Antonio because Edwards has been stuck PRIMARILY with hacks for the better part of a year.

    Spoiler:

Neither have really yet to make much impact this year. Edwards has stepped down from the main event scene in favour of Steen, Claudio's had 1 squash on TV and some solid FCW work.

The only Eddie match that really stands out from this year is the No Holds Barred with Roderick, which I'd recommend. From late last year, I really enjoyed his performances against Generico, the 80-min tag, Ringmaster Challenge, Wolves/FS, Mike Bennett and Kyle O'Reilly. So I'll settle on him, though I can see more people choosing Claudio.

I'd just like to state for the record that his ring name is Antonio Cesaro, not Claudio, and you should refer to him as such, especially when discussing his WWE/FCW matches.

    Thank you.

Yeah...unless I'm changing the name of the threads to Bryan Danielson, Chris Hero, Tyler Black, Scotty Goldman, Super Liger, you can just not be concerned what I call him. He's been Claudio to me since 2007 and Antonio Cesaro for a minute.

I thought it was obvious I wasn't serious by the fact that I signed by name.

It is a "pet peeve" of mine when people call wrestlers by their old (usually indy) ring names, but it's more when they've been called the new name for years that it's annoying, like people still saying Matt Sydal or Bryan Danielson (though at least that one's similar).

Also why only 2007? Wasn't he called Claudio in 2006 and pretty good then too?

I'd only really known about him since 2007.

Im also picking Edwards over Claudio

Claudio has been great since i saw in 2005. Want to see a great match, check out him vs Shelley at ROH This Means War

I don't see a acase for Edwards here. Claudio is way more charismatic and a better worker in literally every way.

Oh my do I love that match. I dug it allot more than the main event that night. Both Eddie and Claudio have been real good in 2011 but I'll give the nod to Edwards only because Cesaro has been stuck in FCW/squash matches.

Re: Best Wrestler in North America Round 2: Eddie Edwards vs Antonio Cesaro

It's gotta be Cesaro. Even his short FCW stuff has been better than Eddie has this year.

I must add this isn't Eddie's fault, to be put in a feud which essentially boils down to 'Who's better friends with Davey Richards' is a recipe for disaster.

Why do people bring up shitty feuds instead of matches. Eddie has a really good Rhino match to his name I want to add.

Re: Best Wrestler in North America Round 2: Eddie Edwards vs Antonio Cesaro

Eddie is way good when not stuck with Richards/Strong, I agree. But Cesaro is still a more complete performer, to be fair.

I'd argue Eddie is still great, even against Strong. The problem was they did all they could with each other in the first two matches that there was nothing necessary about the matches after those. But I'd say Eddie still put in quality performances.

Re: Best Wrestler in North America Round 2: Eddie Edwards vs Antonio Cesaro

If he's stuck in bad programs, with bad wrestlers, and even then isn't as complete of a wrestler as Cesaro, it's still an obvious vote for me regardless of how good in the ring he can be.

And mind you, I'm one of the biggest Eddie Edwards fans around here probably.

No, I'm pretty sure Marketh is the biggest Eddie Edward fan. I'm just saying judging off of shitty feuds is terrible. Aries and Jacobs had one amazingly shitty feud but the matches were great. Being in a crap feud doesn't define the wrestler, being in crap matches defines the wrestler and Edwards is not involved in those kind of matches. I wouldn't say Cena is a shitty wrestler because his feuds are udder dog shit and same applies here. It's something they can't help.

I think people are including the matches when they talk about the fueds. I mean, that Young Wolves, or whatever it was called, main event wasn't particularly good.

Yeah, that match was really terrible but it doesn't represent everything he has ever done.

Well no, but it was probably the biggest/most notable match he's had this year. Seems like a fair thing to bring into the discussion...
