Saw he signed with ROH, understandable with the New Japan deal. Wonder how ROH will waste him for the next year?

It’s because people want to experience history. As much as I detest current ROH, I don’t blame fans and this is a huge accomplishment.

Think it's been honor club subscribers (who apparently could buy in bulks so scalpers probably got in that way) the last week or so, but general sale started either today or starts tomorrow. Damn good news for the company either way.

That's pretty crazy. Their attendance record must've been less than half that previously?

Shame this isn't happening in their glory days.

Supercard of Honor this year got 6,000, I don't know if there's been one higher than that in their history.

Im not sure if you re right about this. ROH and NJPW are a power house duo it seems. They do shows together and they sell out. Now they have an arena that can meet the fans demands. Im sure it being a historic moment has something to do with it but all credit goes to ROH and NJPW.

Do not credit this to something we’ve seen countless time in the last four years.

People. Want. To. Be. A. Part. Of. History.

New Japan should be lucky to be a part of something selling this well in the states because they’re overexposing themselves.

I'm kinda with Nicky. I think a big part of the sales is the special feeling that comes along with ROH and New Japan running MSG for the first time in the midst of this huge indy revolution taking place. But of course the companies deserve their credit for building up to this.

They were thousands of seats off of selling out the Cow Palace in July so there is an element of what Nicky is saying, being at MSG for something different to these usual ROH/NJPW shows is the hook here. Plus they a piggy backing onto Wrestlemania weekend so there's a hell of a lot of wrestling fans in the area that weekend.

I guess that makes such a big difference? Im not anal enough to check every house show to see if they sell out house shows. Dont try to downplay it Jimmy, fastest sell out in pro wrestling history at the garden

    Regardless

This is the best wrestling news in a long time

Lol at whoever said this was petty.

It makes a huge difference. The house show business means absolutely nothing to the WWE anymore. Frankly, they could ditch house shows and not be hurt in the slightest money wise.

The fastest sellout in pro wrestling history should come with an asterix too. It's an entirely different day and age when it comes to ticket sales. Hell, online sales weren't even really a thing during the WWE's biggest boom periods when sell outs were so common. Considering the fact that the pre-sale started a couple of days ago, I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't actually the fastest sell out at MSG. I know Survivor Series 2011 was souled out in 90 minutes, although admittedly I'm not sure what the pre-sale situation was like.

They should be happy though. This clearly shows that people are disgruntled enough with the WWE that they wanted to make this show a success.

Re: Ring Of Honor General Discussion Thread

Good for ROH. That's amazing to get all those tickets sold quickly. The business is in a healthy place.

Bringing up WWE house show attendances feels like childish point scoring and it's a real stretch for that to be any kind of criticism towards WWE when their NXT show on at the same time is going to do similar numbers give or take. ROH's biggest show in their history Vs a random WWE MSG house show, no comparison there really on what the hot ticket is. However, you're deluded if you think WWE could sell that arena out if they put some effort behind it.
