The Very Early World Cup 2014 Thread(Including all qualifier talk)

With the qualifiers already under way in various parts of the world and the European qualifiers starting in September I thought it was about time I made this thread.

So who do you see as early favorites?

    Will Spain dominance continue?

Will England romp the qualifiers again and then flatter to deceive?

Re: The Very Early World Cup 2014 Thread(Including all qualifier talk)

Seeing as it is in South America, I'm going with Brazil or maybe Argentina to win it. Chile and Uruguay to give it a good go too but out in the Quarters. Spain and Germany to fly the flag for Europe and I think Mexico will have a good run also. For the hell of it, Belgium to be the eight team in the Quarters.

Spain to go to Brazil and win it, cementing there place as one of the best sides ever. Brazil to crash out early on.

Iran - 1-0 Win Vs. Uzbekistan, 0-0 Draw Vs. Qatar

    Group B

Japan - 6-0 Win Vs. Jordan, 1-1 Draw Vs. Australia
Iraq - 1-1 Draws Vs. Jordan & Oman
Australia - 0-0 Draw Against Oman, 1-1 Draw vs. Japan

If Theo Walcott's allowed to be the star of the England team, then I think they could do well. I think Walcott could dominate if given the chance

Italy, Germany, Spain and Portugal to once again go very far. Brazil and Argentina are going to be the teams to beat.

    Italy vs Argentina final :te:

It'll be Spain for the fourth tournament in a row.

I just cannot see another time ever being as wholly complete as them, and I doubt that'll change in 2 years time.

Guess the big story there is Rio back in the team. Good to see an Albion player in the squad! Will do Hart good to have some actual competition for his place, even though foster is defo number 2.

I notice the osman experiment is still continuing.

Re: The Very Early World Cup 2014 Thread(Including all qualifier talk)

Finally Hodgson realises that Rio should be in the squad. Easily still the best, most in-form English centre-half right now.

Also Carrick really ought to start, doubt he will though.

Finally I'm surprised Ox still gets called up when he isn't playing any football right now. Are there really no other options?

    And he scores goals...!

Did you just say that Forster will give Hart competition for the #1 Spot?

Great to see Lennon back in the Squad, always been a creative player for England. San Marino should be easy enough, but the Montenegro match is vital and we need a win from it.

Re: The Very Early World Cup 2014 Thread(Including all qualifier talk)

    Hodgson cant be taken serious

I am not against him picking Rio, his form has been better, but he is after all only filling in for Jagielka, if England seriously want to build to the future then Caulker or Shawcross were the obvious pick. Nothing against Rio in general

But what he said about Lescott made no sense whatsoever, if he left him out for not getting any game time at City then why are Smalling, Chamberlain and Defoe in the squad. None have been playing and it seems Hodgson doesnt know there is a bottom half to the premier league table. Rickie Lambert deserved a call up, esepcially for the first game against San Marino, who face it would lose to a select XI from the Wrestling Clique forum

Return of Paterson for Northern Ireland ftw. Not that he's exactly a proven goalscorer but can't do any worse than what we've been playing with.

    And he scores goals...!
