    MAKING MOVIES

Putting my director's hat back on again?
As usual, it is a thread with my film idea, or ideas that I would like to have become films, thanks for the support over the few years since I have made these projects. The reason I don't continue a previous thread is because normally they died out or I don't want to bump an old thread. Anyway I'd encourage feedback and support, and hope you guys like the ideas.

    Re: MM

Does that mean we'll have to wait till 2025 for super hero movies You should really just rebump the old threads and continue those instead of just restarting every couple of months, I was into one of the first ones but have lost a great deal of interest with the frequent restarts. Stick to it this time or come up with a new idea, maybe a single production company instead if that's easier for you to do.

Usually depends, but writing a screenplay for an entire film would be time consuming. I attach summaries of plots and a synopsis usually.

    Aladdin

Jafar, the Sultan’s most trusted advisor meets up with a criminal named Gazeem, in return, he orders the criminal to enter the cave of wonders to retrieve a mystical lamp. Gazeem hesitant to enter the cave chickens out but then ends up being pushed in by Iago, Jafar’s sidekick. With the cave closing in on the criminal due to him being not worthy of retrieving the lamp, Jafar is dissatisfied. Jafar then realizes that Gazeem is not worthy and sets out for a new sacrifice.

Narration by a street merchant of Aragbah, who narrates about the story of a boy who was the chosen one to become the master of a conquering almighty Genie, who could grant 3 wishes to the master. Aladdin, son of two thieves and slum folk Cassim and his wife Taheera, is born in the slums of Aragbah. Cassim ends up leaving to give his wife and a young Aladdin a better life and is presumed dead. Two years later, Aladdin’s mother is caught stealing an apple from the marketplace and is captured by two guards along with Jafar. Jafar orders the two guards to take Taheera and they presumably rape and kill her. Aladdin, a two-year-old at this point hesitantly waits for his mother’s return from the marketplace only for her not to come back at all. A small monkey (Abu) is separated from his family and coincidentally crosses paths with young Aladdin who realizes that the two of them have been split up from their families and decides to take in Abu as his pet, and family member. The two grow up together ultimately calling themselves brothers, even though they’re both of a different species. Fourteen years have passed, and the two brothers Aladdin and Abu are up to all sorts of mischief and thievery in the slums as well as in the major capital city of Aragbah. The duo is on the run from a group of guards who are chasing the duo on top of the rooftops as well as between buildings and homes in the major city. The guards are after the two because they’ve stolen a bundle of Apples along with jewelry from a stand that Abu had ransacked earlier. Although the two are able to outsmart the group of guards, they run into the second group of guards and are eventually captured. Meanwhile the Sultan and Sultana’s daughter, sixteen-year-old Princess Jasmine, set to be married off to a potential suitor. Due to the dismay of her serious mother and serious-albeit sometimes stupidly outwitted father the Sultan’s orders. Jasmine argues with her parents that she doesn’t want to marry someone whom she doesn’t love and shuts the door of her room, falling on her bed with her pet tiger Rajah cuddling her. Jafar sees the duo of Aladdin and Abu with all the goods that they’ve stolen. Jafar says that the young boy’s crimes will sentence him to death. Aladdin is beaten up and then thrown into a cell. Meanwhile, Jasmine who disguises herself with a hood and a different pair of clothes decide to leave the palace and go out and venture into the city. Rajah stops her although she tells him that she needs to do things on her own and kisses Rajah on the forehead before climbing over the palace wall and entering the city. Meanwhile, Abu steals the keys from a guard who had fallen asleep and attempts to rescue Aladdin from the cell. Abu is successful and frees his brother and the two run through the alleyways and end up diving into a haystack to keep out of sight. Meanwhile, Jafar visits the Palace and hypnotizes the Sultan to give him possession of his ring, which he does. Jafar goes to the dungeon of the palace with his bumbling sidekick Iago. Jafar uses the power of the ring to a sandglass and the sandglass reveals to him the worthy person who is capable of entering the cave of wonders and retrieve the lamp. The sandglass reveals Aladdin as the one to enter the cave. Iago points out that Jafar has already had a run-in with the boy and the two begin plotting a scheme to take over Agrabah and rule the land.

Aladdin and Abu try to sneak back to their usual hideout in the slums until they see a woman being arrested for stealing an apple. Aladdin has immediate flashbacks to the last time he saw his mother and decides to intervene. Aladdin tries to outsmart the guard by saying that the woman is his sister, albeit he doesn’t know that it is Princess Jasmine in disguise. Aladdin tells Jasmine to play along with it and she does playing dumb. They almost get away until one of the guards witnesses that Abu has stolen majority of the apples that were in the stall. The chase begins again as the group of guards begins the chase of the trio. Although they get cornered on a few occasions, they find a way out and end up back to the hideout where Aladdin lives to his hideout. Aladdin gives Jasmine her Apple back and they begin talking. Aladdin says what a woman like her would be doing caught stealing an apple. Jasmine replies that she feels trapped and that she wanted to do something for herself for once. Ironically, they stumble upon the same idea and begin looking at each other. Aladdin and Jasmine then look at each other and are about to kiss until the guards invade the hideout. Aladdin along with Abu are about to jump, Jasmine is hesitant to jump until she finally decides to trust Aladdin and the trio launch off the building onto a nearby rooftop before sliding down and running away.

Jafar stops them on a horse along with more guards. Jafar says he’s been looking for the boy and Aladdin is beaten up, however, this time he is gagged and has a black bag thrown over his head before being carried into a carriage. Jasmine takes off the hood and confronts Jafar. Jafar amazed by the presence of the Princess outside of the palace begins questioning what she’s doing associating herself with a common street rat. Jafar has Aladdin sentenced to death by beheading. An entire crowd gathers, including Jasmine’s parents. Jasmine pleads with her parents to stop Jafar from carrying out the beheading of the ‘street rat’. The parents much to Jasmine’s dismay cannot do anything about it, due to the fact that the boy had stolen goods from the market. As Aladdin is about to have his head cut off, Jasmine intervenes and saves Aladdin. Jasmine’s parents order that Aladdin is sent to prison for eternity instead of death, much to the wish of Jafar who imprisons the young boy in an abandoned cell far away from the city and into the desert. Iago suggests why Jafar let the boy go, he replies that the Sands gave him the image of the boy, the one who will be able to do his dirty work and bidding in order to dethrone the Sultan from his throne. Jasmine returns to the Palace along with her parents who are very disappointed in her for leaving the palace walls. She slams the door again and doesn’t come back downstairs. Jasmine’s mother orders her to be present for her meeting with suitable suitors and nearby Princes, although to her dismay she repulsively shouts that she loves the street beggar and wishes that he wasn’t sent to prison. Jasmine’s mother stomps off telling her that she will marry and it will not be the street beggar. She says that her courting will occur first thing tomorrow and that’s final. Aladdin beaten and thrown into the abandoned prison looks in disarray as he thinks how stupid he was in the presence of the Princess, he then begins having flashbacks to his mother. Abu shows up with another pair of keys and begins teasing his brother about his experience with Jasmine. Aladdin and Abu try to find a way out before they meet an old and gangly looking man in the prison. The old timer says that he knows a way out, but only if the boy can help him with one task for a reward. Aladdin insists. Aladdin is unaware that it is Jafar, however, Abu is very suspicious. They meet up with another man (Iago in disguise who has a camel) Through a dust storm and a ferocious breeze; they make it to the cave of wonders where it lights up. Aladdin takes on the step into the cave and is successful. Aladdin and Abu search for the lamp amongst a pile of jewelry. They then see a magic carpet that floats up in the air and Aladdin is amazed by the magic. Abu, however, stumbles upon a glowing red gem, which is forbidden to touch. The cave begins to collapse, Aladdin grabs Abu and together with the two escape on the magic carpet. When they get to the entrance of the cave, the gangly old man is waiting, Aladdin is hanging on by one arm, the old man demands the lamp, however, Aladdin says he’ll give him that lamp if he lifts him up. Aladdin submits and gives the lamp, however, the old man who begins to celebrate decides that the boy will be killed, he grabs out a dagger, before Abu bites him on the hand as the cave collapses. The Old Man takes off his disguise, revealing he to be Jafar. Iago takes off his disguise as well. Jafar begins to grab into his pouch before realizing that the lamp isn’t there. Meanwhile underground beneath an avalanche of sand, Aladdin, the magic carpet, and Abu have been buried in. Aladdin looks at the lamp and suggests that it is a piece of junk. However, the lamp begins to vibrate and out from the ashes comes the Genie. A man who’s soul has been trapped in the confines of the lamp and is able to grant his master three wishes, on a strict guideline that the master doesn’t wish for more wishes and that also he cannot make anyone fall in love. Aladdin tricks the Genie into freeing them from the cave, without using one of his three wishes.

After the failed attempt at retrieving the lamp, Jafar and Iago return to the Palace for Princess Jasmine’s courting. Iago suggests that Jafar could marry Jasmine and marry into the family as a way of becoming the Sultan. While he blows the idea off at first, Jafar comes to realize that the idea may actually work. The Sultan walks into Jasmine’s room and has the castle staff dress Jasmine up in a beautiful gown ready to meet Prince Achmed, the suitor who has come to visit for a potential arranged marriage. Jasmine’s mother is arranging decorations within the palace when Jafar approaches her. Jafar says that he wants to marry Jasmine. The Sultana delivers an earth-shattering slap to Jafar’s face and says that if she sees him within a foot of her daughter he will order the guards to escort him out of the palace. Jafar with an evil smile says he controls all the guards and that he’ll throw the Sultana back to the depths of blasphemy in which she came from. After a belly dance troupe perform, the two families of the couple come together and begin to arrange the marriage. Jafar who is in attendance begins looking rather amused, giving Jasmine different looks. Jasmine declines the offer and says that she will not marry Achmed. Achmed tries to talk one on one with Jasmine which leads to Achmed attempting to ‘have his way’ with Jasmine before Jasmine delivers a right hand to the stomach of Achmed who lays down on the floor. Jasmine storms off up to her room. Achmed follows her, however, is stopped by Rajah who bites the Achmed, officially ending the courting. Jasmine explains to both her parents that she doesn’t love Achmed and explains that she wishes she could see the ‘street rat’ one more time. Jafar overhears this, much to his amusement. After escaping the avalanche of sand, Aladdin, Genie, and Abu along with the magic carpet wash up near a lake. Aladdin suggests to Genie that he didn’t use his first wish; it was the Genie who got them out of the avalanche. Aladdin wishes for Genie to make him fall in love with the Princess however, Genie stops Aladdin’s wish demonstrating that it’d break the guidelines. Aladdin then asks Genie to transform him into a Prince. Genie commands the wish. Aladdin now known as Prince Ali Ababwa with Abu transformed into an elephant march to the Palace to meet with Princess Jasmine. The Sultan becomes paranoid and begins to pray for his daughter. Jafar enters and tells the Sultan that the law suggests that if the Princess cannot find a suitable husband by her next birthday that the Sultan’s most trusted advisor will take the place and wed the Princess. Jafar hypnotizes the Sultan, who agrees. However, he is eventually snapped out of the hypnosis by the music and large crowd gathering before the palace gate. Aladdin under his alias Prince Ali marches into the palace with the intent of marrying Princess Jasmine. The Sultan and Sultana are both impressed with the look and the charisma of the Prince, even though they do not know that he is a street merchant. Jasmine to her chagrin sees her parents arranging with Ali and Jafar and she shames then all, saying that she’s not a prize to be won. Jafar angrily makes his way down to the dungeon where he meets with Iago. Iago says that Prince Ali is, in fact, the street beggar that they arrested. Knowing his identity to be true, Jafar begins planning a scheme to expose Prince Ali as a fraud.

Jasmine rejects his advances however and tells him to go away. Rajah scares Aladdin who falls onto his magic carpet. Amazed by the carpet, Aladdin tells Jasmine that they can go see the stars and every nearby view of the city. He says do you trust me, which gets Jasmine a little emotional over the fact that she may know who this person is. The two after riding on the magic carpet settle down on a view from up on top of Aladdin’s hideout. Jasmine tricks Aladdin into talking about his pet monkey Abu. Aladdin hesitantly rejects that he doesn’t know who Abu is, after accidentally slipping out the truth. Jasmine scolds Aladdin for lying to him the entire time, even though she doesn’t know his name, she knows he is the boy who saved her from the marketplace. Aladdin lies again by saying he dresses up as a street rat to get away from the pressures of royal life. Aladdin talks about how he never really knew his parents, and makes up a story where he says that he is the only royal representative of his “kingdom”, he says he never really knew his mother or father. Aladdin tells Jasmine that she’s lucky to have two parents who still support her. Jasmine declines and replies in a sorrow tone that it doesn’t make a difference if you have parents when they pretty much control the majority of your life. The two cuddle and end up flying back to the palace. Aladdin takes Jasmine back to the Palace where they eventually kiss. Aladdin ecstatic by the fact that he kissed the Princess rejoices as he dives back first onto the magic carpet, before being caught by the guards. Aladdin tries to make it past the palace guards in a stealthy manner before reaching the dungeon where Jafar has Rajah chained up, Princess Jasmine chained to the floor wearing a red revealing dress, as his servant and has the Sultan and Sultana chained up and hanging upside down. Jafar with Jasmine enslaved begins the wedding in his attempt finally get the throne of Sultan. Jasmine then sees that Aladdin has made it into the Palace. Jasmine is chained as a servant and then gives the illusion that she loves Jafar, eventually kissing him. However, Jafar glances at the magic lamp and sees Aladdin in the reflection before seizing the guards on him. Aladdin fights off the guards with the help of Abu and the magic carpet until Iago captures them. Jafar finally reveals that Prince Ali of Ababwa is nothing more than the common street rat Aladdin and has Aladdin transformed from a Prince back into a street rat. Jasmine finally learns of Aladdin’s name. Aladdin and Jafar then engage in a fight. Engaging in a brawl with Jafar, Aladdin says that he (Jafar) does not deserve to be Sultan. Jafar says that if it weren’t for the magic lamp that Aladdin wouldn’t be here. Jafar has Jasmine imprisoned in a sandglass. However, Jafar then uses Genie’s wishes against his former master. Jafar transforms himself into a Python and begins to strangle Aladdin with his strength. Moments before devouring the street beggar, Jafar tells Aladdin that he is the one who murdered his parents. Aladdin realizing this to be true breaks out with all his might and grabs a nearby sword and cuts Jafar’s snakeskin. Jafar seeing the sight of his own blood (in his python form) then wishes Genie to transform him into a Genie, with all of Genie’s powers included within. Jafar who now possesses all the power begins to transform the palace into an eerie and dark atmosphere and then takes Aladdin and chains him up, however, this time he reveals a floor of lava and plans to drown Aladdin alive ultimately killing him in the process.
