Re: Christmas And New Year Premier League Discussion

Paddy make City 4/1 favourites to win the Premier League "mini-league" of these 4 games over Christmas.

If we could get our act together we'd be a good bet at 6/1. We have 4 very winnable games and need to get some sort of run going if we're going to make the top 4 this year.

Everton could be a decent shout for a "Christmas mini-league", be a big statement from them if they came away with 12 points from their 4 games.

Think I'll be watching 3 games on the bounce on both Boxing Day and New Years, love this time of year for football.

I think Everton have been slightly overrated so far and their form will tail off a bit soon. They're a good side but I can't see them lasting the pace and being top 4 contenders.

If we get any more than 6 points from that we'll have done well.

7-9 points should be the aim. Three relegation battlers, and Arsenal at home.

I love this time of year for English football.

And to think some people want a winter break.

Third away game of the season for me on New Years Day for me at Swansea, early kick off has forced us to get an hotel and spend New Year in Wales.

Can anybody stop Luis Suarez scoring goals!!!!

    EDIT

Top of the European Golden Boot now with 19 goals, played 4 less games than nearest rivals Ronaldo and Diego Costa. Hate the personality of the guy but what a player.

Reckon he will beat the 34 goal record of Shearer too the way he is playing and finishing.

I thought Andy Cole had the season record in the Premier League.

Re: Christmas And New Year Premier League Discussion

Another game, another terrible performance from Albion. Hopefully we don't spend too much time pissing about to get a new manager in, because he we need new ideas and tactics pronto. Downing played it safe like Clarke had done in the run up to his sacking, 4-5-1 against poor opposition, Sessegnon and Brunt undropable despite 5 shit games in a row, refusal to bring on Berahino and Vydra until we're losing. That first half is as bad as I've seen in 5 years, so lacking creativity. We had Foster, then the 4 defenders in front of him with Mulumbu protecting.......and then 4 useless tits infront of them constantly running away from the ball because they're all so lacking in confidence, no-one wants to be the player to make a killer pass for fear of getting it wrong. Brunt, Sinclair, Sessegnon and Morrison were all 3/10 at best. Because they didn't want to play, Olson spend the half first half lumping the ball to Long who was having no joy at holding the ball up. It was only when Berahino, Vydra and Gera came on that we started passing the ball to feet. This is the most frustrating spell of watching the Albion I've known in about 5-6 years. It needs changing.

Joint with Shearer. Both got 34.

As for Suarez beating it who knows. City & Chelsea might be able to slow him down a bit. Hard to tell but when you consider he's only played 12 games his form is unreal.

Re: Christmas And New Year Premier League Discussion

Our first really good performance at home in a while. We scored 3 good goals and could have had more. For a period in the first half we looked dangerous every time we went forward. Shame we switched off to fail to keep a fourth clean sheet in a row but this was a good day for us. Great to see Welbeck get another and Januzaj score his first home goal.

I said we ideally needed 4 wins over the Christmas period. 1 (admittedly the easiest) down, 3 to go.

Speaking off Januzaj I see Young has taken him under his wing and has been teaching him a
    Lot about the game

England: the only country where taking a dive is seen as worse than a dangerous, potentially leg breaking challenge.

Re: Christmas And New Year Premier League Discussion

Januzaj was very impressive yesterday. He keeps going like this and we get RVP and Rooney firing together anything could happen because all the big teams are beating each other. I think people started writing us off way to early. I don't see us winning the league but the only team i fear are City at the moment. I feel we could beat any other team to be honest.

Ed, apparent West Brom are waiting for Malky Mackay to be available. This is what is going round at work (Daily Mail) anyway.
