Kicking this one off with a bang. The draw was made randomly by pulling names out of a hat (2 hats actually, one with the seeded 32 and one with the other 32). This is one of the ties of the first round.

Going by the pictures, the crazy guy with the mouthguard seems less of a threat to society than the guy who hates women.

    Don't like either, but Orton.

Orton hasn't kept up his 2011 form into 2012 (not necessarily his fault, mind), but he's still better than Angle, who continues to rely on his same formula for most of his matches.

Terrible photoshop on the Angle pic even though the sentiment is kinda true.

Randy Orton in my eyes was the WWE wrestler of 2011 in terms of consistency. I agree with Shock that he's dipped, but you can discount March and April because they've stuck him with Kane, was injured in Feb so he missed the Elimination Chamber and was also injured at the start of January and only just made the Rumble.

His decline aside, he is still the better wrestler in 2012, I haven't had any great urge to watch Angle in years.

Re: Best Wrestler in North America Round 1: Randy Orton vs Kurt Angle

I've gotta reiterate what most are saying here, aside from the rough start to 2012, Orton has improved greatly and been one of the most consistent guys on the roster.

    Also, lol that Angle pic.

Love Angle and Hate Orton but got to go with orton with this one. Haven't seen a lot of recent angle matches but the one I saw at lockdown wasn't all that great.

Again I'm a WWE guy so couldn't comment on Angles recent form in TNA. My vote by default is for Orton.

    Orton.

I have always been a fan of his, and his matches of the last year have been fantastic.

I stopped caring about Angle months ago.

I love Angle out of principle, but would I take him over Orton?

    Yes.

lol nah. Orton wins this thing by a mile. I love Angle, but Orton was WWE's MVP in 2011. End of story.

Orton's still pretty consistent with his matches, I think Angle's only had one good match so far this year/quarter, and against Hardy too.

I agree. Is this of the work they have done of their whole career or just recently?

Sorry, I don't vote/look at polls. I'd probably say Orton but I don't watch TNA.
