So here's a name from the past. I just signed Jean-Alain Boumsong on a free transfer. He played one game and got a rating of like 8 and then got injured in training for 3-4 months.

However i have played 4 league games and won 3 of them. Managed to lose to Brescia at home 2-1 after taking the lead. I shall continue my quest for greatness tomorrow.

Lmfaooo, I'd be pretty pissed, could've been a worse injury though. Oh yeah, you should check out your staff, way too many physios.

AC Milan beat me 4-2, game was closer than it seems, Katidis got a red after they were up 2-0. They scored one more in the half to go up 3-0. And we outscored them in the second half 2-1.

    Re: Football Manager General Discussion

This year is going fairly well, but it can also fall apart very fast.

I sit a point behind Bayern in the Bundesliga, with Schalke 2 points behind me, though Bayern and I have a game in hand over Schalke.

I'm in the Semi Final of the DFB Pokal where I will face Frankfurt(an easy matchup), with Stuttgart or Köln.

I'm in the Semi Final of the UEFA Champions League where I will face Stuttgart, if I beat them, the winner of Bayern/United.

I've decided to focus on the League and the Cup.

The injury to Boumsong is pretty common with older players. Lots of old players out there who have great mental attributes, crap physical attributes, and tend to get in injured constantly.

Yup, they have hidden stats too, one of which is injury proneness. Has other things like loyalty, ambition etc.

He is only 33 though so not that old to be honest.

Haven't got round to playing at all today but tomorrow is the day!

33 is old enough to get those stupid injuries.

Also - beat Stuttgart 7-2 on aggregate in the UCL, on to the Final against.... Bayern

Will that be your first Champion's League if you win? Looks like all three of the competitions are winnable at this point.

As for me, surviving Serie A at the moment. We'll make a run at the higher end of the table next season.

First Champion's League for the save, yes, it's my second year in the competition. Never qualified with Iruna. Went out in the QF last year.

Got dominated for possession, what were the chances like for both teams? Was it a lucky win for you?

    Re: Football Manager General Discussion

Not at all, it was more of a reverse domination of sorts, most of my chances were prime, and we were truly unlucky not to score more. The Bayern team is slow, so I played them on a strict counter attack, they had plenty of possession but didn't actually do much with it. One goal for them was actually an unlucky own goal by my keeper, all in all it was a very tense and pleasing game to watch. Both teams did what they set out to do on the pitch, and with four big injuries(Both of our best RB, my best LW, their best CM) it went about as I expected.

What always helps me later in the season is signing disgruntled players on end of season loans, able to add quality depth, not have to worry about playing time, and at very little cost, signed a ST, a Winger and a CD/CM this January that made all the difference in the long run.

Proud of this game, mainly because I had pretty much given up on it. We lost 2-0 away, and they started off scoring 1-0 in the first half so by the second half I had little to no hope but we scored 3 goals within 12 minutes and by then I would've been extremely disappointed if we couldn't get in that last goal, finally 15 minutes later Lassoga scored it. I think that's the best comeback I've had. Lassoga, Scapuzzi, for such cheap buys are fucking amazing. Makes me not want to invest into Lukaku and Batshuayi.

We did it! Beat Napoli in the finals of the TIM cup. We've been beaten by them the other times we faced them in the season (3-1 and 6-1), but I felt we could win this game... until my two strikers Pierre-Michel Lassoga & Luca Scapuzzi, two of the best players in the league stat wise this year. One of my back up CM also got injured and my star LB was playing with an injection. Also, we got a red halfway through the second half so I thought we were pretty screwed but back up striker saved the day. I'm extremely happy. Now there's two more games left in the season and one can only hope I can lock in the EURO League spot (been getting raped since my strikers got injured).

EDIT: Just found out winning the TIM Cup gets me an automatic qualifyer to the EURO League, thank the lord. I'd still like to finish as high as possible though.

Awesome, Finally going into International Management most likely, after the USs poor showing in the Gold Cup, I applied for the position, and intend to leave Hertha BSC should the US offer me.

Not interested in managing both simultaneously?

Not at all, I have enough stuff going on with managing one. I've attempted it before, and perhaps if it was a smaller nation, I could do it, but I'm better at management when I focus properly.

After finishing 5th, I lost motivation with Novara. I think I'm gonna try a new game and Spurs is looking like the most likely team I'll take.

You did really well in that amount of time!
