I like the booking of the Birmingham house show with Windham having the Iron Claw on Luger as the time expired. Puts Luger in quite the big jeopardy because if Windham had more time, he could definitely beat the champion. Although that could be a bad thing to have as it looks like your heel can beat your face clean if he had the right circumstances.

True, but i am not a big fan of Heels not being able to win a big match or a championship without cheating or someone interfering on their behalf

Even Ric Flair at times would pin big names guys when he was the biggest Heel in the NWA

The post match attack by Windham on Luger at the Great American Bash card really needed a better selling. I don't think Luger should have been there following the attack as Windham really hurt his head and face. Just hurting the product by not making belt shots and ring posts a serious thing.

As for the rest of the entry and the knee injury, it was good and a good way for Luger to look strong while losing the title and his rematch.

Well it didn't put Luger out of action completely, but it was a progressive wearing down of Luger over the month after each attack, which ultimately lead him to losing the title to Flair

Flair will be booked very differently moving forward, because he doesn't have any back up anymore

    NWA World Title-Fast Forward....August 1 1988 through July 31 1990

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

In my humble opinion this time period was the best in the history of NWA-JCP Booking Wise

With The 1988 Great American Bash Series now completed, Ric Flair is once again The NWA World Champion

Flair would defend the Title successfully threw the rest of 1988 against mainly Sting & Lex Luger, culminating in a match against Lex Luger at StarrCade 1988 where Flair was able to pin Luger with his feet on the ropes

In early 1989 Ricky Steamboat would come to NWA-JCP and earn himself a World Title shot against Ric Flair

Ricky Steamboat would win the NWA World Title from Flair and the two would have several classic matches over the next several months until Ric Flair was finally able to defeat Ricky Steamboat to recapture The NWA World Title

Flair would then be attacked by Terry Funk which would lead to a series of matches between the 2 with Flair being able to defeat Terry Funk in several Title defences as well as tag team matches with Sting as Flair's tag team partner

At StarrCade 1989 An Iron Man Tournament would be held with the winner of The Tournament being named the # 1 Contender to the NWA World Title

    Sting won the Tournament

Ric Flair didn't want to give Sting a Title shot, so when Sting insisted Flair attacked him along with the returning Arn & Ole Anderson

Sting suffered a serious knee injury and was out of action for close to 6 months

While Sting was recovering Flair defended the The NWA Title mainly against Lex Luger and was able to retain The NWA World Title mainly because of outside interference from the Newly reformed Four Horsemen that consisted of
    Ric Flair.....Arn Anderson....Barry Windham....Sid Vicious

On July 7 1990 Sting returned to challenge Ric Flair for The NWA World Title

Sting made Ric Flair submit to the Scorpion DeathLock at the 29 minute mark to win The NWA World Title

I was surprised to see The Black Scorpion beat Sting at Starrcade because I thought you were going to reveal his identity. Good stuff though. Does the first Black Scorpion basically not matter?

    No

The whole Black Scorpion program was really just a rouse on the part of the Four Horsemen to get the NWA World Title back around Ric Flair's waist

During the actual angle back in 1990 The role of the Black Scorpion was played by several different wrestlers leading up to the StarrCade match...Bill Irwin....Danny Spivey....MoonDog Rex....Al Perez

While doing some research on Al Perez, I read on WikiPedia that originally Al Perez was going to be revealed as The Black Scorpion, but quit the company when he was informed that he was going to lose to Sting
Not sure how much truth their is behind that, but it at least makes for a good story

Nice way to put Sting over by having Flair call him "the man." The booking of the tournament was eh to me. I figured we would have a triple threat instead of Flair and Luger being eliminated from the tournament. I am looking forward to seeing the Sting and Windham feud develop.
