Re: The Official Puro Discussion Thread

Holy shit the Champion Carnival is going to be awesome!

    Block A:
    Ryoji Sai (LAND'S END)
    Yuji Hino (Wrestle-1)
    Shingo Takagi (Dragon Gate)
    Naoya Nomura
    Kento Miyahara
    Joe Doering
    Shuji Ishikawa
    The Bodyguard

    Block B:
    Yutaka Yoshie (Dradition)
    Dylan James (Freelance)
    Naomichi Marufuji (NOAH)
    KAI
    Zeus
    Suwama
    Jun Akiyama
    Yoshitatsu

AJPW will be starting a streaming service so we can see the whole tournament (presumably). Maybe we can have our own thread for this if we can. It'll be well worth watching if possible to live.

In other big news my pre - year prediction of Hideki Suzuki in NOAH is already true! Global League here he comes, working a one shot tag against Marufuji and Kotoge (~!). SO HYPE.

Very cool to see Marufuji and Shingo in the CC. Plus Akiyama, thought he was gonna give it a miss from now on.

Doesn't AJPW getting it's own streaming service mean that the RealHero guys are not gonna upload anything just like they do for NJPW and DDT? That's gonna led to less people watching it imo.

ugh Suzuki in NOAH the reborn. Boring 30 minute matches are here again

I'll probably try to catch Shingo and Marufuji and BODYGAAAAAAAH

also what's the deal with Hideki and Ice Ribbon right now? Is he affiliating with them now or is it just cause he's banging one of the roster?

Yeah, probably but these shows always make their rounds anyway from these streaming services. I'm just happy I can watch live tbh. But yeah those two are the big stories, even bigger if it leads to NOAH & AJPW working together.

Brother, what are you talking about with Suzuki? I mean you can not like him but most of his matches go sub 15 minutes outside of his Strong BJ matches and everyone complains they aren't "proper" world title matches. His tag work is always aces too.

@Shake: Murakami is in Ice too, tried to throw Tsukka out of a window and then stood outside the offices waiting for Suzuki...but Suzuki didn't show. LMAO. Hideki commented that he was apart of the roster officially but he's in such high demand I'd be surprised if he isn't wrestling in NOAH, BJW, etc. too even if that's actually true. I figure it's really mostly to build to Hideki vs. Murakami for Ice but who knows. Takanashi from DDT used to be an Ice wrestler too so a male wrestler isn't unheard of.

Re: The Official Puro Discussion Thread

I'll totally get the streaming service and use it somewhat so I think it's a plus for maybe trying to get some foreigners into it. I don't think the streaming service will be successful in Japan itself. So the effect remains to be seen. Maybe more foreigners will travel to shows like with NJPW? Idk.

Yeah, I know Murakami was about. Poor Tsukka. Really should just start a men's division that has a special participant in Miyako Matsumoto.

I'm just teasing brother. But in all honesty he's not someone who excites me coming into NOAH. It'll give me a chance to get a closer eye on him though.

Gonna watch the 20/1 show this weekend.

Hideki Suzuki in NOAH? Awesome stuff.

The line up in the Champions Carnival looks awesome as well. If they show the entire tournament (or near enough at last), for sure I'll get the streaming service. I'll probably would've got it anyway but if this happens, it's a definite yes from me. Looks like a great year for puro.

Hakuna Matata, I rib you about BritWres guys enough to get blowback. I do think your perception of him might be a bit skewed though. This is more like the Hideki you'll see in NOAH, check out his 1/2 tag I recommended in the other thread. It's only about 10 minutes & he looked great I thought: https://rutube.ru/video/748699c83d47...0d39e37a1cb81/

Also he dressed up like Bruiser Brody & shot Ueki the other day so if that's not WOTY material IDK what is.

My prediction for the CC is Kento vs Marufuji Final with Kento winning.

Real Hero Google Drive is shutting down at the end of the month so grab what you can...

And pray that there's an alternative set up or we're gonna miss out on a alot of puro this year. Unless you have an IPTV sub for SamuraiTV, G and Gaora and can afford to sub to all the streaming services available for promotions.

Yeah heard that this morning. The only thing I'm sad about losing is current NOAH which I was excited to watch this year, everything else was just a fleeting interest in seeing highly recommended matches. I imagine someone, somewhere will still upload the big matches temporarily on some streaming site but it'll be a short lived thing.

We've been lucky to have it for so long.

Re: The Official Puro Discussion Thread

I wouldn't be too worried. Mort's already setting something up for the future and gave me the heads up on Twitter. Old stuff is pretty much screwed so that's what should be prioritized if you're interested, the old DG shows as I understand it were what drew the ire of big Japanese tv station but new stuff there will be more including NOAH, hopefully Ice and the rest as well. It should be okay, maybe a bit less convenient tho, I'm sketchy on the details but if I get any inside info I'll pass it along.

It’s disappointing to hear about the Real Hero Archive, but not surprising, and, really, they’ve done well to fly under the radar for as long as they have. I’ve already download the main stuff I want, so now it’s a case of downloading everything else I have an interest in before it all goes away, and some stuff is disappearing already.

    It’s not cheap but it’s worth it if you can afford it, but you can subscribe to Fuji TV;

    https://twitter.com/toshanshuinLA/st...25498217132032

That’s a decent walkthrough of the process of signing up. Like I said, it’s not cheap; right now, it’s approximately $28 a month, although the price goes down a little if you pay for a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription. You can get a 24-hour trial for free to see if its for you without spending money up front. But for your money, when you subscribe, you not only get tons of wrestling content, but the rest of Fuji TV’s programming as well.

Yeah we've been spoiled with the hard work with the Drive and I told them this on Twitter. I think they are trying to find a way to try to find a host site for shows, but if not still those guys deserve all the respect in the world for giving us all that Puro and getting us to further our Wrestling love.

Yeah I just saw it. Glad to see it not just going away and I like how if you have a Show you want to DL it's on Openload which is so easy to download for me.

I'm pretty sure over time they'll have someone do some fancy graphics, but right now I'm hype.

I told you guys it would be nbd about the RealHero thing. Zero would never lie to his best friends.

Hideki Suzuki did an interview where he said he's coming to NOAH for more than a short term thing, typical "I'm gonna be #1 in this company" type of interview, and look at how adorable he looks mocking Kenou's Fist King pose:

Also he, Jay Bradley, & Cody Hall are all apart of Ice Ribbon's Homme Division as it's been christened now. Maybe Hideki can win the Triangle Ribbon title and it can be a secondary title in NOAH for a couple of matches or some of the Ice girls can work on some SEM shows later on.

NOAH sold out another show today too so that's good.

I will try to make time for some CC matches.

I picked and choose some matches from the NOAH 2/2 show and thought Marufuji/Kiyomiya and Kenoh/Miyamoto were pretty good.

Been looking at some of the Noah cards and the Great Voyage in Yokohama 11/03 show looks great. You got Marufuji and Kotoge teaming together which I always love. XX vs Yoshinari Ogawa & Minoru Tanaka seems like a match that has huge potential. You got two RATEL'S members facing off against each other, Harada is fantastic btw. The Aggression vs 50 Funky Powers could be good. Nakajima is a must watch in everything he does. And you got the main event, Kenou shouting bastard at people vs Sugiura who will give you a death growl makes for a great match in my opinion. And Kenou has said if he beats Sugiura, he will challenge Marufuji which is still awesome to hear.
