Hope they make it original and not just a rip off.

How original do you think they can make The Mummy? This isn't sarcasm, I'm genuinely interested in ideas to make a Universal Monster interesting again.

Digging the shit out of everything I've seen so far for this film. Always been a fan of the universal monsters charcters So i'm glad to see them getting some more movies. I think what intrigues me most is how Dr.Jekyll plays into things. So definitely will give this a look when it comes out.

    Total Lifetime Grosses
    Domestic: $32,246,120 18.5%
    + Foreign: $141,800,000 81.5%
    = Worldwide: $174,046,120
With a 125 million dollar reported budget this movie certainly didn't reach the domestic numbers they wanted. Internationally it made really good money, but they still can't be thrilled.

Re: The Mummy (2017) - Tom Cruise

Saw this in the cinema today after hearing a lot of negativity about it in the run up. Personally enjoyed the film quite a lot and felt it set up the Dark Universe pretty well. Thought Sofia Boutella was very good as the mummy itself and found myself quite enjoying Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe in their respective roles. I even dug the brief comedic moments shared between the characters Nick and Veil. The only downer for me was the character of Jennifer Halsey who I personally just found to be annoying and pretty dislikable for the wrong reasons. Apart from that I dug the movie and can't wait to see more from the universe.
