    FWA Insider #8

The FWA's PPV Mile High did very well this year. Millions tuned in and it was about on par with last year's buy rate. Management hopes that the strong ratings and the overall positive reaction to the PPV will trickle down to the Fight Night and Sunday Night Smash episodes. Obviously the big talk coming out of Mile High was Gabrielle retaining the FWA world championship inside the Mile High massacre match. Considering the thick layer of competition she had to go against vegas odds placed her 1-15 shot of keeping the belt, but the caramel goddess prevailed. There already was little to no question that Gabrielle Montgomery was going to be inducted into the FWA Hall of Fame but after her milestone performance in Mile High you'd probably lose credibility to suggest otherwise. Of course Gabrielle did not have long to bask in the glory of her win as she is slated to go against the formidable Jack of Diamonds. JOD made that perfectly clear after her match, but in a sign of respect let her rest. The internet is already abuzz with anticipation for this eventual showdown.

During the Mile High Massacre match Ashley O' Ryan and Stu St. Clair screwed each other out of potential chances to claim victory. O' Ryan and St. Clair have long been on and off partners and rivals. With Ashley retiring soon he has promised that his last match will be against Stu. This match in some ways may be one of the most anticipated matches in recent FWA history. Despite Ashley having never gotten a 1 on 1 victory over his long term rival, their matches against each other have always been of an elite status and have created some of the more memorable moments in FWA history. Don't expect to see either men in the ring too much leading up to the match as they are being rested as much as humanly possible in order they may both put on an epic show.

Drew Stevenson made headlines though mostly within the company itself. Management and road agents have been impressed with Stevenson and his tactical and decisive victory against Jethro Warren is getting people both within and outside the company to proclaim that he may be one of the greatest North American champions of all time. Jethro of course split ways with the company and wrestled Mile High as his last match for the foreseeable future with the federation. With that the NA division is wide open and there are plans right now to put Stevenson in a program that will help grow the division even more. Also KAIZEN/Thane is set up to have another match. Thane has cashed in his rematch clause and the two will face at least one more time. KAIZEN and Marcus Thane are both impressive and with such a strong X division the hope right now is that the division will only continue to grow. "When the X division grows and improves it just means we end up with a stronger Sunday Night Smash and eventually stronger players in the tag and North American division" said road agent Moira Crawford. This sentiment is doubled by fans of Alana Allure who are looking forward to seeing her venture into the X title realm.

Saddle Sally defeated Beatrixx Black to become the first ever 3 time FWA Womens champion. Saddle Sally was overcome with joy during the PPV and cried into the belt shortly after winning it in front of everyone watching. The match did come at a high price however; Sally due to being hit by a 2x4 right in the skull had to get three stitches above her left eyebrow. Beatrixx Black also suffered some extreme pain and had to take two house shows off in order to let herself properly heal. At the moment there are no plans to have Beatrixx and Sally go at it again for the title. The idea backstage is that the two play off each other well and continuing could lead to a loop that will stale the title picture. Beatrixx will still be heavily pushed according to the gossip columns and nobody has disputed these claims. Saddle Sally will be the host of sportscenter's top 10 on Wednesday in order to celebrate her victory.

"Rockstar" Randy Ramon arguably had the biggest night next to Gabrielle. After defeating Michael Garcia in a close match Ramon could have rested on his laurels but not to be outdone he teamed with veteran Ayla El as part of the tag team carousel match and somehow managed to defeat the Kennedy/Carter administration a powerhouse tag team that nobody was expecting to lose. Ayla El played the match smart if not ruthless and let Ramon absorb most of the damage before stepping in and finishing the match, and the strategy worked. Now Ramon and Ayla El will have to fend off fierce and randomly selected opponents. Regardless win or lose Randy Ramon is now seen as a legit competitor who can take on some of the best in the business. Ayla El also increased her stock, she's been seen as kind of wishy-washy at times and not someone the fed could rely on to preform or win big matches but now she may have just bought herself some more capital.

Ryan Rondo can be seen on FWA.com after the Mile High massacre match, he looks visibly beaten and exhausted as he talked with reporters on the physicality of the match. Jason Gryphon did not wish to speak with cameras but seemed to be really upset and angry about losing the match. Rondo and Gryphon were given high marks for their performances in the match and fans of them should not be discouraged as it seems they are poised to be put in some high profile matches over the next few weeks. And finally PAJ was seen around FWA headquarters and was talking with management. Most suspect he is looking to be given another chance in the FWA but it's unclear if G-Rich will go for it. Everyone is being asked to stay quiet about anything they hear until official notices are sent out. During his time away from the FWA Phillip A. Jackson managed to guest star on an episode of the new ABC show "How to get away with murder" starring Viola Davis. In it Jackson plays a legal client who claims that he did not murder a waiter who got his order wrong.
