Bex Taylor Klaus.

    Re: Marvel

    Fox Broadcasting Presents

    Iron Man Season 4: Extremis

"You are going to melt inside that suit when this hits you Stark. They are going to have to pour you out of that suit!" Mallen

Going into the fourth season of the Iron Man series. It was safe to say that the series was very much at it's darkest point in season three. This of course was in part to the storyline known as Demon in a Bottle which focused heavily on many of Tony Stark 's (Jack Huston) demons. While many enjoyed the previous season some did find the overly dark tale hard to stick with. Which is why when this season promised things to be less darker and more of a turning point in the life of Tony Stark. There was a hope of a return to form for the Iron Man series. Continuing on the concurrent theme of sins of Tony Stark's past coming back to haunt him. The primary antagonist of this season would be one with past ties to Tony albeit a lot different of a connection when compared to previous villains such as Obadiah Stane, The Mandarin, Justin Hammer and Anton Vanko. In fact true to this more lighthearted if not surprisingly at points morally questionable season of Iron Man. The opening scenes were set ten years in the past and showed a much younger Tony Stark at a tech conference. Flagged as usual by his associate Happy Hogan (Owain Yeoman), Stark was very much the life and soul of the party as he ordered numerous drinks at the bar. While at this conference Stark would become acquainted with Maya Hansen (Nicole Beharie) for the very first time. Played as a head strong, focused, driven young woman with her designs on revolutionizing the super soldier program. Maya Hansen in many ways served as a mirror to an early Tony Stark albeit a more focused one.

At this expo along with developing a flirtatious relationship with Maya which would be later consummated that very night. Tony would also meet her research partner Aldrich Killian (Vince Vaughn). While respectful of Maya's abilities and impressed with her drive. Tony appeared to not harbor the same respect towards the smug, abrasive Killian. The morning after the conference Maya would look to first talk to Tony properly about her work at AIM and a project she was working on. However true to form back in the day Tony would brush her off. Bringing us back into modern day we'd see a more positive Tony Stark from the last season. Looking to rebuild his life both as Tony Stark and Iron Man. It appeared that Tony had successfully managed to repair brides with Happy Hogan, Pepper Potts (Jamie Ray Newman) and James Rhodes (Omari Hardwick). Along with this his relationship with SHIELD appeared to have grown stronger as the world seems willing to forgive Iron Man for his previous sins. This includes the return of the Stark Expo which was a true extravaganza and it would see Tony reunite with Maya Hansen and Aldrich Killian for the first time since that fateful night.

While things may have been awkward at first between Maya and Tony. She soon smiled and joked that she knew what they was at the time and she was fine with it. Moving on to the now as opposed to focusing on the past. Maya Hansen reveals that she and Aldrich have finally completed their work and that she would like to show Tony what they have accomplished with Extremis. However at the same time the labs at AIM where being raided by a gang of individuals all in heavily armored gear and masks. After gunning down several innocent people and taking what they can of the formula. The group are quick to make their exit from AIM. With the theft of a bio chemical believed to create super soldiers SHIELD took a vested interest with both Maria Hill (Trieste Kelly Dunn) and Bobbi Morse (Ivana Milicevic) being sent to investigate the goings on at AIM. Unfortunately as they looked to gain entrance into the facility they was met by AIM's chief of security Paul Allen (Barry Sloane). A former SHIELD agent it was teased that there was a previous relationship between Allen and Morse based on the hostility she displayed towards him. Maria Hill keeping things professional asked to see his boss. However Allen with his knowledge of SHIELD procedure was quick to state that his employer is a busy man. However one would rather than all these menial meetings would like to arrange a sit down between himself and Nick Fury. Reporting back to his boss, Paul Allen was commended of his handling of the situation by Andrew Forson (Tony Shalhoub). Played by the fantastic Tony Shalhoub with much gravitas. In many ways Forson was a scene stealer in these early appearances. Branding this attack on their facility a unwanted complication. Forson is concerned in regards to the amount of attention this is bringing on AIM. With that Allen asks for Hansen and Killian to be present at this meeting.

    "I'm invincible" Mallen

Meanwhile following their successful heist earlier on of Extremis. The group of criminals would be revealed as a terrorist cell led by Mallen (Toby Stephens). Portrayed as an incredibly angry and bitter man Mallen and his group plotted to use the Extremis project on themselves. Joining Mallen in his group was Ellen Brandt (Magarita Levieva), Eric Savin (Michael James Shaw), Simon Maddicks (Tadhg Murphy) and Samantha McGee (Alyssa Sutherland). As the group began to plot their use of the Extremis virus on themselves. It became apparent that they had an inside man helping them as Mallen made it clear that they had to wait for the scientist to join them and help them use it. Following this a series of scenes would show the face to face meeting between AIM and SHIELD. In this meeting representing AIM would be Andrew Forson along with Aldrich Killian, Maya Hansen and Paul Allen. Meanwhile with SHIELD was Nick Fury (Djimon Hounsou), Maria Hill, Bobbi Morse and Tony Stark. As the meeting took place Tony Stark asked to take a look at the lab which was surprisingly approved by Andrew Forson. Sending Paul Allen to give Stark his tour this would allow Tony to look round the AIM facility where he would bump into several faces. A couple of whom would feature this season while others looked to be more prominent in the future. This included two scientists George Tarleton (Steven Ogg) and Paul Duval (Seth Gabel) who worked at AIM on their exclusive projects. Another face Stark would see would be that of Edwin Cord (Mel Gibson). While unclear as to the men's previous dealings with one another it was very apparent that there was tension between the two.

Meanwhile following the conclusion of his meeting with SHIELD. It appeared that Andrew Forson was confident to have settled things with SHIELD. However it seemed Nick Fury wasn't completely convinced as he asked for Maria Hill to begin looking into all his staff at AIM. Adding into the seemingly bad luck at AIM was a freak explosion in the labs that night. The fallout of the explosion would see Paul Duval doused in a series of chemicals he was working with while George Tarleton was rendered catatonic following the explosion. In the investigation of this explosion SHIELD found that the lab had been accessed that day by Aldrich Killian. Who was later found dead in his home having shot himself. Leaving a note confessing to his sins Killian confirmed that he had tipped off and helped the terrorist group led by Mallen steal the Extremis virus and showed them how to use it. In his note as well Killian revealed that he had also tampered with the labs to cause the explosions as a means to throw everyone off his trail. Of course now with the death of Killian and the explosion eyes once more fell on AIM with Andrew Forson and Paul Allen looking to do as much damage control as they can. With the two looking to call this the work of rogue scientists it appears that the two men have no issue in selling Paul Duval or George Tarleton down the river to avoid being put under the microscope.

"This wasn't how it was supposed to be. I never wanted this" Aldrich Killian

However soon thanks to advice from Edwin Cord the two realized they had another way to turn things in their favor. As it involved what had become of Paul Duval. They was not the only villains however making plots as Mallen and his team now enhanced with the Extremis virus planned for an attack on the FBI Branch based in Houston. Over the course of these scenes it became apparent that Mallen held a intense grudge towards the government and would do anything in his power to cripple them. It seemed these attacks by Mallen coincided with Forson and Cord's plotting as that night the former Paul Duval now turned into the monstrous Grey Gargoyle attacked SHIELD's public headquarters. Now with the ability to turn things to stone with a mere touch of his hands. Gargoyle was a dangerous threat to anyone or anything who crossed his path. After brutally killing several SHIELD agents with his gifts Gargoyle found himself matched up against Phil Coulson (Gabriel Macht) and Bobbi Morse who together as a unit where able to overwhelm him and defeat the monster by trapping him in a containment unit.

Unfortunately this wouldn't be the only attack that night as Mallen and his team attacked the FBI branch. With the FBI reaching out for help as they found themselves know match against the extremis enhanced terrorist cell. Displaying a full range of enhanced gifts from the virus including strength, speed, durability, healing and stamina. The group led by Mallen easily took down and executed several FBI agents until SHIELD and Iron Man could arrive. During the ensuing battle it became apparent that Tony Stark had history with one of Mallen's soldiers Samantha McGee. With McGee rashly going right after Iron Man looking to take him out. As Mallen commanded Savin and Brandt to get their van ready both he and Maddicks took out several SHIELD agents while Iron Man was able to eventually incapacitate Samantha McGee. Showing no concern for his fallen comrade Mallen ordered his team to fall out with Iron Man chasing after them. But it was here that Mallen was shown not just to be the most formidable in his group but was also shown to be too much for Iron Man to handle as he easily beat down Tony Stark before making his escape.

Having been captured during the attack Samantha McGee found herself in the custody of SHIELD. During her interrogation we found out more about McGee. As she revealed how there was a time that she worked for the military and had in fact acted as a pilot for Tony Stark the day he was kidnapped. Mentioning how she was blamed that day for Stark being taken and soon found herself being given menial jobs. McGee would go on to say that in Mallen she found someone who truly understood her anger. Stating that Mallen will not be stopped, a confident McGee delights in telling them that they are already dead. Following this both Tony Stark and Nick Fury met in a meeting with Fury concerned at the power Mallen possessed. Wanting to know the full capabilities of extremis Fury informed Tony that McGee would be sent to the raft to spend the rest of her days and that Maya Hansen would be brought in as a consultant.

"Everything I did.. It was to prove that this worked. It was all for the greater good" Maya Hansen

With the capture of one of his trusted lieutenants an angered Mallen met with his team. With his plans to plant bombs across Washington, DC revealed. Mallen coldly dismissed rescuing McGee as he stated that she should have been able to help herself. With that Mallen then turned his attentions to SHIELD as he decided it was time to bring them down. Of course soon he'd have the perfect target as Tony Stark looking to draw out Mallen and his team looked to hold a fundraiser for all the victims of Mallen's attack while also having members of SHIELD and the FBI present. At this fundraiser Stark would once again have a tense meeting with Edwin Cord along with Andrew Forson. Cord also had two guests with him both of whom had very tense interactions with Tony as he met the son of Obadiah Stane Ezekiel (Alfie Allen) as well as the daughter of Justin Hammer Justine (Kacey Rohl). Also present at this event was Maya Hansen who quickly dismissed Tony's apology to her about Killian. However there was one person eager to meet Tony and that was socialite Whitney Frost (Lena Headey). It has to be noted there was a spark between the two as Frost congratulated Tony on the event. Before the conversation could go much further however the fundraiser true to form was gate crashed by Mallen and Ellen Brandt. Meanwhile at the same time SHIELD's base of operations was attacked by Simon Maddicks and Eric Savin.

During the attack on the fundraiser Bobbi Morse found herself the recipient of a beating by Brandt in what was a brutal fight. Same time yet again Tony Stark in his Iron Man armor was overwhelmed by Mallen who looked to be growing steadily more powerful each time. In fact it was in this battle that Mallen revealed he was capable of breathing fire and in his rash attack. He managed to slightly burn the face of Maya Hansen before he and Brandt took her along with them in their escape. At the same time however a stark contrast was shown in the behavior of Eric Savin and Simon Maddicks. Because as the two launched their attack on SHIELD. Savin was very conscious of their time frame where as Maddicks appeared to be truly taking a sadistic enjoyment out of attacking these agents. This would lead to him chasing after Phil Coulson all the while Eric Savin would be confronted by James Rhodes. Rhodes quickly stated at first he didn't recognize Savin and now he can't believe the man he has become. With a prior friendship teased between the two men Eric Savin attacked and overwhelmed Rhodes before leaving him unconscious as he opted not to kill James. Knowing he needed to make his leave Savin then fled the building leaving Simon Maddicks who was in pursuit of Phil Coulson.

The sociopathic Maddicks taunted and recklessly went after Coulson throughout the SHIELD facility. Unfortunately for Maddicks his reckless behavior would eventually cost him as he lunged at Coulson with a knife in hand only for Coulson to side step and Maddicks to drive the blade into a fuse box electrocuting him. Despite losing another member of his team Mallen remained confident as he held Maya Hansen captive in his base along with Ellen Brandt and Eric Savin. At least that is how it appeared to be in the public eye because once they got to the base it became apparent that Maya Hansen was in fact working alongside Mallen and his team. With the two now notably clashing with one another it appeared that Maya Hansen began to see the error of her ways as she saw the effects the Extremis Virus was having on Mallen. Now showing powers to generate electricity from his hands Mallen also looked to be becoming Bullet Proof much to the shock of Brandt and Savin as it was revealed that Mallen had in fact been constantly taking Extremis doses. Clearly concerned with the approach that Mallen and his team were taking that night Maya Hansen would flee.

Panicking she would reach out to Tony Stark. However rather than be glad to see her again Tony was quick to confront Maya. Revealing how he knows she had something to do with Mallen and his plot soon Tony's questioning would get results as Maya Hansen revealed everything. Stating that it wasn't supposed to be a terrorist plot. Instead she just wanted the power of extremis to be on display for it to be approved. A conflicted Maya revealed how she didn't know what kind of man Mallen was until it was too late and that is why also Aldrich Killian killed himself after he set the chain reaction to cause those explosions at AIM to distract attention. It was then Tony revealed that their entire conversation had been recorded. With SHIELD agents swooping in and arresting her Maya Hansen pleaded with Tony to stop Mallen before it was too late. In her last act before being arrested she handed him a vial of the Extremis virus.

In custody Maya Hansen revealed everything she knew about Mallen and his group. This includes the location of their base where they kept a high amount of explosives. Tony Stark meanwhile began to work on the extremis formula as during a conversation with Fury he revealed that he needed to be more in order to defeat Mallen. Same time he wouldn't want to have the super powers and instead looked to make it that instead of powers he would exchange that for the ability to interface directly with his own armor. It was during this downtime James Rhodes revealed his past with Eric Savin. Calling Savin once a great man and a great soldier. Rhodes stated that Savin lost his way following the death of his partner. Which is why he feels that if he can reach him there may be a way to turn him. With the knowledge of the base out there SHIELD looked to attack only to find that Mallen and Eric Savin had cleared out with the explosives. Unfortunately for them Ellen Brandt remained. Able to take out several SHIELD agents Brandt would then find herself in a rematch with Mockingbird. Armed with her batons and fully prepared for the enhanced strength of Brandt. This time Bobbi Morse made for a tougher opponent for Brandt in what was a brutal fight before she would eventually kill Ellen by stabbing her in the neck with Ellen's own knife.

With Brandt defeated Shield was able to find out about Mallen's plot to attack Washington DC as well as find a bunker they are using to store the explosives. At the same time Tony finally managed to complete his extremis adjustments before applying them to his armor leading to the appearance of his Extremis armor. As SHIELD, the FBI and various other emergency services operations looked to clear out as much of DC as they could War Machine arrived at the bunker to face off with Eric Savin. Now referring to himself as Cold Blood it appeared that Savin was very much too far gone to be rescued as he and War Machine argued over war. Revealing how they was going to destroy the white house before the eyes of the world. Savin then attacked War Machine with the two having a lengthy battle before finally James Rhodes would with much regret be forced to kill Eric Savin by trapping him in the bunker and triggering an explosion using the bombs he was working on.

Aware that his plans were falling apart in front of him an angered Mallen attacked Washington in a rampage. Proving to be too powerful for anyone who crossed his path Mallen ruthlessly killed several officers as he made his way to the white house. Once there Mallen found himself met by Tony Stark who was fully equipped with his Extremis Armor. With the rest of the city virtually evacuated it was only Tony and Mallen present for this battle. Now enhanced with the Extremis virus himself Tony found himself to be a match for the highly powered Mallen who at first seemed to surprised at Tony's new strength. However he wasn't the only one as Tony found that his repulsors even at 80 percent had no effect on Mallen. Slowly however Tony would begin to beat down Mallen and win this battle. Despite seeing he was beaten Mallen attempted to strangle Iron Man only to have a hole blasted into his chest by Tony's unibeam. A weakened Mallen still kept his grasp on Stark's neck until Tony used his repulsors at full power to decapitate the terrorist.

Days later Tony Stark met for a meeting with Nick Fury. It was here that Fury praised Stark for the man he had become and formally welcomed him into SHIELD. Promising Tony that there would not be any secrets between them Fury also promised to introduce Stark to several of SHIELD's other higher ups before issuing him a warning. As he warned Stark that their intel has hinted of a criminal cabal with plans to target Tony Stark. With this final scene teasing season 5 it was no surprise that in the sole post credit scene we got our first look at this Cabal or conglomerate. Headed by Edwin Cord the group was comprised of Andrew Forson, Ezekiel Stane, Justine Hammer, Whitney Frost and a man known as Sinclair Abbott (Alberto Ammann). During the meeting the group talked confidently about bringing the downfall of Tony Stark.

Captain America Season 1: A man out of time!

"My Job has always been to make tomorrow better for this world. Always has been and always will be. I once asked someone what purpose I served out of combat. Looking back that was a stupid question. There will always be something to fight for." Steve Rogers/Captain America

After a spate of successful outings it appeared that Fox's Marvel Universe was beginning to hit a little bit of a rough patch following a slightly disjointed outing in the fourth season of Iron Man. Fortunately for them they had a chance to redeem themselves not long after as they introduced a new superhero show to the growing universe. This time the series would focus on Steve Rogers/Captain America (Liam Hemsworth). While a slightly controversial pick for titular star Liam Hemsworth did a commendable job in the role of Captain America. In a stark contrast from many of the shows which focused on a present day timeline this series instead took us back to 1942 in the years of World War II. Starting out in the first episode we very much saw the origin story of Steve Rogers. Shown to be physically weak and frail but also equally determined and mentally strong. The story of young Steve Rogers was he had a great heart but was let down by his small stature. Because of his size Rogers often found him the target of many bullies that is until he found a protector in James Barnes/Bucky (Garrett Hedlund). The two became quick friends and formed a solid bond with Rogers attempting to stick with his friend at all costs. This includes trying to enlist in the army with his friend.

However because of his size Steve would find himself frequently dismissed and rejected by the army. Despite this he remained persistent even if he couldn't even pass the physical exam. However his heart was without question and this made an impression on the likes of Peggy Carter (Amy Acker) and Chester Phillips (Sam Elliott) who despite seeing his failings were impressed with his resilience and eventually allowed him to join. However it soon was clear that there was another reason they allowed Steve to join as both Phillips and Carter felt that Rogers' traits made him a perfect candidate for a secret project headed by Abraham Erksine (Richard Sammell). Erksine who developed what was being referred to as Operation: Rebirth was impressed with Rogers' attitude as well. It was then finally explained that Rebirth was a project to develop a super soldier and that they had been looking for a suitable first candidate with Phillips, Carter and Erksine all believing Steve had what it would take. With it being his formula Erksine kept his process close to his chest as he along with Howard Stark (Tom Selleck) looked to prep Steve for a series of injects before he would be placed in a containment unit and bated with Vita-Rays.

The project worked perfectly much to the delight of everyone. As while painful at first Steve was able to withstand the process with his physical being boosted to the maximum potential. This included strength, flexibility and reflexes all being sharpened to the maximum. Unfortunately just moments after his success things would take a horrific turn as a Nazi Spy Heinz Kruger (Ross Marquand) would shoot Abraham Erksine killing him thus also having the formula die with Erksine. In his attempted escape Kruger would find himself attacked by Steve Rogers who easily over matched Kruger but as he threw Kruger across the room, a panicked Kruger would opt to die than talk as he reached for a nearby machine and pulled the wires out electrocuting himself instantly. Despite their disappointment in the loss of the super soldier program. The government was fully determined to use Rogers to the fullest of his potential as they looked to make him a symbol for hope and freedom. This included him being their weapon and answer to combat the nazis under the costumed guise of Captain America. With extensive training Steve was soon deemed ready to enter the field and it was also here in his training he became reacquainted with Bucky Barnes.

Impressed and stunned at what his friend had become Barnes soon became Steve's main training partner with the two flourishing as a result of this union. It was also during this time a potential relationship between Steve and Agent Peggy Carter herself began to form as the two shared a noted attraction. Soon after Steve was presented with the final part of his captain america costume as Howard Stark presented him with a shield made of an metal property known as vibranium. Recognizing his friend under the mask of Captain America, Bucky Barnes demanded to be involved in whatever plans he had for the future and Steve relented agreeing to have his friend by his side for missions. While at first these missions would remain small and covert they would soon increase in risk and importance as they became aligned with a group known as The Howling Commandos. Led by Timothy Dugan/Dum Dum Dugan (Ray Stevenson) the group would be comprised of Gabriel Jones (Lawrence Gillard Jr), Dino Manelli (Rus Blackwell), Robert Ralston/Rebel Ralston (Jeff Kober) and Jonathan Juniper/Junior Juniper (Alexander Calvert). The group were quick to inform Captain America and Bucky Barnes that they needed their help in finding a missing member of their team Izzy Cohen (Ryan Hurst). Revealing that Cohen vanished during a sweep of Berlin and that leads indicate there is a base of Nazi operations where they are experimenting on men captured behind enemy lines.

"Wherever there was tyranny, Injustice and ruthlessness the Red Skull was always there leading the attack." Johann Shmidt/Red Skull

It was around this time we also got our first look at some of the main villains in the series. All affiliated in the Nazi Regime a group of individuals at a so called high table met for a meeting. The group was headed by Baron Heinrich Zemo (Stephen Dillane) who was always accompanied by his research assistant Arnim Zola (Sylvester Groth). Also seated at this table was Wolfgang Von Strucker (Henry Czerny) and Johann Shmidt/Red Skull (Jason Isaacs). It is a credit to the writing of these shows we was left with not one but several compelling villains from scenes such as this. Because while the group very much was on the same side in these meetings it was also apparent that given the chance every man at this table would tear down the others thanks to their own agendas. Despite this the group all had their own routines and roles with Zemo and Zola focusing very much on the science of war and research. This included his latest project adhesive X. Which was described as a strong substance that no process known could remove.

Using several captives for means to prove his experiments it was here that it was revealed that Zemo did in fact have Izzy Cohen captive. Meanwhile in Wolfgang Von Strucker you had a wealthy man who looked to very much be focused on the more mystical arts despite being frequently dismissed by Baron Zemo. Rounding out the group was of course the Red Skull who was the commander of the armies and always closely followed by his select group known as the Exiles. The Exiles was comprised of Baldini (Daniel Sunjata), General Ching (NG Chin Han), Gruning (Keith Jardine), Cadavus (Peter Jackson), Jurgen Hauptmann (Chad Donella) and Krushki (Nick Bateman). Once the meeting concluded and Zemo and Zola went back to their work dissension definitely was on display as Red Skull and Von Strucker looked to conspire between themselves about the future. Soon however the group would find themselves having a common enemy as a team lead by Captain America comprised of The Howling Commandos, Bucky and Peggy Carter.

After questioning several soldiers Captain America and his team were able to find the location where the soldiers were being held. It was here we got our first face offs and battles between several key marvel characters as not only did the Howling Commandos and Peggy Carter engage in a shoot out with the Exiles. During this shoot out we'd see three members of the Exiles die as Peggy Carter was able to shoot down Krushki while Ralston and Dugan killed Ching and Baldini. Meanwhile inside the base Captain America and Bucky set about freeing the prisoners. It was during this battle that the Red Skull found himself an opponent who for the first time in his career he was unable to defeat as Captain America and his team easily run off his army and bested Red Skull in combat. Armed with a gun and wearing a hooded mask Baron Zemo opened fire on Captain America and Bucky Barnes. This diversion allowed the Red Skull to escape when Captain America tossed his shield at Zemo. Ducking the shot Zemo looked to fire on Captain again when it was revealed that the Shield had struck a nearby container of Adhesive X which coated Zemo and his hood.

"A true leader makes his followers do what he wants because it's good for them." Helmut Zemo

With the mission complete and numerous soldiers including Izzy Cohen saved Captain America and his team began to return home. However what they wasn't aware of was the consequences of this victory. As their first encounter had adverse reactions on both the Red Skull and Baron Zemo. Traumatized following his first defeat Johann Shmidt/Red Skull was hit hard with grief and shock having been defeated. At first the Red Skull would consider suicide as he was distraught in failing the nazi regime. But in his depression the Red Skull found conviction as he later confided in Von Strucker that his feelings and ideals were different to that of the nazis and Baron Zemo. Speaking of Baron Zemo having survived his encounter with Captain America, Zemo found his life altered forever. Unable to remove his hood Zemo was driven mad by his inability to eat or remove his hood. Thus turning the once brilliant yet evil scientist into a raving mad man much to the concern of Zola.

With revenge firmly on his mind Zemo went from a scientist to someone training heavily for round two. This included using weaponry and hand to hand combat. Zemo's ramblings however pushed away possibly his last remaining ally Arnim Zola who began revealing his concerns more and more to Strucker and Red Skull who eventually recruited him to their side for a new plot. As per the plan Baron Zemo was meant to steal an airplane in London to launch an attack on the US. Of course in his plot to remove his rival the Red Skull and Wolfgang Von Strucker managed to convince Arnim Zola to be captured by US troops and provide intelligence against Zemo's plot in exchange for amnesty. With a leak getting out to US troops about a transport for Arnim Zola leading to the Howling Commandos swooping in and capturing him. Zola in a conversation with Chester Phillips and Peggy Carter made a deal as per the plans. In return for amnesty Arnim Zola gave them all the details of Baron Zemo's plan before he warned them of just what kind of man the Baron had in fact become.

After receiving all the details of the plan Phillips agreed to keep the operation small with both Captain America and Bucky Barnes being the ones to head to London and stop Zemo. Meanwhile as news of Arnim Zola's betrayal reached back to the nazis. The remaining members of the Exiles being Gruning, Cadavus and Jurgen Hauptmann turned to their boss the Red Skull as they looked to warn Baron Zemo about the double cross. Instead however to the shock of Wolfgang Von Strucker, The Red Skull would declare that he is no longer a nazi before executing his three loyal lieutenants each with a gun shot to the head. Unfortunately with a fleeting army the Red Skull would soon find that Zemo wasn't the only one Zola betrayed as he gave up the Red Skull and his location. Besieged by the military and the Howling Commandos The Red Skull would soon unknowingly be deserted by the cowardly Wolfgang Von Strucker who saw the writing on the wall for this battle their new operation would not win.

During this shootout with the Howling Commandos The Red Skull showed just how formidable a foe he truly could be as he was able to kill both Rebel Ralston and Junior Juniper much to the horror of the rest of the Howling Commandos. But before any of the commandos could gain some revenge a freak explosion caused by the fire fight would trigger a landslide which would pin down the base and the Red Skull. Pulling back the Howling Commandos mourned their losses all the while reporting back that the Red Skull was no more. Meanwhile at the very same time Baron Zemo launched his plot to steal the experimental plane in London in an effort to fight back against his opposition. But as he stole the plane and was about to fly it into the skies Zemo would find that the men he had brought with him had been beaten and replaced by Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers.

Now airborne the vengeful Zemo attacked his foes and while a skilled combatant now himself would find that he was in fact no match for Captain America. As the plane flew through the skies piloted by Barnes, Zemo being the crafty individual he was revealed a back up as he removed his jacket and revealed an explosive vest around his waist. Drawing his Shield Captain America charged to Zemo looking to stop him activate it but tragically it was too late the explosion went off with the Shield protecting captain from much of the blast by sending him flying out of the plane and crashing into the Artic Ocean below before the plane crashed killing Baron Zemo and tragically Bucky Barnes with no bodies being found in the wreckage. At the end of this tale we cut to the present day where Nick Fury (Djimon Hounsou) was seated behind his desk and across from his was Steve Rogers. Having heard the story of how Rogers fell into that ocean Nick Fury countered by explaining that Rogers had been frozen for decades with SHIELD being tasked to find his body and that is was because of the super soldier serum Captain America survived in a state of suspended animation. It would be then that Nick Fury would officially welcome Captain America to Shield before name dropping the Avengers as the series came to an end.

As per the custom of all Marvel shows there would be a post credit scene to highlight a potential plot point for the next season. This interesting plot point would detail an arrival many fans have been clamoring for as with news coming out of the Captain's reemergence. The next scene opened up inside an old people's home where an aged Wolfgang Von Strucker was met by his grandson Werner (Joe Keery). After a brief conversation about future plans the two would end their conversation with the words Hail Hydra!
